On the surface, it is so easy to criticize this product. But, if like me, you just want stronger abs (I kayak), this product is great. It is inexpensive. The bar moves...which provides freedom of movement...my arms hold the bar up, not the other way around. All the machine is supposed to do is to provide some stability and reassurance that you won't fall out of the chair as you throw your abdomen around in various ways..which can be done quickly, in an aerobic fashion. I like the machine, and would purchace again.

I bought my machine at a thrift store for $10 and that was the best $10 I ever spent.I have spinal stenosis and the AbDoer is wonderful on my back,it doesn't hurt it like crunches do.I have lost about 3 inches off my waist and I can finally see some muscles in my stomach.I can also see them bones on my sides called ribs.I haven't seen my ribs since I was 20 and I am 42 now,so it's been awhile.I would recommend this machine to anyone.

I was surprised by the amount of negative feedback posted about the Abdoer on this site.  I think the complaints that it doesn't deliver results is due to improper use. I didn't notice results during the first few weeks until I figured out what I was doing wrong.  Once I started using it the right way I noticed great results. The correct way to use the ABdoer is to make your midsection (stomach, sides and lower back muscles)do ALL the work. You have to consciously think about it as you go through the routines in the beginner's video.   After a while you don't think about it anymore, you just do it. If you use it properly you will feel it in your entire midsection.  When the beginner routines are no longer a challenge, move on to the Intermediate and Advanced videos for a serious workout. I can't stress enough that for the Abdoer to work, you must use it correctly.   If you are using your upperbody and arms to do the work (which was my initial mistake)you are not working out the midsection and you won't see results. Also, keep in mind that exercise alone is not enough.  You have to control your food intake. You will not see positive results (a flat stomach and toned midsection) if you are very overweight and not watching what you eat.  The only way to achieve your fitness goals is exercise AND diet. For all those who gave up on the ABdoer...try it again taking the above advice.

I have used this Ab-Doer, for the first 3 tapes, and I love it to death! I have had extreem back problems forever, and am 46 years old. I work as a waitress, and my back and body take loads of abuse. since I have been using this, my back feels 100% better, and it seems to strengthen the muscles, although I have not lost tons of weight, but I lost inches and enjoy the process and videos, as well as the results. I am over 180 pounds, 5' 9" and I get right into the video and the way it makes the muscles relax while you use it. I think if anyone has problems with the back roller, they are using it wrong, or assenbled it wrong. I have used mine now for several years, and I am not a little person, and the spring is in perfect condition still! I would tell everyone to get one! My chiropractor said I am in better condition since using it, and I should keep up the good work. I also feel better about myself, and in only a few minutes every other day. What a treat this product has been. I hope to advance to a newer model when it is available.

I purchased the Ab doer and it does flatten and tighten the mid section.  I took off 6" from my waistline in 3 months sitting in front of my tv, first watching the videos and later, my favorite shows. I wanted a flat stomach, not six pack abs, so I'm happy with the results. It is important that you use the Ab doer correctly...let the mid section do the work and taking in a few less calories wouldn't hurt either. Let's face it, all exercise equipment featured on these informercials look like a fun, effort-free way to loose weight.  Reality sets in when we discover that we really have to exercise regularily, eat properly (and have the right genetic make-up) if we want to look like those people in the videos.  The Ab doer does squeek and the 4 back roller option didn't do it for me, still, of all the exercise equipment that I have purchased, this one did produce results.  You might take note that the Ab doer is about the only product on this site that has some positive feedback, so it can't be all that bad!

The arms are not supposed to be tight in one position.  The person who wrote this doesn't know how to use the product.  When the arms are loose you can move them with your exercise, actually your arms hold the bars up which is part of the exercise.  The person who wrote this doesn't understand the product.

At first, I would have agreed with all the negative commentary on this product and up until seven month's ago, I also thought the negative claim's were true but I thought I would give the product one last try.  For the first two weeks, I only did ten minute sets, twice a day, everyday.  I then went for two twenty minute sets, everyday, for two more weeks.  After a month, I was up to thirty minutes, twice, every other day.  On My rest day I did twenty minutes of just stretching.  When I started on the machine, I weighed over two hundred and ten pounds and had a forty-four inch stomach.  I now have a thirty-five inch stomach but am working to get to a size thirty-two.  I should be there by March.  It's taken Me over six plus month's to get where I'm at and in a way, I'm glad that it did.  I have no intentions of getting big again and with the ab-doers help, I plan on staying thin. The best thing I can recommend is, don't give up and get up to at least, thirty minutes at a time.  Once you get close to your goal level, ease off on the amount of sets you do a day to one, every other day.  Best of luck to those who try.

I have seen with my own eyes the wonders of the abdoer. My pastor's wife used it and still uses it. She went from a size 16-18 to a size 2, yes 2. She says if she could pack it and take it on trips when whe goes she would. She sold all the ladies at the church on it including me. Some users use any product a few times and expect it to work. They do not change their eating habits and do not deligently use the product. It takes a determination to change everything we want to accomplish in life. I have had mine for two years and I am now seeing a difference and that is because I only used it once in a while. I am using it almost everyday and I am now a size smaller in 1.5 weeks. It's not that this product is defective it's just the it's the mind set. I have seen proof not on TV but right before my very eyes. Remember when you want to change your life, you first have to change your mind. God bless....
