I used to use free weights all the time until I discovered the bowflex. In my opinion it is a great machine and much safer than free weights. As far as the monthly payments go if you only pay the minimum payment required of course it is going to take a long time to pay off. Bowflex does read a financial disclosure to you before they submit your application. By law they can't submit it without your permission so if you don't listen when they are reading that to you that is on you not them. All that aside the bowflex machine is a great product and will help you accomplish everything you want to do.

My experience is in the defense of Bowflex. I have been into weight training (not bodybuilding) since the age of 14 where the owner of the gym would never let me lift any weight greater then 50% of my capability because of my age. I have carried that factor throughout the decades of weight training. As a rule I never lift more then 50% of what I may be capable of and I have been benching 240lbs for the last 30+ years. The point...I got a Bowflex to maintain the condition of my physique and KNEW going in, as with any cabling system that when lifting excessive weights, shuttering occurs and injury follows. Bowflex uses very little space and is the best home system in providing the greatest number of exercises. As for their financing issues...sounds like someone didn't ask enough questions.

I saw a lot of complaints about bowflex finaincing...Anyone who claims that the weren't aware about the high interest financing simply never paid attention when the agreed to the terms. It's your job a consumer to pay attention to what contracts you make. Don't be surprised when you agree to 21.8% financing, that only a small portion goes to your actual bill. I agree their financing sucks, but it's a choice a consumer makes. If you can get a bowflex without their financing, DO IT! It's a great product, but they do not offer low interest rates.

some people say that this product doesnt work at all and it is a waste of time and money. the truth is that some people are just too lazy to work out on the bowflex for more than 20 min. a day three days a week. this home gym works you just have to know how to use it. and if your not already in shape, your gonna have to work a little harder to look like the people you see on tv every day

I purchased a Bowflex Blaze (the entry level Bowflex) from the Bowflex site about a month ago. It was at my door within a week and a half. I had to help the UPS lady carry the four boxes into my house as each one weighed an average of 60 lbs. That right there told me I was getting a quality product. Assembly was pretty straight forward with no missing parts. Fully assembled this thing is a monster and the construction and materials quality is amazing! Even though it folds up for storage, it's best to dedicate a small unused bedroom to it if possible. I've been using it for about two and a half weeks in conjuction with Mens Health Abs Diet and have already dropped 10 lbs. Simply put, the machine lives up to the claim of "3 simple workouts a week, 20 minutes a day". It's all about how fast you can switch from one excersise to the next (circuit training). Your heart rate stays elevated with no time to drop because you are waiting to do other exercises (such as at a gym). As for the complaints from others on this site. I'd say learn how credit works before buying. If you make your payments on time as expected, you should'nt have anything to gripe about. And you can't use the excuse of "they never send me a bill". That's what phones are for. If I don't receive a bill from a creditor within a period of time, I am on the phone wanting to know what's up. Anyway. Love the Bowflex.

The Bowflex is as home excersize equipment gets. I did do a small mod to mine to stabilize the machine's "tower" (I have an older XTLU) but it was still ok before the mod. You people complaining about finance charges are the kind of credit morons that any company offering revolving credit prey on. Wise up. If you can't afford to buy something then don't. Put your money in the bank for a year until you can pay it off or do the "same as cash" payments and show a littl discipline. Speaking of which, the Bowflex won't make you stronger or leaner, YOU have to do that. The Bowflex is just a tool and a reald decent one at that. Is is as good as free weights? No. But it is safer and more convenient and a real nice companion to a set of dumbells. Great for lats and tri's, good for bi's and chest, decent for legs and abs.

I have been working out for over 20 years and have had to stop because of time issues. My Bow flex has allowed me to regain the size and strength that I once had. It is well made and performs exercises to hit every muscle group. The people who are complaining about the payments all I can say is that is what credit cards do. They accrue interest. If you make the minimum payment, you will be paying forever. This has nothing to do with the machine it self. I cannot find one problem with my Bow flex. It is the best piece of home equipment I have ever had or seen.

All the complaints seem to deal primarily with the financing Bowflex offers not the unit itself. I bought the Blowflex Xtreme 2 via their 12 months same as cash deal. I divided the total cost of the unit by 12 months. This told me what I would have to pay each month in order to pay it off in 12 months. I made the small monthly payment they required and put the rest into an interest bearing bank account. At the end of 12 months I paid one large payment with what had accumlated in the bank account and had a few bucks in interest left over for myself. If all the complainers had educated themselves on how credit works, they would have nothing to complain about. The Bowflex is an excellent maching.

Its horrible about the financing thing, I paid for mine in full with my credit card so I didn't experience that, I will say the product is what I expected, I've spent many years in gyms so I didn't expect the product to bulk me up or be like professional equipment or free weights. However I had been out of the gym for 8 years and my body was really starting to go to crap and I hoped it would be a way to stop that, and it works very good for that purpose, you will not bulk up like the folks on the commercials but you will get a good base strength and flexability workout. I am now back in a gym and the foundation from the bowflex was a big help in easing my transition back to the gym. I read some folks complaining about the wobble. thats because you were using too much weight. If you can't do the lift in a smooth steady motion you need to lower the weight until you can, then slowly work yourself upward in weight. Just because you can lift it doesn't mean your doing the lift correctly. If your not going to do the lift correctly your never going to get anywhere. body training is a skill you must learn, if you know nothing you need to get with someone who knows what they are doing go the library and read a book on the subject.

I see a bunch of posts from people who obviously don't understand credit. Legally Bowflex is required to read a disclosure that goes over the details of the low monthly plans including service charges and interest rates. If you bought online then it is up to you to read and understand this information. Duh! of course it will take a long time to pay off if you only make the minimum monthly payment. This isn't some new-fangled scam. Its basic financing. What I see here isn't an "infomercial scam" but rather ignorant and uninformed people making bad financial decisions without understanding what they are being told. By law bowflex must review the aspects of the financing and if you purchase without understanding the details that is not a scam by bowflex, you've made an ingorant buying decision and hopefully you now have a better understanding of credit and can see that there is no "scam" going on here rather ignorant consumers.

I ordered the Bowflex Extreme 2 and I am very satisfied. I am not the owner, work for, or in anyway associated with Bowflex. After reading the reports here, I decided not to use the Bowflex finance program. I ordered mine from QVC for $624.00 and they charged my credit card 3 payments of $208.00 monthly with no problems. I suggest, before buying a product, research this website. You can save yourself some headaches. About the wobble when lifting heavy weights, this is true. However, I was able to solve the problem by reducing the weight and performing the repetitions slowly. This allowed me to get a better workout. As you get stronger, you can add more weight without the wobble. Although I prefer free weights to workout, having the Bowflex at home is more convenient. It shows that I have gained muscle mass and my fitness level is increasing. Can the product be better, sure; nevertheless, I am happy with the results.

This is a good product, as good as the amount of time you put in on it. The complaint that it wobbles is missing the point. It is like working with dumbbells, it brings in more muscles to perform an exercise a good thing. Upper body exercises is best, then legs, and stomach isn't it strong point. It is a single piece of equipment and sure a gym worth of equipment might produce better results. But for me, the convince of the Bowflex means I use it, and that is what makes all the difference. I will admit that the sales rep. are not too swift, and watch out for the supposed deals. I actually bought mine through E-bay.

Being a old time weight lifter and I found the If you don't take the ime out to read the all the Manuals that come with the Bow Flex most novice's will have problems using it. It's a great machine, I lost 4 inches around my waist as well as 20 lbs. in a littel over 6 weeks. By reading the manuels on how one must sit and do these exersices, is essential to the results one gets. The most important thing to remember is to drink alot of water as the instructions tell you to do. Great machine! And this comes from a Disabled Nam Vet that had my Dr. at the VA hospital check it out before I even bought it. Most people that complain about this machine never bother to do there homework! And this holds true for anything one would purchase. Bow Flex is made by Nautilus an extremely good company. I even received free of charge from Bow Flex more parts to increase the safty factor of the machine. Recommend it highly, but only if your serious... I'm 59 yrs old with the body of a 30 year old... and still going strong!
