I have been using Murad Acne complex for 6 months now. I had severe acne before trying it, so it didn't get worse before it got better, but it did take 3-4 weeks before my skin calmed down. I still get lots of blackheads, that I go to the spa to get extracted about once a month. But I'll take blackheads over the monster cysts that I got before. My skin isn't irritated at all, it's very gentle. However, I believe the Pure Skin supplements that I bought with the kit makes a tremendous difference. When I stop taking them, I break out, and when I take them again, my skin clears up. So it might be the supplements more than the products that work for me.

I just read some of the complaints and I feel terrible for those people, but to anyone out there who is considering buying the product I say to give it a serious try.
My skin has been a nightmare at times, and this program really works for me.
My favorite product is the back spray because I occassionally break out across my back, shoulders, and chest but this spray knocked all of that out.
I agree with the poster who encouraged everyone to read the directions. Seems to me you do have to adjust the amount you use at first.
Good luck.

I bought this product [] about 2 weeks ago. I had been using [] line for about 3 months with great sucess, however my skin must have gotten used to it, so the pimples started coming back. I love this product. I am reading all of the complaints and people should realize that not everyone can use a product with these chemicals even if they are mild. People with very sensitive skin can not handle it. Read the instructions before trying, if your skin starts to dry out, try rotating it with something else at night without an acne medication in it, that way your skin will have time to adjust. I have been clear for the 2 weeks I have used it, and have had no adverse reactions whatsoever.

I'm 32, and have been struggling with acne since Jr High School. I've tried every OTC product, Proactiv, and recently went to a dermatologist (who did absolutely nothing for me). I've been trying this product for about 1 week, and I've been experiencing the slight increase in acne, but mostly white heads. After reading the other defense comments (and the complaints), I went back and decided to re-read all of the pamphlets that came with the product. I've figured out what the problem might be. I think that the acne treatment gel should be used once a day at first... and then increased as needed (which is what the sheet of paper listing the drug facts suggests). I was using the gel 2 times a day and began to experience burning and irritation around my mouth area. Additionally, I will admit that I was SCRUBBING my face and that is what Murad says you should NOT do.
Before I purchased the product I did a lot of research. Went to the Murad website, read about ALL the products and read the reviews for the products. I figured that it couldn't be a scam if Murad is available at various salons/boutiques/etc. It's even sold/used at a reputable high-end department store's spa/salon here in NYC. I don't think it could be a scam. I think the difference here is that Murad does not use Benzoyl Peroxide which many other acne products use. So Murad may take a while to work. (Proactiv has Benzoyl Peroxide which makes it work faster, but after a while the skin gets used to the ingredient and stops working. BP also dries the skin really bad and can actually create more acne problems, which is what I was experiencing with the products that the DERMATOLOGIST prescribed.) After using Murad for just a week, I will admit to seeing a difference in my skin. It feels cleaner, I only have a few white heads. When I started using this product (I stopped using what a dermatologist prescribed for me), I had some larger pimples that just would not go away!!! I tried everything... but, a few washes with the Murad and the pimples are gone!!! I'm gonna try my experiment (which is to use the gel once or twice a week as opposed to 2 times daily). I think a decrease in using the gel may solve the problem.
The Murad face wash is very nice... makes my face feel clean and tingly... I also purchased the toner (but decided not to RUB the cotton ball on my face which is what I was originally doing... instead I will just gently apply the toner to my face). The face lotion is wonderful... I've used so many other face moisturizers and they all left my face oily... this one does not do that. I'm gonna give this product a try. If it doesn't work, I'll just find/try something else. After all, as the dermatologist told me, acne treatment is a trial and error process. My advice to the doubters, READ all the information provided. Do your research and be patient. It may not work right away, but it promises 4 weeks to see results. In addition they offer a money-back guarantee, so if it doesn't work, just send it back. But also remember the infomercial shows the worst-case scenario, if your acne is not as severe, decrease the use of that gel... I think that should work. I will update the website if I see that my suggestion works.

well its been a few weeks since i first tried murad. it worked great the first week then i started to get a few hard huge pimples along my shin and jawline which really ticked me off. so i stopped using the cleanser and bought my own...OXY 10% benzoyl peroxide...and stuck to the rest of the murad routine. it helped right away and now i use the OXY instead of the cleanser. the pimples went away and my skin looks amazing! i love the murad line however i dont think the cleanser does anything.

I always had oily skin and occasional tiny breakouts along the chin jawline and sides of my forehead. when i moved from the sunny heat of florida to the cold painful weather of pennsylvania, my skin dried out and i broke out even worse and started to look older when i am only 28! my skin is also porous and ruddy which i battled since my late teens. i bought proactiv and stuff b4 nothing worked...so i bought Murad this weekend. A few hours after my first application I noticed I looked more lighter and now 5 days later, the pimples that I have been trying no to pop and have been around for weeks have totaly vanished and my skin has smoothed out and the redness is gone. I can wake up in the morning and get out of the shower and have not a stitch of cover up on and it looks amazing! I do however have some itchy dryness around my jawline but I think thats because I have been laying the product on kind heavy there as thats where i breakout most so I am gonna stop that. I think that the people here who hate this product are having trouble because they are relying on it to do everything and using way too much in desperation of healing what seems to never go away. you have to take care of your body as well, drink lots of water dont smoke, eat healthy and exercise so that you get oxygen to your skin. this thing wont work if you dont care for your body to begin with I dont think. As for me, this stuff I recommend to anyone.

When I read the complaints I feel bad for Murad. People should read directions thoroughly before using any product. If they had, they would realize that they can expect it to get worse before it gets better! If you don't like the sound of something, don't try it. It's not like companies put something negative in their advertising because it benefits them!! They tell you that because it's true. I have painful adult onset acne along my jawline and I am in the fourth week of using Murad. Every morning I look in the mirror, hoping to see significant difference and today was the first day that I actually was truly impressed. It did get worse first, and the instructions need to be followed to the t. I had to skip the second step for 3 days and then slowly start using it again. Now I use it twice a day with no problem at all! Everyone should also remember that many people have allergies to sulfur and just because you have a horrendous reaction (most likely due to that) you should not slam the company without a little more info. Believe it or not, I don't work for them, I just love this product! Proactive did nothing for me but fry my skin. I have yet to deal with customer service, so I can't speak for them in that area, but I see them as a refreshingly honest company. Read every word people!

I've been using this product on and off for several years and it has always worked as advertised. I've been dealing with adult acne for over 25 years and this is the only product that has ever worked. What you need to do is start out slow. Use it once a day for several days then increase it to twice a day. It will take a few weeks to see results.

Idk how many people are gong to read this... but people.....Murad works. I am literally getting teary eyed! I am sideing with both sides here. Bad: Murad didnt work right away infact it took about 8 weeks to work. And occasionaly i get a pimple or two. First couple times it stung like hell....but i watched so many infomerrcials i ddint want to give up! and now im clear! Good: IT DOES work!! I have had pimples for 3 years....I was even voted worst looker in 8th grade. But eventually this worked! It has its rough parts, but i love it with my heart and soul and i thank god i found it. Murad saved my life. Ok heres what went down: I used it and right away i saw TINY TINY TINY results. My HUGE pimples (cheek and forhead) were all now lots of small ones. nasty looking. and they wouldnt go away 3 weeks later they started going away slowly but surly! I have so much confindece walking around. Its funny, cause i tell people at my new high school that i used to be voted worst looking, hardest to stare at AND never wanna kiss, and there reaction is halariouse like: NO!!!! wtf! You!! Its a new me!! THANK YOU MURAD!!!! God bless you! Tip: Use for two months...and the 2nd step is the thing probably hrting everyons face...it says NOT to use that for the first two weeks! :D

I have used Murad products for more than 6 years now, and haven\'t visited a dermatologist in that long. I had terrible adult-onset acne AND rosacea combination and had tried every OTC and prescription product available. I had taken tetracycline for years and it wasn\'t working anymore. Murad saved my life. I regularly use the acne cleanser, the acne moisturizing gel, and the acne spot treatment, with occasional use of the acne mask. If you are allergic to sulfa topically you will not be able to use some of the Murad acne products, but these products are the real thing. I could not live without them.

I first came across murad at the beauty salon. My esthetician used some of the line on my skin during the facial process. I bought the cleanser and on the spot treatment from her. But honestly the product was pricey even if it did work well. To buy the whole line back then was over 100 bucks. So when murad packaged the whole line I was probably one of the first customers. I have been using murad for about 4 years with no complaints. My acne is under control, and my skin looks great. It's true the first two weeks you end up with more acne or irritation. After that though its smooth sailing.
I suggest this product to all. Buy the 30 dollar month package from [] first and test it out. Not every product works for everyone. But this is a very good product and had changed my skin entirely for the better.

I have been using murad complex system for almost 2 weeks and my face has cleared up but not dramatically but i can deffintly see a difference on my face. I had little clear pimples all over my forehead and then white heads on my chin and my clear pimples are getting less and also are my white heads. I am going to stick with this product for a while longer until it does no good for my skin! thanks murad!! everyone should try it, whats the risk??

I have to admit that this product can be pricey, but it is definitely worth every penny. I have used every product. Everyone says that, but I really have. I've used anything from any store, Proactive, and even Acutane. I used Acutane at three different times, which helped, but I have never seen a product work better than Murad. If I had more money, I would use it all the time. If you have the funds and nothing else has worked, try Murad. I recommend it to all of my friends, and they all love it too.

I came upon this page and completely disagree with the other reveiws. I had horrible acne for the last 4 years and tried everything I could find with no releif. Benzoyl peroxide helped for about a week and then the zits came back. When I saw the Murad infomercial I decided to try it out of desperation even though I thought I'd never buy anything from an infomercial. It helped that they offered a complete refund I figured I had nothing to lose. Also it was really cheap. $30 for a months supply. Anyway, it worked like a dream. My skin was cleared up in only three weeks. I haven't felt this good about myself in years. These Murad products are definitely not a scam. In fact, I find myself recomending them often.

I am a very sceptical person by nature, yet always willing to be open minded. Therefore when I read such negative comments meant to degrade a product based on an individuals experience I can't help but wonder if he/she truly did they're research. Are they aware of what how their lifestyle affects their skin? Do they eat nutritious foods? Exercise? Have a deeper skin disorder and where perhaps to impatient to see a dermatologist? When you buy a product specifically designed to cure a skin disorder be aware of these factors and know that everyones skin is different. Personally, I love Murad and have seen amazing results from it, but I am also a very well-educated esthetician who has had the benefit of treating many different skin disorders. This in no way implies that Murad is for everyone. I simply want to remind readers on this sight that through education, basic knowledge and the willingness to be open minded that they will find what works best for them. Good Luck!

Someone commented that Murad claims that Benzoyl Peroxide (BP) doesn't work on acne. That is not their claim, it's that BP doesn't work on all acne. It also doesn't work for all people, for some it irritates their skin further.

I have tried everything with and without a prescription. I tried the murad acne system and I love it! It did what accutane, retin A, pills, creams and yes, benzoil peroxide could not I strongly disagree witht the other users who did not like the product, and wonder if they truely gave all the products a chance
