I started NS two weeks ago. I like the food. It's not gourment, but hello, it's low fat people. I had hard time the first 3 days, but it's the same with any weight loss plan. You have an adjustment period. I have lost 11 lbs. I may not be able to continue due to finances, but I really just wanted something to get me back on track with portion control. NS does this. I will do another month, maybe more. I love the plan.

Okay, i can happily consider myself an authority on Nutrisystem having been on it for over twelve months and losing 60 pounds. To be absolutely truthful, nobody really needs Nutrisystem, this is something you could do yourself. Don't get me wrong, at the time I started, I needed Nutrisystem just to get me back on the straight and narrow because like most people my portion sizes had gotten way out of whack and I was almost out of control. I stopped Nutrisystem for two reasons, I could not face eating that food anymore, it is not nearly as bad as some folks make out, but 12 months of it, well, you get the picture, the second reason was, I just looked at the back of the meal packages and realised I can basically either do this myself or [] and other similar store bought meals are virtually the same (at a much reduced cost than NS). So, now I eat my cereal, fruit and yogurt in the am. a light snack or shake or energy bar for lunch along with fruit and some nuts, then either a nice big salad with a cup of salmon or a smaller salad, some chicken or a lean cuisine, it's that easy folks, no magic pill, but no huge monthly fees and boreing food. Good luck to you

My ex-girlfriend's dad bought nutrisystem back when we were dating. After just a short time, he was down 6 pounds. He kept losing the weight too. As they say on the commercial, results may vary

About 2 years ago, I used Nutri System and lost about 65 pounds. While the portions are small (hello, you're on a diet :) ), I found that once I adjusted to them, I was fine. I used the program for about one year, combined it with a daily walk of 2 miles (@ about 3-3.5 MPH), and successfully reached my weight loss goal. The key for me was to teach me portion control (I still watch my caloric intake). If you need to lose weight, don't give up. A system like this can help; it's easy to use, and once you get adjusted, you will lose weight! Two years later, I have not put back on one pound! I eat a sensible breakfast & lunch, control my portions with dinner and get my two-mile walk in.

My husband and I started this program because we have always had a hard time limiting our portion sizes. Once we hit over 40, it was worse. Stress and moving did not help. So, we decided one day to look into it. The boxes arrived and we started it on Valentines Day! My husband could not belive the amount of food he was taking for lunch, but I convinced him that he was surely eatting way more then that going out to lunch with the guys everyday. Our first weigh in after week one was 11 lbs for him and 9 for me! That kept us on track for the next week. (which was 2 more pounds for him and one for me) Overall, the food is really not that bad. There were some things we have sent back and are waiting on the replacements. Our favorites are the bean and ham soup and the cheesy potatoes for lunch! We are getting tired of eating salad twice a day, but hey, if thats all I can complain about and loose weight....not bad!

I'm just starting NutriSytem and am alarmed at how everyone says the food is bad. I used the program about 18 years ago and the food was good then. I'm hoping for the same this time. Back then we had to pay up front for the amount of pounds THEY said we had to lose, not the amount you wanted to lose. So the 12 pounds I lost cost me a total of $1200. I figured out. But I liked the food and I lost some weight. I liked the portability of the food and had restaurants actually heat the meat on the hamburger and bring me lettuce and tomato at no extra cost. I'm hoping you're all wrong in the taste factor or I guess I'm in for a very unpleasant surprise.

I know that every weight loss plan will have detractors. However, Nutri System has given me my life back. I am in my 5th month on the plan, and I have lost 99.2 pounds! I have never had as much ease with losing weight on any other plan as I have with Nutri System. When people ask me how I am losing my weight, I proudly tell them. I want everyone to know! Yes, you can deal with gas issues. Yes, substitutions have been a problem, although that is improving with the introduction of the new Advantage plan. However, I find the food to be very tasty, the add-ins to be reasonable, and the plan well laid out and easy to follow. I have not been hungry since my first few days, because my body had adjusted to eating normal portion sizes. The money I spend on Nutri System is not that much different from when I used to eat bad fast food all the time prior to beginning. Basically, I have no complaints at all! Nutri System is a plan, not a diet. It is a lifestyle change, which hopefully will allow me to maintain my weight loss when I hit my goal. I highly recommend NS to anyone. I really believe that anyone CAN and WILL lose weight on the plan.

I have been on this program fora year. 1st you must go into it as a assitance product to help you lose and maintain your weight. Second you must not blame the company when you know that all the provide is entrees and snacks. 3rd if you follow the plan to a tee you will lose wieght. Any weight loss program recommends a 1300 to 1500 caloric intake. Which means you should not drink alcohol and no you cannot eat more than is recommended. People have lost weight with the help of NS food because they enjoy it and follow the plan. Finally if you do not follow the plan do not complain. If you do not like the food do not order it. Those of us who have has success will tell you it is a life commitment. If you cannot make it please do not complain about it. Thge program works when done right.

I find it funny how many people complain about the taste. Eating "gourmet" food is what got us all heavy in the first place! I've lost over 20 pounds so far on NutriSystem. Slowly, methodically, at a HEALTHY rate of 1-2 pounds per week. I add spices and stuff to jazz up the food so it tastes good, and some of it is every bit as good as non diet food. Everyone seems to be looking for some "magical" plan that will allow them to drop 40 pounds in 2 weeks while eating huge portions of gourmet food. A diet requires a little sacrifice and some work! NutriSystem has been terrific with replacing substituted items, great customer service and a wonderful support board of real people who have succeeded.

I've been using NutriSystem for 6 weeks, and so far I've lost 33 pounds. It's not perfect, by any means -- the food is okay but not great, I've had some increased gas since I started (although that problem declined some after the first week), and the information they provide is not always clear. But for me, and for many others, it works. I plan to lose another 40, and I'm confident that I'll get there on this program. Obviously, tastes vary -- some people clearly find the food disgusting. But they do take food back. If you're returning something you ordered but don't like, you have to pay shipping. If they make a substitution in your order and you don't like what they give you, they will replace it without making you send back the original. And I've been able to get through to customer service when I needed to, although hold times were longer than usual at the start of the year due to all the resolution dieters calling up.

This was my 2nd go round with NutriSystem--I used it long ago when they had actual stores for distribution. When I decided to lose some pounds after the holidays, I signed up for Autoship on their website. I am a VERY cautious shopper and I have to say, they were the most honest company I've ever dealt with. Reaching Customer Service was a breeze--I never waited more than 5 minutes to talk to a live person. I lost 20 lbs. within 2 months. They are diet meals, but I didn't have a problem with the taste (and I even got the vegetarian program). It did teach me portion control. When I left the program because I was ready to be on my own, they were terrific--I cancelled, they stopped and they were nice about it. I don't work for NutriSystem and would report if it was bad, but the food was good, they were great, and I am one satisfied customer.

I started in Jan 07at 225 lbs, by the end of Feb 07 I was 205, I worked out 6 days a week and stuck to the meal program. I ordered my own food after the first month. This product was awesome. The italian food was great as was the plan. When I was done I cancled and they were very nice. I feel incredible, my wife did not like the food, she tried jenny craig but it was way too pricey compared. Two month of hard work and a little more expensive food was worth it. It is now July and I am fit and have changed my set point, lean and feeling happy. Nutrisystems was great, anyone that says otherwise will always be sad they did not stick to any program much less nutrisystems and make excuses, waiting for the perfect pill to come along.

My mom ordered this around a year ago, and managed to lose a good bit of weight. It's a bit pricey, yes, but it worked for her. When she called to cancel, they didn't bill us anymore, and didn't send anymore. Some of the stuff is okay, other stuff, not so much, but she could choose what she wanted in the order through the website. She recommends the lasanga dishes, both are quite tasty.

I used NutriSystem about 20 years ago with great success. I lost 7 pounds in the first week and averaged 3 pounds a week after that. At the time, NS was run out of brick and morter stores and I attended boring meetings but was able to select food at the store. I agree that the food was less than good, but it was designed for weight loss not sustainment. One man at the meetings told us he was using the product to lose weight under his doctor's orders and ended up with blood chemistry his doctor described as that of an 18 year old. I can't speak to the complaints about the current, mail-order business model, but I can believe that there are shortages of certain foods, there were in the store, too.

45 pounds off in 4 months, without really exercising (which you're encouraged to do, but I'm just lazy). Additionally, the low gylcemic index foods have had a nice impact on my blood glucose levels; my doctor and I are both thrilled. It's a bit pricey, but it works for me.
