I love this thing, it does an excellent job at cleaning the air in my home. My allergies and the allergies of my 5 yr old are greatly improved with this product. Yes, you do have to clean the unit every now and again, more so at first because the air in your home has not been purified yet. Once you use it for a while, you do not have to clean it as often. Very happy with this product.

I purchased an Oreck air filter at an estate sale for $50 and downloaded the manual off of the website. We have dogs, and the purifier does an amazing job of keeping dust and pet dander down in our bedroom. Cleaning it is a snap and it simply works. We dust less often as a result. We plan on purchasing a couple of others for use in the kitchen and in another area of the house. It's a great product, from our experience, although it is a bit pricey.

I have used this air cleaner for over two years. It has worked flawlessly. It lets you know when to clean it by sight or sound. I just rinse out the collector with water, let it dry and back in it goes. It needs cleaning in my home about every two months. It really takes the dirt and dust out of the air because you see the stuff wash off the collector. I have noticed better air in my home. I highly recommend this air cleanerto everyone! As with any product on the market, there will be lemons, but don't condemn all just because of a few bad ones. Thanks.

I've had my unit for several years now and it never gave me a problem. Sure pulled a lot of dust out of the air and my house stays cleaner longer. I do clean the Pre-filter and collecting cells whenever I hear the popping and snapping sound or the filter light turns red. Always let the collecting cells dry out before putting it back in the machine. I have not purchased the cleaning spray and wouldn't bother with it. Proper maintenance of this machine will keep it performing well for a long time. Very happy with it.

I bought two of these units for my apartment, my fiancee has bad allergies and we own two dogs which don't help the allergy situation. After buying the two units and putting one upstairs and one downstairs we could tell a drastic improvement in the air quality. As the person who reported these as a "scam" says, the filters do need to be cleaned occasionally when you hear popping on the cells, however I only clean my filter/cells once every 2 months, as for the spray, I bought a can of cleaner 4 months ago, and I haven't even used half of it. I highly recommend the Oreck Air Purifiers. They do a fantastic job. In some situations where the air is extremly dirty perhaps cleaning more often needs to be done, but that is only a testament to the air purifier that it IS DOING IT'S JOB and removing the junk out of the air.
