Been using this for years. Works as advertised. I will agree that the lid is tricky, and does require some force to secure, so folks with problems with their hands might want to abstain or get help. but you will know when the lid is secure by the click the lid makes. Please use the "gloves" that come with the pieces. Otherwise, a wonderful, well-made, and useful product.

My mother bought the Pasta Express for me after the stove in my apartment stopped working. My fiance and I had no way of cooking, so this was a welcome addition. By using an electric kettle and the Pasta Express, we were able to eat while we waited for the maintenance man to come. Sure, it took just as long to cook pasta in the Pasta Express as it did when we boiled it, it still cooked it thoroughly.

I purchased this item because my young son, who will eat nothing but pasta at mealtimes, can operate it on his own. It cooks the pasta reasonably well, and makes it easy for him to drain it and serve it. I also appreciated the fact that it came with a themal wrap to prevent burning ones hands. It cleans up easy, as well.
