This is the greatest product EVER!! Listen, ive had moderate to bad acne since i was 9! and now almost 22 i can say without a doubt, this works! In addition it can work for everybody but you have to know how to use it for your individual needs and skin type. I have oily skin, so i use the three step program day and night for the first week.... Then for mornings i switch every other day and continue with nights daily. After the initial shock treatment, if i see my face is over drying i give it a rest or visa versa.... only you can determine what your face needs but the product works you should just tailor it to your needs and be CONSISTENT... Don't be lazy, give up and say it doesn't work. I had stopped using it a while back ago and i was stressed and breaking out bad, so i went to my local mall and in just THREE DAYS my acne is gone, and for all you that say omg bleaching? Duh! theres bleach, how do you think the scars will go away..? If you have bad acne be patient and i HIGHLY recommend not to wear makeup for the first week or three depending on how bad you acne is. let your face breathe and concentrate on repairing it... I hope i helped some of you non-believers as for those who have an allergic reaction im sorry but thats not proactives fault neither yours, unfortunately sometimes thats the ay the cookie crumbles.... GOODLUCK!

My skin isn't terrible but I wanted to try the product to start a regular skin regimen. When I used it, it did make me break out more but that's NORMAL. I saw the complaints and people expect the product to instantly get rid of acne, and it takes time. I personally switched over to the gentle formula kit and it keeps my skin clear which is great! Proactiv Solution offers options to it's customers not only with the products but with the service, like shipping frequency, how you pay for your kits etc... And as far as the complaint goes for it bleaching fabrics it says on the bottle that the benzyl peroxide can bleach clothes. I think people need to be more patient and pay more attention with this product. It's a great product I also have most of the items out of the catalog and they are amazing!

I started using proactiv about three years ago. I had severe acne on my face, particularly on my chin, cheeks and forehead. When I first started using it, I freaked out because my skin got worse, but after about five or six weeks, everybody was telling me how good my skin looked, and my face was smoothe and clear. I\'ve been using it ever since, because it is the best product i\'ve ever tried and I\'ve had acne since I was nine years old, I am now nineteen. Proactiv did send me more each month, but I canceled it because I moved, all i did was send my check and write a note to them saying not to send any more. Now, I buy my proactiv from [], its cheaper, you just gatta find a good seller. If your skin gets irritated, use it once a day instead of twice. If your skin gets dry and flaky, use a good lotion following the repairing lotion, I recommend aveeno. thank you for reading and stick with it!

I started using ProActiv when I was about 16 or 17 years old. It was truly a blessing for me, it was the only product that got rid of my acne. I received the product on auto ship (and frankly don't understand people who are surprised by auto ship, it's not hidden by the company in any way) and after a while I had too much toner (a little goes a long way), so I called and the csr was extremely helpful and allowed me to change to two cleansers and one lotion. I do not currently use the product, but only because I am now 25 and no longer have the severe acne I once did. ProActiv gave me much more confidence in myself during those awkward adolescent years, and myself as well as my mother (who never used the product, just saw what it did for me)recommend the product to anyone who is looking for a solution to their problem. Thank you ProActiv!!
On another note, I work as a Pharmacist so I just wanted to say the Benzoyl Peroxide (the main ingredient in ProActiv) will not work for everyone, but if you truly have severe acne that is affecting your self esteem then I say it is at least worth the try. If it doesn't work, then fine, just cancel. Any product you use for acne has the possibility of causing drying of the face, both prescription and over the counter products have this as a possible adverse reaction. I wasn't treated rudely when I called to cancel, of course they tried to convince me not to (It's how they make their money!!)but were not rude. I will continue to recommend ProActiv to those in need.

I am currently 28 & I started using Procative in college. Prior to that, I had been to a dermatoligist & been prescribed various benzol peroxide treatments, Differin (was ok, gentle but nothing spectacular) & even internal antibiotics like Keflex. Nothing seemed to keep me from getting the deep painful pimples. My dad bought me my first kit because he had seen different testionies for a few months. I tried it & it did pull out the underlying pimples for a few weeks. I initially used the repairing lotion at night only. However it can still dry out your face. I didn\'t use the repairing lotion often at all & still after a month or so, my friends were even noticing my skin was healthier than ever. Initially the kits were coming before I used all the product & I found I was stocking up on repairing lotion which I rarely used. Proactive has been VERY flexible to work with. Now I get a \"kit\" every 16 weeks with 2 cleansers & one toner since I rarely use the repairing lotion. It is the perfect timing & portion for me. Now I rearely get any pimples & never get the deep painful ones.

I've read that a lot of people experienced more acne the first time they used it and got rid of it immediately. This product takes time and it is true that more acne will emerge. If your skin is acne-prone there is a bunch of acne hiding underneath the surface of your skin even if you can't feel it. Proactiv slowly lifts them as it zaps them away, but eventually they'll disappear. It's usual to panic but just be patient and let the magic sit in. For women, I'd suggest bare minerals if you need coverage. I've had a lot of scars before and this mineral make-up hid them all and now I have relatively good/clear skin. Proactiv + Bare Minerals = Good to go.

I love this product! I tried it when I was about 17, and it dried my skin out so bad that I stopped using it. My sister starting using it and her skin cleared up and was perfect. Two years later, my skin was getting bad again, so I decided to try it again. I am so glad I did because my skin cleared up within a month and I love it. Sure, sometimes I may get the odd pimple, but overall I am very satisfied.

Everyone is looking for a quick fix, the be all and end all of acne treatment. I think a lot of people are upset because they don't realize this is not personally tailored stuff, it WILL NOT work for everyone. I urge complainers to wait before they say "didn't work, this is crap", just because it didn't work for you and you are upset and frustrated (acne does this) you have to remember to be reasonable. Pro Active worked for me, i'm a lucky one to have found a prodcut that is compatible with my skin and that i love to use.
TRY IT. Just try it, but know that nothing is a 100% guarantee. It's ok to be upset, acne is a hard thing to deal with, but don't bash a prodcut and slander its name because it didn't solve your problem. It would be more proactive of YOU to go out and try something else, rather than wasting time writing angry comments and getting worked up about it. You may never find something that works 100%, or even 90%, but the point is to gather your strength and move on. You never know until you try and you have nothing to lose.

I have used Pro Activ for about 4 years and love this product. My son, how has terrible break outs due to puberty(hormones) uses Pro Activ also. If he misses a couple of days of Pro Activ, his break outs are bad, but will clear up overnight with just one use. It is a wonderful product, my pores are more refined and my skin is clear and bright. My daughter has beautiful skin, but uses Pro Active anyway to control the occasional pimple. We get comments all the time on our skin, my two teenagers and their 42 year old mom. The Refining Mask is also an excellent product. The skin lightner has lightened and removed dark spots and discolorations on my skin from overexposure to the sun and just from aging. We love Pro Activ and highly recommend it.

I have used Proactiv for months with no problem whatsoever. My skin is clear. I use the cleanser and the repairing lotion only. I do not use the astringent nor do I use the mask. My teenage daughter uses it too, without any complaints. I think everyone\'s reaction can be different. It works for some and for some, it does not. Thank God it works for me and my daughter. I\'m happy with it.

Personally, Proactive is the only acne product that has worked for me. I began breaking out around age 10-12 and my mom just kept saying "you'll grow out of it"...something I would never recommend saying to your child, much less letting that be your stance as a parent...it's just not right! Anyway, she would buy me the standard acne lotions you could get from the drugstore...I've tried them all! Well, those barely worked and I still broke out like crazy while they dried out my skin and made it turn pink. I got made fun of a lot during middle-school and high-school because of my skin, so I was very self-conscious. One kid even said something about "playing connect-the-dots" on my face when I was up in front of the class. Can you imagine? Around age 26 I found a professional product that worked somewhat better than the drugstore lotions, but I still had acne and had to use cover-up everyday in addition to my regular foundation. At age 28 I decided to give Proactiv a try. I started out with the basic 3-piece set and I don't recall how long it took until I saw great improvement, but I will say that it was within a few months and I rarely had pimples or had to use cover-up anymore. I sometimes now go out with just face powder on. This is something I would *never* dream of doing before Proactiv. Now at age 36 I can tell you I know I'm still oily...that characteristic hasn't changed much over time. What has changed is that my skin rarely breaks, I don't need cover-up and I've had people comment on what nice skin I have. Well...I wish that I had found Proactiv sooner. Too bad it wasn't available when I was in middle- and high-school. It truly would have made a big difference in my self-esteem. For those folks who experience dryness, I would recommend cutting the Repairing Lotion out of your routine. I don't recall what they tell you to do...use it twice a day? If so, cut it down to one or cut it out altogether. Personally, once my acne was gone and I began getting over-dry that's what I did. I now only use the Repairing Lotion for spot-treatments as needed...which is rarely. My routine now consists only of the Cleanser, Toner, Green Tea Moisturizer and Eye Treatment. The benzoyl peroxide in the cleanser is all I need now to keep my pimples away...no need for the leave-on Repairing Lotion. Also, I've never had a problem with customer service. They've always been helpful if I have questions. I hope my testimonial about Proactive helps someone decide to try a system that really can improve your life. I recommend it to anyone who is struggling with acne.

Proactiv definitely works for some, but not for others. I suppose this is the case with most acne treatments. I have a teenaged daughter and son, and the proactiv worked very well for my daughter (as it did for one of her female friends who recommended it), but did nothing at all for my son. After my daughter's face cleared up well for a couple of years, I thought we could try some of the cheaper drugstore treatments that claim to be as effective as proactiv, but we just re-ordered the proactiv, as the others didn't seem to work well for her. None of the Over-the-counter products worked for my son, so he's now on prescribed medication. So in summary, Proactiv proved to be very effective for one of my children, but useless for the other. When the third hits the "pimple years," I'd be willing to let him try it if necessary.

I've been using Proactiv for five years now and it's awesome. I tried Accutane, Retin-A, benzoyl Peroxide (all the over the counter ones), buff puffs, you name it. I do have to use it morning and night EVERY DAY, or I will break out. But as long as I use it every day...my skin looks great!! I've never had any problems with ordering or billing either. I think the people who are angry about Proactiv are the few people it didn't work for. It works for some, not for others.

I have been using Proactiv for over about a year and I wish I had started using it sooner. My skin was terrible and dermatologists were unable to help me. My niece who swears by Proactiv had been telling me for years to use it and I finally caved in one day and ordered it. My skin is gorgeous now! So many people, especially those who know me for a long time give me so many compliments. I really wished I had started using it sooner, I felt so bad about how my skin looked for so long. Just like many people, the first week using it was rough...my face was itchy and red and dry but after the first week the redness and itchiness was gone. I\'m glad I stuck with it, it has made such a difference. I highly recommend this product.

I always use proactive and my skin looks great. When my husband uses it, I run out and my skin looks bad again. Until I get more product. I need to increase my shipment times since he likes it to now. I can't use the Benzoil peroxide formula it is too harsh. I'm allergice to it. If you have had problems switch to the sensitive it works great. Oh by the way break outs are common when you begin a new skin care program. Give it a full month. You will see results.

proactiv does work. murads did'nt work. so honestly somethings work only for some ppl. you have to find whats right for you. i realized that by only using the repair lotion, my face got much better. the cleanser is too harsh so just try the repair lotion with a oil free moisturizer and try a gentle face wash. trust me it will get better.

I am for proactiv and against it. I'm a 27 yr old male and had bad acne ALL my life. I used accutane, blue light lazer treatment, prescriptions, and every over-the-counter med possible. It worked kick ass for the first 3 months and then my face must have gotten used to it. It still works better than any other treatment I used but not as potent anymore. I used Murad for 6 months and that stuffed sucked! Too much money too! My advice - Use Proactiv but cycle off for one month and use some over the counter soap. Then cycle back on proactiv so your face won't get used to anything.

I can understand why a percentage of users are dissatisfied with the product. I purchased proactiv from [], and the representative was extremely informative and helpful. I was told that this product is not appropriate for sensitive skin or for those allergic or sensitive to Benzoyl Peroxide, and I bet many of those dissatisfied people had a sensitivity issue they didn't know about until they tried the product. I was also told that dryness of the skin can be an issue for some people, depending on how often it is used. The representative advised me to begin using the system only once a day for 1-2 weeks to give my skin time to adjust to the product. It was also recommended that I use an oil-free moisturizing sunscreen of at least SPF 15, and this is VERY IMPORTANT. Not using a sunscreen with this system can cause even more irritation as sunlight can react with the Benzoyl Peroxide and cause redness and a possible rash. I use my own oil-free sunscreen with an SPF 45. The product labels clearly state that a sunscreen must be used before going out into the sun. I have used this product as directed on the label and with the information provided to me when I physically purchased the product, and I have been satisfied with the results. I have a very oily T-zone, which is where I mostly break out, and drier skin on my cheeks. When I'm using the product, I mainly focus on this T-zone area, and it controls the oil and clears the acne to my satisfaction. My skin has been a bit drier (a known side-effect, same as most other acne treatments), but using an oil-free moisturizer (with sunscreen) after each application takes care of this problem, and I have had no irritation or rashes of any kind. So the bottom line is: proactiv isn't for everyone. I suspect it works for most people who have typical, average skin. If you have never used such a product before (I have never previously used any other product containing Benzoyl Peroxide), then you won't know how you will react to it until you try it. Also, of course, if you have sensitive skin, don't use proactiv; it isn't made for you. And make sure you a use a sunscreen!

I've been reading the complaints & the success stories...I had a success with Proactiv, which by the way, I no longer use (once I went into menopause my hormonal fluctuations changed and now "wrinkles" are what I worry about....the acne pretty much subsided). I started on Proactiv in 1997....a very bad year for me, I was stressed out to the max and my face really showed it! I ordered Proactiv and it worked like a miracle. Their customer service was always great. Yes, they do "auto-charge" your credit card for the price of product + delivery charges that were always a little higher than I thought they should be. But, on the "plus" side may face looked great and I stopped wearing makeup to cover the acne. I wish I'd had the chance to try something like this when I was a younger person...my skin would be much nicer today! The thing I remember is that it took about 10-12 weeks until my face really cleared up....if you have really bad acne, it may take a while for everything to come out of your skin and clear. Also, don't "overuse" it thinking "more" will work better! My guess is that some of the teenagers that get this product are looking for instant gratification....something I remember from those years! Take it easy, use it as directed and I think you'll see results! Wish they made something for "mature" skin.......
