Hey my name is Bill and this product REALLY works. I tried using it about 2 1/2 years ago. SInce the day I tried it. It has worked GREAT. All my young life I had tried to get rid of acne. I went to the dermatolgist and went through countless products...Clearsol, Neutrogena and prescriptions....none of them worked. Then I ordered proactive and have loved it ever since. THANK YOU PROACTIVE

I started using ProActiv a few months ago and as an older woman I find it has made a definate difference in my skin. The problem with ProActiv is that it has a strict regimen to follow and if you can't do it properly, I suppose it will not work. I admit that at first use, I was not following the rules and it did not work as well. Certainly there will be a percentage of users that this just will not work for but for ther other 85%, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS...it's all just a part of being responsible. And just another hint, no you will not look in the mirror and look like Jessica Simpson or Kelly Clarkson.

I'm amazed at all the complaints for this product. I have had minor skin problems all of my life, but once I started menopause it seemed to be out of control. I had tried EVERY over-the-counter product for acne and nothing helped. I even started taking doctor prescribed Minocyclin, which helped some but definitely not enough. At wits end, I ordered Proactive. My gosh, it was a MIRACLE CURE. I love it. I saw results the first week. I use the basic kit, PLUS the makeup. I can now even use the sheer tint moisturizer instead of makeup.... I have NEVER in my life been able to use a sheer tint. My pores are smaller, my skin is soft & smooth, and I'm HAPPY. It's amazing. Two girls in my office started using it after they saw my results, and they love it too.

I am an international user of this product. I tried it around eight years ago and it worked for me. Before using it, I break out almost once a month and mostly cured it with medicine. There is no doubt that the skin condition was no good when usually in a cycle of break out. After using proactiv solution, for me it tooks around 2-3 weeks to evidence the improvment. It's not as fast as medicine, but for the pimple thing, patient is very important. I have returend to my country six years, just two years ago, too many pressure from work cause my skin becomes very week and of course pimple again. I tried many custometic and medicine..and did not work out anyway. Then I thought of proactive solution the ever success product I've ever used before. (actually, it tooks me some time to seek on web site becuase I only remember Pro- somthing...) So I started to buy it internationally since last year. The proactiv solution for me isn't save 100% pimple of my face, but it keeps my face becomes much steady from before. Even sometimes I still have some pimples, but it never break out now. And with a much steady skin type, I will be able to do some skin treatment to make it more stronger to defense pimple. It's a cycle. But, since I saw many Proactiv solution representative here, I want to ask when I can receive my next kit. It's pending for one month now and keeps pending. I am eager to have it in hand.

I have been using proactive for two years and love it. It is the best product I have ever tried. I recommend it to people and I have not come across anyone with problems. It is obvious some of the people have had an allergic reaction of some kind. Redness, pain and swelling is an allergic reaction. Your doctor should be able to to tell you that.

this is not just for ProActiv Solution but for all Guthy-Renker products!! When you call and place an order and then call back 5 minutes later and try to cancel. you cant! They are not trying to screw you! it is just impossible to cancel an order once its placed, There is just no options in the computer to do it! maybe you should take the time to think about it before you go through with the order! and if the person you are ordering from on the phone is not very helpful, or has a thick accent or you just dont like them then hang up and call back or ask for the customer service number..make sure your asking if it will be recurring shipments, how many times will i be charged? act like a responsible adult before ordering products. if your unable to do this then you dont deserve to handle a credit card. Guthy-Renker is NOT a scam, they are 100% reliable, it is clearly stated EVERYWHERE what you are ordering! you stupid people are so frustrating!

First of all i would like to start out by saying i agree 100% with every word that was said by the very long anonymas comment that worked as a rep for 2 yrs. second of all-I got a kick out of it that almost everyone that had complaints spelled ProActiv wrong. lol anyway. I too was a customer service rep for ProActiv and i would just like to state that long before i ever worked there my mom bought me a kit, being the inpatient teenager that i was i used it for a week or so and gave up.I went ahead and kept the kit but my mom cancelled the account. i liked the repairing lotion so i put it in my purse and every time my skin felt dry i would put it on. BIG MISTAKE! I then became employed as a cust serv. rep and was trained extensivly on the product. First of all, Dime size amount of cleanser next if you have a refining mask put it on your entire face for 10 mins then rinse completely,(only 3 times a week) has sulfur to help absorb extra oil.) 2nd step-toner- 2 squirts! apply to the entire face DO NOT RINSE! 3rd step-after toner dries apply a PEA size amount of repairing lotion. this may say lotion but it is not, it has benzoil peroxide and is very important to use correctly! this is the product that causes so much dryness and irritation...cut back on it if it does. i recomend following with an oil free moisturizer or my personal favorite the Green Tea Moisture. Do this every single day, EVERY MORNING AND EVERY NIGHT! your skin is not going to clear overnight, after learning how to properly use it i tried again, it completely cleared my entire face.just like anything, you have to stick to it, and as for the people who complained about it breaking them out more, that is normal with any change in your skin care regimen, plus ProActiv is designed to bring all the dirt, oil and impurities (the zits that other wise would have popped out next week, to the surface, it is designed to bring out all of those impurities and prevent any future break outs as well as clear what you have, i have listened to people cry to me becuase this product was so life changing for them! it changed my life as well! To every single one of those complaints who said it didnt work-here is GREAT EXAMPLE- when you start a diet and start walking 30 minutes a day. do you lose 50 lbs that first week? NO!! it takes time, you lose a little at a time, it doesnt just all dissapear at once does it? same with ProActiv you have to stick with it. Take advantage of the 60 day money back guarantee, if you still dont see the results you want call customer service and we will be more than happy to help find a solution that works for you, whether it be an extra strength formula or a gentle formula or just extend your money back guarantee a little longer and give you more time to try what you have.. i dont make commision and i could care less if you guys want to have the product or not, I just dont want to read or hear badmouthing on a great product that doesnt deserve to have bad comments, has helped millions of people and really works if you take ten minutes out or busy day to use it correctly. I stand behind ProActiv Solution 150%

First of all, I want to make it clear that Proactive did not work for me. The reason I'm defending it is because I read some complaints from people who returned their product and cancelled, but continued being billed and did not receive their credit for the return for several months. I cancelled and the company cancelled immediately. I had no problems. I returned my unused product and they issued a credit back to my visa within two weeks. Not bad. So even though it doesn't work for A LOT of people, it really is risk free so go ahead and try it I guess!

I heard Proactiv worked pretty well for a lot of people, and a friend at the time recommended it, since she'd been on it for a while. There was a kiosk at the mall for Proactiv so I figured why not take a shot. I got the full set for 70 bucks (now I think it's cheaper). It took about a week or two to see some results, but I could definitely feel them within a week. People who are saying this doesn't work probably either aren't doing it every day, not doing it right, or they're part of the SMALL percentage that this stuff simply won't work on.

I have been using proactive for a year now and my skin looks great. My skin is free of acne the only thing is that it doesn't get rid of the blackheads on my nose, but I use biore nose strips to take care of that. I'm sorry that it didn't work for some of you.

For 2 years I worked as a customer service agent for a call center taking calls for Proactiv Solution, no I do not defend the product itself because I used it and it absolutly did not work for me, and having gone under extensive training to know how to use the product, and how the product was meant to work, I know it was used correctly and just didnt work... not to upseting because honestly sometimes you just need something different, yes it is very true it works for 85% of people,(just as its advertised) unfortunatly I was in the 15% it didnt work for, and that should be expected, and yes I did speak with many, many customers wishing to be in the infomercial because it worked so well for them. Anyway, I got my money back, no problem, I do however wish to defend the customer service provided by Proactiv. Some of the complaints I read were regarding ordering on the web. This was also a major complaint of customers calling while I worked for the Company. When visiting proactiv.com, of course the 1st thing you see is a picture of a kit and the "glowing" icon that sais "order now" when you click on that a bunch of different kits pop up, the pictures and prices and a brief explination of what is being ordered, then you click the icon saying "add to cart", a picture of your choice pops up and to the right of that, in BOLD letters it sais the kit name an price, and under that in the same size font (however not bold) it states "By ordering now, you will receive a two month supply of our 5-piece club package every 60 days, and your credit card will be billed $59.95 plus $7.95 shipping and handling for each shipment." (this was copied and pasted directly from that page, with the 5 pc kit.) What is so decieving about this? Ok so I guess it can be a little easy to overlook, especialy when your excited, or some people have their kids order, but an e-mail address is also required to order. An e-mail is directly sent 48 hours after the order saying "Welcome to the Club you will be recieving your kits every 60 days unless requested otherwise by contacting customer service at ____ phone number." Sadly if you have a Spam Gaurd, it probly wont get through, understandable miscommunication, but then when the kit arrives, there is a window type envelope glued to the box with your name/address on the letter inside, and on that letter, you have a reciept attatched to the bottom of this it states "your credit card has been charged $____ and will be charged for all subsequent shippments, you can expect your next shipment of the __peice kit the week of___, to make any changes, or to cancel please contact customer service at ________", But you know sometimes you just dont read it, you just want whats in the box and dont even read the information provided, or the kids get it 1st. Again this is understandable, the thing of it is, when the next kit goes out, and charges the account, people call just livid because the money has been withdrawn from the account, first of all, this is not illegal, or really even deceptive, every possible attempt is made to make you aware. This is not illegal activity, as many customers seem to imply, or in my opinion, its not even really deceptive, but everyone is entitled to thier opinon. Second, 9 times out of ten, the rep you speak with will post a refund that day anyway, and request that the customer not open and refuse the package upon recieval so it can come back, no cost through the USPS as long as its un opened, Proactiv gets billed for it, and while it seems like a measely 5.95 to a huge company, it adds up, the one agent that wont give a credit the day of the call, request their supervisor, they will credit you, and tell the rep that they should have done it before it got to this point. It does sometimes take a bank 3-5 days to post a credit, that has nothing to do with proactiv, some banks just operate that way, there is nothing that can be done about that on Proactiv's end. Sorry. The next complaint I read, and also was a common complaint while I worked for the company, when customers wanted to cancel the account and the rep they speak with asks questions, or makes offers for customers to continue to get orders, well, if the product didn't work for you, wouldn't you want to know you used it correctly, or even if there was a different formula that could possibly be better for you? Or if you had just way to much of the stuff, wouldnt you want to be informed "hey you dont have to pay $12 extra to buy it when you can customize your kits, or have them sent to you further apart." Or better yet, if you love the product, you just hate the idea of having an automatic withdraw from your account, guess what, you can have a paper bill sent attatched to your kits. It doesnt hurt to take in the information that is offered, and if you just dont have time, tell the rep that. The final big complaint I remember is, the "60 day money back guarentee." Yes it is offered, it's stated on TV and in any peice of literature proactiv sends, they are proud of that. Most times it can even be extended past that, just by calling and explaining your situation, now 6 months past, no matter the situation, unfortunatly, there is just nothing that can be done, even if it is 100% unopened, Proactiv does have an expiration date. It's almost like buying milk from the grocery store, not using it for a month, then taking it back for a refund, after it's bad. Now unfortunatly, sometimes when you call customer service you just get the person with the worst attitude to answer your phone call, sadly everywhere you go, someone has to be like that, this is something that is true even with some Proactiv reps. They just cant catch them all, unless they know, customer complaints are taken very seriously, Proactiv tracks them, monitors them, and if it is an ongoing thing, fires them, Zero tolerance. If you have a problem with who your talking to ask for the supervisor, or manager. Sometimes it's the persons 1st day and it seems like they dont know what the heck the are doing, or they arent as well informed as you feel they should be, again ask for a supervisor or manager. I'm definatly not trying to say that the customer service is perfect with Proactiv solution, I had seen kits ship earlier than they should have or later than they should have, I had seen orders not process, addresses incorectly submitted, so on and so forth, but it is an operation ran by human beings, not robots, humans make mistakes, all it takes is a phone call to fix the problem.

Please, do not listen to anyone who is trying to discredit this company. try it before you make a decision. I estimate 1 in every 15 teens use thiir products to reduce and prevent acne. People trying to say they \'are a scam\' are full of themselves...yes, they need an extra 50$ and are out to get it from you. Both my mother and sister use this product as well as myself. I usually dont tell people because I consider it a secret of my good looks...Try it, there is a fraction of a % chance it will not work for you. My acne has been cut to 5% of what it would be otherwise, and ive been using for 4 years now. IT WORKS.

I was weary of using the product but wanted to make sure I tried it if I was giong to represent it. I did try it, and my face broke out significantly. However after a few more weeks, it began to dissapear. I have been using the products for over a year and my face has never been better! For the people who order online, it says clearly 4 times that you are signing up to recieve automatic shipments and will be charged for each. Quit complaining if you aren't going to read EVERYTHING before you place your card information online! Also, if you have sensitive skin... try it as a club member then switch over to the sensitive kind...

I\'m a 21-year-old guy; I started using this stuff when I was 17. It seriously helps, way more than anything else I\'ve used. It\'s a bit pricey, but I put t on a credit card, and don\'t even notice the expense anymore -- it\'s a basic bill for me, like my cell phone or car insurance (just as important!). The product isn\'t that much of a hassle to use: step 3 involves applying a product to your face, which they don\'t discuss in the commercials, but it isn\'t noticeable. One nice thing is that Proactiv actually does moisturize your skin -- if I don\'t use it, my skin drys out after a shower (though it may just be my body has aclimated to the stuff, I don\'t know). Anyways, the results are the most important thing, and they\'re definatly substantial. When I first ordered the stuff, I\'d tryed a ton of differant products from the HBA department of [] or my grocery store, and nothing really helped; I was considering scheduling an apointment with a dermitologist, but I decided to just try Proactiv instead. It was hugely effective, and it only took a few weeks to fully kick in. My skin still isn\'t perfect, but it\'s very close. I still develop occasional dots of light redness, but nothing severe; I\'m never embarresed by my skin anymore. When I stop using Proactiv for an extended period of time, like a week or so (like when I go on vacation and forget to bring it), the effect is very noticable. So yeah, I highly recommend Proactiv.

I began using Proactiv 7 years ago. It has not been a miracle, but it has worked better than any other products I've tried. It will not be compatible or work for everyone, that is ridiculous as me saying Chanel foundation is a scam because it made me break out. They are pretty straightforward in my opinion about recurring payments and kits being sent within set time periods. I had no problems asking them to send me packages every 4 months instead of 2. I had no problems canceling my membership either (I later reordered because my skin started misbehaving again less than a year later), I was never overcharged.

I'm 38 and STILL have acne. I went to the dermatologist, and his solutions hadn't worked well for me. Then my wife decided to try the Proactive stuff based on what a friend of hers said. I didn't really use this stuff as directed. I did for the first 2 weeks, and then after that I would forget the 3rd step. Still, my wife an I both noticed huge improvements within a month. This really worked better than anything that I had tried in my life and I had gone to at least 3 different dermatologists since high school. When I stop using it, the acne comes back, but instead of appearing overnight like the acne used to, it takes weeks, and ever since I have used Proactive, even when I stop using for mopnths at a time, my acne never comes back to the levels where it was just before we bought it. My outbreaks are mild & stressed-based, and I only use it now once in a while. I am convinced that if I used it correctly everyday, I would never see another blemish For those that say that they had itchy or burned skin, I never had any of these problems. In fact, my skin feels nice and refreshed after usage. They must have had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients or something. Maybe it's wise to try it on a weekend just in case you turn out to be allergic. The first step smells like a really nice and mild suntan lotion and it feels like a gentle exfoliator. The 2nd step feels refreshing and clean (almost like it is to your skin what mouthwash is to your mouth). The 3rd step feels like a thin skin creme or something.

I have been using the product for about a year, and I have seen a big change on my face. I use it once a day and it is very clear, I use to have cyst acne which were large and ugly. But i think if you do not over use it you should not have any problems. The company does day that it is automaticaly taken out of your account, so commend sense would tell you if your not happy with the product you should call them write away. I remember not getting one of my shipments and they sent me a special gift for the trouble. So they do try to resolve your problem you just need to understand and read all the information.

12/22/2006 - Anonymous writes:
First off, I will not lie. I work for the retail division of the company (the mall kiosks), not the mail-order club. Even before working there, I remember seeing the infomercials nightly, stating that after your first order, they will you up for their "clear skin club" and automatically send recurring shipments, and then bill your card. They explain this on EVERY commercial, so I do not understand how people complain about not knowing their card would be charged. Second, I do not see how people get angry about Proactiv bleaching fabrics. Benzoyl peroxide, the main ingredient, should first-off set a trigger in one's mind that it could possibly be related to hydrogen peroxide, which is known for bleaching. With that being said, as someone else pointed out, it is printed on the bottles and brochures that it may cause bleaching. To give my rebuttal for the product in general, I think people need to understand what causes acne first, to then understand why Proactiv does work (not for everyone, but it is not just a "crap" product as some claim). Acne is caused by the inability for the skin to slough off its cells regularly, which in turn form a plug when they come in contact with sebum (oil). The natural bacteria in the skin inhabit this area, causing what we know as pimples. The cleanser manually exfoliates (as opposed to chemically, like in salicylic acid) and breaks away dead skin cells that can clog pores, the toner helps to soothe the skin (which is important; you don't need to attack your skin, it will only make it worse), and the repairing lotion is your topical benzoyl peroxide medication which helps to kill the bacteria. As with any medication, topical or oral, it takes time for it to work. The usual time for the skin to react is 2-6 weeks. The reason is that Proactiv is a preventative medication above all. It will help to purge your skin of the bacteria already present, but basically improves your skin by doing what it cannot do on its own. (sloughing off dead skin cells, constantly fighting the bacteria BEFORE it becomes a huge problem). People may have their complaints, but many times it is due to human error. Some people do not massage the cleanser into the skin for the full two minutes, skip a few steps, or skip a few days even. The new commercial for the 30 day supply is actually a set-back for the product in my opinion. Many times the supply does not last long enough to see results, and people just give up. Also, if you have ever seen one of the kiosks, you may notice our "mini-maintenance kit". Many people believe they can buy that just to try the product, when in fact it is only about a 2 week supply (meant for convenient travel, especially with today's air restrictions). 2 weeks is not enough time for ANY treatment, and I personally see it as a waste of money. You could spend double that amount, and get 2 months instead of 2 weeks. In closing of this long rebuttal, I just want to say that there will always be skeptics about any product, no matter what I or any trained sales person (yes, we actually have to be knowledgable about acne and the products), will be always able to leave you with a friendly feeling. However, just think about something logically (and economically, for those who believe this to be one big marketting scam). If the product did not work for the majority of the people, Proactiv would not be in business anymore. If the refunds outweighed the satisified customers, there would be no profit. Yes, I sell the product. Yes, I even use the product (choose to believe if you will). I just want to say that it is really worth the chance. If you are worried about the "club", you can probably find a kiosk in your local mall. You can come and talk to any one of us, and bring any questions you might have. The refund process is easier there, if you pay with a card (cash and checks go through a processing), plus you don't worry about shipping costs. The costs at the kiosks are a little bit more, depending on location, but you also don't have to wait for the mail. The only thing I ask is that you let us talk to you, before coming up and deciding what products are best for you. Many times people just go for the 3 piece system, but if you have extra oily or dry skin, we have other systems to help with the situations that other people complain about.

I use Proactiv... I have not seen the fantastic results promised, but my skin is gradually getting better. The refining mask works very well. Basically, I have read through the complaints here and I just wanted to post a warning that comes with the Proactiv products. "This product may cause irritation, characterized by redness, burning, itching, peeling or possibly swelling. Keep away from eyes, lips, and mouth. Avoid product contact with hair and dyed fabrics, including carpets and clothing which may be bleached by this product. If going outside, use a sunscreen." There it is, in plain english. The problem with some people is they don't take the time to READ things. That's why warning labels are there. I'm sorry some of you have had bad experiences, but obviously you didn't take this warnings seriously, you did not read the directions (for example GENTLY massaging renewing cleanser into face) or you didn't read any of the packaging. You just slapped this stuff on your face and thought you'd wake up with peaches and cream skin. I like Proactive so far, although it is taking much longer than I expected to work. Perhaps this is because I have to periodically reduce the application to once a day because of dryness (guess what- I learned I could do that from READING THE PACKAGE). At any rate the moral of the story is read, [].
