I LOVE this product. I have had acne for years, since in high school and this is the only thing that has worked for me. I avoid the automatic shipping by buying through a third party []. It's the best stuff EVER!!!!

I have used this product for close to 10 years. I went to a dermatologist prior to using proactive for 1 year. I ended up on antibiotics for more than 6 months, which is a no-no in itself. I finally quit going when he wanted to treat me with a medication that would require me not to become pregnant for at least 5 years after quitting the medication. This seemed a bit crazy to me. I do not believe in miracle treatments, and don't necessarily think this product works for everyone. I agree, it does initially burn, and if you use it as directed, it can really irriate your skin. However, if you use just one of the products, such as the renewing lotion, toner, or body scrub, you may have better results. When first using the product, I used all three basics. My skin was irritated. Eventually I dropped the toner, and used the body scrub (not the facial cleanser) and the renewing lotion (but not necessarily every day). I found the results to be much better. I think some skin is just more sensitive than others, and you can definately overdo a good thing. I am a firm believer in using what works. For me it is a combination of things, not just one product. I have found that using the Deep Cleansing Body Scrub, and renewing lotion from Proactiv, but followed by [] fighting lotion is the trick. Without this combination, my skin does not do nearly as well. You may just have to play around with different products until you find your combination that works for you. As for Proactive, I think it is absolutely the best product for me, and has been the only way to keep my skin clear. When I do run out of the product, I can definately tell a difference. After about two weeks, my face is covered in acne.

I actually bought/buy the product [] to avoid the automatic charges and shipments. I love the product though. Makes my skin soft and smooth and minimizes breakouts. I don't have bad acne but I do get the occasional pimple. The only time I find that I will still occasionally get one is when I get out of a habit of using the Proactive.

I had tried all kinds of acne products, none of which worked. When I saw Proactiv Solution advertised on TV, I decided to order it for myself. I actually FOLLOWED the DIRECTIONS exactly, and I experienced absolutely no discomfort, apart from a little tingle, but not a sting. And I noticed results within the first five days of using the product. My acne was, and still is, completely cleared up since two weeks after the initial use. Proactiv is a great product if used as directed, and it is highly recommended!

well, i have been a proactiv believer. i have used this product for several months now and i am a wholeseller and make a profit selling it so i must use it. my whole family uses it. however, all of you who use all three steps at once are very fooish. you ought to know better. if your face starts burning dont use so much or dont use it twice a day. all of you who havent tried proactiv it works and is not a scam!

My skin is quite susceptible to a variety of conditions. Pimples: you got it, jock itch, yup, even if I use non-antiperspirant deodorant I'll get little black spots and a nasty icth. Proactive completely cleared my face inside ten days. Now please, I'm not calling anyone stupid or trying too insult anyone's intelligence, but the problem might very well be by how your applying it. I find thirty seconds is all I need for the cleanser, also sweating after or during the application of the repairing lotion can cause some irritation (I find anyway), or maybe your one of the few whose skin reacts badly too it. That however, doesn't make it a scam. As for the finacial complaints, well... they're a company trying to sell you somthing. I don't know how many times I've gotten into problems with [] (If only they had a proverbial neck I figurately wring sometimes). I mean , come on, I personally buy whatever in the store for crying out load, and they still get wrong on my [] card! Anyway, thats what happens when money is involved, just give 'em hell untill you get your money back.

I have used this Proactive for about 5 years now and it has been very effective.  The facial wash did irritate my skin because it was too strong, so I stopped using it.  However, the toner and the repairing lotion has worked wonders on my face.  With Proactive, you do not have to have a shipment done every four months, you can set it up to fit your needs.  At one point I had buiit up a supply of the products, so I had my order changed to where they only sent it to me twice a year.  I was also able to customize my order.   Instead of getting the facial wash, I started getting two toners and one repairing lotion.  Since I can now buy it locally in our mall, I have since then cancelled my membership and I did it over the phone and my account was not debited anymore.  In using any product, just remember it is not meant for everyone because some people's skin are more sensitive then others and sometimes there could be an underlying cause to your acne in which you may need to see a dermatologist.  In my opinion it is not a scam and the product works very well.

I used Proactive back when it 1st came out.  It actually caused me to have more pimples as it cleaned out the impurities; but it was fewer and my skin was visibly healthier from the VERY 1st night I used it.  My mother and friend noticed.  My friend used it several years later and it worked for her.  I used it for only a year and my skin did go through withdrawl as it attempted to function on its own.  Tip:LISTEN when you order!

I can't believe all of these messages about Proactive!  For ten years, I had terrible acne.  I tried EVERYTHING under the sun and then I tried Proactive.  It made my skin worse for a couple months, but I was told by friends to keep using it.  I ended up not using the cleanser, but I use the toner and the cream - and it's AMAZING.  My skin is clear for the first time since I was a child and I'm not embarrassed to go out without makeup on.   I know that their customer service isn't great, but I can't say enough about the product.  It worked for me after visits to three different dermatologists.  It does work - but maybe just not for everyone.

I have used this product for 6 years and it continues to wrk on me.  Friends of mine have tried it withouit much success.  Everyone is different.  It was a miracle for me, which cleared my skin the day i stared using it.  Proactive is not a scam.  Once you order you are enrolled in what they call the "club."  All it means is they send you out a 3 month supply of product every 3 months.  If you don't want it - just cancel or change the time between receiving shipments.  I receive mine every 6 months now.   If I ever received shipments I didn't order, the company not only refunded my $ for the 3 months of product sent to me in error, but also sent me an extra 3 months of product for free. Wow!  They have been so easy to deal with & the stuff works!

I LOVE this stuff!!! I had acne since I was a teen and on through my adult years....I am 32 now. I didn't just have pimples, I had boil like acne that took a month or more to go away and left many scars. I tried everything over the counter and prescribed. The last antibiotics prescription I used was Minocyclene but the nausea was too much. I tried Proactive and have been using it for over 2 years now...minor hormonal break outs (1 or 2 pimples)...but that's all.

10/25/2005 - Lisa writes:
My two teenagers use proactive.   One has very oily skin and proactive has worked wonders for her.  The other has drier skin and can only use it sparingly, maybe once after a breakout, but it helps her, too.

I LOVE PROACTIVE! The first thing the photographer of my senior portraits asked was how I had managed to have a nearly perfect complextion, I just smiled and said proactive. (I know that sounds cheesey but it really did happen that way!) I have been using it for almost 5 years now! I admitt I did have to use it in spurts- every other year I would take six months off of it- but thats only because my skin got to used to it, so I had to switch it up. But I will always go back to proactive! I have introduced many friends to it, and some of them have success and some of them don't. Many that don't have success with the product is due to skin allergies or the high hydroxide benzophenone content, but what can they do. If proactive was to lower the strength it probably wouldnt work so well with people with really bad cases of acne. Maybe they should come out with a seperate softer proactive for those with sensitive skin...  Also, it is a bit expensive- but thats why we have good ol' sites like []! ^.~

i've been a proactiv solution user for the past 7-8 years.  growing up, i never had acne.  once i turned into an adult, i broke out constantly.  i tried everything - nothing worked, i even went to the doctor, that didn't work either. i saw the proactiv commercial and figured i'd try it.  to my shock and happy surprise, it worked and has worked ever since.  i'd say i'm an infomercial queen, this is the only one that has worked and is true to their word.

What a difference.  I started breaking out about two years ago when I turned 30. The only reason I triend Proactive is because a booth in one of our shopping centers was selling the Proactive solution. WOW!  Two weeks later I notice a difference. Now three months later and I am still clear to the point people comment on how great my skin looks.  The only makeup I need to wear now is eye liner, mascara, and some color on my cheeks/lips.  No more concealer or foundation for me! Just remember - like healthy eating, Proactive is not a one time   fix.  Proactive is a continuous regime. The only times I will ever break out (and that is usually only 1 or 2 small pimples) is if I have not used proactive for several days or around my period if my hormones have gone completely mad. I would recommend Proactive to anyone who has mild acne issues.  If proactive does not work for you, you will need to see your dermatologist for tetracylin or acutane.

I love this product! Just after high school is when I began breaking out. I'm almost 30 and I've tried just about every product on the market (over the counter), costly dermatologist visits and prescriptions (waste of money), different diets and vitamins. This is the only product that has worked. It is expensive but works. The added self confidence justifies the price. I still do have the occasional breakout when I'm really stressin' or around that time of the month. But they are very minor. To anyone who feels like nothing will work on their skin, it's worth a try.   -Katie

All i can say is that proactiv was a godsend to me...and as far as it irritating that guys skin in the previous complaint, you have to use it as directed and slow at first or it will irritate, it did to mine for a short period of time. My acne was huge, achy, ugly gross acne all over my face, and ive used it for a while now and i am all clear!!! its even fadin scars!

I am here to defend Proactiv. I may not work for everyone but it certainly works for me and my friends. I still get the occasional pms breakout or blemish but other than that my acne has cleared up from my chest and my back. My face has improved. I think that you have to follow directions and use it everyday, morning and night. I highly recommend Proactiv to anyone.
