I have this, and the new "Transfirmer" and LOVE the product, and the videos, but I agree, do not order directly from the Firm, you do not speak to a real person, and you wait weeks for it to arrive. Also, they have so many "free" offers that they try to sell you, you really have to listen well, and say No over and over, but this is a great product, when they say results within 10 work outs, in my case I agree with that! just order from [], or other website!

The Firm Body Sculpting Systems are excellent workouts. I've used their videos for years to keep myself in shape. I agree, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired, but there are plenty of other places to buy the product, like [], [], and discount stores. Don't let bad customer service scare you away from an excellent product!

I have been a Firm Believer since my son was born in 2003 when I ordered the Firm for the first time.  I have lost 50 pounds using the Firm and am in the best shape of my life!  The Firm has changed my life and I own almost every one of their videos.  As a matter of fact The Firm videos are the only ones my husband lets me buy because out of everything I've tried, and I've tried EVERYTHING, they are the only ones that have delivered on their promise.  But I am in agreement with how long it takes to receive your product if you order from them directly.  It is much faster if you order from other sources.  I order from collage video, if they have a good deal, but I mostly get them [] (brand new), or somewhere else and receive them a lot faster.  Please don't let their lack of customer service, although I have not had any problems with them to date, deter you from buying a great product that really works.

Like other people who support "the FIRM," I definitely agree--the FIRM is an excellent way to get trim and in shape.  You just have to order it from the right place.  Unfortunately, the FIRM site itself isn't the right place to buy it from.  I hope things have changed--but a couple of years ago, when I bought the last body sculpting system (the one with the fanny lifter), my eyes just about bugged out of their head when I read in the FAQ's that it takes a whopping six weeks to get stuff delivered!  So I knew I had to buy my body sculpting kit from somewhere else.  Now...I don't know about anyone else here, but on the whole, I'm skeptical about buying products on TV--and that includes stuff advertised on [].  But []'s website, [].com, also offers "the FIRM" and it's a great, reliable place to shop.  I bought my body sculpting system (the latest one, with the transFIRMer) two weeks ago and it arrived on my doorstep last week.  I've been using it for a week and can't be happier. :D It seems that nobody's exactly critiquing the *product*--the DVD's plus the transFIRMer or the Fanny Lifter, depending on what body sculpting system people have gotten.  Or else nobody's explained why this fitness system is good or bad.  So I think I'll do that here.  By combining weight training with aerobics, results are achieved faster than one would get by doing either aerobics or weight training alone.  That's what the FIRM people say, and I believe that.  It's also true that you get guaranteed visible results in 10 workouts or less--or in roughly a month, considering that you basically work out every other day and get weekends free for three of those four weeks of the month.  My arms were the first to look trimmer, and now I'm trimmer around the middle--I can fit into my size 10 jeans again.  (I've been a size 12.)  I've been working for a month with the FIRM now--three weeks with my other FIRM dvd's plus my fanny lifter, and now with my new DVD's and my transFIRMer.  My only real (but slight) complaint about the newest system, with the transFIRMer, is that they don't quite focus on the beginner modifications as much as they have in the past--and as much as they should.  The lady doing the beginner modifications wasn't focused on as much.  The master instructors leading the workouts didn't consistently come right out and say, "If you're a beginner, don't squat as deep/land on a flat foot with the leg press/don't pick your legs up too high when we march for cardio," etc.  I really appreciated those verbal cues in the last body sculpting system (the last one to use the Fanny Lifter), and I wish there were more of those cues in the present body sculpting system with the transFIRMer.  I've got a few tips that might come in handy, though, in case anyone's about ready to think that the FIRM body sculpting systems are a waste of money because they might be too tough for the average beginner: --It's okay if you can't do the workout from start to finish.  Do what you can and don't push yourself too hard.  You'll still get results.  Be sure to complete the warm-up and cool-down, and try to not stop abruptly in the middle of the workouts because you can't do anymore.  It's better to march in place or at least walk around until you can jump back in with the workout.  (As an asthmatic, I have problems keeping up with the cardio/step stuff.  Sometimes, I do have to break the rules a little and just *stop* because even walking around real slowly is a tall order for me--but I do try to pick up again later in the workout.  I know my limits and respect them.) --Be sure to watch these DVD's first, once you receive them--don't just start doing your FIRM signature leg presses or mambochacha's just yet. :P  I learned my lesson very early on, with my other FIRM dvd's, that screening these DVD's is important.   Especially if you're a real newbie to the FIRM and you don't know what the workouts are like, you'll want to watch what everyone's doing first.  And you'll want to try listening to what the master instructors are saying.  (I don't want to be rude, but, um...I couldn't understand some of what the ladies were saying on my DVD's at first.   They had to talk a bit fast, and their slight Southern accents were getting in the way.) :/ --If you get out of breath during the cardio/step parts of the DVD's, you'll want to scale down instead of stopping completely.  This means either marching in place, or just doing the footwork and not doing the upper body moves.  (Just doing the footwork also helps if you're getting the hang of the choreography.  Get your feet used to things first, then add your arms when you're ready.  If you do things this way, there's less of a chance that you'll end up tripping over your own feet, the way I have at least once before.) :P --This worked for me, but I'm not sure if it'll work for others...I'd skip the leg press stuff for the first 3-5 workouts, or just do one set of them for both legs, but not more than that.  My knees hurt when I tried doing more than one set, as the workouts would show me.  I was following proper form, but my legs just weren't strong enough yet.  (I asked around back when I was a member of [].com, and I was told this by other members.)  And I'm petite, at 5'2", so maybe that figures into things, too?  I forgot to ask about that before, when I was a firmdirect member.  So for the "leg press" (and "tall box climb") part of the workout, I'd walk around slowly, catch up on drinking water and being hydrated, and wait for something I *could* do.  Now I'm at the point where my knees don't hurt anymore, so I know my legs are getting stronger. --While we're at it...if you're using the transFIRMER, be aware that you'll need more workout space than you needed to have with the Fanny Lifter.  I'm a little cramped in my workout area with the transFIRMer.  I try to do pullovers with the transFIRMer on an incline and my hands end up banging into some chairs behind me that I can't move. :(  If I don't have my transFIRMer in the same place in my workout space, compared to the ladies in the workouts, then things don't work out quite right for me.  So, yeah...be sure you have a good bit of space when you do your FIRM workouts with the transFIRMer.  You'll need more space because you're working with a bigger piece of equipment. And...that's it.   Overall, I love my firm DVD's, both new and old.  They do deliver on what they promise.  Just be sure to not push yourself too hard to start with.  And be sure to not give up.  (I did, about a year ago, because I didn't think I had the time to keep doing the workouts, since they run anywhere from about 40-60 min long per workout.   I've paid the price with a soggy middle and love handles and flabby arms.)  If you keep working at it, you *will* get the results you want. :) Good luck! Theresa

I know many people have had problems dealing with GoodTimes.  I have had only two problems with them.  They seem not to be able to handle gift orders.  A gift TransFIRMer order was sent to me instead of to my sister, but when I called GoodTimes, they arranged for a UPS pickup and credited me promptly.  When they set up my sister's club membership to me instead, I had to cancel both the duplicate and mine, and re-register.  Obviously their systems are not up to par.  GoodTimes has been purchased by Gaiam, so hopefully the customer service problems will ease under the new ownership.  This is a terrific exercise system, particularly for those of us who get bored easily or are resistant to overly perky video instructors who have never had a weight problem in their lives.  Don't overlook the FIRM just because of these stories; you can always buy from [].

I purchased my original Firm tapes from a local video store and made my own "Fanny Lifter" so I can not speak about the customer service and billing that these posts refer to. I can speak to the effectivness of the Firm program though, it is extremely effective! They say visible results in 10 work outs and myt experience definitly supports that statement.

Actually, it's a great system, you just have to order it from the right place.  I ordered mine from QVC and received it in less then a week.  Once I started reading about all the horrible experiences with ordering direct from the manufacturer, I went a different route.  Don't knock the product because it does work.

I have seen the infomercial and the Firm System itself is great. I have lost 4 and 1/2 lbs. in one week alone. I ordered mine from QVC because it was cheaper and I placed membership with the Firm website. I haven't ordered anything as of yet and since The Firm is such a reputable company (they have been around for years), they need to drop the infomercial or use another production company.

I bought the Firm for $75 through ebay.  I love it.  It's definately something I recommend.  I bought a 4 pack of videos from Sams Club for $18 the other day.  It's not worth it to buy from the infomercial because after everything I have read I wouldn't take the chance.  There are so many other places to get this product.  I definately recommend the product, and all the things that they give you "free" in the infomercial comes with the Firm anyway.   I hated working out before because it always took so long, but now I use these videos and they go by so quickly.  It's great if you only have a couple hours to work out, and the videos take you through step by step.  They are very easy to follow along.

The Firm Sculpting System is great.  It does what it claims visible results within 10 days (It works!!!). I ordered mine from QVC (qvc.com) and received it in less than a week.

I ordered the Firm DVD set from Overstock.com (very reputable--no hassles), and inside the box there was a coupon for the Fanny Lifter, so I sent away for it for $29.95. The DVDs cost around $30. So, I compiled the entire set for $60. Overstock.com also has other Firm tapes and DVDs--usually at 40% off. The Firm program is great and it really works!
