I purchased my turbo cooker about 3 years ago. As far as I am concerned it is the greatest thing since sex. I use it every day. Maybe you can't adapt every recipe to cook in it but would be so few it doesn't matter. How else can you take something out of the freezer and 1/2 hour later have an entire meal on the table. If you cand boil water then you can use this pan.

I bought my turbo cooker 4 months ago after watch the infomercial. I love it! It's taken the place of all my other pots and pans; including my wok (I'm asian). After reading your article, I don't feel the word "scam" applies to this product because it is also available in stores.  I bought my second turbo cooker on sale at the mall. Anyways, its great that you will also post a defense of products. I'm sure you will get lots of responses. I now off to critique some of the other products I've bought from infomercials.

The Turbo Cooker is an amazing product that has helped me serve fast, delicious, and nutritious meals.  I am a busy, hockey, soccer, and baseball mom who spends dinnertime in the car on many nights.  The meals I cook are fabulous, and I can cook from frozen in case I didn't get meat out to dethaw in time!  To label the TurboCooker a "scam" is ridiculous.

I have a TurboCooker and it is everything that the infomercial said it to be. I love my TurboCooker.  It does save me alot of time in the kitchen and the food cooled in it tastes great! By the way where do you post the defend letters you receive about the products as I can't seem to locate any.  It would be nice to to see which products are being defended.  It would also show that you are trying to be fair and honest on this site. Waiting to see a defend page.

How can you say that a product is a scam based on unsatisfactory customer service?   By calling it a "scam", you infer that the product does not live up to it's claims. I have owned a Turbo Cooker for about 6 months now, and to this day it remains my most used pan in my kitchen.  I don't even put it away, I wash it out, and set it back on the stove ready for use.   The product has fulfilled my expectations, and more. Furthermore, in your report from Bina, there is absolutely no reference to the quality of the product.  She was unhappy with it, fair enough.  It is unfortunate that she has had a hard time getting a refund, but that should, in no way, reflect on the product itself. I have worked as a supervisor in various call centers, and I will be the first to tell you that people make mistakes.  Orders get lost, warehouses ship wrong items, refunds fall through the cracks. It happens, even with the best products.  That doesn't mean that a product is a 'scam', it means that someone, somewhere, screwed up.  Place the blame where the blame should be placed. If Burger King gives me a chicken sandwich when I ordered a Whopper, does that mean that I should never order another Whopper again? I am truly sorry that Bina experienced poor service, but it was just that, poor service.  For you, as a website owner, to twist that around and make the TurboCooker out to be a horrible product, that is truly the sad ending to this story.

This product is the best thing I have ever bought from an infomercial!  The service has been great and as part of the list group which uses the product, Chef Randall(originator) and Cathy Mitchell (promoter and expert)who are part of the infomercial are there to help and advise way beyond the call of duty.

The Original TurboCooker is NOT a scam product. I have one and it works great! There are other knock-off products I'm sure, that may be scams. Please REMOVE the TurboCooker from your website, it does not belong there. Thank you.

I got the Turbo Cooker for a wedding gift and I LOVE it.  It does everything it says it will I cant stop using it.  The customer service from Chef Randall has been great whether I post a message on the group site or send an email directly to him he always answers any questions and sends recipe help also. This product gets a thumbs up from me.

Cathy writes:
I purchased my Turbo Cooker about 18 months ago.  I have used it almost daily since my purchase.  I found everything represented on the infomercial was accurate!  So much so that I have purchased Turbo Cookers for my Mom, my sister, my best friend and as a wedding present!!!  Of all the items in my kitchen, the Turbo Cooker would be the most difficult one to give up!

I'd like to respond to the listing you have of "TurboCooker" being a "scam." First, that site should not be labelling something a "scam" based on a single person's complaint. I was a newspaper reporter for many years prior to failing health forcing me to leave, and I know the rules of journalism: Any allegation made, in print, requires three INDEPENDENT verifications. At least, those were the rules prior to Matt Drudge and Internet "news." Now.... sigh... it's a different world, and definitely not for the better. Second, you should have made the minimalist move of verifying whether the manufacturer of the product (and this goes for ALL the products you have there... there are many "scam" labels applied to companies based on their distributor's customer service) is also the distributor. Then, in your "official guise" as "internet scam revelation", you should contact the manufacturer/distributor and give them chance to rectify situation; it's quite possible a level 1 customer support person, for whatever reason, simply hasn't elevated the complaint to the proper level for resolution. By labeling something a "scam" without doing that, you may be opening yourself up to litigation, but I'm afraid the owner of the site is much more interested in naming something a "scam" then in anything else. I've found my TC to be an invaluable kitchen tool. Just last night, when I thought we'd be stopping off to eat on way home after my picking up my spouse from work, it was invaluable. He didn't want to stop because it was getting dark, and I hadn't left any lights on for the new puppy... so some frozen chicken breasts, some cream of mushroom soup and some seasoning and 20 minutes later... BAM... dinner. Let me put it this way: For four months this summer, we lived in a hotel suite until we got our house and moved to Phoenix. The "suite" consisted of a two-burner stove top and a 1 cubic foot microwave for the kitchen, as well as a half-size refrigerator. Our TurboCooker saved us, literally, thousands of dollars that would have gone to restaurants, and still allowed me to cook meals that would normally have required four burners and an oven - yet was able to do it all in one pan. The clincher for me came in early summer, when I was able to make chili and also make corn-bread muffins to go along with it! Hey... chili without cornbread is like Prime Rib without horseradish. Sure, you can still eat it that way... but why would you want to? :-)

This isn't a report about a scam, it is a response to the lady with the Turbo Cooker problem. First a bit of background about myself, I was given a Turbo Cooker as a gift, I would have never considered buying one as I had very little faith in infomertials. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and unique properties of the Turbo Cooker. I liked it so well that I have a second one, and I use them both on a daily basis. I found a Yahoo "group" about the Turbo Cooker, Chef Randall and Cathy Mitchell (the lady from the infomertial) are members of this group, there are over 3700 members in that group and the number is growing every day. You will also find several key people with Good Times Entertainment (they market the Turbo Cooker) are also members and monitor the message board on a daily basis. EVERYONE who has had any kind of problem with their Turbo Cooker, and posted a message about it got an (almost!) immediate response from Chef Randall and those from GTE, I got a replacment lid in less that a week when my lid broke. Anyone needing advice about their Turbo Cooker can get PERSONAL help from Chef Randall on this site. The Yahoo site was not started by Chef Randall or GTE, it was started by a few people who wanted to talk and share info about their Turbo Cooker, it's not there to advertise the Turbo Cooker, it is there for anyone who wants help, recipes or to talk to the inventor of the Turbo Cooker. You can ask anyone on the group what they think of the customer service they have received as a result of the monitoring of this site by Chef Randall and the people who work for GTE and you will get nothing but praise. I sincerely hope you post this, I think it's important to tell both sides of the story.

I've used the Turbo-Cooker since February 2002 and have had no problem at all using it. It is one of the best products on the market today. If you are having difficulty with a promised refund, you could always contact Chef Randall direct. His address ischefrandall@chefrandall.comHe does have a quick response time. Turbo Cooker a Scam??? Nope. Show me any other cooking tool, other than a microwave oven, that will cook a chicken breast from frozen in under 20 minutes? Or do a cassorelle in 15 minutes, noodles included.

I bought my Turbo Cooker [] a year ago.  The third day I used it, the valve broke.  I found the yahoogroups Turbo Cooker Group and posted a message indicating my distress.  I figured I was 'hosed' since I had not purchased it from the Turbo Cooker distributors directly.  I was wrong!!!!   Within a day, Chef Randall had contacted me to request my name and address so that I could be sent a new lid and I received it by FedEx third day delivery. I have been using my Turbo Cooker almost every day for a year now with no further problems.   I absolutely love it.

I just want to add my voice here. The Turbocooker is not a scam and should not be listed on your scam site. I've had mine for two months and I've used exactly one other pot and one other pan since I bought it because it's so great. I've reheated, cooked from scratch, cooked from frozen, baked etc and have adapted a number of our favorite Puerto Rican and Italian recipes. I've even done a small duck in it for New Year's eve. Not only do the recipe cards work great, but it's easy, once you get the hang of it, to adapt other recipes. It's saving me lots of time and lots of money (not buying as much olive oil as I used to or cans of Pam)and when I move to my new apartment which has a full-size stove, I'm thinking about getting a second one for party cooking and for cooking for the freezer.

I have the Turbo Cooker Plus w/timer.  As a single man, I find it a delight to actually cook!  My meals are healthier and enjoy "inventing" my own dishes.  Thanks for a great product!

The turbo cooker is not a Scam!  It works great!  I have 2 of them now.  And... they do make delicious moist cakes.   It's worth the buy!!  Try it, you'll like it!

Linda writes:
I ordered the Turbo Cooker several years ago fron the TV commercial. This has been the best pan and I have really enjoyed using it. I find it to be quick cooking and easy clean up and does everything it claims to do. I even recommended it to a friend to use, she bought one and has since nicknamed it The Magic Pan.
