The service center being in india i do not like..hard to understand people at imes. all have been nice and helpful. This is great for us.
worth looking into .

I have had Vonage for 8 months now and have been very happy with it. I could not and did not try to port my old landline number. The taxes/fees have increased slightly since I subscribed, but it is still cheaper than basic phone service. I highly recommend Vonage if you have broadband and are paying more for your standard service than Vonage charges.

All that I can say is that if you have a broadband internet connection, get Vonage! I was sick and tired of paying outrageous phone bills from Verizon and MCI. We make a lot of calls out-of-state and to the Philippines and by far, Vonage has saved us hundreds of dollars! People complain about the service. All you have to do is power down your modem and VOIP router once a month for about 1 minute, turn it back on and your up and running! I absolutely love it and have reccomended it to several people and you get 1 month free for each referral. Gotta love that!

I've been a Vonage customer for the past year. I turned off completely my Bellsouth account and I've never felt better. Vonage is easy to use, cheap and it works. Using it with the Comcast cable system for Internet I have never had a dropped phone call. We were without power for two weeks with Wilma and obviously the phone and cable service was not working, but I went to the local coffee house and connected to the Internet to get all my voicemails and call people from my laptop. Recently, I also added a virtual phone line to a city where many of my friends reside so they would not pay the long distance charges when they call me. Best deal ever for $5 a month. Vonage worked the same day I ordered it, and every day since then.

Some people can evidently mess up anything, hence the complaints about Vonage. My Vonage was up and running in about 15 minutes and it has been near perfect for about six months. It is a great deal now that the regular phone companies charge for everything a la carte. My previous Verizon service even began charging me for local calls. With Vonage I get phone service that is BETTER in sound quality than the regular phone, works exactly like a regular phone, and only costs me $15/month for more minutes than I can use, long distance included. I even get emails to alert me that I have a voicemail. Try getting that with a traditional phone company.

I've used Vonage for about a year and a half and have been very pleased. Both the cost and functionality has been excellent. The call quality is just as good as my old land line service.

I ordered Vonage phone service two months ago and it arrived pretty fast. It did take some doing to get it connected and working properly and I did have to call customer service--which by the way after certain hours is in India so the communication was a bit of a struggle at times, but hey, at least they really are there 24 hours a day and they do answer the phone. After manually disconnecting some wires in my box outside and troubleshooting with the help desk in India, I finally got it working. My only complaint is that they promised us the first month free but I found that they charged us anyway. I didn't make a fuss though because we'd been paying 92.00 to our local phone company for the exact same service so the extra 27.00 bucks was no big deal and anyway, since Vonage lets us have our home base Dallas, Texas number so our family can call us for free while we're on military tour here in a part of Alabama which is not covered by them, it more than makes up for the free month dupe.

I am a current Vonage customer and I love it. I pay 15 bucks a month for 500 outgoing minutes and toll free numbers don't count towards those minutes. Incoming calls are free too. I get all the features and voicemail too. I am even able to see all my incoming and outgoing calls on their weblog. It is the best.

I've used Vonage now for over 2 years and am throughly satisfied. I received Vonage and in the first couple months I did have problems which were my ISP in the end, not Vonage. After that I've had little to no bumps in service at all. I'd recommend them just make sure your broadband is fast enough. That's with all VoIP services though. Score: 90/100
