I spilled tea on my beige carpet and used oxiclean on the stain, but instead of removing the stain it turned it bright orange! Does anyone know how to fix this?!

I had purchased this product and
had used it before just on plain
white clothes it had left yellow
marks were the stains were.
I had just bought my daughter a new baby doll shirt for school,
it had little fine grey dots on it, with fine grey stripes at the top of the shirt, she had spilt hot chocolate on it. Like many times before I put a little oxiclean in the sink and fill it will the right amount of water, i put the shirt in the sink, within seconds I had walked by to check it and noticed that some of the spots had disappeared. Well the whole
shirt is ruined, there are pathches of white spots were all the dots are supposed to be, and the stripes are partly missing.
I will never use this product again. Who will pay for a new shirt. I will, because as I have read all of the complaints about this product I know that my money will not be replaced.
P.S I have shown my friends this shirt and they all cannot believe what has happened, so they have all stopped using this product.

Oxiclean is the worst piece of crap ever it stained my 700.00 chair. I blotted like the product says to, but ruined my chair. Do not buy or use this product. It SUCKS.

I Just bought a $50.00 all white polo shirt from [] to wear for going out to dinner or a night on the town, you know, otherwise all i have is t-shirts. Anyways, I spilled a couple small drops of an energy drink that just so happened to be red on it. So my wife hands me this handy-dandy little travel bottle of Oxiclean to spray on the stain and blot it out. Which I proceed to do. After about 15 minutes of blotting, my shirt began to look white again. Okay, no worries thus far, right? So I get out of the car and begin to walk into the building and sit down, about 5 minutes later my wife looks at me and makes a face that makes me think shes just seen a the ugliest man alive. Now I know I'm not the best looking man alive but come on now. I say to her. And she just points at my shirt and says um, Ben. So I look down and there on my $50 shirt, right where I sprayed that supposed miracle in a bottle, are 3 huge yellow stains right where the red drips used to be. Needless to say, I think the makers of Oxiclean owe me $50!

Me and my roommate tried Oxiclean.
He works as a chef, I work in concrete, and thought we cold get our clothes cleaner, (especially him, because he gets grease stains, and mustard or ketchup and stuff on his clothes without wearing on the fabric.)
However, it did NOT WORK , and was definitely worse than the normal detergent we usually buy.
This is True , products are out there that do NOT WORK, and they get away with it ! TRUE, shame, Are there laws against this ?

After spraying OxiClean spray on my white pants, right in front of my eyes it ate a 1/4 hole - couldn't figure out why some of my whites had little holes, thought they were just wearing out - never again will I use this product, it's scary!

I bought oxyclean years ago, hoping that it would get the mud stains out of my barn clothes.
I used it for a while then noticed a strange thing. Every shirt I had in the laundry with oxyclean hand bleach-like stains in the arm pits. Yes, I sweat alot, but it shouldn't do that. It even did that to some of my mothers clothes.
Now it sits on the shelf getting lonely as all the other products I use come and go as they are emptied.
I only use it on junk towels that I don't care if they look bad.
I wouldn't recommend this product.

I have used Oxi Clean Laundry and Stain Remover on a white blouse that had stains, yes it removed the stains and left me holes, used it on a Bedspread the same thing and then cleaned the side of my pool liner and I now have a leaky pool liner. Didn't realize this was what was happening until I used it on the blouse and immediately after washing saw the damage.
This product should be removed from the consumers.

I've used Oxyclean on colored clothes before and had some luck getting blood and ink out, but when I went to use it on my daughter's new white pants, it stained them yellow. They actually look worse now than they did with the original stain!
I'll never, ever use this product again.

I use oxi-clean to pretreat my daughter's brand new white skirt after she dropped some tomato sauce on it. after an hour we rinsed it out and it left a huge yellow stain. we tried everything to attempt to get it out,but nothing has worked. a $25. 00 skirt ruined. The same thing happened to her jacket, it just left a large yellow spot and cannot remove it. I don't really like the product

I really like Oxy-Clean for my work uniforms, however I can't say I noticed any real difference in my regular clothes. I work as a waitress in a steak restaurant, we have to buy our shirts from the company at $20 each, not a whole lot considering how much I wear them but would rather spend that money somewhere else. After working there for a year my 3 shirts were looking pretty bad; stained, grease spots, really dirty in the cuff area and just generally grungy. I had tried a bunch of other additives and other "home remedies".
Nothing had worked, didn't really think the oxyclean would work but figured what the heck if it does not work I'm out $7 but if it did work I would be saving alot, plus other than the stains the shirts were structurally in good shape. I put the shirts in a bucket to soak, followed the directions on the back of the tub, I did have to stick something heavy in there to weigh the shirts down, they kept filling with air and floating over the water line. I was truly amazed at the results. They were NOT like new but they were So much better. Most of the stains came out, grease spots were all gone and they were generally brighter, the cuffs were the only part that did not clean up well. After that first initial soak I have continued to put it in the the work clothes. My only complaint is it slowly turned the buttons on my blue shirts a purpleish blue color, the buttons on the red and green shirts were fine.
I did not however notice any markable difference using it my regular laundry. I don't bother putting it in with my everyday clothes as it is a waste of money.

I have read all of the complaints and I have to wonder if have have the same product. Is this the white stuff in a small tub that you can buy at the local "Buy everything here" shop? We have used Oxiclean for years and it's always worked well.

I tried OxyClean to get juice stains off the fabric of my computer chair. Good thing I don't have to wear the chair in public! It just spread the stain out a bit. Now its stuck for all time. I tried the stuff on other less serious stains, and to my complete and utter non-amazement, nothing happened! It couldn't even clean the kitchen counter-top as well as plain old tap water does. The obnoxious mental dwarf that hawks this crap on tv should be forced to drink it in his next commercial.

After being thoroughly annoyed by the high voiced pitchman/inventer/owner on the TV commercials which last far too long (thank you FCC) I bought the stuff. It did nothing. Absolutely nothing! It did not improve laundry and did not remove stains from the carpet. Most stain removers advertised on infomercials, as I learned with that stuff in a tube years ago, will only remove the substances demonstrated on TV. Quite often those stains are deliberately made lighter to make sure they 'vanish.' I bought another product from this same fellow from a website and discovered a $38.00 shipping and handling charge. Will not buy any product from this guy again.

I tried this product many years ago to get small orangy spots out of light carpet. It didn't remove the spots, but did leave big dark ring around the area. I had to steam clean the area several times to remove the rings. Used the rest of the product in my white laundry loads. My whites never looked so dingy. Went back to adding bleach. Worthless product!
9/11/2007 - Carly writes:
Oxi clean does not work as advertised. Maybe if you really believe your clothes will be made cleaner by this stuff, you'll perceive them to be cleaner. Otherwise, save your money.

I bought some Oxyclean about a month ago. I had a red wine stain on a cream colored shirt. It got the wine stain out, but bleached the rest of the shirt. This stuff ruined my favorite shirt. It sucks!

I have been using OxyClean for about 2 years now. I won't do a load of laundry without it anymore, it has even gotten out an old red wine stain on a pink blouse (talk about a miracle). I have also used it as a spot cleaner and works well on carpet. However, do not touch this product (in a concentrated liquid state) without gloves on I did and was in the dr's office within the hour!
7/27/2007 - Tom writes:
As a laundry additive, Oxy-Clean is horrible. I bought some because of their claim that it would make clothes "cleaner." Well, my experience was that clothes feel strange and make me itch after adding this stuff.
7/11/2007 - Jean writes:
It stinks as a laundry additive---but it's an AWESOME jewelry cleaner--just stick it in a bowl with some hot water and your gold jewelry--especially diamonds--in a minute or 2,like new & they are sooo sparkly, you won't believe the "gunk" in the water that comes off, you may have to do it twice to really clean it right--so, it's a scam for what they claim it's so good for, but for me, my container has last a good long time! Thought others might want to benefit from my "discovery" so their purchase isn't a total loss!
