Like everyone else in this web site I too was scamed by this false advertising. I will never order anything else from the SAS group or Billy Hayes for that matter. What a shame that wealthy groups and individuals such as the SAS Group and Billy Hayes result to trickery, chicanery and disohnesty to make a buck out of unsuspecting and trusting individuals. I wish I had read this comments before ordering, but at least it will save me the time and efforts in trying to recuperate my money since it is apparent that it will do no good to try, so I will chuck it to "leassons learned".
I am really embarassed to know that this product comes from Wisconsin, my home state.

I called to order the awesome(?) auger but hung up after hearing offer after offer for additional equipment--unfortunately, the order went through anyway. What I received was not what was displayed on TV. Like many of the other complaints, only one box came with the augers. I thought another box was on its way or it had been lost in the mail. It took numerous phone calls and emailing to finally get through to customer service. I was told the drill had to be purchased separately. This item was completely misrepresented. The augers are of no use at all without the motorized part. I am surprised this type of advertising rip off scam is permitted. Is there any way to stop them?

Like apparently many, many other customers, or should I say suckers, I sent back two Awesome Augers I ordered for myself and our son. Why? There were no bonus drills; no weed aug; and no power extender. Their promises to blast through hard rock or clay? I serious doubt it with the poor quality metal used in the augers.
Billy Mays ought to be ashamed of himself for representing this worthless product. Obviously, I'll never buy anything else he hawks but he's probably already made his millions selling other worthless junk.
I've demanded a full refund but three weeks later a credit has not appeared on our credit card. Our next contact will be with the Office of Consumer Protection with the State of Wisconsin to file a complaint.

We ordered the TV special--auger, extension and drill, doubled. The order was taken by an electronic voice--you know the one I mean--with no opportunity to ask questions or respond with anything but a yes or no. They charged the card and sent two short augers. Attempted to get a real person on the phone, but no luck. Finally emailed and a week later got a our policy reply with a phone number to call. The call was answered by a snippy man who assured me that we had received everything we ordered. They then said they'd be happy to send us everything else if we would only pay shipping. The product was free, but the shipping was exorbitant.
I tried the auger. It worked on anything less than 4" high, but not without tangling so that I had to stop and pry twisted weeds off. Since some of what I wanted to do was poison oak, that did not help.
This is a deceptive ad, the product has problems, and the telemarketing company are scammers. This is my last sold on TV order ever.

Ordered product 05/10/2008, and credit card was charged - no product received as of 07/01/2008. I called several times but only once spoke with a human being who assured me that the product had been on backorder until just yesterday and it would be shipped very soon. Got an e-mail from their customer service team on 06/27/2008 providing a FedEx tracking number - couldn't get a response from the number listed, and FedEx said the number was listed to another vendor. Will be reporting this to Internet Fraud Complaint Center and my credit card company as a fraudulent transaction.

We ordered the awesome auger and never hit the sumit button the money taken off our master card the product never arrived I called the company and stayed on line for over 20 minutes stil someone came on line told her the problem that they had not sent the auger and also billed me again. I told her I did not want her product she said all she could do was send a replacement I again told her i didn't want the product said that was their policy and I should have read the cancellation that you have to call the company with in so many hours. Needless to say I told her to send the auger but that i would report to the BBB. Yesterday I recieved two augers with no extension just the pin to hold them together today I recieved the same thing again still no extension I would call the company again but thye would probably charge me more money. This company is ripping people off with false advertising.

the biggest ripoff ever!do not -i repeat do not fall for this scam. you do not have a chance to review and confirm your order before sending it online, it just goes through. i tried to cancel it minutes after and every day after with no luck-you cannot get through on their phone no. to speak to anyone live. they charged me 49.00 to ship this piece of junk. told my husband to get it out of the house now before i throw it in the trash! they certainly cannot stay in business much longer the way they operate.

My husband, Per Saether, thought he was doing a favor for a friend without a credit card. He ordered two Awesome Augers by phone for a cost of $19.95 each plus shipping and handling. He was told that his order would include two "free" drills. The box came today and the packing list indicated a charge of $137.70. $39.90 for the augers and $97.80 for postage and handling. I called the customer service number 866.504.7702 ten times. The first nine simply said that the lines were busy and to call back after which the call was disconnected. After 15 minutes on hold for the tenth call, I talked with someone who said my husband was advised of this charge. My husband disputes this; says he was advised of a charge but not the exact amount. I ran through all of the usual responses: no way shipping could cost that much, no way the actal value of the merchandise could be that much etc. etc. The rep said P&H is nonrefundable but after continued pressing said our account coud be creded $80 if we returned the drills but we would have to pay the return postage. I asked to talk with a supervisor. Seven minutes later, Sue, employee number 8126, comes on the line. She says the best they can do is credit our account $119.80 if we returned everything at our cost. After minutes of another rational discussion on my part and an unwillingness to budge on hers, I agreed to return it all. I asked her to email me confimation. She says she has no access to email. I asked her to fax it...not their policy. The only reason I am able to file this complaint is because I found some websites with many other unhappy, foolish consumers and someone had done enough research to uncover it. Unfair business practice...yes...besides which it no way costs that much to ship what we received. They are making more money on the shipping than the product. I have no refund. I filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau []. According to them the company behind the Awesome Auger product is SAS Group, Inc. I eventually received some worthless correspondence from a SAS Group rep that wasn't even written in proper English. A follow up email from the Better Business Bureau said this: "The BBB does not dispute pricing or shipping charges, and the company has address your concerns. Shipping and handling/processing fees associated with this company's products are NONREFUNDABLE. These fees are charged "PER ITEM" and not based on the total weight of items shipped together." Bottom line, we were foolish to order something without careful research in advance. Now I watch every TV commercial to see how shipping costs are disclosed. For the majority, either not at all, or very small, very hard to read and never described as nonrefundable. It's a sad to acknowledge that this kind of advertising is acceptable and that suckers like us have fallen for it.

It would work fine if they had sent the 18" entension. I am 80 years old and can't bend down to easy. The extension would really help. Can't get a way to talk to a person about it.

My father-in-law ordered two Awesome Augers. Shipping was ended up costing him $80.00. He called customer service about returning them and was told that return shipping would be at his expense. He then discovered that he had not received the extensions and called customer service again. They told him they would be happy to send his extensions at no charge but shipping would cost $40.00

I ordered 2 sets of the awesome auger in June; one for father's day & one for my grandson. Three days ago I received one box containing the 2 augers; no drill, & no additional augers which are supposed to be free. I too, was outraged by the postage!
These people need to give us back out money, but they cannot be reached in any way.

I recently ordered 2 of the Awesome Augers. It was a automated ordering system.Never did get to talk to a live person, they were trying to sell me other items. After more than 15 minutes I finally got so frustrated I hung up. I for got about it till almost a month later my order arrived. The product is cheaply made. Not a cordless drill like you see on TV,that is another $20. My product cost was $34.90 but my jaw hit the floor because my Postage and Handling was $73.30 bringing my total to $108.60. I could have had my order flown here on a private jet overnight for that much. Someone needs to put a stop to these people.

In May 2008, I ordered 2 sets of the awesome auger through the automated telephone system. The infomercial was for the 3",4" auger plus the extension and the drill all for $19.95 plus S&H of $8.95. I did recieve 2 sets of augers but nothing else that was due me. The total charge for this order was $57.80. I like all the others before me have tried to call an endless number of times but alas, no live person just automation and music while I sit for long periods of time on hold. I think we all should report to the BBB, the Attorney General, and our credit card companies. I'm very disappointed with Billy as I've had success with other items he has promoted in the past, but I'm done with him now and with anything that he is promoting.

Well, it looks like everyone has experienced the same as me. They are a scam and you need to report them to the Better Business Bureau today. They use an automated ordering system so you can't cancel on the phone. To my knowledge they did not give me a way to contact their customer service center. They charge more for S&P than the item is worth. Unfortunately from what I learned in talking to the US Postal Service and my credit card company, there is nothing I can do. So I did report them to the BBB and I am now reporting them on this site. I will also be looking for other sites to warn others about their scam business practices.

We ordered the auger in May 2008. When received it had just the 2 augers, no drill, nothing. I called the customer service number and was told to return it but there would be a restocking fee. Restocking fee plus postage plus mail tracker cost more than the auger. I still have not received a credit on my account.
Somebody needs to stop this company.
