I ordered the product; it's not what it claims to be. I returned via FedEx and it's been one month since they have received my return but I have not received any credit. Called a couple of times; left holding for 10 minutes. Reps can't explain why I haven't received credit; stated they will have a supervisor call me...never happened. Sent 3 emails and no acknowledgements. Tried calling today, June 2, and either I'm told to call back or my call gets disconnected after holding for 10 minutes.

As many others I ordered the Awesome Auger. I have not tried the product because I didn't recieve the drill or the extenders. Two boxes came in with just the auger in them. I have called customber service many times you cannot reach anyone. I e-mailed twiced with no response. The only thing they had no problem with is taking my money. I thought I could trust Billy, I will never order a product he has anything to do with. He's nothing but a crook.

I ordered this product and did receive the augers. However, I didn't receive the drill or the extender that was supposed to come with it. I tried disputing through my Amex card and didn't get anywhere. I've tried calling and can't reach a person to speak to. Poor, false advertising.!

I ordered the "awesome auger" with the intentions of having an "awesome" father's day gift. I saw it on HGTV! WHY do they allow this to be advertised I have no idea. I knew something wasn't right when the first thing they wanted was my credit card info. I figured I would enter the info expecting to see a review of my order and total, how long shipping would be, etc before final submission of the order. Not so with this website. Immediately I knew I had to cancel especially after reading websites like these unfortunately AFTER my order. You can't get anyone on the phone or by email. Tried to cancel both ways. I wasted no time in calling the bank and canceling my credit card. I'm hoping this will stop the order. They hadn't yet charged me and I don't see how they can when the credit card is no longer open. If anyone makes the mistake to order this ridiculous scam CANCEL your credit card immediately so these crooks cannot charge you!!

Many times I have tried to report this SCAM to the company and have not had any results at all!!!Next stop is the Better Business Bureau and I warned them ahead of time...........$40.00 for two (2) small "augers" that probably cost about $2.50 each to make!! Screw Billy Zane or whoever was the spokesperson!

Thank you all for the information. I was going to order this as a Father's Day gift. I had a problem submitting the info on the website it allowed me to put in the info but when I clicked order now it said page not available. God must have been watching over me. I then came across this blog and am so glad I did not pursue ordering this product.

we purchased the auger following a billy mays commercial and after a long wait received a package containing two of the metal augers but no connecting rod-all attempts to communicate with the shipper or product maker were fruitless - we will never purchase an item promoted by billy mays - judging from the number of complaints of auger purchasers this promotion is nothing but a scam

I ordered the item and did not receive it. I did get a receipt for the purchase but when you try to contact customer service all you get is music. I have worked for both City and Federal law enforcement. Every state has an attorney gerneral who should be contacted. I am in the process of doing so and so should you.

Total rip-off artists. Ordered on the web, added a 2nd one for $15. Went through all the order screens, was NEVER given a total - until AFTER the order was placed. They charged shipping of $39.95 for EACH drill, plus $9.95 for each auger. Yep - $100 shipping !!!! Plus you can't cancel the order. Cancelled online using the cancel option - it seems to work.... A week later I received an email stating I had to call. Have called 17 times. "We are busy" Click. Hung up on without ever speaking to a person. AM FILING CREDIT CARD FRAUD complaint. Do the same!

I called the number in the ad and proceded to listen to a recording. By the time I gave my card identification all of the "added charges" were explained. I did not receive the product advertisied. I got a corded drill instead of the power one. I paid $41.80 for P & H..Now I have to pay to return it via usps because I opened it. I could not possibily know that the wrong product was sent until I opened it. I find it so hard to believe I have to pay so much money for a product I cannot use, did not ask for, and cannot get to talk with a representative because the 1-866 number hangs up saying "try again later".

I heard the TV advert and it sounded great so I ordered ONLY the auger and said no to all the prompts trying to sell me other stuff. Then I got package and when I saw the shipping charges I nearly fainted. The P & H came to 46. 75 on top of the 19.95 advertised for a final bill of 79.17, more than TWICE the cost of the product. It also billed me for something called a "Shark" which I did not receive. I left everything in the package and immediately tried to phone the number on the shipping bill. I called for hours because they kept saying all representatives were busy. After two days I realized that they were never going to answer. Then I looked it up on this site and I felt sick all over. I feel like a fool because this scam has been going on for at least a year. After reading how the drill burns up and the augers break, I am afraid to use it. I called my credit card company and they are holding the charge in abeyence. I filed their complaint form today and called the NY State attorney general's office and filed a complaint there as well. This is clearly fraud and since I have fraud insurance with the CC company, I hope I will not have to pay it. I will NOT send back the package until I get a return lable and acknowledgement that they will refund ALL charges. I'll take it to small claims court if I need to and file charges with the FCC as this scam goes over public airwaves. This needs to stop. I'd never buy anything this man, Billy Mays advertises. What a scamster he is. I will continue to despise him if he were to be beatified by the Pope. Pond scum from the bottom of the gene pool, that one. I'm not letting this thing go. I'll fight it every way available to me. This would be very bad for his selling "image" so the more publicity it gets, the sooner this stuff stops. Get this on every gardening blog you can.

I ordered the $19.95 deal from tv..I received 2 pieces. Not the whole set.I have tried a number of times to contact ANYONE from this company but can never talk to a live person.I feel this company should have to honor everyones order that has been made plus refund their money. This comercial should be removed from tv!!! The company should be fined and closed down!!!

5/23/2008 - Betty writes:
I call the number on the TV commercial. I was never connected to a live person and took forever to get through the automated voice. Fortunately I was luckier than a lot who have order this way. I only received on order which included 2 augers and a drill which was not cordless but no extension which would make using the auger useless. Once S&P was added to order I was charged almost $60.00 for a $19.95 item. There has been no way to contact anyone to ask about the extension or sending product back. I will never order infomercial again and definitely nothing Billy Mays sells!!

I was going to order the Auger via phone, but the recording kept going through different ordering methods. I finally spoke very clearing (after I had given them my credit card info) to cancel the order. I still received an order which was not the complete set. I tried for server day within two weeks to call the customer service #. I finally sent a certified letter request a return number as I had cancelled the order. I received the verification that they received the letter but after a week still no response. How has anyone gotten to talk to someone!

5/23/2008 - Joe writes:
I listened carefully to the infomercial just to make sure I heard it right because I thought it was a good deal and I was in need of something like this. I ordered it and when it came in, there was only two augers but no extender or drill. I tried calling and emailing them but it was no use, I could not connect to anyone. I sent the augers back and am now in the process of contesting this with my bank visa card folks. I am through with ordering from infomercials. They are nothing but rip offs.

We ordered the Awful Auger on the web and when it was delivered all we received were the two augers that attach. BUT we received nothing to attach it to. The drill and the rod was supposed to come as a set they advertised. When I called I was told that in order to get the drill and rod I would have to pay separate shipping charges for each one. This would amount to approx. $50.00. I have tried to reach them on the phone to get credit on my card for the items we returned but cannot reach anyone. Will keep trying..............

I too, got ripped off by this scam. The difference is, I volunteer for Senior's vs Crime. Anyone of any age can call. In 1989, some of Florida’s most effective crime fighters were unleashed through the creation of the Attorney General’s Seniors vs. Crime Project. This effective unit has allowed seniors to become involved in not only their own protection, but also that of their fellow citizens. The Senior Sleuths program is well-known around the state and can serve as the Attorney General’s eyes and ears, volunteer, or actively assist in consumer protection investigations. These crime fighters have been responsible for recovering nearly $5 million for seniors who were the victims of con artists. Volunteers work in offices known as Offices. More than 3,000 and growing, Senior Sleuths volunteers are providing important assistance to the crime fighting effort. Unethical businesses and individuals may believe that their senior target is helpless when, in fact, these citizens may be working for the Attorney General. I am proud to be a partner with these outstanding citizens. Please give the Seniors vs. Crime Project a chance to help with a consumer related complaint by calling 1-800-203-3099. Please feel free to e-mail me with success stories or updates. I am filing a complaint, also. I can't help you personally, you have to call the number above.

The Awsome Auger is a piece of crap. It's a huge ripoff. You do not receive the items that you are supposed to, and you can't contact anyone by phone. All you get is music. The shipping and handling charges aren't what is stated on the phone. The company needs to be shut down.
