I bought the Awesome auger unaware that I was going to be charged 65.70 for shipping until it was to late. I received the product and decided to give it a fair try. Within 3 minutes the drill was stripped to the point I could not use the auger any more. The drill bit hold is not strong enough for the torgue put on the blades. This product is terrible and I believe the commercial is a complete scam. Even in lite dirt this product was broken within 3 minutes. Good luck if you hit a small rock. ANyone considering buying this item should reconsider. The Awesome auger is far less then Awesome!!!

There is no way to contact them except by phone, I ordered the set and got two small auger bits for my trouble. Isn't there a way of getting these scammers?

I ordered the offer from tv that included a free drill and several augers with an extension and equipment to attach the auger(s) to the drill. When it arrived, there were only 2 augers, no extension, no drill, etc. When I called, after being on hold for over 35 minutes, I was told that I could return the 2 augers, but would only receive a portion of what I had spent because of the costs of shipping and handling. I have returned the augers with this correspondence and am reporting this action to the interstate commerce commission.

I have placed an order for this product and i have yet to recieve it. I ordered it for my father and they kept telling me that its on its way. I have been calling and calling and now it says that their is no one available to answer my call and to call back later. I have been calling for a total of a week and i have not got anyone to answer my call. they said a website but i didnt get the website cause i dont have the internet at home. I called a family member and they told me that it was a scam. So i looked on the infomercialscams and what do you know i am not the only one with this problem we need to have something done with this cheap no good person thats allowing this comercial to be aired on tv. I am very unhappy with billy mays. He need to lose all his rights to sell anything again. I have reported this to channel 9 news since i know that they love sories like this. Next time i think i am getting a deal i am looking on here first or better yet not even waste my time and ordering. How do we go about getting this accros to others before they end up losing both time and money???????????????

I ordered this product today over the internet. The process was a bit confusing, and when the final bill was displayed I found that I had ordered two Awesome Augers. There was no opportunity to confirm the order, just a notification at the top of the "Bill" that the order had been placed. I tried calling customer service, 866-504-7702 to request the order be reduced to one auger. I was on the phone for over 20 minutes waiting for some one to talk to. I finally gave up. Going back to the internet site there is no way to access customer service over the internet. This problem needs to be addressed, or maybe the public needs to know of the problem and not buy from these people. It should be know that I do buy through the internet, and have NEVER had an order not ask for confermatiom.

I ordered the auger with the "free" drill, the chargeswere suppose to be $24.95 and they took $81.75 out of my account. After spending 30 min on hold to talk to a live person they told me that the most they would credit back is $24.95. I have ordered several things from infomercials before and have never been dooped like this with shipping costing 4 times more than the product.

I went on line after seeing the infomercial to purchase the Awesome Auger for 19.95. I had to go on line because I didn't have my credit card handy when the ad came on. The cost was to include the product plus shipping and handling. When I put the info in for my credit card the shipping and handling charge was not present. When I submitted my information the total showed $68.95. I was astounded and felt really stupid. I tried to send an e-mail to cancel the order but I didn't get a response. What a rip off.

I ordered this product to help in my flower bed and garden. I called and placed my order on the phone. They were selling them for $19.95 plus shipping. When i put my information in. I also paid extra to recieve faster shipping. I called them back to see when i would recieve my order they told me that it was in the mail on its way to my house. I called the bank and i was missing more money than what i gave the promission to take out. It would of cost roughly $50.00 including the shipping and handling. When i was on the phone with my bank they said that they took out $153.55 out for this product. This needs to get across to other people so they wont be a victim of this scam. This company needs to get off the air and stop taking peoples money when their thinking they are getting what they ordered. I still have not recieved my products.

Wow, I just read all your posts, but I sure wish I'd seen them and read them BEFORE I went to any of the many websites that sell the Awesome Auger. After looking over the site, trying to see what kind of total I would get if I bought various configuations, I closed out the webpage before approving any kind of sales whatsoever. Yes, I entered my credit card, but I NEVER have bought anything online that didn't require me being able to check out the total and give a final approval. Hell, I never even saw all they had to offer before I closed out the page! And I thought that'd be the end of it. Nope, within a short time, I got an email confirming my purchase (of what, how many or what add ons, goodness only knows). This is DEFINITELY corrupt practices that I will be reporting it, but I still got them to stop my order completely, without making a single long distance phone call! I'm ALSO on a fixed income due to disability, but I still have my work skills. I've worked both as a journalist and for a private investigator. So, PAY ATTENTION, folks! There is NO email address for Thillco.com. You are wasting your time trying to contact them directly thru email. These are sneaky people, as you already know. The company name is really THILL LOGISTICS, so go to www.thilllogistics.com and along the TOP of the page, you'll see a blue line of options: "Home Why Us? Foreign Trade Zone ...and more Below that is a WHITE line with only two options: CORPORATE INQUIRIES CUSTOMER SERVICE Click on "CUSTOMER SERVICE" there. Ignore the one along the left side of the page; it'll send you elsewhere. This CUSTOMER SERVICE option gives you a way to send a message to the company, as well as more information about this company. Here is the real address, phone #, etc.: Thill Logistics Corporate Headquarters 355 Byrd Avenue Neenah, Wisconsin 54956 Phone 920-967-8000 Fax 920-967-8010 But I simply filled out my info on the web page for "Customer Service" and got my order cancelled within 48 hours with only two lines of text to these clowns: "Please cancel my order #xxxxxxx. This order was placed with my credit card, which was stolen earlier in the day that this order was placed." They couldn't cancel the order fast enough! Also while you are there, please read up the lies these people tell to their clients, such as this part about shipping: "Due to our prime location, we are able to reduce the delivery cost to the end consumer. The average cost of a two pound package shipped anywhere in the eight standard shipping zones through Thill is $3.33* The average cost of the same package shipped from California to the same customer is $5.67." For the people getting $100+ shipping charges on their orders, this is a pretty deceptive bunch of info! So anyone considering a lawsuit, you need to go after THILL LOGISTICS at the above address & phone numbers. As far as I can tell, Thill Logistics handles a large number of these "as seen on TV" items that Billy Mays and others hawk. Honestly, before a lawsuit, I believe a MASSIVE number of calls to the Attorney General of Wisconsin may help, so that's who people need to start with regarding getting these people not only shut down, but held accountable: After all, I am seeing an overwhelming number of people on fixed incomes, disabled mostly, hoping to use the auger like I'd planned, since my arthritic limbs just don't work well enough to do lawn work normally any more. If anyone needs any more info, please post here and I'll try to answer, but what I've got here should be enough to get people stuck with useless email addresses and customer service numbers costing them a fortune on hold! Good luck and let's go get em!

The Awsom AAuger i s real rip off..nothing is as advertised. The price is jacked up with excesive S&H charges The extensions will not stay together with the cotter key they supply and they are not snap-in. Not at all as advertised.

4/9/2008 - Casey writes:
Awesome auger is just an awesome ripoff. This company is great at adding extra charges and calling them nonrefundable shipping and handling charges. Do not order anything from them as they will add extra items and you cannot get your money back for the shipping and handling on these "free" items. If you do order from them and get these unwanted extra items then please do dispute the charges with the credit card company. This will result in higher fees to the scam artists and eventually no credit card processors will take their business.

I placed an order for the awsone auger on the internet. I was suppose to received the auger set which consisted of a 3inch and 4inch auger. also i was to receive the extender and weed auger for an added cost. What i received in the mail was just the 3 and 4 inch auger minus the weed and extender. I contacted the company by phone but no answer. They gave me an email address which was bogus. Thank U

Ordered this product like a fool. Received my bill and founf a 62.75 p&H charge which is way over board. I tried to call 4 times the customer service 866-504-7702 but all customer service reps were helping others on all four lines. Have yet to receive the extension for the augers. I want to return them but afraid I won't get a credit. Will write to the BBB in Wisconsin for help. Billy Mays should get sued for his advertissing this product.

4/7/2008 - Robin writes:
This product should be called the Awsome Rip-Off. Like everyone else I only received the two augers, no extension or drill. It might be some kind of steel, but the silver coating started to come off after using it only once. I would not recommend this product to anyome and the company should be shut down.

4/6/2008 - jane writes:
people should know that [] sells a similar auger and avoid the infomercial and their dangerous, hidden costs product.

4/6/2008 - Catherine writes:
I was about to order the Awesome Auger. Then I read all the horror stories. I was under the impression that all the infomercial items were $19.95 + S&H. Apparently not. Guess I'll go back to using elbow grease. It's good exercise in any case. Thanks, folks for saving me money and aggravation.

4/6/2008 - Babs writes:
These people are criminals. This sale is total fraud. I ordered the Auger and was supposed to pay $19.95 plus $10.00 upgrade for a cordless and then I ordered an extra one with a cord for $14.95. That is a total of $44.90 + tax and shipping. Instead I was billed over $150.00 and so I called them right away. They said all I could get back was the $44.90 + tax because the rest was shipping and handling. They add a charge for each piece of the product, even though they were all mailed in one box. This is a criminal act, but they know it is too little money for each person to go to court over.

I am complaining about the practices of this company. Same as other people ordered the product on the web then came the shipping costs etc etc.. was going to cancel at confirmation page, but no option to review and cancel. No toll free number to contact either.

Update. I tried to call the 920 number (knowing that I would not get a human) & there was a recording saying that you could email to samuraishark@custserv.com. My email was returned as nolonger accepting email. I tried to contact the people at awesome auger by email (cc'ing each & all Better Business Bureaus involved, Los Angeles, Tarrytown NY & Oshkosh WI,) to cancel our order, all the emails to the addresses were returned as no longer accepting emails. I traced to the "parent" company Thill Logistics. Their customer service page was unavailable, right. However their career page was working. I forwarded to Human Resources the continuing copy of my emails, commenting that surely they must know how to contact the people at awesome auger to cancel the order. (That was last night.) Guess what? Someone in Human Resources did know how to contact samurai shark. Received the follwing this morning. "Good Afternoon, It looks like you have the wrong email addresses. The correct email address for the Awesome Auger is auger@custservdirect.com and the correct email address for the Samurai Shark is samuraisharks@custservdirect.com. We currently do not see an order in our system under Daniel Bussell, but we will keep looking out for it and cancel it when it drops. We will inform you with a cancellation confirmation. The Awesome Auger Customer Care Team" HAVE FUN EMAILING THEM.
