I ordered the Awesome Auger back in October 2007. I was supposed to received a "free drill" with the set. I received the auger but not the drill!! Unfortunately, I also ordered a set for my brother. Neither of us rec'd the "free drill" although I was charged $68.70 on my Visa card. I cannot get through via telephone to Mr. Billy Mays. what can I do??????

My husband ordered the Awesome Auger on 3/31/08 (the usual get 2nd for shipping.) I just went to make a payment on the card and saw a charge from them on 4/1/08 for $158.50. Lets see that makes over $100.00 in shipping. After seeing all the complaints on this sight, I called the card company right away to dispute the charge. My next call is to the them to cancel the order. What a rip off. They never tell you up front how much they will actually be charging you.

I ordered the auger with the free drill. Charges were suppose to be$33.88 and they took $81.75 from my account. Called and they would not do anything about it.

I ordered this product as seen on TV. This awesome auger for a total of $19.95 Included in this offer purchase this auger PLUS the special drill for the auger. I could at this time also order an additional set for $ 14.95. Included in this second set was a cost of I would need to purchase a second drill $19.95. I actually hung up the phone wishing no part in this excessive selling. Much to my surprise a small box arrived without the drill! Also the shipping and handling fee was outrageous.

Okay -- adendum... I figured I would be someone who didn't even buy but hated the approach, but no, I am an owner. They captured my CC information that I first typed in and placed the order on my credit card for the total of the first few items I viewed. I never received a total page giving me an opportunity to accept the complete order!!! So, this was only "half-way" through the order. Now I have an order shipping for $57.00 which is not even complete! Beware!!! I don't even know if the product is any good... all I know is the sales approach the worst I have experienced off of a commercial on [].

I went on line to purchase this for my parents. I thought, I'll even purchase 2... $19.95 + S&H. No big deal, right? Next thing I know it starts by getting all of my credit card info. This is a bit odd versus selling me the products and then asking for it. Everything that is said to be, "FREE" is broken out and charged for S&H. This didn't sit well with me. I googled "awesome auger" and got this site. I was shocked how many different people had so many different problems. Ugh! So I back-up and changed all my information just to see if they would give me a complete price, simple right?, before I place the order. I thought, I don't have a problem paying $50 or $60 bucks for my parents to have a tool that keeps them from having to bend over. Sure enought the s&h charges continue then extended warranty, etc... well, next thing you know, before I get a total I am told the order has been processed. And the total is almost $100!!! I would have removed something I added and bought it for $80 (going over my budget), but it would be a gift, but it never gave me the total. I never slam sales people, I am one... but this is a ridiculous way to scam people who want a tool to make life a bit easier. Billy Mayes had my respect (sort of) before now... I wonder if he knows they are doing this? Based on the other reviews I am concerned they would not have even shipped the extender with the packaged...

July, 2007 I ordered the "special deal" online. I added the extension and deweeder extra, along with the extension! The drill and 2 augers was all I received for the tune of $155 debited from my Visa. I called and told them I had not received what I ordered. They sent the extension. Why on earth are their shipping charges so horrendous?! Like all other AA customers, I feel this is a rip off! Plus, the auger does not cut through those roots as shown on TV... of course. Anybody have any suggestions or action against this fraudulent company, please let me know. Thanks!

I ordered the product over the internet, as everyone else at the end of the process I found out that I had to pay $65 of S&H. I tried to call them to cancel the order (there was no indication of how to do this over the internet) but no success. The only alternative was to cancel the credit card before they have the chance to debit it. What a scam, how come this Billy Mays is not behind bars?

I fell for the sale scam like so many others but had to hang up on the automated sale pitch because they just wouldn't take no for an answer on additional products. I kept an eye on my Credit Card activity and also saw an additional "Processing Charge" that was outrageous, brought the $19.95 cost to almost $60.00. Found their number on line and had the order cancelled before it was shipped. Hope that works.

I ordered one piece of Awesome Auger for $19.95. They charged &19.95 and shipping handling of $28.90. Is it fare? please do not take advantage in this period of recession. Please guide me how do I get my money back.

I ordered the less than "Awesome Auger" and ordered a "free drill" (indidently, the only reason for ordering the original product). When I received the product, no drill. When I called the company they advised me that I had not agreed to the additional charge of shipping the drill, which, again incidently I had. I ended up with a charge of $28.90 for what I consider a "worthless piece of junk", however, I am paying the price to return it, only being out $16.00, or cutting my losses in half.

I ordered 2 augers with drills and a samurai shark. The total cost was $59.85 plus S&H. My invoice and credit card charge was $115.50 Thus; $55.65 for S&H. I filed complaints with The Wisconsin Better Bureau. Trade and Consumer Protection, Green Bay, Wi. and Bureau of Consumer Frauds in New York, The home of SAS; the parent company. The charges are pending. My credit Card company refunded $45.05 shipping. I have requested full refund after I opened the package and found only 3 augers. I am sending copies of these complaints to the people named above and the cedit card company

I purchased the awesome auger with the cordless power drill upgrade. While the upgrade only cost an additional $10 for the product, they failed to mention that an addtional $56 would be charge in S&H. This company is a joke, they refuse to take my product back and give me back the money I paid. Instead they say that it is on the website that there is the $56 S&H fee when it is clearly not. This company is just asking for a class action lawsuit.

I orgered one auger& extension received 2 sizes of the auger, but no extension, I guess I was one of the lucky ones I didn't get a lot of junk like some others got, but the augers are not any good with out the extension. They tried to sell me lots of things when I called for the auger, but I said I didn't want anything else. They are scam artists. Virgil

I had someone else order this product for me,so until the charges come out on his billing statement I won't know the actual charges.Like everyone else tho',when I opened the "little" box,all that was in there were 2 items, with no way to use them. There's no way to connect them to a drill or anything.I wish I had researched this before I bought it.Now if there are hidden chargers like everyone else,I'll have to make it good to my friend, which I can't afford.Billy Mays should be tarred and feathered, run out of bussiness, and NEVER be allowedd to sell anything to the public ever!!!!!!I was going to call customer service, but after reading all the other stories, there isn't any use.I"lljust contact BBB.Someone should be made accountable to the public.Never again will I order anything Mayes sells.Hope he can't sleep nights.

Somehow and unexplicably, my elderly parent, who has not gardened in 40+ years ended up with an Awesome nightmare. We still don't know how his credit card number was compromised, and how (who) placed the order, but a typical credit card thief would at least have the sense to ship the merchandise to a different address, not directly to the cardholder. So there on his doorstep landed an unexpected box with augers and drills inside. $50 for (2) augers and extended warranty + $94 shipping and handling for a total of $144. That $19.95 teaser kinda grew a little? Numerous calls to customer service were long distance, as they don't even support an 800 #, and the results were unawesome at best. Stalls and excuses quickly let us know it was time to file a dispute with the credit card issuer, cancel the card and contact the US postal inspector. Billy Mays - you're awesome!

Same ole, same ole. Ordered this item In Aug. 07 and still fighting this company to get what I ordered for the price agreeded. Yes, I also have hidden charges. I worked for the Post Office, and believe me, these S/H charges are absolute bogus. I also called customer service and spoke with Donna. It was very hard to understand her as she did not have knowledge of our language. This was on 7 Nov. 07. Now as of this date, I have been unable to call customer service for their number is "out of service". While spending hours on this computer, attempting to find other ways to contact them. I read the bio on Mr. Mayes. Here I learned that he "backs and stands behind" all products he indorces. Ok Mr Mayes, you and your future is up at bat. Stand up for us who are paying your wages.

I ordered two augers and drills on my debit card. when my account was charged $148.60 I decilded that when I got it I would send it back unopened, which I did.On Nov. 21st my account was debited $34.90 Michelle at Awesome Augers in Oshkosh.Wi. said the balance of $ 113.70 was for unrefundable processing costs. I am 87 years old on a fixed income and can't afford this. don't buy from Billy Maya.
