I bought Bare Minerals yesterday because of all the hype, and have to say that this is nothing but a bunch of overpriced powders. The coverage is so minimal, my imperfections still show though, and I can't belive anyone would think this is good make up except a 12 year old with flawless skin. This is nothing but great advertising and a ton of hype. Scam!

False advertisement- everything they claim it does, it doesn't....it comes off on everything especially my cell phone...after I apply it I have to dab it off because it looks so cakey...it doesn't cover, it's messy...also I have "fairly light" which is too dark for me, however my skin is not even that fair...and yest i keep buying it...it brainwashes you...i need a new product, i like how easy it is to put on (thats the only thing)...any suggestions for foundation/concealer that doesn't look like you cake it on to "buff away the impurities"???? gross. i. hate. it. i lie awake and watch the infomercials and it makes me so mad! how do so many women believe it is the best product ever??? ew

I bought bare minerals in October of 2007 and used it until 3 weeks ago, when I broke out on my neck, eyelids, skin around my eyes, and chin with a burning, bumpy/hive-like, red, itcy, dry rash. I wanted to claw my skin off. I didn't think it was the makeup because I had been using it for six months. However, my skin had improved after 3 weeks of discontinuing the bare minerals makeup and I had an awards ceremony to attend tonight so I put on the BM makeup again. 2 hours later I have full fledged same burning, itchy, red, dry swollen skin again that turns into welts and hives if you scratch it. I seriously want to claw my skin off! I am throwing my BM makeup away, taking some benedryl and will go see a dermatologist tomorrow. My friend called me this evening and told me about a coworker who had the same problem with BM makeup after 9 months of use (I wish I had found this out sooner) and her dermatologist had to prescribe her an antibiotic because the BM makeup had caused a bacterial infection!! Beware of this product and discontinue if you get any dry, red, itchy, or bumpy skin. It is a terrible thing to go through and you don't want to go out in public with swollen eyes, etc. once it starts!

The commercial makes it seem so easy to use. No!!! There was no coverage at all for me. I wanted this product to work. Why do they make it seem so easy on the commercial? This product is good for only people with perfect skin.

I never got suckered into the club and I just got mineral vail, and the fairest shade they had (which was way to dark) I called and told them it was to dark and they said to mix mineral vial with it. Well according to their infomercials you can't use mineral mail that way. Anyways I have awesome skin, but I am a well known natural health expert, so I am always looking for more natural everything. The thing is, BM doesn't list ingredients any ware on the product, just the box. Like everyone else I threw it right away. I finally went to their website and found out their products are full of all kinds of chemicals and minerals are only used for the color portion. There are ingredients that could cause burning and all sorts of reactions. There is only one company out there last uses only minerals (Larinem). I do like mineral make up, it work well to make your own foundation by mixing it with your favorite moisturizer. Please read all lables and go to sites like skindeep.org to check out chemicals in their products and what they will do to you. Good Luck!

I bought this set about a month ago, and they have a "60 day worry free gaurentee"yeah that's a lie. I called to return it today, explained how I have everything except the brushes that my dog chewed up and cannot use it because it chemically burns my face. I was pretty much told that they could not return my money since I didn't have the complete set with brushes and all. I asked if I could take a hit for the brushes and just be refunded the difference and was told that was not possible since the brushes were worth $70 alone, and I had paid $80 for it all including shipping. I was also told that I was not allowed to sell it on [] as they were throwing lawsuits on people who were doing that...Ummm then why do I see it there all the time? My only option was to give it away to someone..GIVE IT AWAY?? After what I paid for it and cannot use it?? I talked to three different CS specialists and was told the same story that I couldn't return it because of not having the brushes. This thing is a complete rip off...do not buy it.

I purchased the product from a TV infomercial. The colors were not
anywhere near a match. The concealer does not cover. The brush looses hair continually. The powders sit on my face like I applied baking flour. I immediately canceled the 'club'. In the past year I have tried to 'learn' to apply it three times. Each time I have had the same results. I thought it was my old skin. i just found this web site because of another product.....So now I will not try to pass it off to another victim....into the trash it goes. Thanks to you all.

As several people have already mentioned, I bought and used BM and, although it seemed to work for a few days, I suddenly found my skin itching, red, and developing welts shortly thereafter. I actually made a trip to a dermatologist for the first time in my life because of it! The doc had seen it before (other women had come to see her with the same skin reactions). She reviewed with me the ingredients on the label and proceeded to tell me what each one was and the way in which it can affect the skin. Mica and other chemical "minerals" in the blend can cause tremendous irritation, which I was experiencing. She prescribed an anti-inflammatory cream to speed my skin's recovery and told me to throw out BM immediately, if not sooner. "Minerals doesn't mean natural and safe" she said. I learned a great lesson that day! Good news is that my skin cleared within about a week and never had problems again, once I got rid of the BM.

I purchased the product from an infomercial and wore it for a few days until my son said I looked like a clown. I was so embarrassed as It looked as if I had some kind of mask on. When it got hot outside it looked like I had clay on my face. I went back to one of the boutiques tht they have in the mall and had the woman there that workes at the Bare Mineral counter help me find the right shade. She told me that I looked chalky and ashy after she applied the make up and that nothing there would match my skin color.
I don't appreciate them advertising as if their product matches every skin tone. That is a lie

Report these people to the Better Business Administration!

They enrolled me in a club without my explicit permission. I have unauthorized charges on my credit card. I returned it, and they say they never got it back. Doing business with these people has become a nightmnare.

Don't take it, report them!

I ordered bare minerals for my BD, i was sent the wrong shade, I paid the cost to sent it back. It is bare but I do not know if there are minerals in the product. I look like a walking ghost. There is no coverage and please do not sweat. My skin was on fire after one use. And when I took it off, my skin was red. I sent it back but not before they charged my credit card for the full amount. It does not keep the promises it makes.

I bought BM because I live in the Dominican Republic, were the heat doesn’t put up well with makeup. When I first put it one it does look natural and great, but it really doesn’t last very long. Actually, one has to be reapplying over and over again. Also, the congealer bit is not that good. It definitely does not cover ALL imperfections. Actually, it does not cover minor ones. This combined with the fact that it goes away fast leaves you looking as if you didn’t bother to put NOTHING on your face in an hour’s time. And I do love makeup in general and know how to apply it well. I followed every instruction, but it really doesn’t make a difference. Not worth the hassle.

I tried to order this product awhile ago, but ended up hanging up the phone. I told the sales rep. that I didn't want any of their other products repeatedly, but she kept on trying to get me to buy things like vitamins. She wouldn't stray from her script at all! They ended up losing my sale before I even bought the product.

I bought this product about 2 yrs. ago. I liked but was not crazy about it. My skin looked "grainy" after a few hours. Plus, if I was doing any work that caused me to sweat it made my skin feel like it was burning. When I used it to conceal any blemishes it would make the skin dry up around the blemish. This might sound great but it made the skin flake off and it looked disgusting. Basically you have to have perfect skin to wear this make-up and a big wallet to pay for it.

I purchased this product. Not only is the service horrible, as they sent me the wrong color the first time. There is nothing remotely natural in the way it goes on the skin. The brushes fall apart, your better off using the mineral make-up you can buy in your local drug store. It's just a lot of hype, and smoke screens. Not worth it, and it did not improve my basically good complexion, it actually made it worse.

I am so glad i found this site. I tried the BM line in September 07 and have ben using it since. I occasionally break out and would use the concelear to hide it. i k ept rebreaking out in the same spots that I would apply it.. so I would use more to cover the growing area. Soon after I started developing large red bumps on my skin that i had never had before. I would use the concelear to cover those and i would develope more. i never thouht that it could be the make up until now. I have bad scarring in a cluster on my jawline and am worried it wont go away. I know there is something in the makeup that cause it. I will stop using it at one and hope it goes away. The company was less than sympathetic to me. I would not recommend this makeup to anyone.

I have fairly normal, very fair skin, and I have been looking for something to cover the occasional redness I get around my nose. The infomercial looked promising, and women at work swore by this product, so I figured I'd give it a go, and went into my local shop to purchase some foundation. I was sold on the idea that it was good for my skin and came in shades light enough for my pale complexion. The sales girl gave me a quick demo and sold me a $60 starter kit and sent me on my way. First, I couldn't actually *see* the redness go away without caking it on with the concealer brush, which I ended up using over my entire face because both the kabuki and face brushes scratched. A lot. Then, a few weeks later, I noticed I was getting large, red spots/blemishes around my nose and forehead, where I was using the product the most. I followed the instructions on the video and applied *more* bare minerals with the concealer brush over the spots. BIG MISTAKE. The spots didn't go away, and I stopped using the product immediately. Two months later, I have scarring on my face for the first time where those spots where. I've tried to return the product, but because I used it, the store will not accept a return. I still use the concealer brush now with my MAC concealer to cover the blemishes, as it's a very useful brush, but the other brushes and powders are sitting in my drawer collecting dust. What a rip off!

I ordered Bare Minerals from the infomercial about 4 years ago and reccomend the product but only when purchased in stores. The info order I placed signed me up for the "club" which had too-frequent deliveries which were bothersome to re-set. The regular club delivieries were significantly smaller sizes of the product. You really have to follow instructions to get the best out of this product: if you're oily, mineral veil both before and after regular application.

I wanted to try this product because they said it was actually good for your face. I was tired of liquid foundation clogging my pores so I ordered Bare Minerals online. Through their website. BIG mistake. The makeup was fine, I liked it immediately. Well, the next month rolled around and another shipment came. I thought it was odd that they shipped it to me without me ordering it. Turns out I was enrolled in some sort of membership club, without my knowledge, and they charged my card...also without my knowledge. The first month it happened, I was dumb enough to say "ok, I like the product, I'll keep using it" but then they started sending me all kinds of things by mail (that I did NOT order) and charging my card. When I called to cancel (cancel something I didn't enroll myself in to begin with) the woman was rude, kept trying to sell me things, told me what OTHER clubs I could join and trying to talk me into different payment plans as well. I was pissed. The makeup is fine, if used correctly. You constantly have to clean the brushes or they'll get clogged and cause your face to look caked on. That may be with any powder you foundation though. My advise is, if you want to try the product, order through []. That way you can order what you WANT instead of what the company wants to stick you with.
