Well I just tried to order the Bender ball today. I called the 1-800 number that was on T.V. & got an automated system & placed my order of 1 benderball, after I gave my credit card number the automated system tried to sell me 20 different things from an upgraded DvD, to diet pills, to food they can mail to you. And nearly 30 mins later I was still on the phone and was not told what exactly I had ordered or what the amount was that would be charged to my card. I went to the website and got the customer service number, tried to cancel my order because still then talking to a live person, no one could tell me how much was ordered to my credit card & no one could seem to find me in the system and was told told it would take 2-3 Days for my order to process. Any one knows that is ridiclous. Asked to speak to the manager, she got on the phone told me well maybe I can call back in 8-10hrs and maybe it will be in the system. I was very upset and ask to have the corporate office number. She exlpained that she does not have that number. I said so you work for a company & are the manager and you do not know or have the corporate office number, she said no just the address. That is when I told her then this must be a scam, then called my bank and cancelled my credit card. So they will not get a dime of my money. Eat that Bender Ball.

I love the ball but I do not love them taking additional money out of my account (almost 50 bucks) for more DVD's they have sent me. I have yet to receive the DVDs to return them they say it can take 14 days then I do not get the credit until it is scanned back in to the warehouse and the credit can take up to 2 weeks after that! I recall that there is a place on the web-site that ask you if you want to sign up for the Eboost and I checked no and they still took it out of my account. I read reviews about it and made sure I watched out for that. I would suggest anyone call to order, take the name of the person and DO NOT order over the internet!

I like many others on this site, saw the Bender Ball commercial and thought it would be something good I could use to help me exercise. Little did I know that they would start charging my credit card for 2 DVD workouts that I declined. After calling the Bender Ball company, requesting a refund, and being told that I would have to wait until I got the product and sent it back before I got a refund..I went to www.bbb.org and put in a complaint. 2 Business days later I got a call from the company apologizing for the mistake, telling me that had cancelled my account, and agreeing to a full refund regardless to whether or not I decided to keep their product. They seem to respond very quickly when the BBB contacts them. This is definitely the route to take with companies like this.

My sister requested the bender ball for Christmas and I gladly ordered her one on line for $12.99 plus shipping and handling. That should be the end of story but it is not. On Saturday I received in the mail 2 DVD's from Bender Ball with a letter advising me that they charged the credit card I used for the initial order $39.98 plus shipping and handling (they did not say how much shipping was). Today, I called the company and advised them that I did not order the product, did not want the product, certainly did not authorize use of my card for anything other than the initial purchase and I wanted the charge removed immediately. Long story short, spoke to "Judy" (would not give her last name), who advised that she would e-mail the corporate office with my complaint and get back to me. When I asked for the e-mail address or mail address of corporate she told me she was not at liberty to give this info out. What kind of scam company is this? I have advised my credit card company not to pay these charges or any future charges from Bender Ball. I also intend to report them to the BBB. Now I know why people are reluctant to purchase goods via the internet. I feel like the victim of a scam. Has anyone found a solution to dealing with this company. Thank you.

I wish I had read these comments BEFORE I ordered the Bender Ball online. I wanted to try their product, but I DO NOT want to be "automatically" enrolled to receive more products as they charge my credit card every other month! This is very unethical. This company should list such an offer separately for the customer to choose...not "bury" it within our purchase order. I tried calling their customer service line to cancel future shipments, but was unable to get through. An automatic message put me on hold for over 15 minutes and then suddenly hung up on me. In order to avoid any more hassles, I contacted me credit card company and told them my story. Luckily they were able to help me by cancelling my current card and setting me up with a new one. My current purchase ($20.91) with Bender Ball will remain, but at least they won't be able to charge me for future shipments. I also checked the Bender Ball Privacy Policy and it mentions giving out customer information to other providers. What the hell! There is a link you can click on though to opt out of any promotional offers from other companies. Hopefully it works! What a rip off!

Chalk up another victim. Ordered the product as a gift in December and got the piece of junk in about 2 weeks. That was well and good but I just noticed some mystery charges on my January card statement totaling $43.97 for something I didn't order and didn't receive from these clowns. After trying to contact these idiots for about a week I have given up, cancelled my cards, and reported them to my cc companies fraud department. FU Bender Ball.

I too was taken by the scam. 20 minutes of pushing buttons to keep from buying OTHER products I didn't want. After reading this forum...I also cancelled my discover card in fear of MORE charges without my knowledge. STAY AWAY FROM THE BENDER BALL!

After paying large shipping costs we got our bender ball. My daughter has used it and is not very impressed. It was cheap and I thought worth the try. Then the real problem began. If you do not watch your credit card account you will be automatically enrolled in a monthly DVD program and you will be charged for DVD's that you never ordered. Good luck getting a refund. if you connect with customer service (some where in the world) they have their prepared routine on handling this. They will offer free shipping on future deliveries. I was told to pay shipping and handling and return the DVD's for my credit. NO way. I offered to put the DVD's in my mailbox and Leslie of Bender Ball fame can come by herself and pick them up. Fortunately I used AMEX and they aggressively challenge charges like this that border on fraud. Stay away from this scam.

I have been working in the fitness industry for over 20 years teaching group classes and as a personal trainer. I currently own a training studio, and like to test new equipment. I was curious about the Bender Ball, and ordered one at the end of November, 2007. I noticed a couple strange things about the website - if you weren't careful to uncheck boxes, you could unwittingly be duped into making unintended purchases. The shipping rates were astronomical as well - something I did not find out until my account was charged. There were no specific shipping fees mentioned on the website, but I figured "How much could cost?", right? hah! I am fairly satisfied with the method and principal of the product, however, over a month later my checking account was debited by Bender - totally unauthorized transaction. When I called Bender to rectify the situation, I was not allowed to speak with a supervisor or anyone in billing. I am having to go through my bank's dispute department to have this charge (for what product, I have no idea!) reversed. Bender is fighting with my bank at this point. Apparently, they have counterfiled! Do not buy this product. The unfortunate issue is that the product is not half bad. If Bender wasn't trying to rip clients off they would probably do pretty well with it.

Like everyone else who has posted, I am extremely disappointed in the Bender Ball. The product took several weeks to arrive, and it is flimsy and won't even hold air. I also noticed on my receipt that I'll be receiving another shipment in 30 days, which I did *not* sign up for. I am very careful about this kind of thing when ordering products, and I am certain that I did not agree to any additional shipments. Fortunately, my bank has issued me a new card so that Bender Ball cannot continue to charge me in the future, and I am also filing a dispute claim. What a scam! I can't believe they are even allowed to operated as a business.

I only wish I had read this site first. I spent over 1/2 hr on phone pressing zeros in order to only order 1 ball/DVD and no other 'specials' (all the time hoping that I could speak to a real person-didn't happen). When I got it there was 2 kits and when saw invoice, I was charged twice for shipping the 2 measly little boxes. Quality of balls was atrocious and inflating was near to impossible to achieve, I didn't bother opening DVD after reading all these comments. I phoned, after holding for over 1/2 hr, got woman to give me RMA# (after her saying she couldn't pull up my info), had them confirm that I wasn't signed up for their 'membership' and have quickly returned both today. I, unlike others on this site, had received them within quick time (ie, ordered on 6th and received on 15th), so I'm hoping that this will put a stop to the inevitable ghost charges that others got. I have notified my credit card of the potential fraud that may occur and have kept details/copies of everything. I don't understand how this company is still allowed to advertise on main TV stations with such a fraudulent activity continuing. Something should be done now and quickly. Anyone want to begin a class action suit????

I ordered the Bender Ball about 1 month ago and received it in the amount of time they predicted, which was fine. I was surprised and a little disappointed in the product, but thought that I would still give it a whirl. I had difficulty keeping the ball inflated and was very disappointed with DVD exercises. I did however read the fine print and knew that they would be automatically charging my card monthly for new DVDs and cancelled that in time. However, the most disturbing part is that they gave my number and credit card information to a marketing company which tried to enroll me in another program over the phone. I would seriously have to reconsider ordering from TV or internet again.

After purchasing the Bender Ball they are still debiting my bank account. The customer service number on their website is not even Bender Ball, it is some Sunglass Company. The woman I talked to claims that they receive these calls all the time. It is impossible to get ahold of anyone and determine why they are making unauthorized debits against my bank account. Horrible Product

Yet another broken record here ! My girlfriend ordered the bender ball and has run into the same issue as everyone else that has posted here... 40+ dollars later after selecting no to all additional offers and several weeks have gone by... still no bender ball... She has called and requested a refund, the person on the line stated that they would refund for the extra charges and that here (Super Awesome consumer Headache inducer)I mean bender ball will arrive in 3-5 business days. I have a feeling that we will be sadly disappointed hence the lack of optimism I get after reading all of your stories. I would like to ask the posters of this site, has anyone had success at getting there money back ? Also has anyone entered a formal complaint with the BBB ? If so What was the outcome ?

I had the same problems. Was sent DVD's I didn't want and it was difficult to re-air the ball. The plug caused the hole to expand. However, I figured out a fix for that air problem: criss-cross the hole with scotch tape. Use a large paper clip to poke a small hole in the center. Then carefully insert a thin plastic hollow coffee stirer and blow. It works.
1/12/2008 - Dennis writes:
The plastic plug does expand the hole making it very difficult to re-fill the ball with air. For those of you who are having a problem getting air into the ball, here's how I got around the problem: criss cross the hole with scotch tape. Poke a small, I repeat, a small hole in the center. Then use a plastic hollow coffee stirer and blow. It works. I got more air into the ball then I did when I first blew it up. Over all I found that the product does work my abs. To bad the ball is a bit crappy and yes, the DVD's aren't that great. It will be interesting to see what happens when I cancel.

I cant get ahold of anyone on a Sunday. i will keep trying. THis is very upsetting when you use your check card and expect only 9 not 44...I am angry.... I will report to every place possible for this...
