I bought this like everyone else via the infomercial. I was also surprised to see my credit card statement charged for $83.70 and called to ask why. I was told there was a recipe club with books that I also joined. I never agreed to any club and asked to cancel that immediately and get a refund. They told me no problem. Two months goes by and I get another shipment of recipe books and another bill for another $13.90. I was pissed and called customer service again. I was told they forgot to cancel the subscription and this time it was canceled and I would get a refund for $13.90. I told them I wanted 2 refunds since I never got the first refund and was told when I return the first set of books I will get the second refund and that I did not need to send back the second set of books. I sent them back as requested and waited. Two more months goes by with no refund so I call a third time. Now I am told they never will give me the refund since it's past 90 days! Customer service lies and tells you anything to get you off the phone! The product is horrible also. Hard to clean, and the non-stick surface peels after a few uses. This is a horrible product and a horrible company who is not all all concerned with customer satisfaction after they get your money! I should have hung up when I first called and went through the long automated buying process. I was wary at the time and even commented to my husband I was worried about what I was going to get charged on the credit card because they kept trying to sell me other things also! DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I love this Website! People get to help people and that is why it is so valuable to me! Saves me money for I am a Sucker for Infomercials. This is my story and I am sticking to it: I bought the GT EXpress 101 on August 14, 2006 at the insistence of Big Mama. I must say that on the TV presentation like it could do anything but stand on its head and sing "La Bamba". The so called Host (whatever her name) is a popular host in infomercials and I must admit she exudes authority and confidence with her presence (she reeled me in like an innoent trout!)with her demonstration and the virtues of the GT Express. All it took was for Big Mama to see this infomercial 1 or 2 times and in the third time she was ready to order. Which we did. The product is like a George Foreman Grill but not quite. It is mostly designed for sandwiches, small burritos or portions of food that they can fit in the two assigned compartments. The concept looked "darn good" with all these culinary creations taking place at once and the master "manipulator" wearing a chef outfit (or so it seemed). So I went online (I refuse to order by phone if I can help it) and of course, they tried to up the ante by offering their top of the line model for 30 or 40 percent more money, which I by default refused. Here is the deal: Buy one, Get one Free! (just pay S&H) Sounded Good! The non-stick surface would guarantee minimum mess and speed of delivery, total price $70.00. But when we received and opened the package I realized, to my dismay, that this thing was way too small and chastised myself for not having bought their model up offer. I tried to adjust by cutting the slices of bread in two and proceeded to create a standard ham and melted cheese, with extra garlic for me, (I had the good sense not to use both GT Express, left one untouched while I tried one). The sandwich came out tasty, the cheese melted, the garlic alive with flavor, the ham hot, so I kind of resigned myself to the limited size. That is when I noticed that the non-stick coating had peeled off. On my second try! WoW! So I cleaned it up, packed it and insured the box (I knew I was already in a loosing proposition but I wanted to minimize possible shocks!), ended up paying $16.00 at the Post Office. About 45 days later and after several calls to the CS Department I received my refund: $39.99. Lost almost $30.00 plus the $16.00=$46.00 Buckaroos I could have easily given to a good charity instead to this inferior money grabbing outfit. Sorry it took so long, I got long winded with the memory! Will leave you with the words of a beatiful Post Office employee when she heard my predicament, she said: "If they don't sell it at [] or [], you probably don't need it". What about the people that appears in these infomercials? They look so honest and real (while in actuality they are paid actors good enough for the role)and a deep felt thanks to everyone who takes the time to warn others about this and other scams. Long Live this Site and Long Live America and its Wonderful People!!

I haven't received the GT Xpress yet but I am so angered by the automated system through which the ordering is done. I called yesterday after deciding with my husband that we would like just one. Of COURSE they want your credit card number first. I should have stopped there. Instead, I placed the order and then couldn't get off of the phone. No, I don't want another machine. No, I don't want the recipe books. No, I don't want a subscription. When you tell them no, they ask you two or three more times if you're sure. At this point, my head was swimming and I knew it was a bad situation. I tried desperately to reach customer service but couldn't. I wrote down the customer service phone number and have called and called DURING OPERATING HOURS and no one will answer. I don't want the machine at all now. I just want out! This company needs to be stopped! I am so disappointed that my local news station would play this infomercial!

Hmmmm-how did a $49.99 (+S&H)end up costing $123.00? First, it was 38.00 for shipping, then there was the mysterious Mix and Bake Set that I was charged 14.95 for - I didn't order it, nor did I receive it. Then there was the subscription (!) to the recipe collection--that cost 9.95 and I now have to attempt to cancel because I NEVER ordered it. Some odd items were included such as a steak knife set and knife block and a mini stirrer (and I mean mini) I did receive 2 GT xpress (one was the larger one with a 10.00 upgrade charge.) I have actually used and like it, but the billing is a little on the shady side. The recipe subscription is what really irritated me---Seems like a decent product with a whole lot of deception in the billing. Too bad.

This item is defective. One week after geting it The little red plastic light fell off into my food I saw it threw out egg and started over. 3 weeks after that, the teflon began to bubble and peel. it has gotten worse as time has gone on ,and now I had teflon in my food I threw out and did not use .I tryed contacting Customer service to request info maybe regarding recall and report this defect. They had no idea what that ment. Customer service had been out sourced to the Philippens,They were not aware what recall ment til I explained the dangers behind eating the food with teflon , Since it was given to me as a gift I did not have reciept so I could not get a replacemnt. Years ago a product I believe proter silex FRYBABYS were recalled for the same problem They took care of that asap. This will now be used as a paper weight.I loved it while it worked ,but now as a consumer who can we get to fix this issue. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED!! Thanks .

Ok, well Saturday the 23rd of June, my boyfriend saw this product on TV. He called me and wanted me to order it for him. The one where you get 2 for the price of one. So I called Saturday and placed my order over the phone with a automated machine. Later that day, I checked my bank account and 69.80 was taken out. So I assumed everything went right with this transaction. The next day, Sunday, I checked my bank account balance again. The money was placed back into my account and that transaction had vanished from my list of transactions. So I called the company and spoke with a foreign women. All she could tell me was that the order did not go through, she didn't know why, it just didn't go through, thats all she kept saying. At this time I was a little irratated and told her to let me speak with someone who could tell me something more. She then transferred to a man in the Phillipines and all he could tell me was that the order did not go through, I was more than welcome to place another order. After all this hassle I just thought forget it, I don't want your product. He assured me that no one had my information and that my order was indeed cancelled. So I thought all was over with it. I keep a pretty regular check up on my account, so all week I was looking in it and everything was right. Thursday the 28th i checked again, and all was normal. That friday I did not get a chance to check it. However, Saturday morning I went to check it and the company had taken another 69.80 out of my account WITHOUT my permission and I now have a 55$ over draft fee. Im certain I talked with someone on the weekend last week because I am only at this work place on the weekends, and I know I was here when I spoke with him. Now this weekend, I can't get ahold of anyone. I do not advise anyone getting this product. After my expeirence and reading other peoples, this seems like a regular thing for this company. I am very IRATE and will NOT recommend anyone doing business with this company.

I ordered the GT Express 101 on May 31, 2007. It was a buy one get one free deal and for the advertised price of $39.90+$14.95 for S/H each split up in 2 easy payments. Needless to say, my credit card was billed $103.00 on June 11th but no product. I called the customer service line and was told they were closed even though it was during normal business hours. After numerous times trying, I finally reach a rep in the Phillipines who stated that my order had been shipped therefore I cannot cancel. They could not explain why I was billed so much and told me not to except the package when it arrived. It is now June 22 and I have yet to see this wonderful machine. I was told it was shipped on June 7th and after I stated it doesn't take 2 weeks to ship from Oh to Il she was speechless. She then told me It arrived at my post office on June 11th. My local post office cannot locate the package. I am definately going to report GT MEDIA or GT MERCHANDING LLC amongst the other names they go by to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General. This is a total SCAM. I've definately learned my lesson...when it looks too good to be true...it's usually not!!

I ordered one GTXpress, received one GTXpress, and was billed $153.50. I called and they attempted to explain the breakdown of the charges. I explained that I only ordered one, received only one. They stated that I can get verification from the post office that I received only one package. Gave me a fax # 800-456-1139 to fax and they stated they would then credit my account. I am not holding my breath.

6/17/2007 - Tamika writes:
I too saw the infomercial for the GTXpress and I called the automated service; (which I wasn't really pleased with talking to a machine). Well anyway, the commercial said buy one get one free so the automated system asked if I would like a second GTXpress and of course I said yes since it was free. Well it took nearly two months before I got the product and when I did get it I recieved four gtxpress machines and a charge of $153.00 shown on the invoice. I checked my debit card account and the charge was made the day before I actually recieved it, but I ordered it almost two months prior to recieving it. Which I believed to be shady business practice by taking so long to charge an account. Well I called the customer service line and spoke with a woman who I believed lived no where near the U.S.,, she was rude and informed me that I could return the product but I would only be credited about $40.00 back when I was charged over $150.00. I was so disappointed in the product because it is so small and this experience has made me never want to order anything on tv again. They are scam artists and they should be clear about their advertisments. If someone says buy one get one free and then ask you how many do you want...logically you would say TWO because the second is free, well not with these guys. I guess the only logic these people use SCAM logic.

My wife ordered a GTXat $39.90 and they said she would get one free. So instead of 2 she received 4 at a total cost of $153.50 The shipping alone was $63.50. They offered to refund for the 2 if we shipped them back at our expense ($12.55. This is a good example of deception bordering on fraud.Beware!

I was recovering from brain surgery and saw the ad for this product on t.v. with my mom. My mom mentioned it to my father on the phone later that day and he purchased the GT express buy one, get one free deal for 39.90 + shipping and handling the second week of May. After waiting a few weeks he gave them a call and they told him it would arrive at my house the following day. Lo and behold, no package. I had the same problem as other people in regards to calling them. I would call during normal business hours and receive the recorded spiel telling me the office was closed and to call back during normal hours. That happened three times over a two week period. Three other times during those two weeks I spoke to a person who would tell me "oh, it shows that it should arrive tomorrow or the day after." each time, no delivery. So today I give them a call and question them as to why I was reaching a recording during business hours and why were they constantly changing the dates of arrival. Of course, she was speechless...which was a wise thing for her to be. As soon as I threatened to report them to the better business bureau she had a USPS tracking number for me. I immediately went to the USPS website after hanging up, put in the tracking number and guess what...it shipped today! They lied every time I spoke to them during the last month and didn't even ship it until I told them I would be reporting them to the BBB. Needless to say, I'll be reporting them anyway, in every venue I can and I suggest every one else do the same. The cost for this wonderful experience was $87.30. Far more than advertised or agreed to on the phone so I'll contest that credit card charge as well. I implore everyone who still hasn't received their product to make contact with the company and mention turning them into the Better Business Bureau. I bet you receive a tracking number pronto!

I placed an order over the phone to receive one Xpress Grill plus the FREE one for a one time payment of $39.90 plus S/H ($15). But, when I checked my credit card, I was charged $139.60. I called them to cancel my order and dispute the charges on my credit card, but they could not find my account, They told me that I had to wait 72 hours, but I made the call 5 days after placing the order. I called a week later and still no account info! So I don't even know If i will receive them! I have read several reviews/complaints and a lot of people are being charged for 2 orders. So not only will I be receiving 4 grills but I was also charged $15 for S/H per item!!!! The worse part is if you want a refund they WILL NOT refund you the S/H ($60), and you have to pay to ship it back. I am going to call my credit card company and have them reverse the charges and issue an investigation. These people are running a scam!!!

I just received the GT Express and was shocked when my credit card was billed $83.70. The infomercial does not state that you will be responsible for paying double shipping and handling. After looking at the size of the gadget, I too, have determined the wells are too small to make the items I had hoped to make. I will be returning and pray that I will be credited appropriately. I am also not sure why I was billed 9.99 for recipe books and additional s/h of 3.99 when I said no to that part of the order request. I am not pleased with this experience at all.

I ordered the GTexpress back in March 2207, they billed me 131.00, (this was supposed to be 2 payments) I have yet to receive the product. I have called several times for a credit, as of today, May 21st, still nothing. I called them today, and got the run around about how they are trying to track the shipment. Real SCAM

I placed my order over the phone on May 5, 2007 for the 2 for 1 offer. $40.00 (2 for 1) 14.95 S&H Totalling $54.95 on my Discover card. I received the order 5/11/07 and tried calling during business hrs. with no luck getting through the recording saying call during bus. hrs. I was calling at the right time! They sent me 4 boxes with a slip inside showing $153.00 no way! I'm contacting discover and consumer protection and anyone else this is wrong and they shouldn't get away with this at all.

My complaint is the same as Robins posted on 4/25/07 so I will simply parrot her remarks: [] They did the same thing to me. It was a buy one-get one free offer. Buy one at $39.90 and the second is free if you pay shipping for it. I was charged $79.80 (they sent me 4!) and charged me $63.75 !!!! for shipping!! They also charged me $9.95 for #1 recipe collection and if I don't cancel they will send me more every month. This is a super scam and I hope more people report them.

I ordered from their tv commerical. My order was supposed to cost 2 payments of $19.95 & I agreed to pay the $39.95 at one time. I called to find out when the merchandise would be delivered and discovered they had charged me $90.00, not $39.95. I refused the shipment and was credited back only $59.80. I called them to get their address and was told it was Company policy not to give out that information. I plan to call the Concumer Affairs and the BBB. I told the girl in the Phillipines why I needed the info and she told me what I previously mentioned about company policy

I called the number (800-357-9213) to order my GT Xpress. When I learned that shipping was $14.95 EACH I said "No thank you". But they already had my credit card info, so they processed the order anyway. The first payment of $49.85 was charged. Upon receipt of the unit I called and got an RMA. I also requested that they send me a prepaid UPS label. The lady I spoke with said she would instead credit the original amount, plus $10 to cover return shipping. When I checked the credit, only $29.95 was credited. So I am short almost $30. I called my bank to contest the charge and they told me I had to work it out with GT Express. Their phone is busy when I try to call.

I bought GT Xpress at price $39.90 (by one get one free)on the phone last Sunday, I got my order five days later; that seems normal, but the total charge was $83.70 , I was surprise that P & H fee was $33.95 and additional $9.95 for recipe (I was told the shipping fee was $14.99 for each item and never heard the recipe charge when I placed order). I called the customer service and was told the recipe charges will be continue if I don't cancel "the recipe collection order", what was that? also the payment should be 2x$19.9 installation payment, but they took the full amount $83.70 right away when they shipped the order. This is the first time I order from infomercial,it let me feel very bad.

I ordered the GT Xpress & like other people thought that they had lost my order when it didn't come for over a month. When it did come, they had sent 4 units & of course charged me shipping on all, for a total of 153.50! I sent the boxes back unopened because I was so furious. They did credit 89.75 for the product, but haven't yet credited me for half of the shipping, as I requested. Their person in the Philippines told me that they would review my taped order (that was done completely without me speaking to anyone) & then make the decision if they would refund the shipping. This has been an expensive lesson--DO NOT ORDER FROM INFOMERCIALS!!!
