My wife ordered these hooks months ago (posting date is 10/1/07). She experienced the same hard ales pitch for other products etc., but really wanted to hooks, so she endured it and placed the order. The hooks never arrived. After a few more weeks with no sign of the hooks, my wife called to inquire(of course her credit card had already been charged). Customer service told her that they'd been sent to the wrong address (if true, it was their fault by the way, not ours) and that they had to wait a month to see if the order was returned before sending another order out. That was weeks ago and still no hooks. In the past few days, she's tried to call customer service, but can not even get through. This item is nothing but a scam, through and through. As it stands now, she'd notified the credit card copy, and they are investigating (and stopping any future charges, which thanks to this site, we've warned them about). I would be more than willing to share our story with any interested media (we'd love to know who is behind this nonsense rip off)!

Saw "Billy Mays" advertise this on TV. Went to the Web site. Started to enter an order. NEVER COMPLETED THE ORDER or hit SUBMIT. Ended up getting charged anyway, including for extra products that I never ordered either. Product ended up costing me significantly more than advertised. Worse, IT NEVER ARRIVED IN THE MAIL! Took me weeks of e-mails and phone calls to get a refund, but they did issue it in the end after I raised holy h*ll. STAY AWAY.

I tried to cancel an order for Hercules Hooks at the toll-free number (888)511-4140, which was advertised for cancellations. I had accidentally included something on the order that I didn't want. The operator told me that I could only "try" to cancel it. Then she told me to call back in a couple of hours and see whether it was cancelled or if it had shipped. How is that an opportunity to cancel?

Similar to many of the stories here, I saw this product on an infomercial. After placing the initial order for the product over the phone, I was forced to listen to several more offers for products I was not interested in, and did not want which is the most flagrant hard sell approach I have ever been forced to endure (other than a Timeshare sales pitch I once attended). After receiving the initial order, and paying my Credit Card, I received another order under the Lifetime Hooks program. There is no way I needed any more as I had only used 2 of the initial set, so learning that the Lifetime program meant getting them automatically, I wrote them, through their website, to cancel. They ignored my cancellation and continued to send. Since then, I have been billed for 3 shipping charges and received 3 packages, have written them 3 cancellation notices, and returned all 3 packages. I had my Creedit Card company reject the charges and block any further charges by sending them copies of all 3 of my cancellation emails. I received another package today, so I called them and explained my situation, and the woman in customer service said that since I had filed a dispute with the Credit Card company, I needed to speak to them, and hung up on me. I called back, got a different custer service person, male this time, but the results were the same.... they did not even try to be polite. They just said call your Credit Card company, and hung up. After this experience, not only wil I not buy Hercules Hooks, I probably wont buy from Infomercials or any product represented by the guy who does these infomericals. Oh, and I also filed a compaint with the BBB.

I purchased these back on July 2nd and still have not received the items, I called customer service and they send they would send right out, that was 2 weeks ago, still no items. They also over charge for priorty mail service to begin with, has this item can easily be mailed for $4.60 I suggest you avoid this company. My lawyer will be doing some busness with them very soon. Buyer beware

I placed my order online after seeing the infomercial. The order went through before I was told the shipping charge- $16.91 for shipping and handling for a $14.95 product. I immediately emailed them to cancel my order but they shipped it anyway. I received it, sent it back unopened. Disputed the S/H fee with them and DiscoverCard but did not win. I paid $16.91 for nothing. Am glad to hear they work well but I will wait to buy an imitation and not give HH any of my money.

Saw the infomercial and thought they sounded good. Ordered and as usual credit card was charged immediately. A couple days later got an email that said they had shipped the product. I noticed that the email contained a sentence about if I had a problem I should call an 800 number. This immediately set off an alarm. I waited for over a month and finally called the number because I still haven't received the product. Instead of waiting on the phone forever I opted to email them, but evidently from the other postings here that will also be useless. Guess I'll call the credit card company and see what they suggest.

Do not buy Hercules Hooks. They do not give you a confirmation page prior to purchase so you end up being charged 10.95 S&H for each box, without ever being told. They refuse to acknowledge my emails, only replying with that I should call customer serivce and then customer service says the can not discuss that and I should email customer serivce.

Saw this product on an infomercial. They were giving away a free laser level with the order, and lifetime replacement warranty on the product. I should know that if it sounds too good to be true it is. I called the 800 number to place my order and got an automated system, from which there was no escape, and no way to speak to a live person. After placing the initial order for the product I called in for (Hercules Hooks with laser level for $15.00 + S&H = $25.00) using the automated system, I was forced to listen to several more offers for products I was not interested in, and did not want. I could not get out of the automated system and could not simply press the same key to say "no" to all the rest of the offers. After going through four additional offers, and declining them, I refused to stay on the phone and hung up. I was billed $123.77 for products that I did not order. When I called in to complain via the number provided on my credit card bill, they told me to return the products to sender and that my card would be credited. To add insult to injury, apparently the additional products, that I did not order - but were sent, were two flashlights. This whole scam infuriated me. Why would anyone in their right mind pay $100.00 for two flashlights!? Anyway, I returned the products to sender as they sugguested, and over a month later I still had no credit on my credit card. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and that required the cancellation of my existing card. So, this has caused me a lot of unnecessary aggravation. In addition to being over charged by $100.00. My suggestion is if you can't speak with a live person, then do not place an order!

Ordered this product and got ripped off for shipping and handling charge which you do not know about until it is too late. Never received the product! Three attempts to contact have never been ansered. Will investigate contacting credit card company.

I purchased this product quite some time ago and they work very well. The problem is the lifetime scam they are running. They lead you to believe that any time after that, all you have to do is order more and pay the shipping. What they fail to tell you is that they will automatically send them every 2 months and charge you account without your knowledge. I already have enough to last the rest of my life! After several attempts to speak with a live person, I sent an email. Of course, that did nothing. I have called my credit card company and put an alert on these charges. After the rep. sat on hold for a very long time, she agred to put an alert on this vendor that these charges are being disputed. Hopefully, they will block any future charges, but time will tell. What a scam, I will never buy anything off the TV ever again!

Placed phone order on July 16th and was charged $28.06 for a order of$14.99 plus shipping/handling have never received the hooks. sent 3-email and phoned 3 times to no avail. Then went to computer and read all the other complaint. A lesson well learned never order on phone or on line without reading about other people's experiences with the company you want to buy from.

I am not complaining about the product itself. It is the practices of the company that are suspicious. I ordered the Hercules Hooks through their website and also found the process to be strange. I did actually sign up for the lifetime program (because I meant to give some away as gifts.) BUT as "Marcia" wrote in a previous complaint, the offer was "whenever you NEED them FREE for life... just pay shipping and handling." This insinuates that I would be the one requesting them. The offer DID NOT read that "we will automatically send them to you every two months". Anyway.... The order on the website never generated an invoice so that I could even verify what was ordered. Nothing came in the mail for almost two months. So I went online and called their customer service. I finally received my order in a plain bubble wrap envelope, but again there was no invoice inside! A week or two later I received a second package, and I thought that this was just an additional order that was sent because I had called in. I noticed and additional charge on my credit card account, but wasn't going to fuss about it since I did receive the product. But when I received another package a couple months later I did not understand what was going on! Once again, there is absolutely so invoice inside the package, so you have to guess at what is going on. So I am still in the process of trying to cancel my lifetime supply of Hercules Hooks!! I think I will try to contact the Attorney General also.

Hercules Hooks misleading infomercial and automated phone ordering process have frustrated me to no end. I have received 3 additional charges and packages of hooks (that I don't want or need) since my order last winter. I have tried to speak to a real person who will do something about it, to no avail. Looks like the only way out is to cancel my credit card that they are billing. What a SCAM!

I too feel scammed by Hercules Hooks. I have received 2 bills on my credit card, besides my original order. I received my original large pkg of hooks, then a smaller one 6 wks later. Am told that another is on it's way. I called them today and was told that I ordered lifetime hooks and my order is valid because I used their automated system which does not make mistakes!!! I Did Not order lifetime hooks!!! This would have gone on until I called to cancel. I have asked for proof of cancellation and they are supposed to send me an invoice letter showing cancellation. Another note is that in the original order there was no invoice. Do they leave this out because the invoice would show you that you have signed up for lifetime hooks? Is that their way of getting out of notifying you before they get another month or two of billing from you? Of course there are no refunds or returns---never notified of this either!

This company has terrible customer service. I ordered this product on May 26th, I received a notice it was shipped on May 29th and to the date haven't received it. I'm a little annoyed since I've e-mailed them twice and no response. Spoke to someone through the phone and said it was shipped on May 31st and to give 7-11 business days for delivery. If I would have known this I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm really annoyed since the website doesn't state this [].

This company is doing a very good job of concealing the fact that when you place an order you are joining a life long plan of automatically purchasing more hooks every two months. I called to complain and be removed from the automatic re-order plan, and the other-wise curteous representative argued with me about whether they are sneaky about the auto-reorder plan. I see many other people have had the same complaint.

Every six weeks since I ordered these things, I have received an order I did not place. Of course, I am charged each time. I have spoken to several people in their customer service department, only to have one order credited. I even offered to send the orders back, if they would pay for shipping. They agreed, but I never received the mailing label I was promised. I like the hooks, but this company is unethical, and by sending me and charging me for something I did not order is illegal. The hooks are now sold at []. I wish I had waited!

I am also a victim of their "lifetime" order scam. I refused the shipment and called my credit card company. The credit card was credited. I have e-mailed them and told them to take my name off of their records.

What a scam Hercules is doing! This sound similar to the CD Music of the month club. They continue to ship items whether you want them or not and then they continue to bill you every 60 days. At least the CD Music of the month club notifies you up front and is truthful in advertising by informing you that they will bill your credit card. This company does it without your knowledge! I had to contact the Tennessee Attorney General to voice my complaint. If more people took this step (contacting the Tennessee Attorney General), they can hopefully shut this scam of a company down.
