When I saw the infomercial, I got caught right up in it and ordered 3 as gifts. One of the three came already broken and another one was very hard to windup after the first cast. Needless to say it hasn't been used since. In terms of the broken one, I sent it back and never received a new one or my money back. I have e-mailed the company and have not received one word back. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

The Instant Fisherman sucks! The only thing I caught was hell. The retrieval grinds and wears your arm out after 2 throws. I have had numerous problems with these rods and do not plan to use them anymore. Do not buy this product!

I saw the commercial for this product, and was so excited. I immediately ordered 2 for my brothers as Christmas presents. I did this 2&1/2weeks in advance, and agreed to pay extra for rush shipping. You would think this would have guaranteed delivery prior to Christmas, WRONG! I have made call after call to customer service, and waited forever to talk to a real person, and even then they barely spoke English. Now I find myself going to Wal-Mart at 6PM on Christmas Eve so that my brothers will have something to unwrap. I might add that this was not the shipping company's fault, but Instant Fisherman's for waiting so long to ship the product. I am cancelling my order, and will spread the word to everyone I know how pathethic this company is. If the way they handle their shipping and customer service is any indication of the quality of the product itself, I am not willing to take that chance. Instant Fisherman buyers beware!

What a rip off! I ordered the two units. The first time I had a chance (after two months)to use them, the unit hangs up about ten to fifteen feet out in the cast and causes the bait and tackle to go flying off. I was appalled at the grinding during the retrieve. I asked for info to return them and they have a strict 30 day return policy. Too bad some of us actually have to work for a living before we get a chance to use the product. It is junk and the "customer service" people are rude and uncaring. I believe the product should be banned from the ads as it is a bogus product. Too much hype, not enough quality and very misleading. I predict the demise of the product because of it's poor quality and the demise of the company unless it changes it's lack of real "customer service". Cheap, cheap, cheap.

I received this as as a joke among friends. Seriously, it was a great joke when a bunch of guys split the cost. I just want to warn everyone that this thing is the biggest waste of money you could imagine.

The Instant Fisherman is a complete scam. The Customer Service department are rude!!! Received two poles and they did not work at all - constantly locking up. We decided to return them and after 2 months have not received credit. Called to find out why and they are stating they only received one and will not refund any money unless they receive both.

This product sucks big time. I purchased two units for my kids. We were very disapointed and upset. The first unit broke on the first try, the handle actually flew into the water and the real locked. The second unit broke at the forth try, we were unable to real it back. I called the company and was offered replacement, but had to pay a rediculous shipping fee. They were very rude and did not want to accept a refund policy. After I told them I was going to call American Express they hung upon me. I called back and they put me on hold forever. I guess I lost out.Do yourself a favor, do not but this product.

I purchased two of the Instant Fisherman to carry in our camper. Looked like a good idea, boy was I wrong. The fist one quit working after the 3rd cast. Jambed up bad and could not reel in. The second one did make it to the 5th cast. Then the same thing. Currently trying to get my money back. Im sure I will when I contact Amarican Express for their gurantee.

I brought the instant fisherman for my fiance, and I never received the product. The company sent me an e-mail saying that my card was denied but the bank says that the purchase went through my account. I still have not received the product and they are still telling me that the card was denied. It has been 2 months since I ordered the fishing rod and still no product.

I don't know how to describe this product other than pure dissapointment! I never got to use either of them! The tip snapped off of the first one while I was setting the drag. The second one broke in half on the very first cast! Just like the rest of us I can't get any response back from the thieves who stole my hard earned money! Just like always folks, If it's too good to be true then It's Too Good To Be True!

I bought this for my hubbie and son who are avid fishermen, well, this sucks so bad. maybe its for catching some 3oz fish in a baby pond or something but definitely not for use off a jetty or for surf fishing. Its awful. Trying to get my money back, but based on what I've read, its not looking good!

My buddy bought two of these polls to try out, we went off our local jetty where we usually do pretty well, the current was strong that day so I put a 1 1/2oz sinker on and went to cast, as I whipped the poll back the line snaped and the weight, the hook, the bait went flying up into the air almost hitting another person, I was so emberassed. I decided to try it again so I rigged my line again and casted it out, well the tip of the poll broke in half and slid down the line into the water... Tried to reel it back in and the gears sounded like they were grinding metal to metal, I finally got it in, packed it up and left, I have called the company about 15 times now and have gotten no response, I am now writing a letter to the better business bureau so that I can get a full refund plus shipping. I let you all know how it works out. My advice is do the same, report this company. Here is the web site [] copy and paste this into your address bar and file a complaint.

i seen the ad for these on tv. bought 2 of them.they are a pos. reels don't work right. lines tangle all up and can't cast.tried to reel in a 3 pound cat fish and could not get the drag to work properly. what a piece of junk. i am very upset over this ripoff. i have an avid fishing person for over 50 years and never been so ripped off. do not buy these rods. and good luck trying to get anyone to answer you on the phone or by email as it will not happen. once they have your money you are done for it,they will never answer you. i sent 7 emails and after a threat of public advertisements on the ripoff they did email me 1 time and stated they had never got any precious emails.what a lie.

This is a big scam and the fool are still at it. I saw the advertisement on late night tv and I thought how perfect. Then it came in the mail and I took a scroll to the local park to try it out. The whole rod fell apart in my hand as I was trying to reel it in on my first fish of the day. I am a beginner fisher. I been fishing for probly 2 years and I can honestly say that this is the biggest POS I have ever seen in my entire life. In my 2 years of fishing this is the worst experience I have had in my life. I was so embarrassed, everyone was laughing at me when it fell apart. I called to try to get a refund and I was cursed out by the supervisor. I told them I would take legal action and he said that I was scammed, thats how business work so I need to get over it. Do not buy this product, you will regret it.

You could be a complete novice and know upon taking the pole out of the box it is a POS! This thing couldn't catch a cold much less a fish. The shark catch could have been done if it was re-spooled with something other than thread, and oh yeah... the shark would have to be dead. Even then I question if it wouldn't just snap from the piss poor construction of the pole. The company should send a roll of duct tape and a bottle of super glue to take care of all the repairs this thing will need right out of the box! if you buy it, you will hate yourself, trust me and go to [] or somewhere else and buy a pole that breaks down into pieces. They are in expensive and can be stored in just as small of space. This product isn't worth owning if it was free.
