My husband ordered the trail basis. He decided this was nothing but a scam. After three months we are still trying to cancel the monthly #39.95. The phone numbers are fake. I agree with Ken comments. How do we cancel the monthly charges?

I understand that nothing is as easy as the infomercials make them out to be. Everyone wants a free ride. I have bought many properties in CA and TX and they have done well for me. I wanted this for more education. This is one of the hardest ways to get properties. You can buy the tax certificate, but the owner has up to two years to buy it back, depending on the state. He does give the rules for a lot of the states. Don't know how accurate they are. The info in the books is outdated, he talks about laws that are going to change in 2001. Most of the website links that I tried are out of date. I spent hours going to non existent sites. Going to send it back, hope it is easier than what I read.

Most of the websites listed in the internet book don't exist or take you to a place that requires you to pay more fees to get information.

I am sleeping at a about 3 in the morning my television is on and I wake up to see John Beck telling about his great Idea. It says it will only cost 29.99 and free one month access to his Property Vault. Unfortunatly I order it. Then I get this e-mail that has billed 258.00 and no phone number to call and get it straighted up. I try the 800 directory, no 800 number. A bunch of numbers were ratted off to me as I ordered, but because it was an automated call they did not repeat the numbers. I still can not get hold of them.

12/4/2007 - Keith writes:
As everyone here can attest, this is a scam. I've been trying to cancel for several days and can't get it done. I keep getting ahold of phony phone numbers that leads to an automated operator that leads me to numbers 1,2,3,4 etc. and none of them work. No one picks up! Does anyone out there know how to get this debit from hitting one's credit card?

12/4/2007 - Matthew writes:
Hello, It is amazing to read about all of these scams. I have had personal experience dealing with John Beck. He and the system is a scam. In fact, I spoke to an attorney and he was able to locate the fact that John beck himself is a California attorney. This is how he is aware of pre-forclosures. All the common person has to do is go to their county tax attorney, which I did, and register for free. That way, you can get the exact same ifo on foreclosures. Anyway, I too called and ordered the tax vault. I DID get the money back. I almost had them charge me 4000 to my credit card, but fortunately they actually did refund me. I am lucky! I then immediately claimed stolen cards, so my bank issued me new cards. This way, there are no mysterious charges. It is a new card. I hate to hear how some people, like the diabled person, was duped. I know we live and learn and make decisions, but they are VERY GOOD at being bait-and-switch and just straight scamming. To this day, I still at times get calls from them wanting me to rejoin the team! They truly are scammers. Besides, the "coach" is just a Mentor from "Mentors of America" in Minnesota and Provo Utah. Really. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!

I too ordered last Sun. cancelled on Mon. was given a confirmation number, talked to a super. and was still charged $54.95. after being told my order was cancelled and I would not be charged. The web link does not work and the people are very rude. I am keeping a log of the info so if anyone wants to start a class action suit for fraud, pain and suffering and so on I am in and willing to put up money for that. Hey all, cancel your accounts now and start filing reports to the FTC immed. Why don't we all put up the money to place a commercial that airs right before his with testimonials? I am mad but we need to put that energy towards stopping this! Write to your congress, the local news media, the President! For every letter is one step closer to the end of the road for John Beck and his worker bees! My e-mail is [].

12/2/2007 - William writes:
I watch John Beck's commercial for over a year and it got me totally intrested in Real Estate. I purchased the package for the $39.95. Received it; after reading the introductory letter; I was encouraged to call to attend his seminar in Las Vegas because it get fall pretty fast. We did, (my wife and I). Being very excited about being financially independent we talked into $15,000.00 after they found out about balances and credit limits of both our credit cards. For this amount we got the same another package which included the same CDs, forms that could be found online, a 10/30 minutes coaching section and entrance to the seminar. We found out at the seminar that this program didn't have a fixed price. By talking to other attendees, it was learned that each one of us pay a differend price base on our credit limit and availability. The seminar was useless as well as the coaching section. To make a long story short, we have tried to contact John Beck by mail, email and through my Coach Matthew Palmer but have gotten not response. We just want our momey back, if he wants to take out any fee for attending his seminar, that will be fair on our part. But this product and his commercial is a total scam. It there is a class action lawsuit out there, please count us in. Base on the amount of complaints on this site and others I have come accross, we can all put a stop to this man. He is ripping-off us poor folks who are trying to make a living. Thank you for this site and I really hope we all can do something about this. Thanks

My husband bought the mentor program. I didn't feel good about it so 71hrs later we canceled. You can't do that you must first talk to the resolution dept. The guy called today and completely harrassed me. I said we would like to cancel he said Why? I told him we could'nt afford it. I just wanted to cancel. I must have said it 20 times. At one point the man tried to trick me then accused me of not loving my husband. He also let me know that it was no wonder $8,500. was a lot of money to me with my poor decision making. Cancelling was the best decision ever. Hopefully they credit my card back.

I ordered the john beck system a few days ago for 39.95 and was charged $120.00. I tried calling the "customer service" but no response... yet. SCAM!!

11/27/2007 - Frank writes:
I was told I would get 3 days to review the products for the real estate investing product before they charged a few thousand dollars to my credit card. They lied. The day the materials arrived my card was already charged. When I called to cancel, I was told I would get something in the mail to get a refund. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I saw no reason they couldn't just charge the money back. The incredibly rude supervisor let me know the recorded conversation where I explicitly and repeatedly had the salesperson confirm that I would get the 3 days to review the materials befor ebeing charged was not kept. How convenient. I did badger her into sending the "contract" for the refund via overnight FedEx (we'll see if that happens). The materials seem OK, nothing ground-breaking. I am sure the mentors can be helpful, but why would I want to do business with people who lie and charge thousands of dollars for something that you haven't had a chance to take a good look at? According to other people here, they charge according to what kind of limit you have on your card. If that isn't a scam, what is?

3 WORDS----Bait-And-Switch!!!!! Buyers beware! If it is to good to be true it prob. is! Aside from the $39 they helped me review my current credit card debt situation and gave me some very good advice for reducing my debt and move money around to lower my interest rates, etc. This was VERY HELPFUL. I felt as if they were going above and beyond with all the help and advise they were giving me. However.......The whole reason they were trying to help me get all of that straight was so they could ask me for more money later. $9500!!!! for coaching fees and such. They wanted and expected me to pay them that much money after one phone call. When I told him that I would not he almost hung up the phone on me. The guy on the phone was the pushiest salesman I have ever dealt with. Bottom line, if they wanted to sell me coaching services for Thousands of Dollars after the sale they should have told me that to begin with!!So to be fair, I don't really know if this system works or not but if this is how they opperate then it must be a complete scam!!! Why else would they give you VERY limited info on what they do and how they do it and then ask you to make a HUGE investment based on one phone call. PS The credit info that you give them will be used to determine what they will ask for coaching services. Be limited what you disclose.

i bought the package and paid 6000 for mentoring lessons the lessons were a conversation for 30 minutes for several weeks then i was told to go to the county property sales to bid on property there wasnt anything under 20,000 dollars. then I was told to go to the property vault and there wasnt any property for sale anytime i checked it out all i was told was to wait until the vault fills up with new properties i didnt know what i was doing and bought $20,000 of swamp land its been over two years and i still cant sell it over $26,000 dollars over five trips to the auction and i never saw the prices he advertises on television i am disabled and live on a fix income and to top it off the mentor wanted me to invest money with him on the side and dont tell anyone i am sorry i paid $6,000 to be told to go to the local auction. be smarter than me this program isnt for public advertisement im embarassed about my dealings with john beck course
