One thing I have NOT noticed in all these complaints is the one major drawback of buying properties at tax sales. They NEVER tell you that after you buy the NOTE (which is the cost of the taxes owed), the owner of the house has 2 years to repay the back taxes to YOU plus interest. The infomercial says that as soon as you buy the property you can do whatever you want with it, which is true. What they neglect to tell you is that when you are at the tax sale, you are only buying a note on the back taxes owed. You don't actually own the property until after the 2 year (at least in Florida) owner repayment period has passed. So, besides all the isues with pushy sales for ridiculous amounts for mentoring and information which can be obtained EASILY from your local county's website, you have to wait 2 years to actually be able to do anything with the property whose tax note you bought. I spoke with a representative of the Hillsborough County Tax Assessors Office and he said that almost every tax sale attendee is making their money by buying a LOT of tax sale notes and getting the interest and that an owner not paying the back taxes within the 2 years is as likely as getting struck by lightning. So read all the other complaints, but make sure THIS ONE is the one that ENSURES you NEVER purchase John Beck's ridiculous product. Peace!

I just read the defenses to this "program." What struck me was(a) there are only 2 pages of defenses as of April 26, 2008, but 33 pages of complaints, and (b) most of the defenders don't claim to have actually made money with the system, they are just saying they had no problem getting a refund. This morning I spoke with a John Beck representative (as a favor to a friend who had purchased the materials). After listening to the standard sales pitch ("we only want serious people who are ready to start making money right away," etc.), I asked her whether the company is licensed or registered with any agency. She became extremely defensive and was practically yelling at me. I said "that tells me all I need to know" and hung up. I knew this was a scam even before I googled John Beck and found all these complaints. I'm now going to try to get my friend's money back for him.

We thought like everyone else we would try to just get ahead. We should have known by just the phone call that this was crap, buy this upgrade to that. I just want my money back. We know where he gets his money.. Now we need to get our chunk of money out of his ass. We are just starting our fight to get our money back and after reading all this I'm sure it will be one long fight. Wish us luck. I'm sure I will be back to this web site again.

I saw this on TV and thought it sounded good so I called and after reciving the first pack, I did not like it, the links were dead ends. I called them to cancel and make sure that no othe charges were made to my credit card. They assured me that it was taken care of. I have had to extra charges of $39.95 for reciving absolutly nothing, the bank called and asked if I had authorized this transaction I said no, so the card got cancels and I will be getting a new card but lost the second charge of $39.95. This is all lies dont buy this product, it will only empty your pockets.
I have spent many hours reading the postings posted on this site. I can tell you when I first found this site it was the day I returned the John Beck system. Like many of you I saw the info on T.V. I thought long and hard for 4 months before I bought the system. I bought the system not expecting alot and with the idea "what am I losing I can send it back and get my money back less shipping." When I got the system a week and a half later I was shocked thinking "this is it?" So trying to go in to it with an open mind I opened up the quick start DVD. I was pretty much laughing to myself thinking my nine year old daughter could have produced a clearer DVD. I thought it was very poor quality. I then started going through the CD-roms which like all of you found nothing but dead links and learned through his own words that pretty much in New York the system will not work! I looked in the property vault that was suppose to be a wealth of info. When I looked at it there was not a single property even close to where I live and really no info on any property. So if you were going to do your homework how would you look at the house figure out where it is? You could'nt. The other thing that freaked me out was when I first signed on it had me logged in under someone elses name with address and phone number. I thought to myself that is pretty scarey if that is how they throw around our personal info. Well, I did email them and got a number to cancel the property vault and send the system back. They have answered all my emails and it has been two weeks and I did get my 49.95 back. It's a lesson learned I know there is no way of making quick cash and did not expect that. But, you cannot by any property in New York for a couple of hundred. According to the program NY buys them first then sells them to you with a very big mark up. I did cancel my account just in case they did try to take money out. All I can say is people don't give up hope trying to get your money back. I realize that people have invested thousands and I wish you luck and my prayers are with you.
Jason

I ordered just the book over the phone, talking to an automated system. There was no way to get a real person on the line. I declined all their products and services except the book. I then received an E mail saying that I was signed up for their "vault". I tried to E mail them back, but guess what - the email address was not a valid one. The message bounced back to me. I finally got a real person on the line and he said that he would cancel everything but the book. Now over a month later, I received a call from a "personal advisor" who says that I am signed up for the "vault", and that she can't cancel it for me. I called the # she gave me & once again, it is automated. The "book" is a thin pamphlet for which you pay $50 that tells you absolutely nothing that you don't already know. This absolutely is a scam. Don't fall for it.

I would first off like to say that I have not tried this product, however, I have done a lot of research on the tax liens and foreclosures and its possible to make money from them! I would just like to say however that there are many sites, some government funded and operated sites, that will allow you to do the exact same as what this offers only without a false hope of buying real estate for "pennies on the dollar", which you really can only it come out more in that ratio instead of purchasing a $200k piece of real estate for only $300 that truly is simply unrealistic. However I believe some of the postings below me have said that you can also go to your court house and give you the same information, which is also true. My mother has worked in a related field as a Loan Officer and must do lien searches on every client and with her experience of a little over 30 years I can't help but take her word on it that, you can probably luck up on some properties but the majority of the time even if you do buy it for pennies on the dollar it still doesn't leave you exempt from some of the other deliquescent costs! So if you have not tried this product out I would suggest checking out the other sites that paint this investing process in a little more realistic light! Hope that helps!

I mistakenly ordered the course hoping for the results they guarantee on t.v. when i received the course it was just well nothing. He basically has one idea that he beats into the ground. then he started charging me for 39.95 for the property vault that I never signed up for and as a matter of fact declined when they offered it to me when i ordered the course. i never went online with them at all. now my bank is giving me a hard time about these charges. it may not be much money to some but is alot to me. When checks bounce because he has charged me then that is outrageous.

Oh my goodness, I am so happy to have found this site and anyone out there who has information on how to get rid of these people - please share the secret.
We too ordered and after ordering I "heard" of these exact things found here. So when we received it we wrote return to sender and emailed customer service to cancel the order and thought we were done. NO ! I've since received numerous calls from different offices and each time I ask "Why are you still calling?" "Take me off your list" "I've cancelled, Go Away!" Thank goodness I did not subscribe to the vault either. I am so done with these people! It is a HUGE scam and a waste of money ! Not to mention the huge bother !

just saw this commercail in TV , and read some stories here , all i have to say is- ...come on people , would you just save yourselves time and money ? ...just think , if it would be so easy to buy the house for like $200 or $2000 and sell it for 100K or 200K , everybody would be rich and it would be no property available first of all , and other thing is why would John Beck need to sell some kind of whatever manual of cd's for $39 , if he could just follow his own "program" and make hundreds or thousands quickly....hmmmmm.....just think a little and then think again!

I worked for a Foreclosure Firm for over 6 years. This product is a scam!!! Look carefully into your local county rules and run a Title Search on the property before you purchase a property at a Tax Sale. Also make sure that there aren't any existing unpaid Mortgages on the property. Many people do not know that if you purchase a property through tax sale and there is an existing unpaid mortgage on the property you will become the new record owner and a Mortgage Foreclosure action can be brought as you as the new record owner and the property can be sold at a sheriff's sale.

ATTENTION CANADIANS!!! Do not fall for this get rich quick scheme. I ordered from the internet which saved me the trouble of having to talk to an operator. After receiving the course, I decided to return it. The returns operator gave me my return code with I had to indicate on a form, and my credit card was reimbursed less shipping. All was well...then the phone calls started. These freak'n people just don't get it. How many times do you have to tell someone that you were not interested and that it was returned? Well aparently 7 times in 4 months is not enough. From someone wanting to mentor me on my way to financial freedom, to people wanting to know how successful I was and useing me as an example for others to receive encouragement from. LEAVE ME ALONE!!! Thank God i did not access the stupid property vault. I can just imagine what kind of crap I would be dealing with. When will it end??

WE PURCHASED THIS PRODUCT OFF OF T.V. THEN WE SIGNED UP WITH THE MENTORING PROGRAM WHICH WAS A BIG MISTAKE. WE WERE TOOK TO THE CLEANERS TO THE TUNE OF $1660.00
AFTER REPEATED PHONE CALLS WE HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED A REFUND. I TOLD THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT WE WERE LIED TO AND THAT WE WERE COAXED INTO GIVING OUR VISA INFO. WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD NOT REQUIRE ANY MORE THAN 30 MINUTES A DAY TO DO THE REQUIRED THINGS IN THE PROGRAM. WE TOLD THE GUY THAT I WORKED ANY WHERE FROM 50-80 HOURS AND MY WIFE WORKED 60 HOURS AND THAT WE DID NOT HAVE ANY TIME. NEITHER OF US WERE HOME ON WEEKDAYS THAT IS REQUIRED TO DO THE PROGRAM.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE THIS PROGRAM AND BE SCAMMED LIKE WE WERE.
THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT THINK TWICE ABOUT IT.

JOHN
LOUISIANA

Unfortunately, my unsuspecting husband ordered John Beck's Free and Clear program for $39.95, etc. and ended up with the John Beck Company placing an unauthorized charge of $15,000.00 on his credit card. My husband's story echos the many experiences and complaints others on this website have had with the John Beck Co. The one exception is that due to the extreme stress and angst over the whole trying experience, my husband who already had a heart condition, became extremely ill and ended up in the hospital for over a month. While my husband was in the hospital, I was left to deal with the credit card company and the John Beck Company to get his money refunded. Fortunately, after sending many certified letters the credit card company reversed the charges. I believe I was only successful in obtaining a full refund because as slick as the John Beck Representative was he billed $15,000.00 to a credit card that only had a $10,000.00 limit! The credit card company became very cooperative when I started questioning THEM as to why they would accept a charge that was over the credit card limit and not notify us. I also used printouts from a website such as this to show the credit card company that John Beck is a fraud. This all transpired last summer, but I promised myself when things were finally resolved I would share my experience in hopes of saving someone else the grief and worry that I went through.

WOW!! I cant believe this! I just found this website and found all of these complaints. While I was reading I found myself saying alot of the same things everyone else is saying! I bought the "system" last summer. I have not bought any properties with the system but like everyone else no one knew what they were talking about customer service, I was going to attend a sale but I never could get anyone who knew what I was talking about with the number they gave you to call. Just a few months ago I got a call from a Lisa who wanted my wife and I get a "coach" as well but never would tell how much a coach would cost. We never did it and now I'm glad we didn't. I feel lucky only losing the $40 along with S&H. We tried the vault I was like FREE LISTS MY BUTT!
