I bought into this scam too. I got the $39,95 tv order and then they called to get me to do the schooling. They told me that the schooling would be guaranteed if I did not make a purchase by the time it was over that I would be getting it back. I said what the heck I would get the almost $5000 back no matter what. If I wasn't happy with what I was doing I could complain to them. Which I was doing. When they were going to get on to record me he said to say no that I was not guaranteed to get any money by sale. This was tuition, this was different. So I was dumb enough to say no, I should have said but I will get my tuiition back. I was going to right that on the contract they were sending me if it was not on it. Which I did, and sent back to them. But no mention of it when I brought it up. I reported them to the better business bureau but did not get any where. I was not happy. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! RUN LIKE CRAZY! THEY WANT YOUR MONEY! AND YOU GET THE SHAFT!

I have call block on my phone so that no one can see my phone number. I originally ordered the Free and Clear system after seeing a Television ad. I NEVER gave my phone to them during the phone call. I always give my cell number. I received a worthless package in the mail and asked for a refund, which they promptly gave me.
They obviously sell a junk product so they can harvest names and addresses and phone numbers and sell them. And also so they can start calling you with sales calls to sell you more crap. (read on)
However, during my first call to order the product, they must have been using some sort of illegal machine to harvest my phone number because they should have never had my home phone.
This morning, they started making sales calls to my home phone number beginning early in the morning Alaska time.
How could they get my phone number when I never gave it to them, and the phone company has my number blocked?
They must be doing something illegal to harvest phone numbers. Now my phone number will have to be changed because they'll probably sell me to everyone they can.

I filed a complaint with the FTC.

I'm glad I found this site. First I would like to say to everyone who got duped. That I'm sorry. Second I would like to say check out this website to the BBB. I would also like to reply in general to some defenders of the John Beck program. I have watched his infomercial a bunch of times and from the information that it provides compared with the complaints on here, they are definitely misrepresenting what they are selling. Whether it works or not...well it may. But they are making this program sound like something that the average person can do. Well, guess what? The average person cannot afford to go into 1,000's in debt. The average person is not in a situation to get involved in high risk investments. One defender of the program said that the complaints are from people who want something for nothing. I think that's disgusting. Most of these people are probably just average working Americans who were going out on a limb to try and better their lives. They were probably also desperate to some degree financially. I think it is terrible to judge people that way. Shame on you!

I watched this infomercial for the first time on NBC tonight, and I was so outraged that something so blatantly phony could be aired on a "reputable" network that I googled John Beck's name and product and came across this website. There has got to be a way to get him off the air--and in jail, where he belongs--I would like to know what I can do.

Dear All,
I have read with a breaking heart, your stories. Your blog saved my husband and me $15,000. Yes that's right. They were going to charge us $15,000 for their 'Mentoring' program.
I was lucky, I had a gut instinct while talking to these bs artists last night on the phone. When I told the rep, my husband and I wanted to discuss it before deciding, he turned on the full court press. We held our ground which gave me enough time to do some research. We did not sign up.
I want to tell you how to go after these guys. The Federal Trade Commission, has this organization on it's radar. They know about them and need your complaints in order to really shut this scam down.
I've had personal experience with the FTC in the past and they are like pit bulls when going after orgaanizations like this.
Go to their website and go to the file a complaint screen. Believe me, the FTC will act. It takes a little while to get through the process, however, they were able to recover money in my case.
If you have been a victim of these people, work together and get to the FTC and your state's Attorney's General.
We can shut this down.
Good luck to all.
I too tried this product for $39.95. Most of the links were dead links, and I got nothing out of it, so I sent it back. I still have not received a credit and it's been a month! And just yesterday I received a call from a guy saying that they would like to interview me to see if I am eligible for a mentoring program through John Beck's Free and Clear. They asked me my limit on my credit card, but I figured that was to see how much I could spend on houses. Then he said, my total charge(that I would get back after buying and selling 8 houses)would be $6,499. And for some reason, that sounded alright to me. I guess because they said they've been in business for 20 years, and that if they were scammers, they wouldn't still be in business. So after being smooth-talked for 1 1/2 hours, I decided to go with it, since they said I could cancel after 3 days of receiving information in the mail. Then I stumbled across this website. So I immediately canceled my credit card and the charges will be taken off. The bank is going to send me a new credit card with a new number. Now all I have to do is get those people to stop calling me! Do not buy this product! Don't even listen to it on tv! You don't want to get any false hopes like I did!

I saw it on tv and me and my mija said, "oh this imfomercial is great". I called and a gentleman walked us through the purchase, and later I said neverminds. That guy wanted us to pay him like three grand or something. I'm glad I didn't buy anything, and you shouldn't either. John Beck is a crook.

I recently purchased this program from the televsion.I originally got on the computer today to look at the property vault, and ran into this link... i will stop my membership right away. it has only been a couple of weeks, and it's true... they've been calling me from credit information for a "mentor" program. thank you all so much for stopping me from making a HUGE financial mistake.

take care and god bless,
ally, CO

So, those of you who only bought the product and are upset about 39.95, consider yourself lucky. My husband and I listened to the whole story after buying about paying for "training". I told them up front, I DID NOT want to be talking to indivisuals but work through the counties. They told me I would be trained to do just that. So, I start with my "coach". HORRIBLE!!!!! He was reading of cue cards and couldn't answer any question that deviated from his list. I called furious after a few sessions and they started me over with a new coach. He was knowledgable but guess what, the main way you make money with theire program is to swoop in on people before the county takes there home and offer them a pathetic amount of money to quick claim deed the house. The one thing I told them I did not want to do is how they do it. If any of you reading this were smarter than the rest of us for researching DO NOT BUY INTO THIS!!!!!! I cannot stress that enough. You do not get anything worth your money. Keep it and find something else. As my dad always said, if it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is. There is a reason that is said.

Last november my girlfriend and I purchased the $39.99 start up kit from John Beck Free and Clear. When we received the information there was a flyer that said "Call with in 3 days to get started" - we did. Spoke to a "Start up specialist" who determined we were indeed motivated enough to join the winning team. after a small fee of only $1200.00 which we were lucky enough to get at a discounted rate because it was near the holidays, we were promised personal coaching, handholding through our first real estate deal, Access to John Becks property vault with thousands of properties we could buy immediatly, and all the support we needed. Well - what we got wa an hour and a half of coaching on how to write letters to scheme people out of their properties, no returned phone calls from their coaching hotline, hung up on by customer service when I dared called in to complain that we were not getting what we were sold (we kept very in depth notes of every phone call), and get this - I get called about once a month from John Becks employees telling me they see I purchased the $39.99 package and want to now if I am interested in joining the success team - we are on a list of those not yet signed up. When I kindly tell them this story the answer is the same - "This works, we are not a scam - let me talk to a director and get this figured out and we will call you back with a resolution" - of course I dont hear back untill the next monthly call asking me if I want to join the success team. - John Beck got our $1200.00 dollars free and clear - so I guess it does work for somebody.

Sent them several emails saying I did not sign up for $39.95 a month and continued to charge me after they said they would not. I have an email from them but still continue to charge me. They owe me for May 2007 - January 2008. A total of $359.55.

First of all, I thought this sound like a good idea, I ordered the Free & Clear product, they kept me on the phone trying to sell me a lot of items that I was not interested in and I just hung up on the people. The product came and I followed the instructions, tried the websites in my state, nothing worked tried to cancel, not possible. This is a scam...What must I do? I'm disable and I don't have money to waste. How can I retrive my money($62.00 and change)?
Sign Very Disappointed in Mr. John Beck's misleading infromercial. Someone should notify FCC.

I live in Eugene, Oregon which is in Lane County. All tax lien sales are typically done by the county.
I did a search on tax lien sales in Lane County and Volia! Lane County provides a list free of charge of all properties they have in their inventory.
They also mentioned that they only have a sale about once per year. The properties usually are just land and are only small pieces not big enough to build on or without access.
They also stated that if they do receive a property with a house on it they normally donate it to a county agency or a non-profit agency to use as group housing or offices.
