I bought Lint B Gone hoping to clean the lint from my dryer. However, I ended up spending $7.95 for the product and $450.00 on a NEW DRYER. This product does not work and is hazardous. Instead of clearing the lint from the dryer it becomes compacted resulting in what could be a hazardous fire. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

I sent for the Lint B Gone on their "official" web site. It says pay $10 for 2 sets of brushes and $7.95 processing and handling. I filled out the form and used my Mastercard. I must not have paid attention to what the charge really was, which was $37.86. I looked back at my confirmation and see no mention of a charge. Stupid me. I just received my bank statement and saw the "real" charge. Lucky for me there was a phone number listed, which you cannot find on the web site. I phoned and talked with a gal who doesn't usually deal with the lint brushes I was told. But she said she'd give me $5 off - I said no way. I want a refund. When I received the brushes there was no packing slip, so she is sending me an invoice, that I will use to return the Lint B Gone. What a scam. I'll be watching for my credit - stay tuned! I sure wish I had checked out this site before ordering. Live and Learn.

I went online to order lint b gone decided I didn't want it after being asked lenghthy questions about purchasing other products I didn't want. When checking my bank statement on 9/12/2007 I was charged $25.90 for a purchase I declined. L.

I was watching the commercial advertising the lint-b-gone. I called the number and they took down my credit card information after which they continued to go on about other products they had to offer. After several minutes 20 or more I pushed no to all other offers they had. I ok'd my order of the lint-b-gone but after a few weeks never received my product but noticed on my credit statement that there were charges for "fortune builders" and "easy saver" both of which I had never heard of. I called the numbers on my statement and was told that I had ordered a product and these were optional products that were offered along with it. The only product I had ordered was the lint-b-gone. These were without my authorization added to my card through this so called special lint-b-gone phone order. I was fortunate enough to have had them reverse the charges on my account and refunded. I feel lucky to have caught this. I don't always look at my statements right away but just happened to have this time and will from here on out. Please be careful when ordering any product like this. The elderly who don't have the internet or know of such scams are the ones I am certain are paying the price for something that is by far being not worth the price especially the shipping and handling scam that goes along with it. Put a stop to this type of robbery, theft or whatever you would like to call it. Respectfully submitted Tammy

My story is the same as all the others here. I would like to know if the Credit Card company can actually handle the outrageous charge for this useless product? What do they do and do you actually get a refund? I would love to hear from any of you who did contact their credit card company. It is Sunday and my bank is closed. Gloria

The lint-b-gone was $10.00 plus $7.95 for shipping and handling for not one but two. They came for a total of $24.95. They charged $7.95 shipping for each product in the same box.

I ordered Lint-B-Gone over the internet at [] The ad said 2 sets of brushes for $10 plus shipping and handling, but the charge for shipping and handling is not given. I was offered an upgrade to a larger size for $2.50. But was that per set, per brush, or what? It didn't say. What bothered me the most was it did not give a total amount before submitting the order. That came a day later by e-mail which showed "1 payment per unit of $21.96" which then repeated again the amount of $21.96 followed by $15.90. So how much was the total? It did not say. I called them and was given another number to call which was (866)304-4252. The fellow who answered said the total was $37.86. I asked how this was arrived at. He could not say. I asked for his supervisor as I expressed questions about their arrival at this amount. He was very reluctant. I told him the way they were operating could be grounds for a class-action law suit. He became very nervous. Finally, he said he would connect me. The phone rang and rang. No answer. Also, he did not identify himself nor his supervisor. I am going to watch my credit card account carefully. Because this is a nationwide, I hope a lawyer and/or State Attorney General official is reading this site as after reading the experiences of others I think that there are grounds for some sort of action.

My story reads the same as all of the stories below. I'm so angry over this mess. I too am paying 2x what i agreed to pay. no recepit came with my order, no conformation when i ordered, nothing. i too had to listen to a dozen "wonderful" extra offers AFTER i gave my card info. THIS IS A SCAM!!! i'm also in the process of disputing this...

I ordered the Lint B Gone to help clear out the lint in my aging dryer. The item was advertised for $10. on the TV infomerical. I expected the shipping charges to be high and was prepared to pay it. I agreed to pay the additional charge or $ 7.95 which should have brought my total to be $ 17.95. I was asked to enter a certain no. on my phone pad to identify the order I'd made. After I did so, a succession of 'other offers' were spelled out that continued for 15-20 minutes until I was able to get off the phone. As I was forced to listen to the 'multiple continuing offers', I felt I had made an error in ordering the lint brush. I felt as though someone had manipulated me using 'fast talking' words to 'convience' to purchase more than I wanted. Since I check my bank account balance daily, I noted that the charge of $ 37.86 was double what I had intended to pay. I called my credit card co. and had the charge removed since it was 'pending' on my account. The charge re-apppeared a few days later when I was informed by the credit card co. that I could not file a formal complaint until 30 days after the order was placed. I feel violated and plan to continue to pursue this issue with the company and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of MS.

Just got off the phone with Customer service for Lint Be Gone. I manage my accounts pretty closely and discovered instead of the $9.95 original price plus $7.95 for shipping and handling, they subtracted $35.90 from my account. When I spoke to customer service, she said, she doesn't know how these things happen and if I wanted to return the product they would credit the amount (minus the shipping & handling) back to my account and in the meantime, she would be happy to take another (re-order). What do they think I'm nuts. I too am also reporting this to bbb.

i am not happy at all. I believe they know full well that you don't realize that you will be charge almost $8.00 a piece for shipping and handling. I called customer service and asked why i was chareged so much. for two items that should have been only maybe 21 or 22 bucks.they said shipping and handling charges. I said ok I want to return the product they said no problem, but you won't get the shipping and handlling charges back. so get this, if i return the product i don't get my $7.95 (plusthe one that was suppose to be free... they charge shipping and handleing for that also. total $15.95. so if i want to send it back that's probaly going to be another $10.00. so out of the $31.85 i spent i will get back nothing. why because i will be spending the $10.00 to send it back. I am letting the people that i know do not buy this product it is a scam. plus you are on the phone for 20 mins trying to order the product. if you are not careful you will order something else. i don't mind paying for any item that works, but i do not like the idea of companies mis-leading other people. my advice do not buy this product. and i am still going to complain to the bbb.

All of this sounds so familiar. My husband ordered the Lint B Gone. We were charged over $40! If you want to call 6-8 weeks express delivery, go ahead! ALSO, apparently my husband agreed to some other "offers" while on the phone with these people for 20 minutes. I monitor my bank account pretty closely - thank goodness. We have been charged for all kinds of 'stuff', all stemming from the Lint B Gone order. I called, cancelled all the 'memberships' but doubt they will credit my account. Be on the look out for charges from UMG My Advisor or UMG Buyers Edge. UMG is also a HUGE scammer.

I am canceling my order for lint be gone today, and I hope it goes smoother than the order. (you can never talk to a person) You are forced to get 2 sets (one free) NOT FREE you pay the outragious shipping and handling fee. So your one set that you want is about $30.00. And your on the phone forever. I called cust. service to cancel and I have to wait so many days to do that. You should not order this product. Wait till it is in stores and you can by one to try.

Same as everybody else. I ordered the Lint B Gone for $10 plus shipping and agreed to "upgrade". I got an e-mail after that confirming my order, the total $59.79!!!!. I sent them an e-mail right away, got a response and they told me to contact the customer service by phone. Of course I tried contacting the customer service, no luck. The next Monday I tried again(they're not open on the weekends), before talking to a customer service representative I checked the status of my order. It said "still being processed, it will leave the warehouse in 48 hours". I thought that was good. When I spoke to the Customer service representative she told me my order was already sent and there was nothing she can do. I explained I checked the status of my order but she was so unhelpful and actually very rude. I got the order a couple of days ago and I don't know what to do with it, I didn't even open the box, but I don't want to return it to only get the refund for the product and not the shipping. I am trying to call them but every time I try to talk to a representative the call gets disconnected!!!!, this is just ridiculous, I wish I read this page before!

Typical rip-off. I was supposed to charged $15.90 but was charged $25.90 instead. I have a confirmation e-mail but was told that "it was an automated e-mail and was a mistake. We don't sell individual brushes." I guess I got a really lesson for only $10.

7/5/2007 - Marianne writes:
I also got ripped-off with the shipping. After I received the brushes and saw what I paid almost 40.00 for I sent it back. They are garbage. Then I got the credit on my credit card account. I couldn't believe the $15.90 shipping cost. It only cost me 6.55 to send back and that was to track it. Who do we complain to? I'll file a complaint with the BBB. Does it help. What else can be done? I also called the company and told the girl that I would never order anything again and I would tell everyone I know. I'm going to try the Post Office too.

I ordered one of the Lint B Gone brush set's for $10.00 and got one set free for ordering Plus postage...The Guy ask if I wanted the deluxe model for couple dollars more...Still you paid for one deluxe and got one free and with postage would have been $25.00..I got my credit card billing and was charged $43.81. I called 866-3044252 and talked to a girl about this..she tells me that the deluxe model was more ..Couldn't understand her at all, she was some foreign gal and spoke not too good English. I got suckered once but never again, will I bite for something like this...This is a real Scam and should not be allowed to be on national T.V. Selling. I got no invoice so don't know what I paid for the brushes or postage either.

I too was outraged at the high shipping charges which are not mentioned when placing the order. No final amount is given on what will be charged until you see your charge statement. I did file a complaint through the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut on line. Did not get any results as Lint Be Gone said they would refund the $10 and not the $15.90 for shipping. MOre people need to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as this is highway robbery. I will never ever buy anything on TV again after this ripoff.

When I saw how much was being charged for shipping & handling of the Lint B Gone brushes I decided to not place the order. Of course it isn't possible to not submit the order. The order is placed as soon as one goes to the second screen. I wasn't aware that the order had been placed until I received the flimsy package. I marked the package "refused-return tosender" and took it to the post office. When I received my credit card bill, I was surprised to find I had been billed $25.90. It's hard to imagine that the shipping & handlilng was $15.90. I contacted my credit card company and protested the charge. Later, I found a credit for $10.00 on the following credit card statement. It looks as though I'll still be charged for shipping & handling. But I'm still trying to get the charge removed from my credid card. This is a clear case of fraud, but I can't find out who to complain to.
