My father bought this product and is completely unhappy. We are always telling him to turn the tv down, because his hearing isn't as good as it used to be he turns it way up. Well, he bought this thinking it would help. He said all it does is amplify all the sounds around him and he can't hear the tv unless he sits up close to it. He feels like if he has to sit that close for the Sound Amplifier to work, why bother? I agree, what a rip off!

I tried it also. Aside from hearing all the background noise I got tons of squeeling feedback. Surprised I don't see that comment anywhere on this forum. I felt as if I kept using it, it would cause a hearing impairment.

I order this online and when I ordered I realized there was 2 and I did call and they cancelled it..I think it was the next day..I did buy one at [] and it is just junk.

I agree with all the comments and wish this board had been out sooner. The website is rigged so you have to buy two at a time. I never received any confirmation email, so I ended up ordering a second time. I couldn't cancel the second order because by the time I received the first order, my second was already shipped. I guess they really can speed up the shipping process when you reorder by mistake. They said that any returns could not be refunded without paperwork, but I never received any paperwork with my devices, so how can I return it with the shipment. The one unit had no volume and the rest of the units make too much noise when touched. I am very upset with this company and hope someone will close them down soon. I can't do anything through the Credit Card company because I used a debit card. All I wanted was to find something to help my mom hear better, because her ears are too sensitive for a hearing aid.

SCAM SCAM SCAM. I ordered one and they said I ordered two. I called to cancel the order and he told me to call back tomorrow as it takes 24-48hrs to show up ion the computer. I called at 9am (approx. 20 hrs later) and they told me it was already shipped. When I phoned I caught "Gabby" the phone receptionist in a couple lies. I phoned the credit card company to cancel my order but they said they can't really do very much. Well I guess they won for now. Well the only positive thing about this situation is I learned a valuable lesson and that is to always research before you buy. In summation I'm $50 poorer but a whole lot smarter.

I just got this device in the mail! It is a piece of junk. I have not gotten my credit card bill yet. Can't somebody stop these people before others are scammed?

I certainly ought to learn to investigate every Company that offers products that end up not working. I found out just like others from this site that you just can't trust these certain products that make unbelievable claims. I'm cancelling this order when I get my credit card statement. They did to me just what these other people said. Some people have no conscience.

As stated by the other writers this item does not work. We bought the items for watching TV at night without disturbing our daughter. The sound from our family room travels up to the bedrooms. We thought this would solve our problems but were wrong. You can hear the TV better without it. I recived 2 of these items and they both are useless. They seem to amplify everything but the TV. All you hear is noise and static.

Recieved a "Listen Up" unit in the mail yesterday. It is totally useless. Recieved two more in the mail today -- unordered. There phone order as well as their on-line ordering form attempts defaults that lead to two unit ordering. I bailed out on the on-line ordering when I saw that they claimed I was ordering two when I had not done so. I simply did not complete the transaction. I then ordered by phone, their automated menu is so set up that you have to be very careful not to get sucked into ordering two. I was very careful . . . still. I assume that I was successful with my telephone care -- on the single one I received. I know, I did not continue with the on-line order when I saw their claim that I was ordering two. Yet I recieved two additional in today's mail. I ran across your site, looking, in vain, so far, for contact information to make a complaint to them.

I just ordered after hearing my friend say that his wife likes the product. However, we both had the same problem - they charged us for two units when we only ordered one. VERY DESEPTIVE! BEWARE!

I purchased two of them and this is a scam. You have to put it somewhere without any other noise interference. I don't see how the guy in the commercial can hold it and hear the TV, because when I did it, it would pick up my finger movements. When I placed it on the chair I could hear my wife in the kitchen, more then the TV. On top of that they charged me like $20 for each piece for shipping and handling AND they shipped them together. When I called to complain they said that they would not refund the shipping and handling, only the charge of the actual units. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

This product sucks! As previous posters said, it simply does not work! You can hear better without the device. I tested it out with my wife and she could hear me better in the other room with her own 2 ears. When the device is on, all other noises interfere (such as a tv). In short, I can hear better without this thing. DO NOT buy this..it absolutely does not work.

It is a cheap shot that they make it impossible to order just one on their website. Then my friend got one, and it turns out the product is a cheap hunk of easily breakable plastic that probably has been urinated on in sixteen slums across the United States. Hear a pin drop? Only if a pin drop sounds like an aircraft carrier exploding because that's the only amplified sound it's capable of emitting. Throw this away as soon as it arrives, or else start searching for their company heads.

Like others that have reported,, Order Form very bad - get double charged if you don't complain. Be sure to check order with site right after completion. The device is very POOR. 10' from TV, volume low, I can hear better without amplifier. Amp picks up every movement / russet / touch of the unit and does little to aid in hearing. It is FAR from the quality they lead you to believe on TV. Reminds me of the tin can(s) and string between, days. Best part of the deal = now have a AAA battery.

A TV commercial for "Listen Up Personal Sound Amplier" for $14.95 was "received and being processed" for $37.96. (Item $24.98, Shipping $12.98!) The promise "You will be receiving a confirmation by email at <a href="mailto:Afetler@gmail.com">Afetler@gmail.com</a>" has not been received, and the website for "Liste Up" does not respond to confirmation or queries. I will cancel Credit Card charges. Attorneys General for Consumer Protection: Please go after Listen Up Hooligans. -Andrew

I just received a device by mail. I ordered it by telephone, it came in the expected time (4-6 weeks), but it is not a good device. There are echoes, the amplification is poor and garbled, and I want to return it. I was told on the phone that if I wanted to return it, there would be no problem. Yes, there is a problem....they did not give me a return address anywhere in the packaging. I need to know how to send this back for a refund. Can you help?

I just ordered one listen up item online for 14.99 + 6.99 s/h. It came up as 2 with double shipping charge, rather than one, for a total price of $41 something. I was unable to get the order # The phone # 8004853014 states the mailbox is out of service. I will refute this charge on my credit card, the minute it appears. I called another phone # listed for listenup.com. A male answered, claiming he had nothing to do with this mess. I called The NJ # 9738087355. Obviously this mailbox was full. I was unable to leave a messsage. I would appreciate some assistance with this matter. Thank you, Anne W

The website order form for this product is very confusing.Immediately after ordering one item it sends you to a page where you can order additional quantity, and your only choices are 1 or 2 additional devices. There is no "zero" choice, so you have to order two (the one you already ordered plus the one additional). I was charged for two and was unable to go back and change the quantity. I have been charged $43.95 for a $14.99 item on my credit card! I have not received the item yet so I cannot review the item, but I will if I actually receive it.
