My skin was at its worst so I decided to use the Murad products. I actually purchased them from ULTA Beauty Supply...which I HIGHLY recommend. Within one week, my skin was worse and drier than ever, felt like it was going to crack and just very uncomfortable. It felt nothing like what the informercial promised! I returned it to the store, NO questions asked. If you want to try it, they have the same trial pack for the same price as on tv, but with no hassles whatsoever with returning it!

What i can only gather from this whole scenario is that Murad has an excellent marketing team! 2 million starter its sold in the US for what is essentially an awful product! having only very mild spots, i spotted the commercial in america and thought this would be an excellent way of getting rid of the remaining spots for good! boy was i wrong. after day 1 my skin looked okay... day 2 however, my face dried up, red, painful and made me very stressed because i am very much image-conscious. its now day 3 and my face is pretty blotchy, still red and new white heads have begun to appear, it is less dry however but sill bad! im very upset!
how long do you guys reckon this will last?

dont buy this product!

My horror story about Murad's Acnecomplex is a lot like the other posts here. Basically, I saw the infomercial, was stupid enough to try the stuff, and within a couple days my face was covered in pustules and whiteheads. The customer service rep said that was a purging period and to stick with it. I did for a couple more weeks, then sent everything back when it was only getting worse. I am telling the truth and not exaggerating, it took me about 6 months to get my face to calm down after using this product. I had some of the lowest times of self-esteem in my life after using Acnecompex, b/c my face looked like a pizza for SO long afterwards. Please do yourself a favor and AVOID this product.

I have been using murad acne complex for 6 weeks now and my acne is worse than before i started using it. My forehead is breaking out badly and also around my mouth is breaking out really bad. I wanted to believe in murad, but all hope is lost for me. I am not using it anymore as of tonight. As a matter of fact I am going to a dermatoligist tommorow to see what can work for me. I have also used proactiv before the murad which dried my skin out pretty bad, but didnt break me out like murad has. proactiv never did get rid of my acne, but it is better than murad for me. the only thing i liked about murad is that it didnt dry my face out at all. I guess I will try another product. Any suggestions?

The lessons in life we are sometimes forced to learn can sometimes come to us in a roundabout manner...

Like the rest of the testimonials on these pages, I too fell victim to the snakeoil scam that is Murad. Yes, I have suffered the self-same "worse before it gets better stage" that Murad insists is their product "helping" you. However bad the acne is, far worse is the feeling I have from being such a sucker for blindly falling victim to a scam (and what a well orchestrated one, at that).

It hurts me to think that by having done some simple research PRIOR to buying Murad's products, I could have saved myself not only money, but the anguish and frustration that the others on this page describe.

That Murad chooses to advertise on late-night television is no mistake. Their opportunism targets those desperate to better their acne--those who put faith in their product claims--an abuse of trust in those who are already down. These sorts of scams have been around since time immemorial--but it is through Murad's clever and deft use of a slick campaign that I, along with many others were duped.

I have had mild acne most of my adult life, and the in 3 weeks I used Murad, my acne became the worst it has ever been. Stupidly, I initially attributed it to something OTHER than Murad's products. However, yesterday I realized that Murad was the culprit and discontinued use altogether. I called their customer service line and requested an immediate halt of their product being sent to me, as well as returning the remainder of the unused first shipment. I'll have to wait and see if they make good on their claim of 'money back guarantee', but am not holding out hope that they do.

While the acne on my face that using Murad
caused does in fact suck, the real lesson I am taking from this experience is to do diligence on future purchases and to research better the products I buy. In this day and age, I urge you reader, to please do the same.

I too saw this infomercial and was so excited to buy this product right away because I have a very mild case of cne right now. I recently bought Neutragena's acne kit from the drug store and have been using it for a week now. It seems to work well, but on the infamercial, Murad claims that their acne complex kit is so much better for your skin than any other product out there, so I figured it HAD to be pretty damn good. I just sat down to my computer to go straight to the Murad site to order this kit and lucky for me I just happened to come across this site. I am so very glad that I did, because I will absolutely NOT be buying this kit.I have too many medical issues already to be having to deal with more. Anyway,I read all of these MANY complaints and I really think that you ALL should contact each other, get together, and file a civil suit against this company for all of the physical damages and all of the pain and suffering you all have gone through. This at least needs to get to the news media or there will continue to be MANY MORE cases just like these. Thankyou, all of you, for your info. because you probably saved me and many others who come across this site from a horrifying experience. I am so sorry for all of you. Stand up!!! Take my suggestions seriously because there has got to be something you can do. This is a horrible and dangerous medical issue that they are causing and one day, it may go way too far. So please! Stop these people in their tracks. DO NOT let them keep hurting people so badly.I definitely would if I had used the product and had the same thing happen to me. I am honestly shocked at how MANY people have been hurt SO badly from these products. They definitely have proven that they have gone way over the line here. Good luck!!! Hope to see the story on T.V. soon.:)

I too saw the Murad infomercial and thought that it would finally be the cure for my oily, acne-prone skin. Everyone looked so perfect, it had to work! Just like everyone else here my skin (face and neck) broke out worse than in my teens in large painful cysts and dozens of blackheads after just a week of use. Of course when I called they said that it was purging and to keep using the product. I gave it another two weeks, but it got worse and I stopped using it altogether. This was in September 2007. Today I am still trying to get rid of several deep cysts and the remaining scars on my face. I used to be able to leave the house with no makeup. Now I spend at least 20 minutes covering the redness and bumps that remain. Please think twice before buying Murad! I know my skin will NEVER be the same without some type of professional treatment.

Please, Please, Pleeease, consider reading all of the comments written here before buying the product. All negative comments that i read on this site are really TRUE to me. I experienced the same way as they did. I only have mild pimples problem and when I used this Murad Acne Complex (the commercial is really deceiving), I started to have Large and Painful Acnes with Pus and Blood (Nodule & Cyst Type of Acne). I continued using them religiously(following the exact instructions & tips written & not failing even once) for 4 Weeks and nothing good happened. And of course, I didn't want to continue for 2 more weeks! I know what purging is but purging is not like this!Even the old mild pimples I have become even worst! My mild pimples became Large, Painful, Black Acnes with Pus and Blood! Another bad thing happened to me, they automatically sent me the 60-day kit without my confirmation. Another big expense to my part. I returned all intro kit and 60-day kit(which I never used) and hoping to get the refund. Even I'll get the refund, it's not enough to cover the damages on my face they gave me.

Well, I'm not here to bash the Murad Acne Complex because it actually worked for me. Proactiv didn't. So I really think it depends on your skin and if you find something that works don't change it. I also get better results getting facials and using the product together as a skin regimen.

Well my name is Frankie. I got some of the free samples by Murad:/ and tried them only in one part of my face next to my noze. The next two nights i had this enourmous pimple that was red and when you touched it it felt like a hard bump or small tumor. I tried over and over trying to pop it till my skin peeled. Finally five days later i just put a little bit of pressure on it and poom! Out came all this gross puss and stuff. And i thought, what could have done this, i kept using the product and i got more in that area. Finaly i got fed up and used proactive , it is slow and mild. Im so mad at murad! DO NOT USE!!!!!!!!!! it smells horrid.

As Sarah I was also using proactive which did not clear up my skin completely but my acne was fairly under control. Then I saw the Murad infomercial and thought "this might work" it even had that catchy song, I Believe in Miracles playing the background. I tried it and within a few days my skin broke out into huge eruptions, whitehead blackheads everything! It was so embarrassing and Murad called it purging, they actually tell you to keep using the product. So I did, I continued to use the product for 60 days as the guarantee states. It got worse! My friends finally convinced me to stop using the product because they had never seen my skin so bad. I have stopped and my skin went back to "normal" after using another product and spending over $200 on facials, I was left with acne scars to remember Murad forever! They never even gave me my refund because I did not return it within the 60 days of the date it was shipped to me and not received or used. STAY AWAY from Murad, this product is the worst thing I've ever purchased and has left me traumatized. It may work for some people but really it isn’t worth the risk.

I have never had acne in my life but started getting some now, in my early 40s, probably related to perimenopausal changes. I decided to try the Murad products. I used them as directed for just over a week. I had to stop because my face became very dry, irritated (pink), itchy and tight. That was almost a month ago and my skin is still not back to normal. I bought some Eucerin cream and that helped to calm my skin down a lot. Last night I put a low dose benzoyl peroxide on some acne on my chin. At 2am, I woke up with a burning chin that was completely inflamed and bright red. I wasn't able to go back to sleep because I was worried. I've never had this reaction before to benzoyl peroxide and can only assume that my skin is still suffering the effects of the Murad. I've used a lot of products on my face over my lifetime, with the only rare reaction being some pinkness irritation (once). I've NEVER had this kind of reaction to a skin product before which leads me to think that it can't be safe. I've had facial peels at the spa and never had a reaction. Even when used as directed, this stuff made a mess of my face and now I'm dealing with acne AND super sensitive skin. I know that I am not alone after reading all the other posts here and that is some small comfort, however I wish that none of us had to deal with these consequences at all!!!! I'm off to the medical clinic now to have a doctor take a look at my chin and hopefully some prescription level product will be able to help me.

This is the first time I have written a customer review for a product...and unfortunately the results were so bad, that I wanted to inform others. I had been using proactive, which worked fairly well for my acne. After seeing the infomercial for Murad, and that it stated that the results were better than Proactive, I decided to give it a try. I have been using it for about a month now. Over that time, I began to break out with huge puss-filled pimples (the worse acne I have ever had). Thinking that it was the cleansing, or purging period, I continued and waited for it to clear...unfortuneatly it has gotten worse. Now, I am embarresed regarding my complextion. The pimples are so big and tender, that my face hurts. So, please, do not order this product, but try another. I have found that the [] clarifiying mask works pretty good (better than Proactive)and clarifies overall skin tone...but the overall skin care system doesn't.

I started using this product 30 days ago and my face has literally exploded. I have huge cystic acne and horrible scarring with alot of redness. I am so angry, hurt and in a lot pain and I really want to caution anyone intending to use this product to do some research. I have never reviewed a product before but I felt a need to speak out against this product because this face... is no longer mine.. I am scarred for life and I would not wish anyone, not even my worst enemy to go through what I am going through... It hurts so bad to look into the mirror.. it hurts really, really bad.

I have used many, many acne products and none of them ever work. It makes me sad to add Murad to the list. Not only did Murad NOT work, it made my acne horribly worse. I now get acne all along my jawline and cheeks. During what they claimed was the "purging process" I broke out into huge, puss-y zits. Even though I did not pick them, I am left with deep pitted scars that are a wonderful purple color. I have never felt so depressed and embarrassed because of my skin. Thank you Dr. Murad, you ruined my life.

When I first saw the acne complex commercial I was so excited being that I had such a crazy ripp off experience with PROACTIVE!! When I received my first kit I thought I was improving but when the second week rolled around I had terrible bumps that were never there be4 I thought It was purging and I continued to use the product and last week I called it QUITS The more I use the product the worse these big hard bumps get!! I returned one package good thing I kept the containers cause I am returning ALL!

I originally wrote a positive review about this product. I am now writing a complaint. This product burned my skin, caused a dramatic increase in breakouts, and gave me a rash around my mouth. I returned all the products including the free samples... still waiting for my refund. I really wanted to like these products but they didn't work for me. I think the Murad Acne complex is for people with leathery skin and severe acne!!! I'm now using a more reputable product line that I purchased at a department store and I am seeing great improvements. Buyer beware when it comes to these informercial skin care lines!!!

I recently brought Murad and at first it was good. I started using this product the same night I received it. I was breaking out from another product at the time. When my face started clearing up I told myself that I finally found a product that works Murad. Boy was I wrong, at first I didn't mind the one and two acne that started to show up on my face in the morning. Then my forehead started getting these small pus-filled pimples. It got to the point where I was wearing make up to work because it was so bad. My cheeks started to break out also. I only wear make-up if I have a wedding or something big to go to. So I stop using the Murad. The product wasn't for me, I also felt sick from the smell . The product had a awful smell that I couldn't stand.

the worse acne product i have ever used!! i stopped using it one week after received it in the mail. first off..it smells awful, proactiv has a better scent then murad. second..instead of clearing up my skin like it's supposed to do, i ended up getting these big ugly pimples on my face. i sent it back and got my money back. if you wanna clear up your skin, you have a better chance finding something at your local store than wasting your hard earn money on junk like murad.

I purchased the membership for a shipment I believe about every 60 days. I was interested in the product as I am allergic to benzyl peroxide which is contained in the other popular acne product sold on TV. I have very mild acne at times, but it can be annoying for a fair skinned adult especially with the marks that pimples leave. Well let's say it appeared to work for a very short time and then my skin appeared worse than it had ever been before. It was so dissapointing and then I tried to switch up the routine and lets just say that I cancelled my membership.
