My story is the same as everyone here - I hand-picked my food items because there are certain foods I cannot eat, and I received the standard "substitution memo" along with weeks worth of food I cannot eat. After 3 days of horrible gas and nearly gagging from the food, I called CS to cancel my auto-ship. I told "Kevin" that I didn't pay extra to pick out my food to get their substitutions, and he said I could ship it back TO GET WHAT I WANT. Isn't that what I tried to do the first time? After reading everyone's stories, I'm afraid my "cancellation" will end up being bogus as well. I'm off to call my credit card company to put a block on any future charges from this company.

Hello All,

I am stunned about what I hear! I have used this product for two weeks I lost 13 lbs.

It is obvious that people on here are truly upset and I can see how you would be upset!

The food is fat free, it is not supposed to taste like the fattening foods you have been eating all your life!

The glysimic factor means out with the bad carbs in with the good carbs.

It is obvious that none of you are truly dedicated to losing weight based on your complaints! They are not going to send you salad now! They make it pretty simple but do you want them to feed it to you too?

Some of the food doesn’t taste great but you have to remember that which is bad for you is the fat and that is what tastes so good that every one is addicted to that will kill you.

If you are not happy with the product do not toss it, put it on craigs list sell it if it is still within the sale by date! There are people out there who are committed to losing weight and will stick with NS.

NS has taught me so much about myself and about eating healthy!

Hope this helps.
Ladies & gentlemen!!! You'd be way better off getting your colon cleansed 3-4 times a month, eating healthier & exercising! It's a whole lot cheaper also :)

What a rip off. I will not return this crap. I will simply feed it to my dog. He probably wont eat it either. But, I never liked that dog. He pisses on my carpet. This will teach him.

I had better food in prison!
Tasted like garbage. Meal plan recommends more supplemental food than what they ship. Made me sick.

My only complaint that I have is that they never show anybody who is 200 to 300 lbs. over weight. They just show people who are a little puggie.

I tried Nutri system years ago.. I have never said anything about my experience and then I came across this website. When I went to the center all they wanted to do was sell me their product...I have had Crohns disease since I was 16...I told them this and I will point out I was 127 pound at 5'6..I felt I needed to drop some weight and they sold me a "deal" for $350..

My point is that they never cared about my well being and yes the food was awful and made me very sick..I did not need to lose weight but was made to beleive that I did...I was young and very naive at the time..

I currantly would like to lose some weight now (needed!) that is what brought me to the web and I am grateful I found this website!

I ordered Nutrisystem through [] and am having a very hard time getting the items I've ordered and paid for. All in all some of the foods aren't bad but the Nutrisystem customer service people lie when incorrect items are shipped. I was told by Nutrisystem on 4/15/08 that an item had been discontinued when in fact it hadn't. I checked Nutrisystem and [] online and the item was available and a counselor even confirmed that it was available. Even [] won't help with a Nutrisystem order. So you have NO support from both fronts.

Don't trust them, the items are expensive, and don't believe them when they say they care. Why would they? They are in the business of selling food just like [] and the other high priced so called diet plans or healthly eating plans. Beware and becareful if you decide to try them.

Call these offers before buying and tell them you are aware of all these complaints. You will be amazed at what they tell you!!!!!
I did this for the Magic Bullet and nutrisystems and the sharpening tool and drill bit sharpener tool. They noted my call with a surprising amount of interest!
I tried Nutrisystems' vegetarian meal plan and found it lacking in variety. Food was okay but most of it has tomato sauce which gets old after a while. My biggest complaint is in cancelling the autoship. Nutrisystem boasts that you may cancel your plan at anytime before ship date of your next order. I cancelled over 2 weeks before my next ship date, received a confirmation number and was told I would not receive anything from Nutrisystems. A few days ago I received an email stating my order was being shipped. I called and was told my account was active. So I cancelled again and recevied another confirmation number and was told the package would be intercepted and at that time my credit card would not be billed. I am sitting at home working today and my doorbell rings...and...it is my Nutrisystems order. I called again and was told that UPS will send back my order. My credit card has been charged and it will take up to 5 days to receive a credit. I am very angry and this is such poor customer service.

I have been overweight all my life and originally tried nutrisystem in the early '90's. At this time the program was wonderful. I lost over 100 lbs, but over many years gained it back. On the original program the food was pretty good, and plentiful. I never added to the food I purchased, and was never able to eat it all. I felt I was always eating. Since I had such success with Nutrisystem previously, I decided to try it again. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the program this time. Since the last time I was on the program I was never hungry and always had plenty of food, I assumed it was the same. This is not so. The portions are so much smaller, and the food did not taste as good as I remembered. I was not happy that I would need to purchase more food to compliment the food I had ordered. I found that with the cost of the Nutrisystem food plus what I was purchasing at the grocery store, the total cost of the food was $400 to $500 a month. While I did lose weight with Nutrisystem, the total cost of the program was just too expensive. Plus, if you work full time and are not home during the day, it is very difficult to receive the food every month, since you have to sign for the food, so have to be home when it is delivered.

I do not recommend this disgusting product to anyone! With only a few exceptions, the food is not appetizing and some are absolutely repulsive. I'm a guy who will pretty much eat anyting, but their food is awful and the portions are unreasonably small, which caused me to overeat! The final straw was on March 8, 2008. I consumed two meals and became very ill within about an hour. After violently vomiting, I slowly recovered. This was witnessed by a family member who is a medical doctor and ruled out other reasonable causes. I immediately reported the incident Monday morning, March 10, 2008, to a floor supervisor who identified herself as Sheila. She show zero compassion or concern for my terrible incident and offered no apology. She kept me on the phone for about twenty minutes taking allegedly an incident report and quickly sent me packing. All I wanted was a refund for my order and return the unused "food" substances to the company. She said to wait 24-48 hours for company follow-up. A full business week past and I pretty much got to start all over again on Friday morning, March 14, 2008, with a new floor supervisor, Lourdes @ ext. 3710. She was very kind, apologetic, and said she would investigate and call me back in about an hour with a response. She also said she would have a talk with Sheila about her attitude. Big surprise: NO phone call! After waiting over 12 hours, I called Lourdes' extension and received her voice mail. I left her a good one! Now lets she if she calls back and does the right thing or forces me to call a personal injury attorney (There are hundreds in our local phone book) and see if he or she decides to seek more than a simple refund for me--I doubt it! By reading other postings on this board, it looks like a class action suit might be the way to go with this heartless, shameless, unscrupulous, no-customer service providing, poison-producing collections of corporate scum! Those TV endorsements are either paid and carefully coached or complete and total fabrications! Their slogan should be, NUTRI SYSTEM, taste awful & makes you sick!"

I ordered the Nutrisystem in hopes of following a more organized meal plan that would cut stress out of our weekly grocery store trips, and allow me to lose weight in addition to exercise. The food is terrible. It tastes awful, and I got very sick from eating it. I hate how you're expected to buy additional foods to add on to what they give you. $300 is a lot of money for food for a single person per month. Spending even more money on more food is not exactly something people are going to want to do after spending $300. If you end up wanting a refund, you have to pay to ship the box back which will cost you about $20. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Nutri System to anyone. If you want to lose weight, you need to exercise on a daily basis, and you need to eat healthier. If you need to learn how to eat healthier, join Weight Watchers. No dieting, no scams. It just teaches you how to eat better and gives you an extra push in the right direction. Stay away from this system if you can. The food is really terrible, and it's just not worth the money.

I ordered Nutri-system for my fiancee. We got the package and it is huge. An entire month's food all at once. She hates it. It also made her sick a little. The portions are tiny. Very tiny. The meals they give you are only like 500 calories for a whole day. You need to supplement what they give you with a lot of fresh food and stuff in order to prevent starving yourself. They advertise this as if it is the solution to all your diet problems and you do not need to add anything to it, it is ALL you need. Not true. For example, you get 1.2 oz of cereal for breakfast. It's like maybe 1/2 cups worth. One of the cups of soup was all gravy with literally 10 pieces of food in it. That is not what I call soup. Is this stuff supposed to fill you up? They tell you you won't be hungry or starving. Yea, that's cuz you have to add other stuff until you're not hungry! Not because they give you generous portions of healthy food! I called to complain and I said I wanted to ship it back. I didn't pay to ship it here, I thought they'd pay to ship it back too, as most retailers do when you aren't satisfied. Wrong. They said they'd refund the entire amount, less what was eaten[how they calculate that I don't know] but I had to pay for shipping. "Satisfaction guaranteed" right? No. I am not getting a full refund if I have to pay like $25.00 to ship this garbage back. This is a huge, heavy box. It is not going to be cheap to ship. I spoke to a supervisor and she said she was not authorized to pay for shipping and she was arguing that we don't know it was the nutri-system that made her sick and blah blah blah not all companies pay to ship products back. Good companies do. Reputable companies pay for return shipping if you are disgusted with their product. She just kept arguing with me that they don't have to pay for shipping and there's nothing wrong with their product so it's not their responsibility. She wouldn't budge so she gave me her supervisors voice mail as she was not in, it is late Friday night. I don't know why she bothered arguing with me it's not like I'm going to say "Oh,yea I want to pay for shipping now. That makes so much sense that I should pay to return a product I am wholly not satisfied with". I left a voice mail on the 2nd sups extension and I am waiting for a call Monday. I'll post again with the results.

Received my order of the nutrisystem Advanced New for 2008 program, today. I did NOT get what I ordered. And the 7 days of "free" food that came with this offer is food I can not, or will not, eat. When I called to complain, I kept getting recorded menus to choose from until I tried other numbers. When I FINALLY was connected to a real person, I was told that I could exchange the items I didn't want for ones that I did want, or I could return everything within 30 days. Of course with each option, I would have to PAY FOR SHIPPING!!!! And the "food"!! I tried one of the desserts. It tastes like starched cardboard!!!! Oh. And their idea of a "meal" ..... my FISH eat more than that!!!! Stay away from nutrisystem!!!! It is a TOTAL waste of money. Even if you desperately need to lose weight (as I do), you can do it ON YOUR OWN, and / or with the help of friends and family.

I ordered this product 2 years ago, and I did it for 3 months before I gave up on it. I recieved the food in a big box. At first I thought it was interesting, and I liked to be able to select what I want to eat. However, after a few weeks, the taste got boring. It was high in sodium, and it felt like it was processed in a factory. The foods you see on TV looks NOTHING like what you see on TV. Most of us, we microwave the food and eat right out of the tray. I never lost any weigh with it, mostly because I got bored with the taste later and started eating other things. I also didn't like the idea that my food got shipped to me via a large box with a whole month's supply of food. You easily run out of space in your kitchen.

I ordered the 60-and-over Nutri System plan through [] - seemed like a relatively good deal that I thought would help me "jump start" my desire to lose weight - I need to lose 40 pounds for health reasons. The meals are disgusting and high in sodium and preservatives. I actually developed a food-related rash, and I know it was from attempting to follow it for 2 weeks. Called Nutri-System to complain and to return unused portions - was told they couldn't help me because I'd ordered it through []. [] told me to box up unused portions and I could receive credit. I haven't done that yet, but I have a feeling the cost to return it will be more than what I'd be credited. I'm totally disgusted with the whole thing - the food is disgusting.

I finally caved in to the non-stop nutisystem ads that showed FRESH, attractive food sent directly to your home. What I was sent was powdered, horrible tasting food that I just couldn't eat. I felt that they did not represent their food correctly in the ads and that is what they are selling-- the food. Another big issue is that I ordered specific food and received food they picked out for me to eat which was really bad. Nothing comes refridgerated - it's all perservative filled and gross. Please be warned about this system of weight loss. It isn't healthy and is not eatible.

Long post, so please bear with me: I bought this product a few months ago. I ordered one month, non-recurring. As many others have stated, the food was very gross. There were few food items that I was able to actually eat. The food gave me very bad gas, which was both unpleasant and embarrassing. The ad is a bit misleading, as you do have to buy extra veggies, fruit, and dairy products to supplement the food ordered. I originally bought this food thinking that it would help me stick with a food budget, but wound up going over. I did not return the product, but rather gave what I had left over to a co-worker who was considering the diet. That way she could find out if she had any bad reactions like I did. I will say that this diet did teach me both portion control and healthier food choices. So it turned out to not be all bad, although my doctor already told me way back in high school to eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. If you are considering using this diet, I strongly encourage you to just use common sense at the grocery store. Eat multiple smaller meals that include more veggies and fruit. Keep down the fat and salt content. Get at least 15 minutes of exercise a day (even walking helps). I have another co-worker who is doing nothing more than being smarter with her trips to the grocery store, eating less fat and making healthier choices. She also works out 2-3 times a week at the local Curves, and the weight is melting off of her. She is doing nothing more than everyone all over the place already tells us to do. Don't waste your money on this stuff like I did.
