I too had beautiful exotic wood floors intalled in my home. I too used Orange Glo Cleaner and Polish. My beautiful shinny floors are now dull and ugly! I hate it. I am so upset. I wrote to the company today. I will let you know what they have to say. I will try windex too. I hope it works. I want my beautiful floors back!!

Orange Glo is horrible! I can't believe how it ruined my exotic hardwood floors. The wood alone was $4000 and that's without installation! I am thankful I found this board.

As everyone else I have used Orange Glo for my once beautiful Oak Floors. I thought this product would help my floors look nice and beautiful, instead they are an ugly, smeared, dull and icky looking oak floor. The feel of the floor is horrible. It's sticky to the touch and God forbid you don't use shoes, otherwise your feet tend to stick to the floor. And this is from one use only. I have tried everything to remove it. NO LUCK! Hopefully this suggestion with Windex will work. BEWARE of this company. So much for customer satisfaction guarantee.

This product should be taken off the market. I tried Orange Glo after seeing the many commercials showing the lovely shine it left on hardwood floors. So, I went out to buy it to try. What a disappointment. It left drip marks & swirly streaks every where I sprayed it--in a different hue than my floor finish! My once beautiful floors are now even less shiny & all the dots & swirls are visable. I am praying I do not have to hire a professional to repair them. See the web-site [] for suggestions & other unhappy customers. I too hope for a class action suit.

Orange Glo is terrible!! I usually use [] or [] products on my once beautiful oak floor. I thought that Orange Glo would be a good product and gave it a shot. What a mistake! Now I have about 1200 square feet that I am going to have to scrub on my hands and knees to get this crap off the floor. I can't believe the mess it made. I tried a mixture of 1/4 cup vinegar in 1/2 gallon of water, and it seems to be working, but how long will it take? This is the most terrible product I have ever tried. I wish I could get damages from the company as everyone posting here should.

Save your hardwood floors from the monster scammer Orange GLO floor refinisher system...I saw it advertised on T.V. and thought it would be a good idea. boy was I wrong. I followed the directions to the letter and was left with a smeary mess. After trying ammonia and water, and then vinegar and water I had no other approach (the ammonia and water idea came from the company ). I was sick...thought that I had ruined my six month old hardwood floor. Then I happened to see a recommendation for [] as the cleaner to get the smeary, cloudy floor back to its original condition and it worked wonders! I sprayed it on an wiped it immediately up (using elbow grease)and the gunky orange glo was gone after the floor dried. I used a clean soft damp towel and kept turning it as I went. Perhaps this worked well for me b/c I had not left that gunk on my floor for more than 15 minutes before I noticed that it was smeary and cloudy. Test the [] in an out of the way spot first to make sure that it will be successful on your
floor. Good luck and God bless []!!! p.S. This Orange Glo product should be taken off of the market and there should be a class action suit against the manufacturer. (Though on their label they refuse to accept any responsibility if you are not happy!
One word for cleaning up that gunk Orange Glo floor refinisher system cleaner....WINDEX...spray it on is a test area and wipe it up with a clean soft damp cloth...turning it as you go. Worked immediately and restored my hardwood floor to its original condition. I used original Windex in the spray bottle. This product should be taken off of the market and there should be a class action suit. I followed the directions to the letter and wound up with a mess!

I used orange glo on over 1000 sq. ft. of brand new hardwood in my brand new house. Well, it was brand new a year ago. It looked so awful. The floor almost looked as though I had spread watered down Elmers glue. It felt like it too - totally sticky. My pets hair was clumping in certain spots. Everywhere I walked I saw my footprints. I couldn't seem to get it off, even with paint thinner which is what [] told me to do (crazy). After endless searching I ended up buying an ebook that told me a pretty simple process to get it off. It took a little elbow grease but my floors are back to normal. I think you can find it by searching [] for []. Cost about $8-$10 (can't remember, it's been a while). The guy who wrote the info is really nice and offers suggestions for regular maintenance. This stuff should be taken off the market. They are destroying peoples floors. Most definitely the worst consumer cleaning product I've ever come across.

Do Not Use This Product! I used Orange Glo cleaner a couple of times and it seemed to work ok. Then I tried the cleaner/polisher. It looked shiny and nice. However, the second time I used it there was a haze all over my floors. They look horrible! I called customer service and they gave me "recipe" of amonia and water. This would remove the "build up". I asked what kind of build up since this is the only product I've used. The customer service rep wouldn't really answer. I have tried the amonia and water twice and my floor still looks horrible! I will try the windex and pray that works. Orange Glo is terrible!!!!

I have about 500 square feet of oak flooring. It was looking dull, it didn't really need refinishing, just refreshing. I bought the Orange Glo kit, with cleaner, polisher and refinisher. I used the product and my foors became duller and everything that touched it appeared to have a even duller rub mark. They looked far worse than when I started. I also could not get it off. I read several internet posts and posters suggested Windex, ammonia, and vinegar. I felt I had nothing to lose, so I moved a cabinet that always stayed in one place. I used painters tape to divide the area into three spaces. I tried all three. The ammonia worked the best. I took off a slimy layer of residue. I did all of the floor. I used 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water in a spray bottle. I sprayed a 2 foot square, let it set a couple minutes, then rubbed with a terry cloth rag. It removed the residue. In some places it also left some of the now white residue in the cracks and crevices of the floor. I had to use my steam cleaner to blast it out. Now the floor was finally clean but looked very dull. I used Miniwax hardwood floor restorer. You have to put it on very thick, but the floor looks great. I also have a tip on doing this. I do not have the space to store all the furniture to do all the floor at once, so I did it in sections. I used painters tape wall to wall along the edge of a row of boards. On top of that I put painters tape that is attached to a 2 ft wide strip of drop cloth. I taped the drop cloth to the wall. This controlled the over spray of the ammonia and any splash from the refinisher. I waited 24 hrs. removed the tape, taped on the edge of what was just finished and stated a new section. When I was finished you could not tell the difference. I probably have close to 24 hrs of work involved in this. Orange Glo should be sued for the false advertising. I now use a steam mop for routine cleaning. It works great.

We tried the orange glo cleaner and refinisher on our 8 year old Engineered Bruce Hardwood floor (polyurethane finish). It didn't need it, but we wanted to make it nicer and shiny to better sell our house. WRONG DECISION!! We are now delaying by a week the open house to clean the mess Orange Glo left behind. We tried every possible cleaning product before reading this blog. Thanks to this blog we finally tried Windex and it works like a charm. Don't waste any other time: use Windex. Personally here is what I do: 1) I soak a cloth in the Windex and I distribute it on the floor. 2) I leave it for one minute minimum (2-3 minute didn't do any good/bad). 3) I push a microfiber clean cloth with some pressure on the floor away from me. 4) You will see the finish to lift off and accumulating in front of your cloth like small white worms (maybe this is what this product is). 5) With a more dry cloth remove all the excess Windex and try to leave your floor dry 6) Rinse the other cloth with water to get rid of the "worms" and restart
Remember there is absolutely NO need to pass a 2nd time: one time is enough.
I have 2500sqfeet of hardwood floor and I had enjoyed 4 nice after dinner doing exercise bent on the floor, together with my wife.
DO NOT use Orange Glo!!
Thanks Windex you are an hero!

My housekeeper used Orange Glo on our brand new dark walnut wood flooring and in days- there were cloudy streaks and a dull haze ALL over the floor where the Orange Glo was used. I have tried several methods of removing it but nothing has worked yet. I will try Windex after reading this blog... and its possible I will pursue a claim against the company for the damage.

We tried the orange glo cleaner and refinisher on our 7 year old bamboo floors. The product was used per directions to the tee! The end result was that our floors had a haze glue like finish..! I immediately went to the net and found the trick of using windex on the floor to lift the finish. Let th windex sit on the floor for 30 seconds to one minute and start scrubbing. The finish will lift off eventually. We are furious that this product is being sold at Bed Bath and Beyond for years now. I will visit the store with my feedback. I highly recommend you DO NOT purchase this product!!

2 year old hardwood floors and they were looking dull, so I used orange glo. They looked great for just a few days and then streaks started showing up and I tired to clean with just a damp mop and they just looked worse. I called the company that put the hardwoods down and the 1sr comment out of their mouth was "I hope you did not use Orange Glo" because if you did your floors will need refinishing at $2.25 a square foot. After they did some research they also found someone who can clean these floors with a new cleaner (machine) for $1.00 per square foot. They are coming this week to give me an estimate and try a small area to see if it will work. After reading this I am going to try to Windex.
Orange-Glo should be taken off the market and I wish I had seen this site prior to using the product.

We put down hardwoods last year (2007). They looked great, used Swifter to clean them and it did a good job but I thought I should try Orange Glo because of the commerical. BIG mistake, my floors looked good for only a day then looked greasy and dirty. Tried to re-clean them with the wet Swifter and only smeared the stuff. Finally found a product to take that Orange Glo off the floor. Use a soft cloth (like a cloth diaper or microfiber one) and your floors will get back to the original finish. LOTS of hard work but at least I didn't have to refinish my floors. Orange Glo should be taken off the market. If my floors had been runied you bet I would have persued the company and at the very least given them a bad rap. For those of you whose floors have been ruined, the best way to fight back it to keep writing blogs and letters to your newspapers or TV stations.

I just used the orange glow refinisher on our brand new wood floor, of our brand new condo, which we just moved into three weeks ago. This product has ruined the floor. It looks terrible. There are streaks all over and I applied it as instructed. I have scrubbed the floor on my hands and knees with the floor cleaner and it doesn't come off. I called the toll free number and they said I have to get a hard wood floor specialists. Does anyone have any recommendations? Please help.

This "ruined" my floors too, but I found a way to fix them without expensive refinishing: rubbing the Orange Glo off with Windex, of all things, and a lint-free cloth. It took tons of elbow grease but it did work!
Why do they sell this stuff?

*This is in reference to the Orange Glo hardwood floor kit which includes the mop, microfiber pad and cleaner/polish.*
My house has about 800 square feet of brand new hardwood floors. The first time I applied the Orange Glo, I was AMAZED at the results. It was very shiny with that "GLO". A few days later, I noticed there was quite a few smudges and footprints, so what did I do? YES, I slapped on some more of the shiteous potion, unaware of the damage I was doing to my floors.
A couple months into this thing, the smudging only became worse so I tried to clean...HOT MESS! There was so much residue on the floors, it streaked something fierce! The more I tried to clean, the more it streaked. My brand new floors looked dull and milky. Before this, I could just apply more Orange Glo and it would go away, but after a while, that didn't even work.
I panicked, and I bought the Shark Steam Mop (LOL, yes, yet ANOTHER infomercial product) and I actually like the mop. It removed quite a bit of the residue. Then I read a review about using Windex to remove Orange Glo. It worked!!! I spent 5 hours on my hands and knees doing 2x2 sections with Windex and a towel. Then I ran the Steam mop over it one more time.
My floors are now like brand new again! I think my case is not very extreme as I was using the vile liquid for only about 2 months. I hate to think what would happen if I used it a year or more!!
