Bought this unit from the infomercial. Haven't used it a year and the support strut for the fly wheel (that's welded to the floor support) has fractured. There is no way that this could be mended. The unit is just totally garbage!

My mom bought this for me a few years ago. It worked pretty well for a while and I used it almost every day for 45-60 mins. I used it for several months then it started squeaking like crazy. I oiled it, but it kept making the worst noises. Then I realized there were metal shavings on my rug. The cylinder that held the pedal to the crankshaft was being destroyed and ground down! I called for replacement parts. Over the course of several months they could not get the part and finally sent me a new one free of charge except for shipping. I put the new one together and within a few months, ground down the cylinder of that one too! I have to add that I'm only 5'2" and weigh 130 lbs so my weight was not over the limit. I researched it online and found that MANY people have complained about the metal being ground down. They are just using cheap metal. So I gave that up entirely and now I'm doing a weight lifting program at my gym called [] which is 1000 times better than the crappy cardio I used to do and I feel better too. I also bought a rebounder for home when I'm in the mood for a bit of cardio and its really fun.

Bought the Orbitrek Platinum. Arrived with a part missing. They tell me at customer service that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to get me a bolT! They took my money and I must wait for a lousy bolt. Very poor warranty service.

Box all torn up when arrived via UPS...not returnable due box condition.Misthreaded bolt had to be rethreaded to install. No flywheel breeze as said on TV infomercial.Tension control does not increase tension, therefore, poor/low work out intensity-not enough to sweat or burn calories or get cardio level heart rate acceleration.Poor customer service, nothing but excuses about all above subjects. No action or offer to make restitution...only to return product at my exopense and to buy a new box myself!!! Outrageous!Cost to return, around $100 including box.  Cost of machine with shipping and hadling, about $250.   Goodbye to THANE.  I'll never fall for their lies again. They sold me a piece of junk they were not willing to stand behind.
