What an aggravation. Save your money and boil your water on the stove. I got overdone pasta, a burned hand and a husband whose pissed that I spent money on this dumb thing. What a waste.

I bought this product (on discount, thankfully), and tried to use it. It took longer to cook pasta in this than it does the "old-fashioned" way. It's a waste of money.

I'm sure you all have the same type of stories, so I won't go into all the details. Bought this item on clearance from a store, so I don't feel I was hit so badly, I just wanted to see how it worked. The truth is that is DOESN'T work. I tried to cook spaghetti several times. Once, the pasta was overdone, the next time quite underdone. Since each pasta cooks differently, you can never count on exact times. Secondly, after using the thing three or four times, the plastic cracked from top to bottom from the boiling water.

Pasta Express: instruction manual sais that once you pour boiling water in container with pasta in it, you should close and lock the thermal lid. dont do it, locked does not mean locked. if you tip the container to reach the top of your long pasta, the water will flow out FREELY an burn your hand(s). I wrote to them about it and they say I just used the product improperly; no where in the manual does it say do not tip container because "locked" does not really mean "locked". Poorly written instruction manual; any human would interpret "locked" as meaning the water is "locked in. NOT. Has anyone else been burned by this product which should be taken off the market???

The pasta maker is extremely disappointing, quite frankly, it's piece of crap. I agree w/everyone else's complaint in respect to the lids not coming off, you do your best to remove the cap from the straining lid, trying hard not to snap it whilst taking it off and then you are left dealing with disgusting, sticky and gluey pasta. I even tried to put the least amount of pasta into it as possible, which wasn't enough for the meal which I was preparing...just to see if that made a difference. NOT!!! The smaller amount of pasta was just as bad as a larger amount. This product is useless and a piece of CRAP! Obviously on the infomercial they have PRECOOKED pastas ready and waiting for advertising ploy, same as the days of "pulling out a fresh clean white shirt" from a washing machine, they USE a brand new shirt. This is appalling how these companies have the ability to get away with false representation and dishonest marketing ploys. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS PIECE OF CRAP OR THE TOBY STEAMER FOR THAT MATTER.

I thought it looks like it would work great so I bought one at the store. Used it that night and ended up with a bad burn on my hand because when I went to strain the lid came off. I tried to used it a couple of times since then and figured it's not that hard to boil a pot of water. How do these people get away with false advertising???

I recieved the Pasta Express for Christmas last year from my mom who has a habit of buying things on TV. I own high end cookware and wondered how this product could make my Spaghetti making any easier, so I got it out and tried it. First of all, the lids are almost impossible to put on, especially when there's boiling water and steam directly beneath your hands. Then you have to wait for the pasta to be done...or what I should say is you have to wait for the pasta to stick together into one messy clump. I'll stick with the old fashioned way...but I HAVE found some uses for the Pasta Express for those of you who have already bought it: -The big one makes a great vase -I use the little one to wash my dog -When our A/C was leaking this summer, we put the large one under the leak and it saved our carpet! Thanks Pasta Express!

Terrible Terrible. Where do I begin? After purchasing for the special one time price of, you guessed it, $19.95, I waited 9 weeks before I received it. I'm always skeptical, but I thought, what the heck. So after reading the directions, I got out a pan and BOILED some water which took about 8 minutes. After I poured the water in, I added the noodles and watch and watched AND WATCHED. I waited 10 minutes before the noodles even looked remotely cooked. I opened up the lid and checked the noodles and they still seemed a little undercooked, but I was making spaghetti anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. I popped the lid back on, making sure it was closed and drained it, when, to my dismay, the lid came off and my pasta was ruined. In the time it took me to use my "handy cooker", I could have make enough meals to feed 20 people. It was like watching paint dry. DO NOT BUY!

The Pasta Express was given to me as a gift. The firdt time I used it, I could tell after the recomended time was up the pasta was not getting done, as I went to pore the contents out I reached up to hold the lid secure and the lid popped off scalding my right hand and causing large blisters to form between three of my figers. Not only does this product not work it is dangerous to use.

Please do not buy this product. My family tried to use it 10 times. 10 times and it never cook any pasta the container is being used to store nail and misc. items. I could have purchased a what not container for $2.00.

I too found this product useless, and not what was advertised. I was never successful in getting any pasta to cook appropriately with it, though I followed the instructions to a T... invreased time, etc. It simply doesn't work. And, the top came off on me draining and burned my hand. The only thing it does do as advertised is display uncooked pasta. Buyer beware!

I threw mine in the trash. Wasn't even worth giving away to charity. A complete disappointment. The pasta took just as long to make, and it wasn't even cooked. It was starchy and sticky and basically still raw. I hate how these infomercials make the food look so good. It's faster just to boil water and make your pasta the regular way. At least it wasn't too pricey, we picked ours up at a trade show for $15CDN. But still, when that's the only thing you bring home, only to throw it away, it sucks.

Total garbage product. Takes 3 times longer for pasta to cook than directions indicate. Also, burned the bejesus out of my hand when boiling water poured over the top when the "heat-shield" came off. Another made-in-china piece of crap.

I bought the Pasta Express using [], thinking that, as a college student, it would be a really easy and fast way to make meals. Not having a vessel to boil enough water to fill the whole thing, I bought ziti to reduce the amount of water needed. I had to heat water twice to even get close to cooked pasta- AND took at least 20 minutes to cook... when the pasta box says 8-10 minutes. Still, the pasta was always under- or overcooked, gummy, and always stuck together. Sauce and parmesaen cheese doesn't hide the horrible taste of the pasta. The tube is difficult to clean, the strainer top is *very* difficult to snap on, but comes off easily, and the thermal wrap doesn't seem to keep heat. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

I have a Pasta Express and I've never used a product so bad. The spgahetti I tried to make with it was so pasty that I would never have wanted to eat it. Plus, if I've got to heat water in a pot for it so I can have boiling water, then I might as well throw in the spaghetti. I let it sit for 13 minutes and it was still not cooked and tasted terrible. I had to boil more water and finish cooking the spaghetti over the stove. I can not imagine that anyone would recommend this product. It was a very big waste of my money and also my time. It took me 7 minutes to boil the water - then another 13 minutes to try and cook the spaghetti. Your directions that say the pasta will cook in 7-10 minutes is very misleading. I could have certainly cooked it on the stove a lot faster and easier.

I am soooo disappointed with this product. It will not cook the noodles completely. The first time I used it, it took almost an hour to cook a box of noodles. I had to drain it once and add water a second time just to get the noodles almost edible. It just won't keep the water hot enough to cook the noodles. It a waste of $ and takes longer than using a regular pot.

I bought this and used it one time. It is a piece of crap. The pasta does not cook, it just clumps together and makes a total mess. The infomercial is a total lie. I tried to get my money back, but had no luck doing so. I think it is easier to boil water, in a pot and do it that way. I am really disappointed in these woman on the infomercial, they should know better!!! Do not buy this product!!!!

I'm afraid this one just doesn't work as advertised for making pasta. Works OK for asparagus, other vegetables- just not pasta. Doesn't cook it, pasta sticks, tastes raw, not al dente. Tried it several times- I give up. Waste of $. And I bought a tea kettle to boil the water to boot!

I purchased my Pasta Express at my local [] store...thank goodness it was only ten dollars...I guess it is true that you get what you pay for... It works absolutely horribly on Pastas...The only thing it is good for is to steam veggies...and that is much more easily accomplishes with one of those dollar store veggie steamers...true, you do not have to wash out any pots and strainers, but you still have to clean and wash all the parts...so you may as well just use that cheap little metal steamer...and the water does not even have to be strained...

My wife actually bought 2 of these, Pasta Express tubes. The first one she bought at []. We tried using it and the first time we poured boiling hot water into it the side of the tube fractured lengthwise. spilling the water all over the kitchen. It's a real wonder she wasn't severely burned. She took it back to []. They returned her money, because they no longer carried it. because of customer returns and complaints. My wife ordered another one from []. It came with 2 tubes, a short one and a long one. It came with a cap for each. We used one tube, the short one a couple of times. It worked real nice. The yellow lib fit the short one. We then used the long one this evening. We used the red lid. I made sure the lid had snapped on before filling the tube with boiling water. When the cooking time was up I turned the tube up in the sink. Instantly the lid popped off and all of our pasta went into the sink. We ended having Swiss Steak on slices of bread. We didn't have any more pasta. After getting over my enraged response, I began looking at the tubes and the lids. I discovered that the yellow lid fits both tubes tightly and it actually difficult to remove. The red lid does not fit tightly on either tube. It appears to be slightly larger size and even when it snaps on, as it should, it slips off very easily. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. There is no phone number or E-Mail address for the distributor, Tristar Products, which sells all kinds of gadgets on TV. We are filing a complaint with [] about our problem with this product.
