Well, i bought pro activ and used it for 2 months maybe even more, nothing went wrong besides i kept getting little pimples evert now and again, but i spoke to the providers that sold me the product and said it was normal so i continued to use it. My skin kept getting pimples after one had gone away another would come up and it made my skin flaky so i stopped using it and see if it go back to normal. Since i stopped more pimples started coming out and it wouldnt go away, as i started to get really upset, angry and insecure and my mood was put down each time i thought about it.
However i stopped using it for a couple of days then i used it again for one day, next day i woke up, the proactiv had burnt my skin, made it real red, dry and itchy not just that but worse, my eyes were swallen and had gotten real bad and didnt go away for 3 days.
i didnt know who to talk to or what to do so i just left it, i used it 2 more times for emergencys because i had nothing else, and it happened again, my eyes were so bad that i had to go to an after hour medical centre and i had to get an injection so it would go down, which that made me real tired, it went down real quick but not completly.
The lest time, it made my face real red and itchy and abit puffed around my eyes which i still have it now today and this occured yesterday.
I am so dissapointed and angry because my skin has been ruined and i still have spots which i never had before which is not going away because of the product, and yes it did have a warning sign and i tested it but like i said nothing happened for about 2 months which is really weird, and money wasted, i bought two packs.
I have wanted it gone for months now, but its worse i hate it and i look worse then i ever have, proactiv has ruined my skin even they told me it would be good and that has not happened.

I wouldn't recommend Proactiv to anyone. As a teenager, I suffered with acne, but it was never really terrible. I am now 29 years old and I just recently tried this product. I used Proactiv for about 5 months. At first, I loved it. I thought my skin was looking better and feeling better. Then, it got to where it was breaking out again. Large red bumps that you couldn't do anything with.
It didn't stop there. I started having these little cysts come up. They actually looked like flat worts. I've never had a flat wort, but I was surfing the net, waiting to see my dermatologist, and I thought that's what I had. When I went to see the dermatologist she wanted to do a biopsy on one of my spots. It was not a flat wort. It was actually where there was so much oil and bacteria under my skin that had built up.
So, guess what. This became cosmetic. My medical insurance will not cover it. I started out about 6 weeks ago with about 20 of these spots on my face. They are worsening and multiplying as time goes on without being on Proactiv, probably about 50 or so. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. The only thing I've ever suffered with is acne. Never a mole, never a wart, thank God for that.
This is so embarassing. All these spots are on my forehead, and a few are scattered on my face. They are actually white, and some have a redness about them. It just makes me feel awful and so depressed. Anyone who has suffered from acne knows how self-conscious you are about your face anyways, and now this, I am so embarassed by it.
My dermatologist is going to freeze these spots off. Since it's cosmetic, I have to pay $35 for the first one and $5 for the others. So, I'm probably looking at $280, plus a $25 copay. How frustrating!
Please do not ever use this product.

I've had very clear skin most of my life, but there was a period where i had mild acne. I decided to order proactiv and got very exited about it. I started using it and at first it made my skin pretty clear! i was happy at first but with time it made it a little bit worse. So i stopped using it. after I quit using proactiv MY FACE BROKE OUT TERRIBLY! I had very nasty cystic acne but I didn't want to go back. I lived with that acne and depression for about 6 7 or 8 months because my skin has never been so terrible, everyone knew me for my flawless skin, and it was emberrasing to go out to see my family or friends.
I started using [] moisturising lotion during the day, and [] acne treatment gel during the night, and now my face is getting back to the way it used to be :D. I thought i would have more scars :S but no :) im happy and I'm never going to use proactiv again! DON'T BUT IT!

Hello,
I bought this product for my wife. As in many other testimonies, Proactiv worked great for the first month. We sent our unused portion back within the refund period and I wrote that I wanted my account cancelled. We received our refund as promised. however, we also received another shipment later. I called customer service. Yari was very polite, asked me to return the package and refunded my money in 3-5 business days. I hope this helps and good luck to you all.

Just reading the stories gives me the chills. Read these before you even think about the word Proactiv.
*Thanks proactive for runining my life.
*I suppose you just have to be patient and let puberty run its course
*Don't waste your money!
*Just stay away from this, you'll regret it
*...not even my doctor could help me ...
*It may stop the acne but your face will look like the surface of the moon!!!!
*Please, save your money, and more importantly, don't cause unnecessary damage to your face by using this crap.
*I was in total shock and stopped using proactive, and of course... it went away.
~End of story~

I'm not writing a scam, but a testimony. I've been using Proactive for over three years, and I've never had a problem. My skin has never looked so great! The product does say to use the product twice a day. Although it did dry my skin the first time I used it, the bottle clearly says to use the product once a day or every other day. After the adjustment, I was able to use it twice a day.
If your skin is ultra sensitive, the Proactiv company says not to use it. The fine print should always be read before you buy. I'm glad it's done wonders for my skin. Thanks!

I think everyone had been over using the proactiv steps. Thats why their face gets over dry, irritate and so forth...
I been using proactiv for awhile now and my skin has been good, no more a bunch of 3-4 acne in one area.
Proactiv is a bit expansive for me, I usually only order the renewing cleanser and put on a little of regular lotion after ward. I used the cleanser one time a day usually in the morning but I dont use makeup so I used a wet cloth, no soap and gently wipe my face or splash some water on my face during the evening.
Although I do not have acne problem I do find that proactiv did helped quite a bit in clearing my acne marks and it did limited to 1-2 acne whenever it appears.
About a years ago I went back to the cleanser at the store, my face was infected with acne month after month. Now its been more then 6 month and I will continue using proactiv renewing cleanser, it helps alot more then the ones at the store.
Don't bother with the 3 steps, or the whatever many cleanser that your using, either the ones at the store or using proactiv, I find that the more I rub things on my face my skin stat to hurt.

I am 29 and have had acne since I was 12. It was never anything that makeup wouldn't cover, but still irritating. I've been to the dermatologist countless times and no prescribtion has ever helped. So - I tried Proactiv. After 2 weeks I thought my acne had improved. Slowly, after a couple of months it got worse. I finally realized that it was not me and the Proactiv was making it worse when I kept getting this giant red pustules that never materialized into a pimple and said 'that's enough!'. I stopped and went back to the simple stuff at the grocery store and my face is 10 times better! Trust me when I tell you DO NOT USE PROACTIV! Not to mention their customer service is the worst in the world. You'll read more about it from the others on this site to. What they say is absolutely true. BEWARE.

I tried Proactiv once, just once, and it made my skin feel dry and tight. My face burned, too, as soon as I scrubbed it in! And then, a few hours later, I got one of those big, painful, red, under-the-skin things on my forehead! I NEVER get those! I searched Proactiv once that happened and found this page: after seeing everyone's complaints, I'm never touching the stuff again!

I've been fortunate that Proactiv has worked for my skin in the past 2 years. It's too bad for the ones that made their skin worse. I did have dry, itchy skin the first week I started using Proactiv but other than that, I've had no problems with it. My teenage daughter started using this product 3 weeks ago, and the changes has been noticeable. It really cleared up a lot of the pimples she had. Beware when you give your credit card info! They would charge without you knowing and it seemed like they did it every month. It would take awhile for their shipment to come but they already have your money. I learned to just mail them a check when they send out a new shipment.

I used it after I got off of steroid treatment for an illness. It worked fine and then after a few months stopped wprking and I had the worst break outs that I ever had in my entire life, I am 35! My skin was never so awful until I exposed my face to this product. The pimples/blemmishes are huge, red and take forever to go away. I wish I would have never used it. To top it off the web-site always has issues, customer service stinks and they take money out of your account an dyou still have to wait like 2 weeks to get your order. I sent a shipment back three weeks ago, a rep. said they haven't received it yet and will credit me when they get it. C'mon they haven't gotten it yet? The celebrities who use this junk are rich enough to use it with other expensive products, this product is not worth the money or all the headaches that come along with it!

Horrible product. It only works for about a month, then after it starts f***ing up your skin horribly. It'll make you break out more and even go as far as to give you cyst like inside pimples that are just abnormally big and unpoppable. If you're looking for a solution to your acne and you've considered Proactiv, please re-consider. I absolutely HATE this product and the fact that the company continues to sell their faulty product. It's a f***ing SCAM!

I am a 40 year old woman looking for solutions to my skin that has recently started to break out again. I used Proactiv for 1 month. It overdried my usually oily skin and also caused me to have an allergic reaction. My skin became red and itchy, and I had to stop using. It took about 2 weeks for my skin to heal. I returned the unused, remaining product to the mall kiosk and did receive a full refund (although they did try to tell me that I owed for s & h - I argued with the person and did receive all of my money back) - the product was never shipped to me because I bought at a mall kiosk, not on-line or by phone. It did take several weeks to get my refund.

Im 26 and started using proactive about 6 months ago. At first it worked great. But a few months ago my face became worse i have never had acne this bad. Now I am getting acne on my neck, and pretty much everywhere else the proactive has touched my skin. I stopped using this product and now my face is horrible. I have never had acne this bad. DO NOT USE THIS unless you want to have acne worse.

DONT USE IT. I use this stuff called [] that really works. [] also has facial washes that all include the zinc and selenium base to help regenerate some of the skins essential components. conlcusion is NO TO PROACTIV YES TO [].

it's so amazing, the skin that there's no pimple, it starts to be come so soft, pores get smaller and smaller. Moreover, pimples get away without zit. Try it! you will know! ;)

Proactiv is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. I tried to cancel my very first order before it was paid, processed or even shipped, but they refused and sent it to me anyway. I sent it back the day after I received it, but they still had a hold on my funds in my PayPal account for the exact amount that I had already paid. I phoned them about this countless times, but they simply refused to do anything about it. I had to wait for a month for the phantom order to expire and I am still waiting for my refund. When I phoned them about my refund they said that it takes 4-6 six weeks before they receive the item. That is a blatant lie, because I returned it via certified mail and according to the tracking number it was delivered only a few days after I sent it. My advice is to steer clear of this company.

i use to use proactive back in high school. (4years ago) I remember i use to have this weird itch on my neck. i never knew what it was. i never had a huge acne problem so i thought proactive was great, cuz my acne cleared next day, but i just ordered it like 2 months ago, and i realized that my acne wasn't goin away. I kept gettin acne, now im breaking out even more than when i barely got it. Gets even worse that itch i had in high school was a rash i had from using proactive. it usually goes away after a few hours, but now i'm pissed cuz i had it since yesterday and it's not going away. It itches, so i cancelled my auto delivery today, and am hoping i get my $ back for the package i had bought. I would say that proactive can work for maybe a temporary, but it can mess u up badly later on!

I have HORRIBLE acne. I've tried this product and all it does is leave your skin BURNING. My skin is peeling and it feels like ive been laying out in the sun for hours. It hurts to smile. I cant even get away with putting on make up because then it will hurt and look really bad with all the skin shedding off!
Also, it looks ten times worse then when I started.
Don't waste your money or your hopes on this product.
I was better off not trying to use this product. I am regretting it.
