I had real mild acne and like everyone else felt self conscoius about it so i order it w/ really high hopes but a month into using it i'm noticing that what used to be mild tiny pimples are now bigger pimples & red and a little bit itchy and now i feel even more self conscious so i will never buy proactiv again it's clearly not for me.

I'm a 15 year old girl, and as you can imagine, i have an occasional pimple here and there. My dad bought proactiv for me with the little money he has because he knew how self-concious i was about my skin. After the first time using it i seemed to have about twice as many pimples as i did before. I thought that maybe it had to get worse before it got better, so i gave it another 2 weeks. My skin has never looked or felt worse. I now have large pores, lots of breakouts, and dry, itchy skin. I'm not just some angry customer embelishing my experience. I'm a freshman in highschool who has to spend an extra 15 minutes putting on makeup to cover my zits. Money loss and gross skin are the last things i need right now.

My teenage son was tired of going to dermatologists for mild acne and asked me if I could purchase the Proactive treatments for him because the commercials were so convincing and reassuring. After using the cleanser and toner, the bumps on his face got larger and more red. He thought if he continued to use the products the bumps would dry up and go away. After a few months, it's only getting worse. No doubt Proactive has helped many customers, but it seems that many more have gotten negative reactions. Proactive is very expensive and it's a shame that many people, especially young adults, are mislead by false claims.

I ordered Proactive online about a month and received an email stating that they were unable to verify my credit card and my order would have to be completed by mail instead. So I never thought twice about it and decided to go about my daily business and home treatments. Then I receive this box in the mail with these vitamins that were a "free gift" with the proactive. I was confused but started taking them anyway. I was throwing up every other day and did not understand why so I stopped taking the pills. I am not in the financial state to get $34 just deducted from my account. I went online to check my history and there was a charge that I was unaware of. It was for vitapower. It was a Sunday so they were closed. I called multiple times and was places on hold just to hear it seconds later click off and get hung up on. So my big question is how in the world can proactive be unable to use my credit card but this other company send me this stuff and charge my card without the knowledge of myself. I have still been unable to receive my refund or my other pills. Where can we go? What can we do to make sure this doesn't happen anymore?

I bought proactive after starting to experience some mild acne. Ha- what a joke this stuff is. Since using it my face has gotten worse. I now have huge areas of acne type bumps and nothing seems to be clearing it up. I guess a trip to the dermatologist is in the near future. Not only do these places hurt but they itch as well. I have my last order they sent in the box and intend to send it back and tell them to stop sending anymore of this crap!!!!!

My daughter purchased this product, she has mild acne and wanted the clear faces of all the "stars" on the infomercials. We also decided to get the trial vitamins for $1. We were not told these were also a membership and on "auto ship". Well this stuff was terrible. She quit using it..figuring maybe her skin was too sensative, I tried using it, since I still have occasional breakouts. I am 37 years old and looked worse than I ever have in my life...My teenage years weren't this bad. We cancelled with pro active and thought all was well until my daughter received a overdraft charge from the bank. Not knowing what it was for I called the number listed on her bank statement with the charge. I wanted to know what the charge was for and I was told it was for more vitamins. I told the guy that we cancelled our account with Pro Active and wanted to know why we were billed and sent this. "We are a different part of the company" I was told. "You should have read the paperwork included with the box, then you would have known that" So basically we now have a bunch of very costly vitamins ($34)and an insufficient funds fee ($31)for something we didn't want and thought we cancelled. Please don't order any of this stuff...save yourself and your child a lot of pain and suffering.

I tryed proactive for my daughter and although it worked great that's not the the issue the issue is vitapower i was offered a free trail basic of the vitapower and befor it arrived i was billed $4.99 on my account i called and canceled. ok no refund was given i said 5 bucks ok thats not much but now that i think abouit how many aothers said the same thing and how rich are these people. 1 month went past and doing my books found that vitapower again deducting from my account $37.80 i was pissed i called and was told i could not cancel although i thought i had already that that the shipment had gone out and i had to wait til i got the pills and send them back yes me pay to send them back once they got them it would take 3 days for my account to be credited then i would have to call again and cancel. My daughter is only 12 and the proactive works great but i would not give her any pills of any kind unless her doctor said so. and it hurts me that after all the teesing she got from classmates for her skin that a company that helped her ended up hurting us in the end. i called proactive and cancelled with them as well they were the root to my problem by offering such a crappy company.

I also recieved the "Vitamins" as a trial use w/ my order of Proactive, w/o ever stateing that I would automatically receive more. After cancelling my subscription to Proactive I later recieved more Vitamins. Called Proactive again, they said the Vitamins come from another company and I needed to contact them for cancellations888-684-9660. After being on hold for 20 min I spoke to a representative who was not to simpathetic about my extra charges and that it was my fault for not questioning Proactive where the vitamins came from. Why would I, I called Proactive, not another company. After shipping my second supply back, I recieved my same package back that I send out to them 5 days later, saying "undeliverable address". Called again, address was correct. rep was not certain why I got it back. So I spent more money and time, sending it back a second time, soon to see I got it back again after another 5 days. Called again. They told me to send it back to a different address (GRN c/o Innotrac Corp @ 4910 Longley Lane, Suite 101,Reno Nv. 89502) and I better hurry or else they will bill my card again!! A$$holes!

Ordered pro-active for my Son. Received the pro-active but 2 weeks later i got a box full of vitamins and a 33.94 charge on my credit card. I threw the box away and disputed the charge and cancelled that credit card. I got a letter in the mail today saying I owe them 33.94. I called the 1-888-848-2797 number and told them I never ordered vitamins. He said "sorry maam, I'll close the account" Lets see if this is the end of that crap.

I'am 25 and have always had clear skin but when I moved to Arizona I started to have serveral breakouts a week! So my boyfriend bought my proactive (I asked for it for christmas) I started using it and almost immediately I started getting more breakouts and big red rash looking things on my skin! I used proactive for about week and within a couple days of stopping my the red rashy spots went away. I switched to a bioelements products and have no problems since then.

I've been useing pro-active solution for about 6 months now, per request of my mother. I've always had terrible skin, since 5th grade, due to an Ovarian syndrome, and I've always been badly teased because of it. I've tried everything from Witch hazel to perscription ointments and soaps. This was a last resort. I never wanted to try it, but my mother demanded it. So, I indulged her, despite hearing testimonials that told me I shouldn't. It worked so good for a month, just enough time for the 30 day money-back gurantee to run out. It was down hill from there. First, i noticed my skin became itchy quite a bit, and then I would get under-skin pimples, that actually would bruise me. Soon, my face became red with little bruises all over it, and would itch and burn. My nose became dry and I began experiencing ' skin dandruff'. My mother demanded I continue with the product though saying it was in my head.I started sophmore year two months ago, and the ridicule for my skin was worse than ever. This week, i finally quite it, without my mother's consent, and my skin look better than it has in months. I plan to request my account be canceled.

Celebs must get paid a fortune to ruin their skin with this product! I ordered it, got it, never had a problem. But the product quit working after a week! I had my boss tell me what she really thought and asked her to watch how my skin changed over the next few weeks. She agreed that it worked for the first week, then after that nothing. If i used the product like they instructed my face burned and was red and dry. If i used it less than they said it didn't work at all. There is no place on the website to cancel it. I called and they talked me into holding the order for 6 mo. My neighbor suggested I use Nutrogena because that's what worked for her as a teenager. So I went to the store keeping in mind i needed something mild for my skin but that would also be a scrub for daily use, since i have a mild case of facial dandruff. I found Nutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub, its blue and has microbeads. Within a week I saw more results with Nutrogena than I ever did with pro activ. Finally I canceled it completely. The girl on the phone was pleasant and appologized for what happened. I would suggest not using this product if you have anything but severly oily skin. As a matter of fact I wrote Nutrogena and told them what a great product they had. They are the only thing i have ever found that works since i hit puberty. lol

I order ProActiv one night during a bout with insomnia. Mistake! When the product arrived it was much smaller than I had thought it would be from the bottles they show on TV. Then when I used it the first time it made my skin feel a little itchy so I did what the instructions said and only used it once a day. Nothing happened. My mild acne never cleared up, and i started having dry peeling skin on my nose. So, unimpressed I called to make sure they wouldn't be sending me any more of their products. No problem the CSR said. A month later I received a package with more product, full sized this time and a bill... I called to tell them that I had canceled and was told they would send a return shipping label I never got, then a week later I started getting reminders that the bill was due. Once again I called customer service. I was told what address to ship the product back to and that they would clear everything up. A month later I got a collection letter from SKO Brenner, a week after that the harrassing phone calls began. I still haven't paid them for something I didn't use, and never wanted. It's been a year and they still send me a collection notice once a month. The product isn't great and the company is a Scam.

I have used Proactive that was purchased by my aunt. My aunt loves it, and I used it knowing full-well what the consequence was going to be. Call me a masochist... The commercial claims it's safe and gentle in contrast to those "harsh creams" used as "spot treatments." This is down-right false. The lotion and cleanser both have Benzoyl Peroxide in them. That's what make those creams "harsh." The chemical itself is extremely irritating and a powerful bleaching agent. Its purpose in acne treatment is to essentially burn the skin off you so that you have new skin quicker. If you have very sensitive skin, I'm sure you know this, as you have most likely had the red rash explosion that feels like someone dunked your head into a vat of acid. If you don't normally have sensitive skin. They may have been a new experience for you that came about from using TWO products contain this on a daily basis. Before you invest in this program, do youself a favor and go to the drug store and buy something with Benzoyl Peroxide in it (it shouldn't be hard to find something in the acne aisle). Test it on an inconspicuous site of sensitive skin (inner thigh, stomach). If it turns red and itches, Proactiv is really not right for you.

My daughter saved all her b-day money and we were off to [] buy proactive I was against it I felt the dermotologist advice to stay away from proactive was correct but she was all for it in the first month it dries up the oils and we are now in the second month and her whole face is covered in acne I finally got online and showed her pictures of other teens I am now off to [] attempt to get my money back I should charge proactive the dermotology bill to fix my daughters face. This product is awful and it is too bad teens have to suffer this way take the product off the market or at least out of []

My sister tried using proactive. she thought it would work perfectly. her skin is always breaking out. she thought proactive would help her but then all of her face started to break out. she started to itch and scratch. she had pain. her face started to swell. right after she put it on. my sister had so much pain. she went to the doctor and they said she should try a different skin cream that will actually help her. it looks good on the comercial, but when you use itit makes you so mad. she was so mad!! mostly because she could not do anything.this makes me and my sister very, very, very, angry at your scaming company.

Ok I fell for this one also. I don't have acne very bad, maybe I get a pimple every now and again. I tried the product because the testimonials said some people said it improved the actual look of their skin which I wanted. Man!! the first couple of times I tried it I thought something was wrong because my skin was on fire! I read someone in the information they sent that it happens sometimes, well after a couple of weeks of burning, stinging, and or itching I stopped using the everything but the cleanser and moisterizer. The irritations stopped but my skin was a mess. I got pimples like every 2 days when I usually get one everything 6 mos!! My skin was so dry lotion didn't help, I looked like I had dry snot in patches on my face and red splotches on the sides on my nose! Something is wrong with this stuff!! I had no problem cancelling though. I emailed them and said please discontinue and I received an email telling me my account was closed. I doubled checked by trying to log onto the website and it was canceled with no further incidents. My friend was not so lucky, she ordered a cleanser from them and they reactivated her old account she hadn't hade for 2 years with them and charged her $80, she also emailed them and got a cancellation email back, she did recieve a refund upon returning the merchandise.
