I have very dry skin to begin with and this product irritates it even further, but I do have to admit that it has worked wonders for my sister. We did have a couple of difficulties canceling our membership but once we did we just decided to buy the product direct from the store.

Hi all. Unlike some of you ,Proactiv seems to work for me but the customer service is so horrendous that it kills me to give them any money. If I could find something else that would clear up my face I would never look back but I am pregnant now and don't want to experiment. I too was passed over to a collection agency after I thought I had canceled my membership and didn't realize it was on my credit report till a year later! When I finally tried to right the wrong by paying the bill it took talking to numerous people at Proactiv and at the collection agency before they told me to send a check and wait 6 weeks and call back to tell them to apply it to the account. Well I did and what do you know I get sent a second shipment and now have two activated memberships. I called to cancel AGAIN and stop this months shipment which was supposedly done in time and find out 3 days after I talked with them that 2 charges are again my bank statement. UGHH. I honestly feel bad for the people answering the phones. Its not their fault that their billing/shipping department is the absolute worst! I would gladly continue using the product if I didn't have an issue with every order that is sent. After the baby comes I am going to try and cut the cord and find a more reputable company to deal with. Good luck to the rest of you out there. I hate to see other people in the same boat but am relieved that its not just me.

This is the second time I have gotten burned by this company. I first ordered the product as a fresh face 19 year old with my first credit card. Once I noticed that my credit card was being billed every month. I "CANCELED" the account. However back then at 19 (I am now 27), I didn't know it couldn't and wouldn't be that simple. Long story short my account with them put my credit card with capitol one in the hole big time due to never getting any money refunded. Then the late fees from Capital on came in...I had it on my credit for 7 yrs all because I wanted clear skin and believe in a commerical that promise me just that!!!!! Now fastforward some yrs I grow up and over that. I got married my husband decided he wanted to get me some proactiv cause he felt it would help me feel better about my skin. Once again we are right here again with proactiv. Even though I warned my husband about them and their "refund policy"!!! You know men!!! They always know it all. So i called to cancel as soon as I was made aware of the purchase. Sadly I was unable to cancel that "trail offer" and proceed to then cancel any further shipments....so I thought!!! Two months later when I thought the coast was clear and no more shipments came I relaxed a bit.....But wait one second..I checked my BOA account only to see a charge for $45.36 on my account....now I really wasn't surprised because of past experience with these people. But what I was shocked about was that they are stilling stealing from the US public and no one have put a stop to them yet..... In closing I would like to say that I have suffered at the hands of proactiv too many times now and so have too many other descent people!!! I am patiently awaiting my response from my last request to cancel my account... After which I am planning legal action against them once and for all!!!! People I hope you all do join me!!!!!!!!!!!!

my younger sis has a minor acne problem , it got worse with this product. It made her face very dry and red. We took her to the dermatologist and she was given a medication she puts on at nite and she washes her face with clean and clear. It looks much better

They say proactive works very well. It may not work for all people but then how is it even different from any other medication out there? It is the exact same ! Why is it so much more of it is the exact same? Im so sure my mom bought this for me to make me happy but instead my face is scared and ugly! It was better when i didnt use it. Thanks proactive for runining my life.

I'm researching Proactiv on behalf of a coworker who's daughter had a bad experiance with the company. She is 15 years old and ordered the stuff, and hated it. The problem is, Proactiv kept sending more stuff that she didn't order. Now they have turned her over to a collection agency for not paying for all the crap they sent. I looking for others with the same experiance.

I bought proactiv 2 weeks ago, i had pretty good skin except for a few minor breakouts, after 2 days my skin started breaking out everywhere, after a week it started burning and hurt to touch, i now have dry scabby patches all over my face, a reciculous amount of pimples and im bright red.

I would say that I have moderate acne, since it's not all that noticeable and I don't feel embarrassed whenever I step out of the house. Just from time to time I'll catch myself in the mirror and go "ugh" at worst. I've been struggling with acne since I was 12. I'm now 17. I have a few noticeable zits that come and go, but my biggest problems are small blackheads on my nose and those red spots you get underneath the skin on my forehead and the sides of my face. For a few years I've been on Tazorac cream and some antibiotics that my dermatologist perscribed to me. The Tazorac does a decent job of getting rid of zits and the antibiotics keep my acne at a reasonable level. Occasionally I'll have breakouts and occasionally my face will have times when it's much clearer than usual. Well I had seen the commercials for ProActiv and I'm embarrassed to say that they actually had me convinced that it might be worth a try. One day my dad told me about how he heard from a woman he knew that she'd bought ProActiv for her son and she said it was doing wonders for his face. She must have purchased it shortly before then, because ProActiv doesn't provide long-lasting results. So my dad bought some at the mall. Fortunetely we didn't order them so we didn't have to endure any billing problems. At first, I followed the directions step by step and for the first week or so it really seemed to be working. My face was cleaner and seemed to have cleared some. I was amazed. I thought that ProActiv wasn't too good to be true afterall. Ironically one of my friends told me he was on ProActiv and told me it didn't work. I figured he just wasn't using it on a daily basis. Wrong! It's been several months since I bought ProActiv and any improvement that was there before is now long gone. Honestly, it doesn't seem to be doing anything more than the cheap stuff you can buy off the shelf at a drugstore. I wouldn't say it's made my face worse, but zits seem to pop up more frequently than usual, some of which are rather large and swollen. ProActiv isn't any different than all the other products out there. In fact, you can probably find a product that actually works for a much cheaper price than what they're charging you for ProActiv. Once I'm finished with this batch I'm stopping and going back to Tazorac. ProActiv's ads promise to get rid of acne once and for all by hitting you with all these bogus miracles that 1% of their customers have experienced. Turns out it's for treating mild cases of acne, even though it advertises itself as a cure for even the most severe acne. Just go to their site and read the testimonials and you'll see what I mean. Bottom line: ProActiv is a rip-off. I'm fortunate (and surprised) that ProActiv hasn't caused any complications with my skin, but I'm afraid that my face will break out once I quit using it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

It was actually my doctor that recommended that I try Proactiv. I never had really bad acne, but since I started getting it a lot younger than most kids my age, my parents were worried it would get worse and figured it wouldn't harm to see the doctor about it. After several years on different creams and what not, my skin became very sensitive to the perscriptions and started to get itchy and dry. When we told the doctor about it, she told us to give Proactiv a try since it was supposed to be less harsh on the skin. It worked great for about 4 months, then suddenly it got worse than it had ever been! When we talked to one of the sales reps about it, they told us it was because I had a 'particularly bad case of acne' (as if I wouldn't know how bad my own acne was?) and that I needed to start ordering all these other products to make it work again. After a few month, we just quit and went back to the doctor. It's been a few years now since then and my acne has pretty much cleared up on its own. I suppose you just have to be patient and let puberty run its course.

I used proactiv for about two or three months and then my face began to swell up, especially my eyes. I could hardly see out of them. And when I did use it my acne did not go away. I have a huge zit on my forehead right now! But fortunately I was offered my money back. I have yet to recieve it but I'm Optimistic.

I purchased this after seeing it on an infomercial a while back. I've had acne but it minute but still lol. It was supposed to come with free express shipping etc... The sales person kept trying to push all these other products on me and insisted that for this product to really work it needed all those products to make it work. Well so after a few weeks and it still wasn't here and it was charged to my account 2 weeks ago I get it in and send it right back. I call them up to let them know it was the way and they said ok they will refund it when they recieve it. So I wait weeks again and call them up repeatedly getting various responses and finally saying the refund will take a few weeks cause of blah blah blah. And still try to talk me into products. A week later theres a charge on my bill for some vitamins, that I didn't even get. I was not informed of any vitamins etc when I bought this. Plus I cancelled it so why am I getting this. I call the company up a few days later and they start pointing fingers at another company vita something that works with them etc, and now I haft to call them up. So everything goes smoothly with the vitamin place, dude says he has to log it in or something and when they get there send it back. A few weeks later I call up and they tell me that it'll take a month for me to get a refund back (yes I called before) and I ask for her manager or a supervisor, she first says there's not one there then they're not around and then she gets one of her coworkers to act like the supervisor she came on and said (this is so and so's supervisor, but doesn't give me her name). And she says well she's absolutely right blah blah. I told her that I've been trying to get this taken care of and she said by our records this is the first time u've called blah blah. So me and her argue till I bust out the tmobile phone bill telling her what times I called. So she cops an attitude and says it will be refunded in a month probably longer. So I call back a 2 months later and get the same broad (the one that claimed she was the supervisior, yes that's what happends when you cop an attitude you get remembered). And I tell her I haven't recieved my refund and she say it was because of the vitamins and I told her I talked to the guy sent the stuff back and it's in the system, then she accuses me of stealing the vitamins and interogates me on times I received it and sent. And I'm like look if I don't get all my money back im going to file a lawsuit and have everyones butt, I have documentation of this whole ordeal. She tried to send me the money minus the shipping and I said no none of this was my fault your shipment was here in a few weeks insted of 4 days and you guys charged me for some vitamins I wasn't aware of I've been going through this for 3 months plus with people still trying to sell me stuff now give me my refund. Again she cops another attitude and says your money will be in your account in a day sir. Finally I get the funds back.

I tried the product because I had minor acne and believed the commercials of Jessica Simpson and Kelly Clarkson. Unfortunately, as soon as I got it home and started to use it, my face developed a giant rash. I continued to use it suffering through the pain, swelling, and reddness, and determined it just wasnt worth it! The only thing that I found to work was the after facial wash thing that allows you to put it on zits immediately. It bothers me that they didn't have anything to say about allergies or any other kind of reactions. I have 2 other friends who had the same response so I know it's not just me. Jessica and Kelly had me sold on it though!

I tried the Proactiv system for several months, giving it more than a fair chance. The only good thing I can say about it was that at least it didn't make my skin worse like some products have. I should add that I have yet to meet someone who has used Proactiv and had ANY results, let alone the drastic ones shown on the infomercial.

Stay away from Guthy-Renker!!! I ordered Pro-Activ in the fall of 2006, thinking that it was just a trial sample BEFORE I decided to buy into it. I was billed later for additional product even though I had not requested it. I cancelled the order but they kept on billing me. In short, my credit card company could do nothing except refund my account and give me a new credit card number, which I did. I got my money back except for the original product I used. This was my first and last experience with TV products. The worst part of this was that I started being billed for two other products; LeanRX and some other SMILE product. The credit card agent said that they knew that these were both scams and were pursuing legal action against them. I know the fraudulent billings had to do with Guthy-Renker and their outfit. I have had this credit card for over 15 years with no problems until them!! I tell everyone to stay away from Guthy-Renker!! I just with there were an infomercial for this website!!

I have never had bad acne, but I break out around that time of the month, so I thought I would try the Proactiv. I signed up online, hense the continued shipments and credit card charges, even AFTER I cancelled my card was billed 2 more times and I didn't even receive the packages. I emailed customer service and they claim that they never received the packages back...I paid for delivery confirmation and received it and they are saying they don't have them? The product didn't do anything but give me more pimples, worse than what I would get and more often. It made my face feel like sand paper and all dried out. I will stick to my Avon products from now on...at least they are 1/4 of the price and WORK! Don't waste your money!

Alright, i'm only 15 years old. I started ProActive when I was probably around 14. I had it for a month, maybe another 1-2, and beleive me, it DID NOT help. I thought, well hey, Jessica Simpson used it, Vanessa Williams, Kelly Clarkson, and you know, their gorgeous, why can't I be? Those stupid commercials- whenever they come on- i want to cry. I can't stand it! "Use Proactive Solution, what can you lose except blemishes?" Sorry, but you don't! Heck, i'm on a local Mary Kay facial cleanser right now and a acne pill, and that seems to be working SO much better... I really want to write a letter or something to the company and just get a word in- Proactive is not as great as they say it is. yes, you've seen people with before and after pictures- that's pretty much how i got into it... If you really look at all those celebrities, they didn't even have bad acne in the first place, so whats there to lose? I have so many friends and there families that say, yes, i've tried proactive and NO it DID NOT help.

This product is ok, but not as great as it claims. I had severe acne for most of my adolescence and tried Proactive when it first came out, it did nothing for me. I tried other various prescription drugs and finally saw some relief after being on Accutane. I had clear skin for several years after the Accutane, but started breaking out again at age 24, so I tried Proactiv again. It worked slightly better this time, probably because my acne was not so severe as it had been in the past. Honestly though, I still break out while using the product and I just went back to using Neutrogena products because neither one seems better than the other. Proactiv is NOT for severe cases of acne as they claim on the commercial. It seems ok for mild acne, but even so like I said Neutrogena works just as well and is less expensive.

My acne was okay and I wanted it to go away for good. I have tried a lot of other products and they helped but my acne still remains. I have tried toners, creams, pills, and face washes. So I thought since proactive is a system then maybe I should give this system a try. I'm 21 and I've had acne since I was 12, so that's almost half of my life. In the end I ordered the product and was very eager to use it. I tried for 6 months and thought I saw results. I was happy that I got it under control. However, the result didn't last. By the 3rd month my acne returned even though I continued my treatment. So my family doctor recommended for me to take some tetracyclin and see if that works. So I started the tetracyclin and stopped the proactive. It didn't help. After 6 months I decided to reactivate my proactive solution and result was not as fulfilling as the first time. I think my face adapted to the product. I was on a rollercoaster ride of horrible cases of breaking out and periods of reasonable control for over a year. My face was never clear when I was using only proactive. It helped but only a little. My best result was from using proactive and tetracyclin together. Even with that I still have dozens of pimples and huge blemishes on my face at all times. It wasn't until I found an acne specialist that I went off of proactive for good. I told him that I was on proactive and he said to me "finish off the bottle and cancel it". I asked him why and he told me that it's expensive and for the result you're getting it's not worth the investment. I asked then what can I do? so he prescribed a few things that I can use that will ease the acne and help calm the redness on my skin (for those who are curious I am using vitamin A acid liquid on my skin and antibiotic moisturizer) I've been proactive free for 2.5 years now and my skin have definitely improved. You might say that I've pass the active hormone age but I still break out. My skin is still red and I still get pimples, but it is not the same as the condition of my skin when I was on proactive. I recently went on a 2 months trip during the summer and was forced to stop the prescribed treatment and my acne was notably worst. It was almost as bad as pre-proactive period. I panicked and went to see my acne specialist when I returned and immediately got back on the treatment again. Now my face is relatively controlled and I have breakouts only when I'm stressed. Most of the time my face decently clear. So my conclusion about proactive is that it doesn't deliver and when it does it cost you way too much for the result. There are many cheaper solutions that can deliver equal/better result. Here's a tip to those who are on the system and not seeing the desired result, the only good thing in the system is their face wash (according to my specialist). He said to me (when I was still on proactive) to use only that, cancel my membership, and dispose of everything when the bottle finishes. I've never looked back on that decision. I am thankful that I have gotten rid of proactive, it was definitely not worth the investment.

I bought this product and actually liked it but what I have the problems with is what this products does to your towels and washcloths. They have a VERY SMALL warning on the label that it will cause items to bleach but barely are you able to see this warning. It has discolored all my brown and tan towels and washclohts and has even dripped on a few of my shirts while washing my face and has ruined them as well. Also, their shipping SUCKS!! Your supposed to get a new order every 60 days but I find myself running out LONG before the 60 days. Although they say 60 days. They will send it out 60 days later but it takes at least two or more weeks to get in the mail. Funny thing is when I placed my very first order I was shocked it came within 4 days of ordering. Now that I am sucked in,it takes actually close to almost 3 months for your next order to arrive because you have to allow at least two to three alone just for shipping!!!!
