Yes I am eighteen years old. I was very skeptical as to how this Proactiv Solution would work on my face and realized that its not all it claims to be. I say that because upon ordering it I never gave much consideration to me having very sensive skin. Benzoyl Peroxide I heard is a chemical that dries the skin, and in some cases studied in lab mice that it even causes cancer!!! To make a long story short I begun to experience an allergic reaction, eyes would burn terribly, although I know I never get the stuff into my eyes. Along with discovering my eyes burn, I also realize when I wake up in the morning that my eyes discharge and are red. The product is definetly a scam. I have discovered that johnson and johnson baby wash no tears, does the best thing for a person with sensitive skin, and just because a product has oil in it you can still use it. Just keep to the face washing and moisturize it with a light lotion..!

12/2006 I ordered a 'sample' kit from Proactiv 2/2007 I received another kit and called to ask why they sent it. They said when you order the sample you are automatically signed up for repeat shipments. I told them I would keep this one because I should have read the fine print, but I do not like the products, so do not send any more, they said ok. 7/2007 They sent another kit. I refused delivery, called the company, they said no problem, they will refund my money. by September I finally had my refund, so I thought everything was fine. Then 12/4/2007 - received bill from ProActiv for $31.85. That amount doesn't even match the amount that was billed for the returned product -- I don't know where this number came from. Bottom line, it is now 5/15/2008 and I am still battling this company. They say I owe them $31.85. I have called repeatly, and sent them a letter. I have now received 3 notices from a collection agency, who I have also called multiple times and sent them a letter, enclosing the original letter sent to ProActiv. Will this never end? Will I never be rid of ProActiv?

ive been using proactiv for about 6 months now and i havent had ANY problems whatsoever. maybe it works for certain skin types and has a major effect on others, but before proactiv, my skin was a disaster. now my skin is perfectly clear and i havent had any problems with skin/fabric bleaching, or itching or anything like that AT ALL. hearing all the 'horrific' stories about how bad this product is, is very unfortunate. but it worked for me and i think its worth a shot. you get your money back and if your not happy with the product. and if you use it one time, i doubt youll be scarred for life. but if you do, sue them already! obviously you would have others to back you up. so im saying maybe proactiv isnt for everyone. but it IS the product for me and alot of other people.

I ordered Proactiv for my daughter. It is very misleading because I didn't realize I would be getting a shipment every 2 months; but I thought, "no problem - I'll just cancel the so called membership." I had to first register online, but it asks for an account #. In the confirmation email they send you when you place an order there is no account # shown. There is no link or place on the site map that gives you on option of cancelling your "membership." Memberships like this usually provide a link in the emails they send you to cancel, but not Guthy-Renker. I was not impressed with the product and believe that if it worked as well as they claim, they would have no reason to make it this difficult to cancel their membership or return the product, although one of the biggest parts of the marketing campaign is: money-back guarantee & cancel at any time. They simply neglect to give you a way to do it. I won't do business with any company who doesn't legitimately stand behind their product...

I used Proactiv Solution a few years ago and wasn't very pleased with my results. I don't have what you call "acne" , but rather just a few annoying pimples here and there. I figured Proactiv would help my face become completely clear - like the people on the infomercials. . . NOT! After about a week of using this product I noticed I had a lot more pimples, not less. Also, the towels I used to dry my face after washing were spotted with what looked like bleach spots, as well as my pillowcase. So there I was, pimply AND I had just ruined a nice pillowcase and a few towels! I called an canceled my subscription to Proactiv - I ordered mine through QVC and they never charged my VISA again, so that was alright. As far as the bleaching of the face goes, I never noticed that since I am so pale anyways, but BEWARE of Proactiv, because, obviously, it DOES have some sort of bleaching agent in it. . . Just stick to regular face wash you can buy in the drugstore or see a Dermatologist - I can almost guarantee you'll be happier in the long run! =)

I feel that Proactive effected the skin shade and turned me to a whiter shade than my normal skin color. I compared it to the color of my arms that are darker. I read on line that the acid in the product can cause that reaaction and make your skin sun sensitive. I ordered from TV and felt that it work but also noticed pimples coming up in other areas after I used it. I personally feel burdock root and Milk thistle help the acne or pimples. Also reducing the stress in one's life helps tremendously. I feel my living situation has not helped and I have sensitive skin so shampoos or creme rinse I am selective. I feel the best solution is to see a dermatologist and I am also 51 and did not have much problems with acne or pimples hardly at all in my life. I have had very few until I went through menopause and hormonal fluctation occurred. I also feel that dairy, soy, and other foods may cause problems. I feel proactive is a hoax and the acids can cause damage to skin layers if continuely used it changes the skin chemistry I read this online from a medical report.

I started using Proactive about 2 months ago. I was really happy for about one month! The past month my face has turned into sh*t. Really! I am going to use it for one more month to see if it would get rid off these really nasty and huge pimples, cysts. That i have gotten with Proactive! My face was not as bad as it is right now! Don't use this product unless you want to worsten your acne!

Hi I ordered this product in july last year for about $74 just last week i recieved another pack with some products. They charged me another $74 So i wrote them and they said they will inactivate my membership. I never knew i joined any club? Its a shame they have to make money like this. So be aware maybe order with a prepayed credit card.

I have a similar experience to everyone here. I used the product 3 times, starting last night, and my face is extremely irritated and itchy. It could be allergic reaction, I don't know (that's what the customer representative told me) They offered me another trial kit that is for sensitive skin. I don't have bad acne either. Just a couple each month, but it was annoying. Anyways, I turned down the offer and then I found this page. I notice that people were having problem with the cancellation so I sent them an email just to make sure that I did cancel the membership. My friends that used proactive said that they have similar experiences as well. Should have listened to them when they said it's not going to work. Anyways, think really throughly before you decide to order this. My face is still really itchy and red... and really weird feeling. I had to take allergy medicine and my mom is taking me to see the doctor tomorrow... damn..

I've been using Proactiv Solution for a while. When I first started using it, my cheeks and neck burned sooo much! People said that they saw results but I wasn't and I was tired of scratching my irritated neck and face. I stopped using it for a while and decided to try it again. Overnight, my skin became the worst that it has ever been! My whole face was red and puffy and it burned all day. My neck was the worst part. My skin started peeling off and became red and swollen. I DO NOT suggest this product, especially for people with sensitive skin like me. Now, I have to pay a lot of money to go to a dermatologist and get back to my normal skin. My face was better off without Proactiv.

Proactiv is absolutely awful. I had a few pimples before it. Now I have huge red bumps ALL over my face, after using it for a month. It also completely bleached out my face, so not only do I have huge disgusting pimples, but I also have a pale face, which looks great with my tan body. NOT.

With proactive I experienced THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE in my whole life. I ordered on april 12th and after waiting 1 whole week and still seeing no charge in my online banking I called back to check on the status of the order. I was informed that the first of the 3 kits I'd ordered was shipped out on the 18th - a whole week later. Also they had no awareness of any other kits scheduled 4 delivery except for the one already "on its way". So, I let them know I had ordered a total of 3 kits and I get a confirmation everything is straightened out now. A week later I call back because I still don't see the 3rd charge in my account. Yet again it turned out there was no 3rd kit ordered from me. Completely pissed off I have to reorder again for my last kit. Sure enough 2 weeks after the first shipment I still don't get anything delivered so I call back to see what in the world their problem is. And what do I get - they had mistaken my mailing address - after having called 4 times already and stating my address every single time so they can access my account - there was a typo in my address. S o I get assured my actual items will be sent to my real address no later than May 19th!!! Excuse me!!! So I request to speak to a supervisor and there she is: Steffani B #1991 form the Bosie location, Idaho. I explain to her how I am preparing to send a package to relatives from outside the country and how I really need them to ship this kits to me in the fastest way possible because I can take no more waiting, so I basically ask for Express Shipment and Stefanni assures me that I'll get credited for all of the 3 kits I was charged for so far and also a kit for no chagre as an apology for the inconvenience. This is when I start wondering whether I speak to a retarded person because I never said I wanted to give up my items, I just wanted FAST SHIPMENT. Anyway, Steffani guarantees that she is placing the order now (Friday May 2nd) and that my 4 kits will be shipped out next Monday and I will get them by Federal Express either Wednesday or Thursday. So everything seems relatively ok, but I can't trust these guys anymore so next Tuesday I call FedEx and ask them to run a check for my mailing address to see if anything is being shipped at all. No, nothing at all! The first proactive representative I reach explains that my items are actually shipped already by regular mail so I'll get them in 2 to 3 weeks. What!!!! I went crazy and she had the lack of professionalism to hang up on me. Next I get put through to Megan in South Lake City and her supervisor Kelsey who rejects to provide me with her customer service representative number (she is not authorized to give out such information). Kelsey, darling, who are you trying to deceive this time? Why are you afraid to identify yourself. The thing with Kelsey was that she was extremely rude, not seeming to understand that I need help with my totally messed up order AND constantly opposing everything I said... Why are you even a supervisor Kelsey form South Lake City? So Kelsey can't help me so I get her supervisor - Terla. Well, honestly, my experience with her indicated the TOP END IMPROFESSIONALISM in my entire life! It turns out my items are still in their warehouse ready to be shipped out "any moment" - yeah right - at 6pm. Thank you very much Steffani B 1991! As a supervisor supervisor I expected Terla to tell me why all the representatives keep telling me wrong things, why AREN'T account managers (or the actual supervisors) trained well enough to let me know on the whole process of sending kits and such.. Well - dead end, Terla kept saying she was not the person who messed up things so she doesn't know. Terla, I am perfectly aware you are not these persons but you are their manager so why can't u just go ahead and find out what's wrong? At my request to get a confirmation number for my FedEx shipment Terla said she doesn't have it and she cant find it out. She also rejected to give me the # I can call to reach their Shipment Department. At my question why my address was mistaken after me having stated it 4 separate times, Terla was impertinent enough to answer: "Because it was mistaken!" You know what Terla form South Lake - you provide such an appalling service I don;t even know how you are still keeping your job! You took helping me out personally, eventually stopped talking to me and even hung up on me - is that what they train you to do Terla? You're just miserable! Anyway - thank you so much Proactive for all the INCONVENIENCES and nerves I wasted on you! I even went ahead and told my bank to change my atm card number - I wanted to make sure no monthly charges will be applied later - I had enough with Proactive! AND AS TO YOU JESSICA SIMPSON - BE GRACEFUL ENOUGH TO COME OUT AND TELL EVERYBODY WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP PROACTIVE IS, SHAME ON YOU FOR SHOOTING THAT COMMERCIAL!

I got the product to clear up my acne . The first couple days it was great. Then slowly my face started to dry up. Then came the cystic acne (which I had before but never this bad). Then I noticed the brown towel I used to dry my face had what appeared to be bleach spots all over it. Once I realized the proactive was causing my towel to become bleached I stopped using the product. THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS BLEACH. My face has never looked this bad now I need to find a way to fix it.

I recently had a horrible experience with Proactive Solutions. For sometime I had been wanting to try the product because of the results I saw on there Television Infomercials. On my way to work I heard they where offering a free trial meaning you still have to pay and you would be reimburse if your not happy with the results. Because of the free trial I decided to try out Proactive Solutions. After one week of using Proactive I began to break out severely as a pose to my skin clearing from acne. It also caused me to grow deep and huge black heads in which I had never experienced before. I've never had such bad acne in my life. It was literally disgusting. After almost three weeks of using Proactive I felt more like the before picture than the after picture results on the Proactive infomercials. After getting black heads I discontinued using Proactive. My Dr. prescribed an acne solution that cleared my acne within one week including the black heads. I am still recovering from the scars due to using Proactive. In the long run not only is Proactive more expensive but unsuccessful for it's purpose. Over the counter acne washes sold at your local convenient stores have better results. Proactive should be banned from being sold an ruining peoples faces. In conclusion, DO NOT USE PROACTIVE !!!

I never had really bad acne, like most of the people on the board I had sporadic breakouts. I am suppose to be getting married soon and I wanted to make sure my skin looked great. I talked with the lady at the Proactiv Kiosk and she said that it worked great for sensitive skin (which I have). I started using it and three days later my face was red, blotchy, itchy, and swollen. I guess I wasallergic to something in the treatment. I should have known better than to change my face treatment before my wedding, because a month later my skin is still red, blothcy, and a little swollen. I am getting married in a week and instead of feeling like a gorgeous bride, I have a blotchy, red, and swollen face. I have gotten some cortisone cream from the doctor that is helping a little, but I don't think it will be enough to put my face back to how it was before I used Proactiv in time for my wedding. Luckily I have a fiance who is wonderful and says I will be beautiful no matter what, but it sure doesn't feel that way to me.

i've had slight acne on my forhead for a while, so when i saw jessica simpson, alicia keys, and diddy selling this (what i thought to be an) amazing product for such a low price, i begged my mom to buy it for me. my acne wasn't bad, but i thought that such a strong cool product would get rid of it faster. well, my proactive came in two nights ago, and i was excited to use it before i went to bed. immediately after my first use, my skin began to itch and burn! its two nights later, and my whole face is itchy, red, bumpy and irratated! my mom now has to make me an appointment with a dermatologist, and i'm having to cope with the fact that the skin on my face feels like its on fire! i have to wear silk gloves at night just so i dont scar my face for life by scratching in my sleep! proactive is torture!! DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

ProActiv does not work! I was fortunate enough not to have had acne in my teens (I'm 25 now). I do have occasionnally a few zits here and there before having my period. I had 6 zits on my face and it prompted me to buy the product. I know that 6 isn't over dramatic but I never have more than 2 so I got freaked out. I ordered ProActiv and it made my skin better the first 3 days, I was truly amazed by the product. I decided to continue the treatment and that's where all the problems started. It made my combination skin super oily and I started breaking out more than ever before. My 6 year old niece even asked me once why my skin had gotten so super shiny. Then zits continue to appear, it was like having acne. I immediately stopped the treatment and went back to my regular face cleanser. Within a week, my face was back to normal. All my ProActiv products are back in the box and to hell with them! Please, stay away from this. I wish I had seen this website before considering buying. This product is good for garbage!

I ordered the "Proctive Solution" (Guthie Ranker)they said that they would bill my credit card when it shipped but two weeks after my credit card was billed no products arrived. I called and found out they had my infomation wrong mainly my zip code. When I called they said that they would fix the error and send me more solution. The whole time on the phone it seemed they were more interested in selling me other products then making sure that I got what I had paid for. I made a second attempt to fix the errant zip code on their web site and it said the new changes would take affect in a couple of days. The changes never did take affect. I called again and their sales people said they would reimberse my credit card and then start the whole process over again with the new zip code and that would take place in a couple of days. Two weeks later I had no reimbersment to my credit card and no product. I called a third time this time the sales person said that they checked with the post office and confirmed that my zip code was correct as they had it. I assured them that I have been living in my place for years and that they had the incorrect zip code. I then requested for them to please please cancel my order. Funny thing was that even while angrily canceling my order they were still trying to sell me additional procucts. They billed my credit card and recieved money for products that I never received! I have since purchased a simular product to theirs in the mainstreem grocery stores. If their procuct is so good why do they insist on this repeditve billing scheme. I oreder many things online but you cannot even order online from them with out first calling to talk to a pushy sales representitive over the phone.
