I ordered Sheer Cover about 4 months ago and had nothing but bad experiences. I wouldn't recommend this product. It isn't worth your money, time and hassle. If you have already received your first month supply of this product and you don't like it, I recommend that you call and cancel right away so you don't run into all the mess I have run into. The three month supply is going to cost you way more then it is worth and when you return it you still have to pay for all three months as it takes them 4 to 6 weeks to process the return. Save yourself the trouble and don't fall all that Sheer Cover claims.

I saw the infomercial on Sheer Cover mineral makeup a few months ago and it seemed like nice makeup. I liked the idea of mineral makeup and wanted to try it out. It was only a $37 trial kit and it would ship it again at whichever intervals I chose. I chose 8 weeks so that I would have time to decide to cancel or continue.<br />
<br />
I decided I was going to cancel, but forgot to do it until we saw the bill for $29.95 on our bank account online. We called immediately to cancel the account. The girl we spoke to with customer service was nice and did not argue or try to coax me into keeping the product. All she asked was the reason for wanting to cancel, which I stated was the price (I didn't say anything about being unhappy with the product because I didn't want her to try and get me to stay, offer anything free or anything. I just wanted to cancel my membership).<br />
<br />
She said that the product was showing that it had not yet been shipped but that if it ships anyway, to write "Return to Shipper" on the box and we would be refunded.<br />
<br />
I ended up getting the box and saw that we had still been charged. I was curious as to what made the box a little heavier, and curiosity got the best of me and I opened the box (all makeup products were larger-sized and there was a tiny, poofy "free gift" brush [a $40 value!!! according to SC]). I figured I'd just keep it since they'd already billed us anyway and I didn't really have time between packing for our move and cleaning our apartment for moving to go drop it in a mailbox. <br />
<br />
I guess somehow it didn't occur to me that if they were a larger size it wasn't because the other kit was just a trial, it was because it would be more expensive. However I did not read anything in my shipment stating anything about it getting more expensive than the $30/shipment in the full-sizes and the girl on the phone when we called to cancel did not say anything at all about it being more expensive this time, so I didn't think a whole lot about it.<br />
<br />
Big mistake. Maybe if I'd read the fine print I may have been able to save myself, but we just called Sheer Cover to find out why they just billed us another $30, and the lady on the phone (we got a rude one this time) informed us that the product we were sent last month, the larger sizes, was a $90 product!! Yeah the lady last time was nice, but she did NOT tell us that if we did not send the product back it would be ANOTHER $60 charged to our account. <br />
<br />
Maybe we could have saved ourselves out of close to $100 worth of makeup that isn't worth the money if we'd asked more questions or maybe if I'd read every single word written in fine print or something. However, I feel that they should have been honest and up-front about the whole thing in the first place rather than making people think they would only be charged $30 per shipment.<br />
<br />
BE WARNED - the $37 initially is only the first trial product. They will then ship out the larger-sized products at whichever interval you choose, but you will then be charged $90 (3 payments of $30) for that product and every other shipment of the kit you receive thereafter.<br />
<br />
Now, as far as the product itself goes, I do not recommend it. It's not BAD makeup, but it's not that good either, certainly not worth $90. Makeup you can buy at any drug store or Wal-Mart will be money better spent, at least in my opinion. Sheer Cover's concealer works pretty well but it definitely DOES look cakey and greasy, which it says it doesn't. Maybe if you have something you really need covered, like a birth mark or something, it might be worth it to you, but for just every day, normal coverage purposes, I don't feel it's worth it. It's nothing special.<br />
<br />
I do like the powder makeup, but again I don't feel it's anywhere near being worth the money. None of their products I've received have been worth the money, though it was nice to get an extra few good-quality makeup brushes to use.<br />
<br />
Overall, I say save your money and buy something else. Or if you're trying to cover something up like acne pimples (like myself), buy the facial washes or kits (i.e. ProActiv, Acne Free, Neutrogena, etc. whatever works for you) that are worth their prices, and get rid of the problem rather than cover it up. It's a lot more affordable, much more worth the money, and a lot more attractive. <br />
<br />
I do not recommend the product, but I DO recommend being aware of what you're getting yourself into if you do choose to try the product out. I wish I had.

On March 4th, I received what I thought were two introductory kits of Sheer Cover, one for me and one for my daughter. I had been billed $27.95 for the kits plus shipping. The makeup was okay, but when I looked at the invoice, I just about had a heart attack. I was going to be charged $207 and some change in 4 monthly installments. So I called the company and asked what was going on. I was told that I had ordered a 90-day supply and that was the price-$99 each. I told him I would be returning the kits, to cancel my account and I expected a refund of all my money. Here it is, 2 months later and I am still being billed. I returned the products Certified Mail and yet they claim they only received one. They sent them to me in one box, I sent them back the same way. In the meantime, I started doing some math. Now I teach English and have never been a math genius, but if I paid $9.99 for each kit and they are valued at $99.99, why would I have been billed for over $200 to keep them. I started reading the fine print. It said I could try the product for $9.99 and if I liked it, I would be billed the full price. I wish I would've read that better before I clicked the button. Who in their right mind would pay a company 10 bucks to try it and then pay the full price on top of that? Pretty clever wording there, ya crooks! I was told all was straightened out last week and I should have my refund in 3-5 days...I guess I won't hold my breath. If anyone is suing these scammers, please let me know.

I have very fair skin and I tried this. The stsrter product was way too orange. Stupid me - instead of cancelling I decided to try the lighter complexion products (that aren't offered with the starter kit). I didn't realize I was getting set up in a regular shipping to your home program. I changed the frequency to 16 weeks. The amount of makeup you get for the $ is ridiculous. Don't get sucked in!

No I have not use this product but what I wanted to report was that I have order items through Guthy-Renker before and they are a nightmare to deal with. You cannot get them to stop billing you months after you have tried to stop mailings. I would suggest anyone who wants to order any product through this company to do so knowing you cannot cancel future shipments without at lease 4 months of work to do so, no I'm not kidding. if that's not a problem for you then go ahead and order. I was going to try this product until I realized it was through Guthy-Renker and my past experience made me stop. If you want a product just like they advertise, order "Bare Minerals" this is also sold in ULTA Stores and it's great.

I seen the advert for Sheer Cover and thought I would give it a try as I dont wear make-up very often so I thought, "well if im going to buy make-up I may as well buy a good decent make-up that dosent feel all caked on my face"! So I made the order on the 1st April 08 so I could try the 30day trial and I had nothing to loose if I didnt like it, I eventually recieved it on the 24th April 08, however, I wasent that pleased with the product and it's certainly isnt what it's made out to be like! Anyway I paid for the product and then not even 2 weeks later I recieved another package which had the larger Sheer Cover powder's, the conceler and the cleanser with the mosturiser, also baring in mind the woman who took my orded on the phone gave me the offer to recieve this monthly at a payment price of £19.95 but I said "no thanks as I want to wait and see how the product is before I order anymore. So as I said I opened the 2nd package I just recieved only to find inside the 90day Sheer Cover contents kit, what stunned me the most was the invoice that was with it, it was £65.80! I couldnt believe it as I was puzzled just the day before when I went to the bank to find that I only had £10 left but I thought that I had over spent when I went shopping with my two kids and whats worst they have already taken this from my bank account WITHOUT INFORMING ME FIRST! when I spoke to the woman who had taken my order in the first place I asked her "when it's time for next monthes delivery will I definatley get a letter or some sort of confirmation as to wether I would want the next delivery of Sheer Cover or not", she replied to me "yes Miss O'Donnell, you will definatley get a letter asking if you were happy with your 30day Sheer Cover kit and if I would like the next order BEFORE taking the money of my bank account"! Obviously I trusted what this woman had said to me especially with it being a product by GUTHY-RENKER which I expected to be a very trusting company! Obviously I wrong. It's now the weekend which this is when iv recieved this 2nd packege and I cant call them as their office hours are only open from 9am-5pm Mon-Fri! I am extremley annoyed at this as im supposed to get a 30day trial and iv only had the chance to try this product 3 times, I didnt get any notice of the next delivery and they have taken all that money out my bank account without my permission. I have two children who I need to support and due to this scam scandal I have NO money in my bank to get things that not only my kids and I need but also for other important things which is much more needed than make-up which isnt even all that is made out to be! Not only that but im getting charged from my bank because Sheer Cover has taken all the money out that I needed to pay my t.v licence with throught direct debit also and my Virgin t.v and internet bill! <br />
This is extremley dissapointing especially being a single mother with 2 kids, I put my trust in your company and iv been let down in a very big way!<br />

I ordered the product for myself was not too satisfied. Although I loved the lipgloss. My eldest daughter wanted to try it since she has oily skin. They sent a much larger size and I canceled the day I got it yet they attemped to charge me the very next month. They said I bought the 3 mnth promo. I read every little line to ensure this could be immediately cancelled with no further charges due. I told them to provide me proff for which I knew they had none. After receiving a credit - ready for a fight, I cancelled my credit card to make sure I was not charged again. What a rip off - the company so respect that when a customer says cancel - ITS CANCEL.

I tried the 30day money back guarantee. I Was very specific that this was a trial for me and they should not charge my card for the following month's order. My card was charged and the product mailed to me. I mailed back the product and my bank credited my acct back. Now sheercover is still saying I owe them $67 and they have sent me to collections. I am so frustrated right now. This is daytime robbery. How do they get away with these things? will I have to pay $67.00 for a product I don't even have? who can help me?

I ordered the trial kit last fall and also some customized product over the course of about 6 months. I gave them my credit card # and saw that charges were appearing on my credit card from them. More expensive than what the ad had said, but I like the convenience. Then I start getting notices in the mail that I haven't paid them, when I have paid them! I call and tell the rep to please put all charges on my credit card as I originally authorized. I'm not sure what these charges are for, but just put them on my card. He says fine. I think it's all taken care of. Today, several weeks later, I get a collection agency notice, saying that I owe them $105 and that their "many attempts to collect" have not been satisfied! I called Sheer Cover today and got a cold-voiced woman who said that customer service couldn't do anything about it, that I would have to wait for the billing dept to call me in 5 days or so. When I asked for a number so that I could call the billing department directly, she said that that would not be possible. This is crazy! They're ruining my credit record when all they had to do was put the charge on my card as I authorized them to do. I guess they're so busy scamming people that they can't take the money when it is being offered to them. I see from this website that I am not the only one who has suffered from their billing ineptitude. Sheer Cover is indeed a SCAM.

I ordered the Sheer cover online through their website (stupidly), instead of buying from [ ] (hindsight is always 20/20). Anyway, I was charged the 37.50 just as it says on their website for my introductory set. Got the set, used a little of it, and not even a month later I get another set and another 29.95 taken out of my bank account. I thought they would be sending a kit every 3 months, not every 30 days! So I checked my account and it says I'm scheduled for every 8 weeks delivery. Now, I'm a little upset and figure I'll just cancel this home delivery thing because I don't like the product that much, nor do I need new product every 30 days! So I go online and there is absolutely nowhere to go to cancel your membership. I then tried to email customer service to cancel my membership, who sent me a computer generated response saying that they can cancel my membership and some other info on how great the home delivery system is for Sheer Cover. I thought I was done with this and when I checked my account once more, I found that another delivery is "on time", even though it says I had the every 8 week delivery! Not to mention that before I canceled it, my next delivery date was for June? I finally found an area on their site that says "to cancel anytime, call customer service at...". I was on the phone with this moron for 35 minutes. First he tells me, Yes I see you paid the 37.50 intro price, then we sent you another month's worth and you paid 29.95. I said yes that's correct and now I want to cancel my membership because you lied to me and sent me a kit in 30 days, not the 3 months or even 8 weeks. He says okay. After about 20 minutes, and talking with a "senior supervisor", he tells me that I originally owed 103.00!! Now, I am furious. I told him there is nowhere on their website when you order the product that says anything about a 90.00 charge!! I told him if you try and take the money out of my bank account I will not authorize the charge and I will fight it. I also asked how many other people they have done this to and how many just said "eh, it's only another 30 or so dollars" and just pay it?He tells me that in order to clear this matter up I need to fax in a copy of my bank statement as proof of payment!! I said absoluley not, and you just told me 15 minutes ago that you had my account on your screen and it said I had paid 2 payments. After telling him again that I will not pay any more money to this company, I hung up and checked my account (which is still open) and I wrote another note to customer service explaining what just happened on the phone with a customer service rep. They sent me another email and this time it has the part about the 90.00 charge in it? This company is such a scam! This is probably how [ ] made all her money off this crap! I don't like being taken advantage of, I don't like paying for a product I am not receiving, and I don't like scam companies. I do think they should have a class action lawsuit taken out on them. Next I will just go to [[!

Well, almost 3 weeks ago I ordered this product online from the website, I got the starter kit advertised at 29.99, 35something with shipping and handling (this is in USD and I live in Canada)The charge on my VISA bill was about 41something which seemed about right untill I noticed it was not 41 dollars Canadian but US - maybe more shipping charges? I also became suspicious when I recieved an email saying they were out of stock a few days after placing my order and decided to do some research online finding this website and all the horror stories it contains. the next day I was informed that my order was being shipped via priority mail within 24 hours. Still though after seeing this website I was worried and went to the site to immediately cancel the automatic shipments. I became very concerned when I saw that there was no way to cancel the shipments, only change the frequency of them which had been set for me at every 4 weeks. I changed this to every 16 weeks (the longest wait option available) and changed my credit card information to jibberish although I'm sure they have the real info on file. Immediately after changing my frequency I recieved an email saying I had switched it to every 16 weeks, but not from every 4 weeks... it had actually been set to ship EVERY SINGLE WEEK!!! Who needs that much makeup!? Panic stricken from all the stories I had just read and worried I was going to recieve 3 at once like some of you had I immediately called the 800 number to cancel my membership and any future shipments. The phone only rang a few times and the girl who took my call was very polite and only asked me if I was sure I wanted to cancel my membership once. I said yes but if I like the product I will certianly order again and was straight forward telling her I had become concerned after reading numerous complaints online that their company was a scam. I also made her assure me that I would not be billed for anything more than what I had already paid and that no more merchandise would be sent to me. I read some more stories and decided to call again just to be sure, I got a different Girl and she assured me all the same as the first: that my account had been canceled, I would not be billed further or sent any more products. I took down both girls names and the times of the calls and the date just in case. I also tried to log in again on the website and was pleased to find my account had indeed been canceled. Now I am just waiting for the product to show up but am worried it may never come and they will try to jerk me around when I call and ask where it is saying "you don't have an account with us". Hopefully all is well since I called to cancel almost 2 weeks after my package was "supposedly" shipped but only time will tell. I am hopeful though because everyone I dealt with was polite and accomodating, or at least pretended to be. Best of luck to all you struggling with these scumbags and you will definately hear from me again when and if I ever get my sheercover, and especially if I don't get it.

I too experienced many of the same tactics that I have read from other people. I had used Bare Minerals first, and am still a bit allergic (my skin is so sensitive) so thought I'd try Sheer Cover. All of the celebrity endorsements helped, I thought that if the product was that prevalent in Hollywood, it should be good. I wasn't all that impressed, it was ok, but since it was no better than the stacks of Bare Naturals I have I sent it back. I did know it was an auto ship club. The same DAY that I order my intro shipment, I called twice to state that I didn't want a follow up shipment because of my allergies and have a way of becoming allergic eventually to a product that I can initially use. So if I find something, I use it very sparingly and rarely so I can use it when I really need to- a wedding or something. Anyway, used it a little, sent it back and cancelled - the third time. The next month I get another package. I sent that back and cancelled the fourth time. The next month no package but another charge on my credit card. By then I was furious, and yea, yelled at whoever I spoke with. After threatening reporting them to the Interstate Coommerce Commission, they finally got their act together and I got all my money back, except the first shipping charge to and from me. All of these stories are just tooo similar for these to be coincidence. There's got to be a deliberate scam for sure. I was about to order the $9.95 trial kit, but the conditions are that website are worse than the $29.95 website. Then I found this site and forget them forever. Good riddance.
