Im a huge fan of makeup. Although, I only wear foundation, blush, and mascara. When I saw on TV and on the website that this powder was so light and makes your skin look flawless, i was convinced. SO, i went to the website and bought the 30 day trial kit. I didnt want the trial kit to begin with, i wanted just the powder but you have to buy the 30 day trial in order to make any other purchases. Thats just one of my complaints! THEN, I recieve my shipmet in the mail. I opened the pretty little bag that my accesories were in and I pulled out my 2 powders. I was ticked. The powder that they sent me is supposed to be a 30 day supply, but it looked to me as if it was barely even a WEEK supply. UGH! On the website it said I was supposed to recieve studio brushes to apply my powder, but I recieved none. The only brush that I owned was my blush brush. In order for me to apply the mineral powder, i had to wash my blush brush in the sink so that I wouldnt be applying blush all over my face. After I applied my powder, my face looked decent. I had gotten better results with powders from local drugstores though. Within about a half hour I checked in the mirror to see if I needed a touchup and my face looked disgusting. My face was SOOOO oily. It looked like i just rubbed vaseline all over my face! I didnt even bother to "touch up". I just washed my makeup off and applied some of my cheap [] makeup and had no problems the rest of the day. I wouldnt waste your money on this product. $30.00 for a 30 day trial which gives you BARELY any powder is a waste. Then even though you bought just the trial version, you will recieve un-wanted shipments of more makeup. Your credit card will be charged without notice. It's all just a comeplete waste and I would very much suggest trying products from [] line of []. or just purchase makeup from a local drugstore that will work 10x better than this sheer cover crap.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I'm a big fan of [], and thought this was a comparable product. It's not. I wanted to try it for the great advertised price, like many of you. The advertised price is misleading and the product is sub-par. Customer Service is horrible. The brushes they provide are not dense enough to be useful, the concealer is oily and only lasts about an hour, and the foundation offers coverage comparable to a tinted moisturizer. Also, I am a red-head and they do not have a shade light enough for my skin. Both they sent me were VERY YELLOW or VERY RED; unnatural colorings. Please listen to the advice of the folks on this page and do not make the same mistake we did. Anyone in defense of this product has never found a good foundation. Try [] if you want a mineral foundation, or [] for a liquid. Both can be purchased in a store where you have an opportunity to try it out before making a purchase!!!

This was a joke. It didn't cover any of my flaws. I am 48 years old and in my teens, I had acne and blemishes. I really thought I was going to get something that really worked. WAS I WRONG! I called and canceled and they told me I would still be billed for the last two shipments even though I was not going to receive another package. That is crazy. People really need to watch what they buy and like other women, this was the first time I had ever ordered from a commercial. Never again will I make that mistake again!

I made the last entry, but part of it was left out. Maybe I should try it this way: I have been a long time customer of Bare Minerals, not Sheer Cover. I do not recommend Sheer Cover to anyone, and was simply giving my opinion of a much better product to try (Bare Minerals).

My story is much like the others I've read. I ordered the kit and was charged the introductory price. Just like everyone else, I didn't agree to a 90-day supply. Like some others, I have been a long-time [] customer. I tried this product to see if it was as good. The only thing in the kit that I liked, or even used more than once, was the two shade cover-up. I too, received another kit and had to pay the shipping costs to return. Even after all that, I still wanted to order some more cover-up, but was disappointed to learn that the only way to receive it was to start the entire process over again. Take my advice, if you really want to try a good mineral make-up, order []. It is an excellent company and an excellent product.

This is a scam!!! After seeing the infomercial I tried to order it for my sister as a birthday gift. I was trying to order a kit at the advertised price of $29.95 with expedited shipping and handling and a free gift, just like I was watching on TV while I was on the phone placing the order. Well, they asked for my credit card number right away and ahead of the order. Then, they are were extremely aggresive and tried to sell me a lot of products and automatic refill packages, I told them I was only interested in the kit/offer I saw on TV for 29.95. Then, I was told that the $29.95 offer was for people that signed up for the club only, if I didn't sign up for the club contract then my order would be $59.95. This is a scam, please do not fall for it. I can't believe Alyssa Milano and Leeza Gibbons want their name associated with this scam. I will try Bare Minerals (Bare Escentuals), I heard that is a real company.

I ordered the product and after reviewing all the complaints I got really upset, I can't afford to be scammed! I called to cancel and they said I had to wait 48 hrs??? by then I figured it would be shipped and I would be charged anyways. I told her I wasn't happy with the reviews and she said I was skeptical when I ordered it for my daughter to, but PRO-ACTIVE really works for her??...I said this is Sheer Cover (silence)...I said proactive is a blemish product and sheer cover is a make-up product (silence)... I said Hello?? (it was like you expect to hear birds like in the movies)..Finally a response from the operator...oh yeah, did I say Proactive, I use both products, lol! Wow, first it was for her daughter and now she uses both...and she still wouldn't refund my money yet. I better not get charged for this product I am trying to cancel! So sad when they have people like Leeza, Melissa Gilbert, Alyssa Milano...ect working the scam (those people have enough money, whereas working people like us can't afford to be scammed by even and infomercial!) Keep your fingers crossed for me!!

I ordered the product, hated it, and my account was billed, they sent me a bill in the mail indicating it was my 2nd notice and if I don't pay they will discontinue sending me the product. I received another order in the mail on 6/13/08 (which I did not want) also I received another bill (3rd Notice) in the amount of $127 I immediately put that bill in with the order that came and sent it back via UPS.

Okay, I've got this product and I HATE it. The commerical said it was only 19.95 or w/e and when I called to order it...They told me it was going to be 70. I was fine with that bc this "miracle" makeup was worth it. HOWEVER, it complety sucks it feels all chalky and makes my face even more oily....this porduct sucks...

Same as almost all of the stories below, I was charged again for this product although I already called to cancel the membership. They said they will refund me my money once they received the product back. All in all, the processing could take anywhere within 4-6 weeks. Isn't it ridiculous to have my money withheld for a month something that I did not order? Very disappointed. Also, I feel that their product is secondary to other brand of mineral products. The minerals are not as consistent as the other brand, thus the "melting-face" syndrome.

6/10/2008 - Britney writes:
This product is horrible! I have an oily T-zone and I was told that mineral make-up would help. It doesn't! At least this doesn't; It makes me appear as if my face is literally melting off. Then I have to apply it throughout the day just to have decent coverage THEN It looks like I have too much on! I was on a date and my boyfriend actually told me "It looks like your face is melting" How embarrasing is that!?

This was the first product I have ever bought from an informercial. And man do I regret it. I was only 18 when I bought it; therefore, I did have blemishes that I was hoping the product would cover. But no, THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK. Like various people have said, do not order it just thinking it could be good enough. It isn't. Your face will not look like the women on the informercial, it will look the same if not worse than it would with make-up you buy at your local drugstore. I prefer the makeup I buy at Wal-Mart a million times more than this prduct. The customer service is also another letdown with this product. I called several times to try and cancel it, yet they continued to charge me for it. It was such a WASTE OF MONEY. If you are planning on purchasing this product, trust everyone and their complaints. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

My story: I bought the product after it was advertised awhile. When I saw Melissa Gilbert advertise this product, I finally bought it. At that time I paid over $125.00 for everything. The makeup and vitamins. Now they are selling this product for $29.95 and I was scammed out of at least $70.00. I am extremely upset because I am on a budget and am a senior citizen wanting to look better in order to get a job. I hope something will be done with this company.

Bad business! They say it is a $10 trial offer and then send you this tiny kit and charge you $115 for it! For $115 you can buy REAL makeup!

this product has done nothing for me, looks like I'm playing with little play make-up. my face looks the same, and when I wear it, it looks like I have a thick, mask on, feels so greasy, and uncomfortable. I cancelled, my order. and the vitamins, why didn't they tell me I would be getting vitamins?? help!! who do I trust.

I ordered Sheer Cover in early May. Was billed the $38.00 one week before the product arrived. Loved the product. Its a shame I read this site after recieving it. Called to change my next order and they told me that I cannot use the online account managment because Its not for canadians No one told me this before!. However I had nightmares after reading these comments and called to cancel. On hold for not even one minute at the 1-800-927-0176 number and notified the lady that I was recording and she said it was ok. She cancelled my account and took me off the mailing list in less than 3 minutes. I immidiatly called my credit card company and put notes on my accounts that I have cancelled today gave them her name and ID# as a conf# so If they bill me again I have evidence for investigation and credit. Hopefully this all works. It was not a headache at all! But after reading these comments I think I shall stick with brand names in the malls! Good luck to others in process to cancel. RECORD THE CALL it scares them!

I ordered the product on-line. I received a notification that it was back ordered. I called and cancelled the order, I still received the order in the mail anyway. I had to pay for the postage to send the order back. Several weeks later I receive yet another order in the mail. The customer service sucks and they dont speak english. Now I have to send yet another order back. Do not order this product, dealing with customer service is a nightmare and the product itself isnt worth the money. Coverage isnt very good and the cases the foundation comes in are only 1/2 full. If you like mineral foundation, spend the extra money and buy the other product!!! Mary

My story: I was watching the informercial one morning and decided to call since "it would only be $9.99". When I called, the man on the phone (who spoke very little english, except to ask a million duplicate questions) kept me on the phone for 30 minutes! He was asking me questions about other products I might enjoy and if I wanted to buy those too. I was soooo frustrated and kept saying, "ok...really...I just want the makeup. No membership. no magazines. No vitamins. No upgrade. JUST my makeup". 30 Minutes on the phone...I was so frustrated I almost hung up. Finally, I begged him to stop with the questions and to just get to the end of the phone call. 3 MONTHS later, nothing yet. I called to ask where my products were and she said, "we have no record of that transaction". I was so angry and said, "I was on the phone for 30 minutes...are you serious???" and she said, "What do you want? Are you looking to get it for free or something?" (HUH!?!?! I already paid for it...and now you accuse me of trying to scam YOU??". Finally she said, "ok...enough...I will send it to you for free". I received my item and actually liked the product....but it really is not worth the frustration. I would rather go on Ebay and buy the individual pieces there. At least I know I will not find "surprise" fees on my credit card.

DO NOT EVER BUY THIS PRODUCT!! First of all, they advertise the 30-day supply and suck you into a 90-day supply over the phone (so just be careful as to which one you are actually ordering, but my advice is to not order anything from them ever). Also, they are very unreliable when it comes to shipping orders. Even though the company is all mail-order, they do not track their shipments, shipment costs are high, and shipment times are rather long (usually 3 weeks for $9.95). I have used the product for awhile, and the foundation is okay for me, but it is only really helpful if I also use the concealer. I have already found a better product I will be switching to because they keep messing up my shipments and have disregard for their mistakes. When I contacted them because it had been over a month since they supposedly sent my scheduled shipment, they decided to send a replacement shipment. I asked how long it would take, and they said another 2-3 weeks. I asked why I could not get quicker shipping, and they said I would have to re-order and ask for another shipping option and PAY for it! After they messed up more than once (this was not the first time), they expected ME to bear the burdens and costs of their mistakes. They had already charged me for the shipment, and then they charged me TWO more times before they ever gave me a credit! It was ridiculous and any time I tried to complain that I was getting charged too much, they gave me the runaround. DO NOT EVEN TRY THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORTH IT. EVEN IF YOU THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW GOOD IT IS IF THE COMPANY CAN NEVER SEND YOU THEIR PRODUCTS CORRECTLY BUT WILL STILL CHARGE YOU!!! Their customer service sucks, and I was also disappointed with the product--I do not believe it lived up to the advertisement at all! Please beware.

I am 47 and I was getting some horrible blotchy redness and flaking on my face when I drank coffee, ate spicy foods, or tasted red wines. It was embarrassing. I was on vacation in Hilton Head and I saw the infomercial about sheer cover. What prompted me to call and order was that the model said she could cover a port wine stain on her face with the product. I ordered it. It did cover my issues beautifully. As a matter of fact, my issues went away. My sister and my best friend want to know what's different because they say my skin looks so much younger and better. I love this stuff. What I don't love is how minerals in general go all over the front of my shirt when I put it on, but I just typically put my shirt on last now. Don't be afraid to order this. It's good stuff and I'm hooked.
