My husband and I were discussing our crappy Six Star knife set tonight which is how I ended up on this site. After this post, I want to go to the website and read the lifetime warranty information, if it's posted anywhere on their site.
These knives took forever to get, along with endless phone calls until we finally received them months after ordering them. Within a year, the knives were dull and no amount of sharpening would help. EXCEPT for the bread knife! This knife not only slices through Kaiser rolls like a hot knife through butter, but also does a job on the fingers! (We had an emergency room trip for my poor husband while he was slicing a roll!)
I was really glad to read some of your postings - though most of them were poorly written and difficult to read due to numerous spelling and grammatical errors.

i order the knife set from inofmercial. I had them since Sept.2008. I have called several times with promises each time. The knives started rusting right away. Stainless Steeel is on knives which stainless does not RUST. I was charged douple for s&H
and now they want more money to ship more knives which I do not want. How can you get to this company to stop ripping people off
plus I then found same knife set at []? TV says not offered in Stores

We purchased our Showtime knife set about two and a half years ago from one of Ron's infomercials. Figuring the success we had with the Showtime rotissare the knife set would be super. NOT SO. Within a year many of the handles had become lose and one eventually fell off. They do not hold their edge as claimed with the exception of the bread knife. The warrenty is a joke costing more to replace a knife than it cost new in charges. It is the last product of Popels that I will ever purchase.

As we already have a Ronco Knife set and we really like it we decided to order 2 more sets for our family as a Christmas present. The first time we ordered them we had no problem of receiving them. We placed an order November 22nd 2007 and were told that it will arrive well before Christmas. The payments were promptly charged to our credit card in 4 installments, but no knifes were received by us. After calling them many, many times we received the 2 wooden blocks and since then we made 14 phone calls to them talking to Sam, Melvin, Ricky, Austin, David, Rebecca, Louise and still no knifes.
We asked for the supervisor on several occasion and was told that they are only working until 2:00pm pacific time, or no supervisor is available or just simply hang up on us. I can’t figure out that after complaining to the Better Business Bureau and looking at this site of how many complaints there are about this company and they can still be on TV.
This company is scamming the consumers and why can’t it be stopped? This purchase was charged to our [] card but they will not reverse the charges as to many month has gone by. I think that is how they would stop ripping off the consumers if the charges were reversed by the Credit Card companies THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER OR YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF.

ronco steak knifes i believe have ripped me off. i try and try to get in touch with these people and you cannot get past the recording but they are quick to take the money from your checking account twice. but when you call to inquire about where your product is you cannot get a person to talk to. do not get ripped off by these people. they sell a variety of different products at this 1800 #. do not get suckered into it.

Actually this is more like a FYI for potential buyers who do research like myself before ordering items online. Before ordering from any company or website, always google the product and look for a more reputable site to order from. This knife set is sold at [](not in stores) for only $39 (knife block included). The reviews listed there are all good concerning the product and we all know you can return anything to [].

Ok, here's the deal with Ronco.
First, when you call the 800 number, you are NOT speaking to anyone in the US -- surprised? They were last reported to be using a Phillipne based off-shore company for order taking and "customer service". Ronco has only 5 employees in the us and they are not innvolved with orders in any way. They deal with the Chinese factory and handle the creation and airing schedule of Ronco's infomercials. Ronco doesn't invent any of its products, they are knock-off items they work with Chinese factories to make. Your order goes to the Phillipines (maybe somewhere else by now), they batch these to China where they are manufactured shipped by the container load to CA where another fulfillment company actually does the mailing. Ronco's pricing structure is such that you product payment pretty much pays the cost of the product and the contractors who handle the order and Ronco's profit is actually the "shipping and handling charge". How to I happen to know know this -- I have a very close "contact" -- shouldn't say more. Sorry to see so many people taken on these products.
Oh, and one last comment -the "defense" statements included on this website were written by Ronco's legal staff.
If you are here, I'm hoping you are not one of the burned customers, but someone who's questioned the informercials and takes a little time to do an internet search of the product/company before ordering.
Hope this will help someone.

I ordered the knife set. I had no problem having the products delivered to me in a timely manner. My problem is they sent product that I did not order and was charged for the item and shipping. I tried to call them to return these items, what I got was a person on the other that did not speak a word of English and I was getting frustrated. I basically got no where with them. I am returning all items at my expense. I just lost $80 on shipping…. Bulls**t. Never again will I ever order online or over the phone. Stores.. ladies and gentleman is where I’ll do my shopping from now on.

Are you all ready to here what they have done to me? Back on 6/10/08 I ordered the two sets of knives with the wooden blocks made a 1 time payment of $178.98. 3 weeks later I was starting to woner where my product was so I called into Ronco was told my product was delivered to me 6/17/08 by UPS and it was left on my door step. No one would provide me a tracking number and I was told a repacement order would be sent out within 3 to 7 business days. So I once again like a fool waited 7 days when the order never arrived I called again waited on hold for over an hour and a half to get hung up on by []. I then called back extreamly p.o.ed and talked with [] who by the way makes all customer service reps everywhere look good cause he was horrible. he birped on the phone, hung up on me and when i called back lied and said he didnt hang up on me, then stuck me on hold while i was talking and again hung up on me. the following day i called back and guess who answers again David, so i gave him an ear full asked for a supervisor and was told they were in meetings to call back the next day. I called back for 2 weeks streight dealing with every single rude customer service rep they employ hearing every excuse you can think of every i appoligize this is how our refund process works you can think of. also i was told that there corporate office does not have a phone and was moving. I finally got a hold of a supervisor who promased i would have my claim letter to sign within 3 day and a complete refund within 1 week. I got his name and number. A week later i still had not gotten my claim letter. Finally on 08/22/08 I was emailed my claim letter I have every day since the 22nd faxed my letter in over and over at a minimum of 5 times a day including weekends and called in day after day to hear we have not gotten your letter signed that we have emailed you. I called in on 9/15/08. Today and was told my letter was just received to wait 7 to 14 business days to see my refund. I made them verify my credit card number to make sure he was looking at my order. So now I wait again. In the mean time I am paying interest on product on my visa card that I never received and they refuse to pay back any interest. I have be charged since I placed this order. I have gone to the extent to tell them I am driving out to Van Nuys Ca to collect my money and at that point is when i talked to a supervisor. I told them today if i do not have my money refunded within 7 days I am going to every news company out there and getting a lawyer and going to file a lawsuite for fraud against the company and all individuals who are lying to me about my claim. Now I wait 7 days and guess we'll see.

I ordered and received the flatware set advertised along with the Six Star Knives - I'm glad I did not buy the knives because the flatware set is pure junk.
Ever tap a butter knife or fork on your countertop and get that a ting sound? Try doing it with the flatware set the only sound I'd compare it to is THUD. Very cheap materials. Rust builds up on them too and the tangs fade with one dishwasher cycle.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! and his ad says Their just down-right elegant.
Ahhhhhh, I don't think so. If the flatware is junk, just imagine the knives! THUD!
One consolation, the butter knives make good coffee stirrers -just clean off the rust once and a while.

I bought these knives 2 times... once 2 years ago, and again 6 months ago. i bought the full set with the knife block.... and may i say all knives are good, and work well. sure they will rust if left in water, or left sitting in a sink... but that is not how you should treat knives. mine are all rust free and working perfectly as i wash and then let them dry in the rack... i dont let them sit dirty in the sink. I am sorry if this opinion is different than yours, but the fact is, my mom, my aunt, my brother and i all have these knices, and we have all found, if you take care of them, they last a long time and work well..... if you want to treat knives badly and expect them to last forever, you should expect to pay $40 or more for EACH knife... not $40 dollars for all knives. you get what you pay for, and in this case, i feel this is a great deal, you just have to take care of them properly. in other words, they are not for lazy people who leave their dishes unwashed for weeks at a time.

Suprising I did receive but is missing 4 knives. I called at the begining of July to report missing knives and after sitting on hold for 40 minutes (not to mention using 40 minutes of my cell phone minutes) they told me that they will be shipped out in 7 business days. NEVER received them. I just called again and sat on hold for 20 minutes and was told my request is still processing and it usually takes 3 days so if thats the case and its now the end of July, why havent it already been processed because I believe 3 1/2 weeks is longer than 3 days. I demanded to speak with a supervisor and he kept saying they were in a meeting and I said I did not care and I better speak with someone NOW. He put me on hold for another 15 minutes to come back and say there is no body. He then gave me the Corp. number and I asked for his name and ext. so I can report him. I hang up and call the number he gave me to find out it is not a correct number and since I signed up for a 3 Payment plan, I called my bank and canceled my debit card. So yeah I paid the 1st payment already but those scammers will not get the additional 2 payments. SCREW THEM!

Wow! Some of you were actually able to make contact with Ronco? Every time I called I got put on extended hold and never got a chance to talk to anyone. My emails to them came back as undeliverable too. All of my stainless steel steak knife handles have the mild steel attaching hardware rusted away and are useless now. The never needs sharpening Showtime knife barely cuts anything anymore. After reading from the rest of you about the cost of replaceing them, even if I were to get through to a semi-english speaking person, its obviously not worth the time. Thanks for the information!! I will save myself a lot of time and trouble now by just tossing my set into the garbage can where it belongs.

My husband got me the knife set for Christmas. Shortly after getting them the blades started to rust. I sent Ronco an e-mail asking how to use the lifetime warranty. I got no response. So, I just now finally got a chance to call Ronco and use my joke of a lifetime warranty. I called and first let me say you can't hardly understand what they are saying. When I told them what was wrong with the knifes they told me to ship the knifes back to them at my expense and pay them $17 to ship a new one to me. Correct me if I'm wrong but at that price I could buy the new set and get a free set. The new set is $39.99 and you get a free set. By the time I send my set back and pay for the shipping to me I'm already paying at least $34. Needless to say I'll be throwing this knife set away and know that I've learned my lesson the hart way. I'll never buy Ronco again. Just as a little warning to those of you who are for some odd reason still thinking about buying these knifes. The knife block is not included. If you do buy them I hope you have a better experience an I did.

Worst company I have ever dealt with, bar none!!!!! I ordered two sets as gifts November 10, 2007 on their two for one offer. I was excited because I thought that my Christmas shopping had been with a quality item. I was told that I would get them way before Christmas. Supposedly it would take no more than 10 days to reach me. I waited 6 weeks and didn't receive them. Meanwhile I had to buy other gifts in place of the knives to give. It was an expensive Christmas when I was trying to save money. Service?? I was constantly told that they were in the warehouse, back ordered, on their way, etc. Then I was told they had left the warehouse and I should be receiving them in a day or two. Ha!!!!! A lot of day or twos went by so I finally got so exasperated that I called to cancel the four sets that were to be coming. I was told that one set had already left the warehouse and I couldn't cancel that set. Their warehouse I was told was in China. That's right, they were being manufactured in China. So much for the quality story. I too went through multiple calls with people I couldn't understand when they spoke. I asked for the number to the head office to place a complaint. The head office is supposedly in California. Upon being given that number, I called many times until I finally got so sick of it all that I told them I would report their company. That got me through at last to someone there (who still had a foreign voice) and then to Ron himself. I was able to cancel one set but the other I was told was already on its way. I am holding onto the knives to give as gifts this year (Christmas 2008) not because I think they are so great, but because I have paid for them and have no need for two sets myself. I didn't even need one. It is now eight months later, (nearly July 2008) and today I got a call that they were unable to process my payment so I still owed them $46.75. They made certain the payment went through immediately in Nov. 2007. In telling them it was on my bank statement, all of a sudden I owed them nothing. I don't know if they are just very dishonest or horrible record keepers and poor business people. I tend to believe the dishonest one. Quality of product?? The knives are only worth the $26 or so that you pay for them when buying the two for one offer. If you have ordered and haven't received anything, stay on their tail and don't give up until you get them or get your money back. Don't let them get away with their scam. I'll join a class action suit too if one comes to fruition.

OK, so I am back with an update to my story that I reported at the 1st of June. It has only gotten worse. I too was told supervisors only work 10-2 pst. when I tried to get transferred the line dropped and i called back and they said their policy was to transfer and drop the line if no supervisor was available. I contacted the BBB and was advised by [] at Ronco that I would receive my refund upon receipt of my return. The received the return 6/19/08 and i called and they said that I still had to wait 7-15 business days for them to process it. I called on 6/20/08 and was told it was in process--which it wasn't. When I contacted [] she finally got back to me on 6/24 and advised that the refund would be processed 6/25. It is 6/26/08 and my CC takes 3-5 business days to process the refund. I have reported them again and I also advised her that had the refund been processed on 6/19/08 as she advised me it would then the 3-5 business day wait would be up. These people do not know how to deal in customer service. Please let me know if a class action suit is filed cause I am all about it if it is. STAY AWAY FROM RONCO!!!!!

So I too am sorry that I just found this site. I placed my order on 4/20/08 and low and behold on 4/22 I received an email saying that my order had been shipped. I was excited. Well that was short lived. I received the two knife blocks and nothing else. I waited 2 weeks and then called. I was told there was an error at the warehouse and they have corrected it and my order would ship within a couple days. After 2 weeks, NOTHING! I called back and was told that the item was back-ordered, but they had just gotten them in and it was on it's way. Ok, so I wait 2 more weeks, NOTHING!! I call again and ask for a supervisor. I was told supervisors were only available 10:30a - 2p Pacific. Okay, I say I will call back. I call back and I'm given the number for the Corporate HQ, where supposedly I can speak to a supervisor. The number is continuously busy. I decide to go a different route. I call and ask again for my order I am told to hold and then I am told he has just put through the order again. I call back 30 mins later. I ask this rep SWEETLY to pull up my order, then before he knows what is happening I am gently making him read me what it says on his screen for my order. I ask, has my order been shipped. he say yes. I ask when, he says 4/22. I ask my entire order? He says yes. I say, "then please tell me why I only got the blocks?" SILENCE! He then puts me on hold and comes back with a different order number. So in essence he created a new order fr me. I called back in an hour and the new order was there in the system. That was about a week and a half to 2 weeks ago. I finally got the knives yesterday. I have to tell you when I say you get what you pay for, I'm not kidding. I haven't used them yet, but they are so light, I can't imagine that they will be very effective. I'm send an upadte in a few days. My advice though. STAY AWAY FROM RONCO!!!!

Well, I wish I had found this site before I ordered, but when the order for the two knife sets and block (a separate purchase) was placed on February 1, 2008 I had no reason to suspect that RONCO was not a reliable, reputable company. Now it is June 16 and I have not received my order. I've called customer service 5 times, the first was at the 8 week mark since they say to allow 4-6 weeks shipping (but most orders arrive in 3 weeks or less they said). That first call they told me the knives were back ordered and would take a little longer. The next time I called I was told my order had been misplaced and they would ship "right away". The next time I was told that the company had relocated and mine had gotten lost in the shuffle. The next time I called I was told that my order had been placed on hold, they did not know why but it would be shipped "right away". They would not refund my money because they said the order has already been processed, and I now fear that it's too late to dispute the charge with my CC company because it's been four-and-a-half months. Perhaps the worst part is that when (or if) the knives finally show up, THEY ARE JUNK! I strongly suggest you avoid this company. I will be keeping a keen eye out for the class-action lawsuit.
