My wife ordered this knife set on Nov 27, 2007. She used her debit card to pay cash. She was told that they were on back order but would be delivered not more than 6 weeks later. It is now March of 2008 and no delivery. I emailed Ron Popeil and was informed that was a different organization and they had no dealing with this matter. I then emailed [] who emailed back saying, what did you order? I emailed back stating specifically what I had ordered, when, and the exact amount paid. I have yet to receive an answer on this email. I don't know if I can find a way to resolve this matter, but you can bet your last dollar that I will try!

The price is a joke. Steak knives sold for 17.95 each? I went to walmart and found the exact knives sold in a set of four for $1.88. The only differece is they dont have the word showtime stamped on them. The meat cleaver is sold for $9.00 and the chefs knife is sold for $3.00 at walmart. The shears sell for a whopping 99 cents Ron Popeil comes from a long line of bullshitters that prey on the dumb american public. Finally all the knives are made in China and as we all know only the finest lead coated products are made in China!

so i was trying to get this buy one get one free deal through the informercial. when i called and gave them all the billing info. and asked them one last question-the total payment. the 25 piece set was supposed to be 3 payments of $13.33 but when i told about the total cost, it was close to a hundred dollar! it was ridiculously expensive, so i asked about the shipping and handling fee, i was told that i have to pay for the shipping and handling for each set of knives that i buy, which total up to about $50. I read some comments about the phone representative cant provide an order tracking #, i wasnt surprised because when i asked for their website address, the guy said "okay...let me get that for you." he paused. and then said" hmm...i thought we have a website address, but i dont have it with me" i was like WHO do business like that?! cant even provide a web addres to your clients? does it even exist?? i cancelled my order at the end of the conversation before i found this page that confirms my thoughts that Ranco is a scam. i also called up my bank to give them a heads up that i want to stop a transaction from Ranco showtime. just be aware of all these informercials!

All said above about the Ronco Showtime Six Star Knife is absolutely true and I never received the Hard Wood Block and the Steak Knife, althought I was charged for them!!! Their customer service e-mail address is not active any more. I strongly suggest opening a class action lawsuit.

More that a year and a half I purchased two sets of Ronco Showtime Knives, two wooden blocks and a set of sisssors. When they eventually arrived, included were some plastic devices (as yet unused). There was an explanation to please accept our apologies for the missing knives, they are temporarily out of stock. When they become available we will ship them to you. Also included on my bill were two usurous $64.00 charges for shipping and "handling". As of this date 2-7-08 no "paid for" missing knives have arrived. I am not amused and Ronco Ron must be wealthy!!!

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? I had ordered the knives last year on Nov 18, and I have not received the product yet. I'm not a moron so I don't know why didn't I try to look into this company before I ordered something from them (God I wish I had). When I ordered it was by phone and when I found out how much they wanted to charge me for S/H I flat out said "No deal! Goodbye. The problem is they already had my credit card number. So the next day I get a call back on my cell phone and there's a foreigner trying to push the knives on me with a sweeter deal on the S/H. So I agreed and repeated the price and denied any other offer that the guy was trying to push( I thought the Block came with the knives, silly me for ASSuming that Ol' Ronnie was telling the truth or should I say selling the truth). I bought the knives in the first place so that I could give my mother a nice set of knives for Christmas. The knives never came and yet they've been paid in full for the product. I called and was on hold on a cell phone peek hours, on hold for upwards of 40 minutes. They (a foreigner and never an American speaking server) told me that the knives are on "back order" and that I should get them at the end of the year late December. So much for mom's knives. Well I've called them a total of 22 times since, I get same scripted line every time "The knives were in back order, but they are ready to be shipped and you should have them delivered by next week.", and I have all these names written down like "Mike" "Joe" "Andrew" "Lisa" "Bill" and even "John" Now mind you not one of these ppl (all 22 of them) had an American Accent, not one. If I were told their real names, believe me, I could live with that, and still that would be too much to ask for. My mother's birthday is in January and I wanted to give her the knives for that event. So much for that. Well I've been over to my mom's house since only to find out that my sister got her a good set of Chicago Cutlery (heavy duty knives). lol. go figure. And now I read all of these bad reports on some cheap ol' knives and I feel like I just got mugged in a darkened gangway. I have been ordering stuff in the mail since I was 16 (I'm pushing 40) and this has never happened to me before. Thanks Ronnie because you stuck me up better than any city gangbangger or common thug has ever succeeded. I'm going to make a final attempt to have the money put back on my card, do you think I'm in for a whole new nightmare? You bet. I know that I'll never fall for another scam like this one and if any one is into suing the crap out this crook, just let me know on this web sight. God bless and don't get taken by Don Ron "The Crook" Popeil.

We placed our order after seeing demo on tv. When calling to order a fast paced conversation from Ronco had me agreeing to purchase the knife set but also accepting trial subscriptions of 3 different magazines. I discovered my credit card provided for the knife set was charged for full subscription prices. When I placed a call to ensure my subscription gets canceled before any further charges, I was forced to navigate through a recorded pile of automated messages where unless one carefully listens can be billed again for services not wanted. When each magazine was called I was informed that Ronco & co. is the party to connect up with to cancel the magazine subscriptions. Buyer beware! Please listen very closely when placing tv offer orders.

Well we received the knives as a christmas present and so we thought we would order the block. that's logic right? well - still No Block. We haven't received one word about the block. for some reason, their web address has been "Under Contruction" here lately so I can't even call and complain. All I have been able to get is Order Recieved - and I know they have taken the money, it shows on my card. There shipping says 4 to 6 weeks, and we are in the 5-6 week, so maybe I will have a nice surprise one day this week? What do you think my chances for that? Anyone, anyone? Yeah! I think I got my answer, "SCAMED" Just go and buy some Rachel Ray knives. I think she's too famous to give crappy things like O'Ronco!

Well I just received my two knife sets today. I was so excited because of the great deal, buy one get one free. I went ahead and ordered two blocks because I was going to give the second set to my mom. I started opening up the knives and right away noticed the handles were plastic and while the knives say they are stainless steel, they really don't look it. I was almost irrate when I went to put the chop and serve knife in its slot and part of the blade was sticking out. I then started looking at my order form and it stated I received a shipping discount for the second block of 11.90. For the life of me I could not find where this discount was issued. I got on the phone and sat there for about 30 minutes before a man came on the line. Basically he tried telling me that the discount was taken off. I cannot believe this company is trying to justify charging $67.20 for shipping, oh but I should feel so lucky that they discounted it to $55.30!. That is ridiculous that I am out that now plus whatever it will cost me to send them back I mean at that price I could have gone out and bought a much better set of knives. And the worst part is when I was trying to get a confirmation to send the product back the guy disconnected me and I had to call back!! I am in the process of contacting the better business bureau and I highly suggest you do not waste your money!!

I ordered the knife set back in early Nov.2007. They told me knives were in the warehouse and would ship next week. We received a letter dated 12/8/07 with an apology for not getting my knives yet. There was also a gift card in case they were for a Christmas gift. They also gave me a code to use for $20.00 worth of Ronco products purchased in 2008. When Dec. credit card statment came we were charged for knives even though we have not received them. Jan. 8th 2008 I called the Ronco company and they said the knives were again in the warehouse and would ship in 2 to 3 weeks. I told them they had told me that once, back in Nov. and they had already charged my credit card, and that wasn't good enough. I asked to talk to the complaint dept. and they said they don't have a complaint dept. I asked to talk to a supervisor or someone above them. He said there was no one there. I told them I wanted someone to call me back right away. He told me he would have someone call in the next 48 hours. No one called, but amazingly my knives came this last Tuesday. Jan. 16th. We have the Ronco rotissere and love it but I think anyone that is having problems getting their knives probably need to call and push the issue.

Bought the Ronco Knives a year ago this Christmas. Like most, it took months to finally get my wooden holder. I own a restaraunt... I know a good knife when use one! I've used all of them and they SUCK!!!!The steak knives, bread, and cheese knives do work well. The carving and fillet knives are jokes(the dont carve or fillet ANYTHING!!!), the "sportsman" is useless, the garnish is stupid, the saw looking knife that Ripoff Ronco says will "never dull" was never sharp! Please anyone who buys this do not use the "sharpener" that is supplied, it will ruin these already Crappy knives.

I am so pissed they charged my credit card $126.00 and i havent got shit. Screw ronco i will not recomend them to my worst enemy!

I have not heard anything since I put my order through on November 16, 2007. If I had read all the complaints, I would not have done any business with these scammers. I chalk it up as a infomercial scam lesson. Not too expensive. I've lost a lot more than $56.27 on lessons learned and unlearned.

A great Christmas gift?!? My foot!! I purchased this set a couple of years ago thinking I would never have to purchase another set again (like the commercial says!). Wrong, wrong, wrong! The only reason I've kept them as long as I have is because I haven't had the chance to save and purchase a newer, higher qualtiy set. The steak knives were the worst of the lot! I washed these once in the dishwasher and they started to rust. Then the resin that is in the handles began to ooze out marking up the knife set even further. The shears broke after cutting a chicken for the 2nd time. The handles are of very poor quality and this can't be stainless steel because of the way they've aged after only 2 or 3 years. I've purchased a rotiseirre oven and it is great but this product has to be in the same category as Ron's product line from the 70's: a novelty product and nothing more! Like the Mr. Microphone or pocket fisherman. I thankfully received a new set of knives for Christmas this year and they are fantastic. And the final cost was only about $20 more than what I paid for Ron's including the block and the shipping and handling. You can tell this is a higher quality set by just looking at the handles and I'm certain that this one will be the one that lasts a lifetime. I did keep the Showtime knife along with a few of the larger ones just for use with my BBQ but the rest went in the garbage where they belong. Buyer beware!!!! Ron's oven is great but look elsewhere for the utinsels to carve what you cook.

I bought this knife set thinking I will never have to buy another one,boy was I wrong.I cant even cut through half frozen venison without the handles breaking off.The set I have is a year old and everything on it is junk!I can cut through an onion better and safer with a butter knife.

bought 4 sets of knives and blocks on november 1st, 2007. i received the blocks 2 weeks later, but as of today december 20, no knives! cant get ahold of customer service, on hold over 30 minutes, their fax always busy, their email always bounces back. i guess the 4 family members are not going to get the christmas presents.

12/19/2007 - Howard writes:
Real simple. Have not tried the knives because I never received the wooden knife holder. Why put them in a drawer so they will get dull from rubbing against other items? Tried twice to get them to send me the wooden knife holder. Always on backorder. Will not buy anything else from old Ron, although got to admit, he is quite the salesman.

12/4/2007 - Carol writes:
I bought the set about a year ago. The knives are very poor quality, with light weight, cheap plastic handles. They are badly rusting all over. They became very dull after just a month or so. I tried to return them under the "lifetime guarantee" and was given the run-around. The Popeil Store told me to call the manufacturer and the manufacturer, after 1/2 hour on the phone (mostly on hold) told me to call the Popeil store. I ended up back at the manufacturer and they said it would cost me $16.88 shipping to have new knives sent to me. It would cost me $5 to mail them back by priority mail. I honestly don't feel the manufacturer is paying even $10 for the set from China. They are making profit on their warrranty replacements. Since it would cost me over $20 to replace them, due to the shipping charges, I don't feel the knives are worth even $20 to me. The knives they sell at the dollar tree store are better than these knives. One Henkels knife is worth more to me than this entire set. I am planning to test the handles and the blades for lead and if there is ANY lead in these cheap knives, I am going to file a class-action lawsuit. These rust like crazy and stainless does not rust. My father is a metal plating expert and I plan to have him examine the finish on the blades. But most importantly, I plan to tell everyone I know how low the quality of these knives are and also how poor the customer service is.
