Please People report SMC to your state Attorney General and BBB. We as so many others tried SMC. Within a month we cancelled because we had become wary of their practices. First it was very difficult to contact anyone to cancel. When we discussed it they would put us on hold and shift us to another person. In order to get a ligitimate corporate email address to document our cancellation I had to go on their Canada website to find one.I used that communication to document our cancellation. As a suprise to us they took out $259.95 out of our checking account that we hadn't authorized. We then closed the account and authorized the bank to investigate. The bank got the money back. Now 6 months later they sent us a collections notice. HA.I implore You,report this to your attorney General and BBB. First If you close the account they will threaten to take you to civil court. Don't fall for it. They are not willing to chance getting investigated. But don't Let their empty threats scare you. If they turn it into a credit reporting agency, File a complaint with those agency's. They will conduct an investigation. Keep the investigative reports from the credit card compnay's, banks etc. Turn this into your Attorney general. If we don't act Companies like SMC will continue to bilk poor people.

My Father ordered this product while in the hospital. He was very ill and didn't know what he was doing. When the membership kit was returned within the 30 days we still didn't get a refund. My father died a few days after the original order and they still refuse to refund the money. PREDATORS!!! Beware!!!

I tried SMC years ago, I was lucky to have mailed a check for my kit. After ordering some of their items /merchandise, which most are junk stuff! You know they (SMC) is in the biz to make money off YOU! SMC don't care about how you're doing. Sounds like SMC turned out to be even more of a FRAUD and SCAM of a company these days. eBay is similiar these days as well. eBay is in the game to make money off of sellers like YOU! They don't care if you sell it or not. If you notice eBay only want you to add all the extras to your listings, so you pay BIG bucks in FEES! The only thing eBay is good for is to get rid of your junk stuff that's gathering dust in your house verses having a garage sale or donating to charity. eBay is sooooo over saturated that you won't make it after you minus ALL the darn fees! Final thought: What goes around comes around, the crooks at SMC will get what's coming to them in Sing Sing prison... bubba is waiting for them. One word of advice to you. Don't bend over to pick up the soap! LOL! Ciao!!

I am a wholesale distributor and I purchased a starter kit from the tv ad for $39.95. I received that, but then they started charging my debit card $79.00 a month for the lifetime membership fee, and i did not agree to those charges. Now my account is in collections and i can't pay the bill. They say i agreed verbally on the phone, which isn't true. This is definitely a scam, and i would like to have some justice here. what should i do?

Once you become a member of SMC you are pretty much stuck with no money return! I was supost to pay just $149.99 to get started, ended up spending $399.99 for the membership and kit. If you try to cancell, it goes against your credit. I am now out over $3,000.00 that they took out of my account. I have nothing now but a few hundred dollars left. I had to cancell my Debit Card so that they couldnt take any more of my bank account. SMC tell's me that I still owe them money, around $1300.00, How can this be? SMC were buying products with my money and trying to sell them and since they didnt sell I was charged a fee for restocking and the item itself. I didnt sell anything. I dont have a thing to show for it, no items and no money profit. I was in this for 2 months and now I am broke. They use our money to make themselves rich! They are very rude and hateful people at SMC, they are very demanding. It alsmost brought tears to my eyes. They are very unprofessional, they need anger mangement councelling. My attorney has found out that people that are tring to defends this product, are acutally the workes at SMC. It is your choice to make a wise decision (not to get tangeled up in SMC) or a decision that will wreck your money world and (make SMC rich). I have talked to my attorney, thank GOD he is a friend that will help me for free, Not so many people will be this lucky. Tell as many people as you can abou this site. BBB needs to get involved in the SMC scam! Please take head in this warning! Holly A********

I knew as soon as they wouldn't give me a call back # because I told them I wanted to discuss this with my husband there was something wrong. In fact as soon as I told them what I wanted to do that is when the high pressure kicked into high gear. I couldn't beleive that the guy that called me refused to give me his number to call him back...what is up with that. Then he started asking me why my marriage was so restricted that I had to ask my husband to make a $35.00 purchase and that he and his wife small financial decisions independentaly all the time. As I hung up the phone I told him that I was not interested in working for a company that had no respect for my marriage and felt the insultments would actually persuade me to work for them. It was a very degrading experience. I guess Tom Bosley needs money extremely bad to endorse this company...he should be ashamed of himself.

SMC is a joke. Do not try it!!! I am wondering if I personally have a case against them. I never personally agreed to any contract, yet they continue to withdraw 39.95 out of my account every month. Doesnt somethinglike this require a written agreement? I dont even remember signing up for the service, and I definitely would not have agreed to a monthly charge. NO WAY.

One day in 4/2006 I was sitting on the sofa watching TV, when the "Deceitful" SMC infomercial came on. As I continued to watch I didn't think it would hurt just to call and get more information about how I could make alittle extra money. Mistake #1! From the very beginning I was deceived. The representative went through the initial sale pitch about becoming a member and my response was that I only wanted infomation about how the business venture was supposed to work. I was supposed to be purchasing the "membership kit" for $39.95 which would be a 1x deduction from my acct. Ha! I received the kit and immediatley realized that I didn't have the time it would take to give it my all and decided NOT to become involved w/SMC so I called to cancel and get the s/h sticker it would take to return the kit & receive my $39.95 refund. HA! Not only did I NOT get my refund, they continued to deduct $39.95 per month from my acct for a whole year! I kept receiving statements, stating "no activity" and "zero balance"...Which I assumed it was just something the company did even when you cancelled. I had no idea that I was paying for something in which I got nothing in return! It's a mistake on my part for not paying closer attention to my acct, but I still feel cheated...Because they continued to take MY MONEY even after I canceled! It took me until 5/2007, $575 and several "heated" phone calls to finally cancel the membership (that I never agreeed to) and STOP the deductions from my acct. I sure hope there is a way to end this type of "deceitful misrepresentation" and "outright fraud"! It's not only "financially damaging", its also "mentally stressful" and SMC should be stopped! If there is a way, count me in. Angela W--Midland TX

If you are considering this "opportunity" to work at home with this company stay clear away from them! I am writing this for my mother who was completely scammed by this company. First of all, to warn anyone you have 30 days to cancel your membership. She chose to stick with it and learn, but was then talked into getting the upgraded website. Her coach that was suppose to help her never kept his appointment. After purchasing the package for $1100.00 we saw nothing. Trying to call someone was a hassel. Trying to cancel is a hassel. I feel so angry with this company because I have learned what they had done. They don't keep up with their contract. Stay away!

My wife is handicapped and thought joining SMC would give her an opportunity to work from home. She called number from the infomercial and talked to an SMC Rep about the program. She was informed that she could review all the materials and cancel for a full refund less shipping should she determine the program didn’t fit her needs. The membership package arrived and was review and my decided not to pursue the program. All the material was repackage and returned within the 30 day review period. However, SMC won’t allow us to cancel because we have no proof we returned the membership materials and they continue to charge our Visa $39.95 per month. We have attempted many times to reach a person on the phone and we have sent numerous emails to no avail. The only option SMC has left us with is to cancel our Visa and contest the charges. Beware of this company! SMC will not work with you in an ethical or responsive manner. Your ability to cancel has many conditions that result in you having to pay the $479.40 membership fee even after you return the membership package. Do NOT give this company your debit or credit card number.

After seeing the infomercial and wanting to get into e-merchandising, I thought why not give it a try. So I requested information. From the time I requested the info I got constant phone calls. I finally decided to sign up after a woman made many promises and "free" stuff if I signed up right then. Being I had already thought of doing it I figured why not. I was promised a web site that was absolutely horrible and first time users had to have a gift card. This was not disclosed of course when signing up. My sessions with my coach were a disaster. He yelled at me and was so rude because I didnt do what he wanted me to do. After all this I was done with the company. But of course the 30 day cancellation is not from when you get the package it is from when you signed up on the phone. Thus no refund for me. Not to mention you have to send the kit back that you pay for again and it has to be postmarked within the 30 days. At any rate stay away from SMC! I think we should file a classaction suite. If anyone is interested email me.

the drop ship company called SMC specilty merchandise corp with tom bosly as the spokes person is a scam as i have been reading the complaints about this company its all the same its really impossable to make money with this company the only one making money is the CEO of fmc... i tried like countless others to make money to sell to put items on ebay to advertise in the local papers and nationwide papers ? they told me at first that the gift card web site was the #1 site in the country and people are making millions of dollars i tried for months with no luck its impossable to get thousands of gift cards to thousandts of people when you are being charged $3.33 per card and no one wants to first get a gift card in the mail and then use it to get an item from a site when they can just go to a nother site and buy it out right with out the hasstle and being csamed in short it doesnt work and there is no way to make money with SMC. and if the district attorney offices from all the states where the scams take place then someone would take notic i think

Well I am suprised these guys are still going. Back in 2000 While attending college(18 at the time) i figured selling merchandise sounded better than flipping burgers for a living. At that time they were willing to send out the info packet for free, which was fine, they sent it right out. Two weeks later I got non stop harrassment from the company. It got to the point where I asked if I could have more time to decide, the guy said no, basically said it was now or never, demanding my checking account number so I said no. I figured after looking it over nobody in rural oklahoma is going to by sequins and ceramic dolphins. The items they sell are pure crap and having some ass hole being a rude prick on the phone trying to pressure you into signing up for this crap was really frustrating. I at 18 had the commonsense to not do it, so I am not sure what that says for the rest of you, so you have to be a willing player in order to be had.

!!BEWARE OF SMC!! This company is very sketchy when it comes to revealing ALL of the information it claims on their infomercials. I tried calling their 1800 number to ask just a few basic questions that were "left out" in their sales campaign, and what I got was a rude, fast talking moron, who continously tried to sell me their membership "on the spot" with a bunch of so called freebies to try to reel me in. No such luck, so he hung up on me. SMC has a telemaketing call center developed just for people who are unaware that they can prey on. REMEMBER..even their so called money back guarantee is not exactly 100%. If you read fine print, they only reimburse $24.95, the other $15.00 (for shipping you their useless membership kit)is on you. Sounds to me like their scamming consumers right from the get go.

SMC is a pure scam. They support the dealers? .. if you are a dealer -- they will sell direct to another person RIGHT DOWN YOUR street. That is not "dealer support". If they really offered "dealer support" they would refer THAT sale "down-the-street" to you. ALL they are looking to do is SELL to everyone ...at a so-called dealer price. So WHO do you sell to ? .. other dealers ? ... DON'T let this company take ANY of your money.

I wanted the $1500 gift card redemption website. I was charged $1,160 on 5/30/2007 which went through. Within minutes SMC had charged my account another 4x for over 4 thousand dollars for only the remaining balance of $340. I didn't have that much money in that account. Of course these additional "checks" bounced and only the first went thorough causing me hundreds of dollars in fees and they disabled my account. Why did SMC not charge me once for $1500 or when discovering THEIR MISTAKE why wasn't I only charged with the remaining $340 instead of another $4,081. Then they had the nerve to tell me I still owed them money! I have left several emails with SMC which have gone unreturned. When I do call I am left on hold for 45 MINUTES at a time or I am transferred around aimlessly. I told them I wanted a full refund of my $1100 IMMEDIATELY and the re-activation of my account. They said SMC rarely refunds money and all "sales are final" in this context the original contract is null as SMC not only over-charged me but also how they structured the charges. I'm seriously considering going to the BBB, my state attorney's office, and the state in which SMC is incorporated. I'm also thinking about filing a claim and seeking damages!

We tried to sign up with this company and was told our product would arrive in 7 -10 days and that we would have 30 days to cancel. After the product didn't arrive (at all), we called and told them we weren't interested in purchasing their product. Our account has already been charged, and now we are unable to get a refund. After numerous phone calls, we are still trying to get a refund. After the 2nd call to complain, they asked for our credit card number and within days, we had our first dose of credit card fraud....somehow all these charges came up that totalled over $2000.00; we still havent' been reimbursed, and when I called again today, they want my credit card number again. Now, tell me how they can charge my credit card, but when it cones to a refund, tell me that they don't have my credit card information?! They are trying to run out their 30 day window, and not refund us. Steer clear of this company.
