Space bags are a great concept - in theory. If they actually worked, I would buy a thousand of them, but, sadly, they do not. My problem was not tearing, but rather the 'zipper seal'. Invariably, within an hour of sealing and vacuuming, the bags all re-inflated with air infiltration. The zipper seal is poorly designed and always air to creep back in. Save your $ and don't buy this product!

The bags do tear easily, but they do work if you can get them not to tear. One of them tore while I was filling them up. Becuase it was the biggest one and the most expensive ones, I duck taped it and sucked out all of the air. It worked! (for a while) I shoved it under a bed and left it. A few days later I realized that it had filled back up with air. I had to take apart my queen sized bed to get the bag and all its contents out from under it. It needs to be thicker and more duable so it won't tear.

Never recieved my space bags but the customer service was terrible! I ordered 14 space bags two and a half months ago and got an email telling me my order had been processed. Two and a half months later I really needed to find out why I had never recieved notification that it had shipped. I called customer service and she informed me that right after I placed the order there had been problems with my credit card. THey never attempted to contact me by any means so here i am waiting for months for a space bag order that had never gone through. She seemed very unsimpathetic and quickly got me off the phone. I emailed the company of my problem to notify them politely but firmly of the need to monitor their customer service. They sent me a blanket response that had nothing to do with anything i said and appeared to be just a generic email. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

I purchased the set of assorted sizes. Within hours they began to inflate. They did not work at all and were a waste of time and effort and money. I am very disappointed and will never purchase them again.

They tear very easily. They are only good for using once and they don't work for long. don't waste your money. If you have something that is really special that you want to have stored, have it doe professionaly.

I bought a set at a local retailer. The seams of the bags tear open very easily and the bags do not stay compressed. I was very disappointed in the product.

Tried them out and they seemed to work well the first time. Only had 1 bag fail to hold the air in. However, don't EVER try to reuse the bag! I had to remove some items in several of the bags and it would never, never deflate again. It didn't matter what I tried. I even tried not using the valve and stuck the vacuum hose in the opening with the seal on each side. What a rip off. I should have spent the money on some solid plastic containers that would fit under my bed.

I am really dissappointed that this product does not work. I really, really wanted it to! Everything worked for me as shown on the commercials and I found the representation to be exact, initially. I purchased a set in a store, the true Space Bag brand, to give myself some additional space in my linen closet. I wanted to take many items....quilts, crocheted blankets, and other things that were special to me and store them safely away and leave more room for the regular-use items in the linen closet.
Well, like I said, the product worked exactly as stated it should. I did not overfill the bags, and used just an ordinary inexpensive vacuum to suck the air out. Everything flattened wonderfully and I gained well over 50% of my closet back.
However, after a period of time...like a few months, maybe 3 but not 6, the bags all leaked and did not keep the air out. Everything puffed back up. So I ended up paying just to get some big plastic bags. I did not keep the instructions but I do not recall ever hearing that I would need to re-do the packaging frequently.
Maybe for a week vacation or a boating trip these would be good, but what they can do is WAY over advertised. I would not buy them again.

I had ordered a set of assorted sizes thru mail. Do not waste your money! The large & extra large sizes do not work plus they are too big to lift & put on a shelf. The small & medium sizes appear to work, but how much can you put in them? Not much!! When I called to complain, they told me to cut out the logo from the bag & send it to them. I asked them to replace the defective large & extra large bags with medium size bags--they sent me 2 more extra large bags instead. What a rip-off! Another family member swears by them--but they are not for me! Total waste of money & time.

Absolute garbage! I filled the jumbo with one Queen comforter. I shoved it under my bed. Two hours later it had completely inflated to where I couldn't get the darned thing out. I had to lift the bed! Why hasn't this also been reported with rip off report.com? These things are such and absolute waste of money!

I bought Space Bags prior to moving over 1,000 miles across the country. I purchased these bags because I had limited space in my vehicle for me, my two cats and my friend. I though they would be a great idea to help maximize space, so I stuffed the car as full as I could....well I was wrong. They were fine for the first day, sealed tight..BUT on day 2 they began to EXPAND. They had not been opened or punctured, etc, they just started to expand. I had nowhere to put them, so by the time I reached me destination me, my kitties and my frind were being shoved out of the car by these SPACE BAGS...we had no SPACE!! In addition, after this incident I decided to keep the bags around for storage (without using the suction, just using as regular bags) BUT then the 'zippers' all broke and would not close... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Have had a number of these for over a year, and they have never stayed compressed. I have varying degrees of failure from just minutes to a day or two. The bag itself is not as heavy as it seems it should be to work as advertised. I've had a lot of trouble with the bag seals, they just won't stay sealed no matter how many times you run the plastic zipper back and forth. That zipper also falls off easily while trying to us it.
Avoid these things until they improve them.

I have had mixed results with these bags. The "flat" bags flat-out do not work. I have tried putting sweaters, bedding, sweatshirts, etc. in these bags, and they always re-inflate. The only luck I had was with a bag full of t-shirts. However, this was a completely USELESS application, as t-shirts fold really flat and you can't really smush them. However, the high-capacity tote works as advertised! I packed that sucker full of bedding, sucked it down to about a 2x2x1 cube, and stashed it under the bed. I got about 4 pillows, a queen-size bedding set including comforter, and some decorative pillows in one of these things. Not bad! Whatever they made that bag out of/did with that bag they need to do to all of their bags.

I brought these bags when they first came out. They seem ok as long as you only put one or two items in them. Years later, I thought they had improved (they are constantly on television and in stores). Low and behold, they were even worst. I spent nearly 80 dollars buying them for everyone. Needless to say, I have over 15 bags I can do nothing with. They are a scam! Don't get taking in.

I was moving so I thought I could save alot of space if I used these. What a waste of money. They are nothing but giant zip lock bags. They puff back up within 20 min of vacuming out the air. I could have used garbage bags to do the same thing these accomplished for alot less $$. Keep your money in your pocket.

Oh THANK YOU, bought lots of them, and waste of money, the only one that worked was the big bag that had the zipper outside cover. Will buy more of those, but thin material and easily torn, had to inflate and use tape to repair over and over again.

My biggest regret is that I didn't stumble on this report before I spent a lot of money of this junk. I thought I must be doing something wrong, or just had a bad bag, so tried it again and again before deciding it might be a good idea to see if anyone else had the same experience. Wow, am I embarrassed! They absolutely do NOT work. I followed instructions exactly, didn't even come close to overpacking, handled the bags very gently, deflated them according to instructions, and they reinflated practically within minutes. Every one of them.
I guess it serves me right for not doing my homework, but why is this allowed to continue? It's NOT that they just perform differently from what you expect, as some products do. They don't work at all. A total scam!

For the last we have been researching space storage bags and we have found out some interesting data. We tested three different space bags one extra large, one medium, and a travel size. We put a huge blanket in the extra large space bag. We found the area and it was 18,240 cm3 before we vacuumed out the air. We measured it again after we vacuumed it, and it was 6,837. We came back from spring break and it was the same, but the blanket was 2cm thinner and was all wrinkled. There was no point of the medium, it had a hole. The zippers were extremely hard to zip. And the one way valve wasn't even close to one way. Oh, and if you haven't noticed already the picture on the front only use 1/4 of the clothes and blankets. In conclusion we defiantly not recommend getting space bags. (Ziploc are better.)

I bought 2 boxes of these bags thinking it would help organize my closet. I got them home and followed the directions exactly. The next day I noticed the bags were no longer packed so tight. I sucked the air out, and the same thing happened the next day!
Right now, I'm sitting on the phone with customer serivce trying to figure out what the problem is...and I can't even get anyone over there to talk to me!
These are a total waste of money!
