My biggest regret is that I didn't stumble on this report before I spent a lot of money of this junk. I thought I must be doing something wrong, or just had a bad bag, so tried it again and again before deciding it might be a good idea to see if anyone else had the same experience. Wow, am I embarrassed! They absolutely do NOT work. I followed instructions exactly, didn't even come close to overpacking, handled the bags very gently, deflated them according to instructions, and they reinflated practically within minutes. Every one of them.
I guess it serves me right for not doing my homework, but why is this allowed to continue? It's NOT that they just perform differently from what you expect, as some products do. They don't work at all. A total scam!

For the last we have been researching space storage bags and we have found out some interesting data. We tested three different space bags one extra large, one medium, and a travel size. We put a huge blanket in the extra large space bag. We found the area and it was 18,240 cm3 before we vacuumed out the air. We measured it again after we vacuumed it, and it was 6,837. We came back from spring break and it was the same, but the blanket was 2cm thinner and was all wrinkled. There was no point of the medium, it had a hole. The zippers were extremely hard to zip. And the one way valve wasn't even close to one way. Oh, and if you haven't noticed already the picture on the front only use 1/4 of the clothes and blankets. In conclusion we defiantly not recommend getting space bags. (Ziploc are better.)

I bought 2 boxes of these bags thinking it would help organize my closet. I got them home and followed the directions exactly. The next day I noticed the bags were no longer packed so tight. I sucked the air out, and the same thing happened the next day!
Right now, I'm sitting on the phone with customer serivce trying to figure out what the problem is...and I can't even get anyone over there to talk to me!
These are a total waste of money!

These are absolutely lousy!!!! The valves on them do not work and the bag does not remain airtight. You could do the same thing with a plastic garbage bag and a vacuum nozzle! Actually I have tried that, and it actually worked better!

I read some other people's complaints about Space Bags and also saw rave reviews. I read online that they had some new and improved material they were using for the bags. So many stores cary it ([] etc.) I thought maybe it was user error or that the product improved. With that in mind, I went to [] to purchase it so I could easily return it if they didn't work. I was so careful and treated the bag gingerly. I put the clothes in there, sucked out the air and was amazed at how well it worked. I then hung it in the closet and began to load up the next one. Within 5 minutes I walked back to the closet to get more clothes and could see that the bag had already began filling with air again. All these reviews are right! I honestly cannot believe that all these stores continue to carry them! Very disappointing that not only do they not work but that so many retailers who consumers trust would carry them.

I bought so many of these things. Some for me, some for my mom and some for my godmother. What a terrible waste of money, time and energy. Not only are these incrediblely difficult to close (the zipper comes off so easily) but they take in air when the zippers fail to close the bag. The rubber around the suction valve gets right out twisted and refuses to stay put further adding to trauma. To add insult to injury, the bags don't hold as much as they say they do. What's a girl to do? Well I struggle to use them anyway and stuff them in suitcases before they reinflate. I waited to used them on my move to my new home, so no go on a refund. But on the bright side I learned a tough lesson. Always do your research.

I waited a long time to buy these freakin' things and what a waste of time and money! My crawlspace is FULL of seasonal clothes and bedding that I thought i could organize with these things...so much for that. I tried them out by only buying a Jumbo and a suit hanging one. The Jumbo "claims" to hold a King bedding set, FOUR pillows (lol) and some extra items. I got in a Queen comforter, one pillow and a set of queen sheets. No problem with the vaccuum..cool. No stress on the zipper...I did it EXACTLY. Within ONE HOUR it re-inflated. I tried the suit bag--two suits in it and one spring coat--first of all, the "zipper" came off with very little effort so I hand-sealed it. Vaccuumed the air out....as I brought it to the crawlspace I could HEAR air getting back in. Horrible HORRIBLE product...how is it still on the market?

I have some space bags and tried using them to put seasonal cloths in and they do not work. I vacumed and vacumed and they still leaked air out. I ended up putting cloths in a plastic ben which takes up space. Finally I came across the Ziplock XXL bags and they worked. I pressed the air out of them, sealed them and it is still sealed. I even put Christmas decorations in the Ziplock bags. Avoid the space bags, it's a waste of money.

I bought several two or three Space Bags at first because I thought the idea was wonderful. Well, all of them leaked. Naturally, I thought I was doing something wrong so I bought even more. I now have a wide assortment of these pieces of trash, some of which I have sealed with duct tape. They DO NOT work. the large size (with handles), storage bags work great. You can either vacuum or squeeze out all the air and they don't leak. NEVER waste your money on the Space Bag, they only take up space.

I bought several hundred dollars worth of this product and I PROMISE you it DOES NOT work. I spent half a day sealing and vacuuming comforters and pillows. By the next day they were all inflated and had even ripped a bag that they were stored inside. This is a huge scam, these are nothing but super expensive jumbo zip lock bags. As for the people defending this product, they are obviously connected to Space Bag in one way or another. It is quite simple: I bought approximately $300 worth of these bags, followed the directions strictly, did not overfill the bags, and even repacked several times, and they all failed! These kind of scams really upset me because no one is looking out for the consumer.

My husband was determined to try these bags. I too thought they might be a helpful solution to unused linens. I packed, per instructions, a comforter set, sucked out the air and placed the cap on. It looked great. I shoved it under my daughter's bed and forgot about it. Then I did some Christmas sweaters and other items in the other bags. About a week later I noticed the bag in my linen closet was no longer vacuum sealed. I started checking the others. All were the same. We re-did them all taped the caps on and the zip area. Same results. These things are a waste of your money. I cannot believe the people writing in defense of these things.

I have bought 2 boxes of the bags abd they absolutely suck! I packed all my stuck ion the bags, followed the instructions on several occassions. They all deflat after a few minutes to two days. I am so mad. I returned them and got others; still the same thing.

I first bught 2 large space bags at [] several years ago and they worked fine so I bought the informercial special two years ago...the zipper, most of them had a spot in the zipper that would not close. I was so frustrsted with this product. When I finally spoke to someone at the company the spent me more defective space bags to replace these.I went back to [] and bought some off the shelves. All were defective. I would also like to start a campaign to get this product removed from service.

I have tried to use Space Bags for several years now. Every time I try, they just end up inflated again! The zipper thing pops off and the seal breaks causing it to be come no more effective than a ziploc bag. I have found one way to make it work--Duck tape! If you put all of your stuff in the bag, then duck tape the bag shut with like 3 layers, then vaccum it out and duck tape the hole and the cap, it works for a while. Or you can do the same thing with a heavy duty trash bag, duck tape and a vaccum cleaner. It costs less and has the same result.

Some years ago I tried to use Space Bags to store my heavy blankets, followed instructions on how to suck air out using my vac. It never worked. Either I couldn't get all of the air out,or they re inflated soon after I stored them. Needless to say,I use plastic storage containers for my out of season items now. I always thought that it was something that I was doing wrong- after reading others experiencing the same results I do feel vindicated. How can they still be selling this product if so many of us find it to be a crock of crap?

Hi there, not much of a story to tell. I bought the amazing Space Bags and have tried to use them over and over again, and within a couple of days they were fully inflated again. Consumers: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, Its a total scam

I bought a couple of boxes of the space saver bags []. Understand, my problem is NOT with [], but the product itself. Hopefully I will be refunded my money. This product is a nightmare. I have tried several of the bags and only one has stayed airtight. Talk about a time and money waste. I have tried each bag a few times with no success. Also, as I have read through the complaints, some people have had the bags tear. I couldn't keep the air sucked out long enough for the product to tear. I have sent this link to almost everybody in my mailing list. I think that every consumer that runs into products like this should take some kind of action. This is mine. I did get a response from [] but it is a holiday weekend. I was asked to go directly to the maker of the product. I did also email [] this link so he/she might think twice about selling products that are only going to give him/her a headache. Thanks for listening and please forward this link on.

I purchased 4 space bags, 3 of them the zipper did not work, so I taped it shut and it still leaked. Threw those out and got new ones, well the zipper worked but after a week or so the air is back in them and they are no longer flat....all 4 of the new ones. Everything on this website complaining about this product is what I have also experienced. Wish I could find the sales reciept!

IT'S NOT WORKING I bought one combo pack from [] that come with large size bags, extra large size bag and travel ones. There's only one bag working!!! I called Space Bag's customer service dept. First them blame me not doing it correctly. Then after following their instructions step by step over the phone and give all bags a 24 hour "test", they all failed again. They finally agreed to send me replacements. Believe it or not, all but one of those replacements failed, too. I can not belive the defective rate on this product, it's like 90%. If you are thinking getting one, DON'T. If you have defective ones and try to call them to get replacement like I did, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Take it back to the store, get your money back and never ever touch this product again.

I bought this during a sale at []. It was 2 bags for the price of 1. Wish I never bought em, after I got them home and "attempted to use them"!!! The plastic is very cheap. They rip open when you touch them, it seems. The zipper would seldom work and seal the bag shut. I had to use my fingers to seal it like a Zip-Loc bag. The suction on the bag------FORGET IT-------it just would NEVER work as they advertise. I could not once, get the bad to deflate!!! Do NOT waste your money----I bought the Hefty and Ziploc bags in their place. At least they seal and are stronger than this flimsy piece of so-called plastic!
