half of me likes my tempur pedic half of me HATES it. ive had mine since august 07 as of april 08 it still smells! a hospital plastic smell that sometimes keeps me awake. it does make me sweat. so bad that ive had to use lighter weight blankets and the constant use of a fan. i sleep most nights pretty well but unfortunetly my husband is hevier and he hates it. he feels like hes in a pit. if iam not in bed he will roll from one side to the other to get out of his pit onto the other side and back again but when i get in he cant do that. opps .he so mad he wants to throw it out! but i bought so i wont let him but i guess i should have spent more and bought the new new deluxe the "oprah" model its denser for hevier people. but i thought the deluxe was enough. i guess not

I purchased a Tempur_pedic Mattress a little over 3 years ago after all the hype in the ads and a few referrals from people that had them. Hands down this is the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever had. Cant wait to get up in the morning to get out of it. At first after purchasing I thought it was just a matter of getting used to, as time went on it never improved. Today after spending close to $2500.00 on a Tempur-Pedic I am going to purchase another mattress and good ridins to this piece of crap.

Wife and I purchased a the most frim king size T-P available 2 years age. We love it. So, we wanted another one for our second bedroom where I have to go when snoring... We purchased a classic queen, delivered on 4 March 08. We have slept on it 10 days are are knocked over by the smell of the thing. We can't recall the king mattress smelling this way from the get go. We are now negotiating with the store for a replacement. I want to know if anyone out there ever had one of these where the smell didn't go away???

I purchased my queen-sized tempurpedic mattress in 2001 and was told at that time by the salesperson that it would never depress. She had one for ten years and it still was perfect. It came with a 20-year warranty which was even better. Sad to say, it now has a me-sized depression in it, so I roll to the middle when I get in and I cannot sleep on my stomach without feeling bent backwards. When I asked the company to honor my warranty, they required I photo the mattress on the floor with the cover removed, placing a yardstick across the mattress with a quarter leaning on it to show the depth of the depression. I don't know about you, but I weigh substantially more than a quarter so find this an odd comparison. If you have hot flashes, then this bed is not for you as it retains heat and I have lost many nights' sleep from not being able to cool off. I will send in all my information, but I don't hold much hope that I will have any satisfaction from the company. I think warranties should be honored and I'm afraid this one just won't be.

I returned mine, because although it was comfortable, it increased sweating, and gave off what they call "off-gassing" where the material it's made of breaks down and deteriorates. I went and got a latex mattress instead and it is Sooo much better!

My mother bought a tempur-pedic mattress over a year ago. She has hip and knee injuries. At first, she thought it was great but that lasted about 2 weeks. She said it was way too firm and didn't mold to her shape. She returned it and got a replacement. She says the new one is OK but not great, certainly not worth the $$$. Personally, I don't like it. I took a nap on it once while visiting and woke up sweaty! It retains your body heat a lot. And I basically sleep on my back and don't move so after 1/2 hour I was drenched. I like my regular mattress with a pillow top; I had a thick mattress pad on top of it which I change out every year. I also flip my mattress every 3 months and have had no complaints in the 6 years I've owned it. Buyer Beware!!!

We bought a kingsize Temperpedic mattress. It was the most expensive mattress in the store. The tv ads looked so good. My wife and I both have bad backs. I have had three back operations. We found the mattress very uncomfortable. It was simply too stiff. We like it cool in the house for sleeping. Maybe the foam would be softer if it was 80 in the house, not sure. We were also told to let our body get used to it. Unfortunately, we kept it past the return date. We went back to the store and told the salesman about the bed. They would not take it back. We said that we wanted a regular mattress and would just give the foam one to charity. We did get a discount on the regualr mattress. The salesman did admit (after our new purchase) that several customers had the same problem with the foam being too stiff. He said that he had heard that Temperpedic was working on a softer model because of consumer complaints. Too bad we jumped on buying so fast.

After carefully studying all that was out there on the mattress and speaking numerous times with the sales person, I purchased their mattress. I retuned it before the 60 days was up even though I had been given 120 days. I was having tension headaches from the pillow they 'gave' me and my back and neck were very sore from sleeping on the mattress. It does hold the heat, and I sleep with a fan blowing on the bed and have my air conditioner set low. Was told that I would need to make the room warmer to warm up the mattress to make it softer - in the middle of summer!!! After 6 weeks the matterss was no more comfortable than it was the first night. Was nothing like the one in the store. I spoke to the saleman and he said that I needed to break the bed in and suggested I walk all over the mattress to 'breask it in'. I was told my body would have to get used to the mattress and then I would love it. I finally had them come pick up the mattress and refund my money. I had no problems as I had purchased mine from a furniture store that sold the mattress locally. If you are not comfortable after the first week you should return it. I think you should know after the first night whether you like sleeping on it. There saying you have to adjust to it is another way of saying to just get used to it. I would not reccommend anyone buying this mattress. Make sure to buy from someone locally, not through tv or computer, where you can get a better return policy.

I purchase a tempupedic mattress...it was very uncomfortable...it really was too hot to sleep on it...but the worse part was that after a few months, I turned the mattress upside down and lo and behold...there were mites of some kind incubating inside of the mattress...I had to get it out side of the house immediately...I had a hard time sleeping after that, thinking that all of my bedding must be mite infested too...so I gave all my bedding a hot hot wash and a rinse...even though I did not see any evidence of an infestation in my original mattress and bedding...Horrors horrors horrors.

We bought one of these... they are pricey , but they were strongly promoting that they had a 60 day trial period, so, why not ? It took a long, long time for it to be delivered. They deliver it with third party trucking firms, I think, because after returning from a holiday vacation we found the wet box sitting outside our door. That was no problem...the thing is made of foam, right, so rain doesn't hurt it. After about a month, I called the 800 number back, got transferred to a different number and told them that the mattress was just too hot and hard for me...the thing doesn't "breathe" and it just felt like laying on a hard lump of foam. They told me I should wait for the entire 60 day period, that it needed that long to "learn" my body and that it would become more comfortable over time. I asked if the 60 day period started when I received delivery.... I had no idea when they delivered the mattress. I told them what day I unpacked it and started using it and they said 60 days from that date. A month later I e-mailed them and asked them to pick up the mattress. I was within the 60 day period...I thought... but no, they said that the 60 day period had expired the day before. tough luck! I explained how I was counting the 60 days and asked to talk to a manager... sorry, not possible. These guys are shysters. I will sell this for half price to anyone out there.
