Please refer to my other posting from 1/22/08. I did in fact receive TWO Tobi Steamers. I did send one to my son as I promised him. I contacted Tobi customer service again wanting to return one Tobi steamer. I was told they had my complaint on file. I asked for a prepaid return label for the return and was told they would get it right out to me and that was three weeks ago. I told them not to extract any more money from my account and they promised that would not happen. I am still waiting for my return Labels. Every time I have tried their Customer Service Department and tell them what it is I am calling about, I get a story about computers being down and upgrading, or just computers being down and them not being able to bring up my information. Tobi has hit my bank account again for another $59.95. I am really nervous now. Someone please put a stop to this companies actions. Should the FBI get involved, these people are extracting money from bank accounts, and not honoring anything that they are saying by phone. I live on Eastern Standard time and never had a problem reaching the phone number I have. Now their new hours of operation are between 7AM and 4PM Pacific time 800-554-6051, the number that shows up on the bank record. That is 4AM to 1 PM Eastern time. While I am busy getting ready for work in the morning, I have to be inconvenienced trying to get through to TOBI CS. The Gig is up! If anyone knows of a Class Action Suit going forward on this company, I want to know about it. I have to see what Channel on TV they are advertising on, they need to be pulled off and soon. This company is ripping off the public and getting away with it. TOBI IS A SCAM! Buyers Beware! Someone Please shut this place down and help the public get their money back. Please HELP!

This is a follow up to an earlier post on 12/31/2007. Since the earlier post I received a confirmation that my order has been shipped on 01/10/2008 I did in fact receive a box on 01/31/2008 which I accepted and then promptly called UPS to come and get it...at my $54 expense of course. I Sent the box back to the TOBI California address and received a signature from UPS confirming that in fact it had been recieved. I had earlier disputed the credit card charge (which has been removed from my credit card account) and then cancelled that card as well out of fear of theses people. Sure enough I get a letter from TOBI saying that they have been unable to collect thru my old card and that I need to send them a cashiers check for $89 (they don't even say what the $89 is for) or they will hand over the bill to a collection agency. WHAT A COMPLETE SCAM!! I am so mad at these folks!! I have tried numerous times to reach their customer service by phone. I hope a least this information will help someone else avoid all the headaches the people have given me. I am really amazed that a company can operate this way in this day!

I ORDERED THE TOBI ONLINE AND CHANGED MY MIND THE NEXT DAY. I EMAILED THEM AND ASKED TO HAVE THE ORDER CANCELLED. SINCE THEY CLAIMED THE PRODUCT IS SHIPPED IN SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS I FIGURED I WAS SAFE TO CANCEL. THE NEXT WEEK IN COMES NOT ONLY ONE TOBI BUT TWO AND A TOBI TREE. I AGAIN EMAILED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASKED THEM HOW TO RETURN THE TOBIS TO THEM. IT TOOK A FEW DAYS FOR THEM TO RESPOND AND WHEN THE DID THEY EMAILED THAT I SHOULD CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IN CA AND GET RETURN INSTRUCTIONS. I DID CALL AND WAS BEGGED TO KEEP THE PRODUCTS BUT I INSISTED THAT I MUST RETURN THEM. I WAS TOLD TO WRITE MY ORDER NUMBER ON THE PACKAGES AND GET SHIPPING DELIVERY CONFIRMATION FROM THE SHIPPING AGENT. I SHIPPED WITH UPS AND WILL GET A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM THEM. MY GRIPE IS THAT AFTER I TALKED WITH THE TOBI REPRESENTATIVE AND CONFIRMED THAT I WAS SENDING THE PRODUCTS BACK THEY BILLED MY CREDIT CARD AGAIN!
SO IN FEAR I CHECKED OUT SCAMS ONLINE AND LOW AND BEHOLD THEY ARE LISTED HERE. I HAVE CANCELLED MY CREDIT CARD SO THEY WILL NOT GET ANOTHER DIME OUT OF ME BUT I DOUBT I WILL EVER SEE THE MONEY THEY CHARGED ME AND I'M OUT THE $45.00 FOR SHIPPING.

I have been EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY disappointed and frustrated with the quality of customer service I have received regarding my Tobi purchasing experience. Below, I have chronicled the events and many customer service interactions I have experienced and, to-date, have received NO resolution to my issue. 11/17/07 - Ordered The Tobi Steamer (only). 12/4/07 - Called to inquire about charge of $93.35 to my account, which was $29.95 more than authorized. Was told by Eric that the Tobi Tree was added to my order (I did not order the Tree!). Eric advised that I reject the Tree when received and my account would be credited. 12/14/07 - Called for shipment status, as Tobi Steamer still not received. Was told by Nick that both the Tobi Steamer and Tree had shipped and was provided with tracking numbers (one of which was incorrect and was never able to track location). 12/21/07 - Rejected unopened Tobi Tree at post office. 12/28/07 - Rejected unopened Tobi Steamer at post office. 12/29/07 - Bank account charged for 2nd installment of $29.95. 1/4/08 - Called for status of returned items. After waiting to speak with a rep for OVER AN HOUR was told by Jim that order had not yet been received but that he set up a return order in anticipation of the packages. 1/10/08 - Called for status of returned items. Was told by David that packages had not yet been received. 1/22/08 - Called for status of returned items. Was told by Connor that both items had just been received on 1/22/08, that he would process the return order, and that it would take ANOTHER 20-25 business days for the refund to post to my account. Was also ASSURED by Connor that the remaining $29.95 installment would NOT post to my account. 1/29/08 - Remaining $29.95 installment posted to my account and STILL NO REFUND OF ORIGINAL $123.30 OWED TO ME!!! 1/29/08 - Called Tobi customer service at 1:15 p.m. EST, still waiting for a representative at 2:15 p.m.! Was hung up on after waiting over an hour (at 2:22 p.m.). Called back, was told system was down and to call back later because there was no way to access my account. Sent a request for follow up via Tobi website form - no response received. 1/30/08 - Called Tobi customer service and spoke with Chad. He was not able to explain why I had been charged for a third installment although items were returned and I had been assured that I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED. I then asked to speak with supervisor. Kevin Smith (supervisor) reviewed my account, explained that return authorization and third installment had likely “crossed paths” and that I should receive my refund within 10 business days (by February 2 or 3, 2008). I also submitted another request via the website – no response received. 2/2/08 and 2/5/08 - Received responses to my website e-mails directing me to call the absolutely HELPLESS customer service number that I've been dealing with! 2/8/08 – Spoke with Ed regarding status of refund. Still not processed. Was hung up on before I was able to get resolution on timing. Called back and spoke with Wayne. He plans to escalate matter to Corporate office and senior management. Should expect a call from senior management shortly. Was told I could contact Corporate office senior management department at 800-259-1652. This is (again) the same DREADED line that I have been dealing with for three months now! As you might imagine, this has been the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I have ever had. I feel like I have been more than patient with this very convoluted process at Tobi. At this point, it seems Tobi has taken my money and now refuses to refund it, despite my return of the merchandise and various efforts. I am considering involving my attorney in this matter. If my attorney is needed, I will seek damages covering legal fees, any bank charges associated with the UNAUTHORIZED TOBI CHARGES, as well as for the personal time invested in trying to resolve this matter. Avoid purchasing the Tobi Steamer at all costs via telephone or e-mail! If you must try it, I suggest going to []. At least you can likely return it you're not satisfied and receive a refund in a reasonable amount of time.

For sure this product is a scam. I am reading reviews posted which are very similar to my experience. I bought one in December 2007 and returned it one week later. I tracked the package back to their warehouse through the postal service, however nobody contacted me. After a month, I received a phone call from a man who barely spoke English and he identified himself as being from Tobi. I told him I returned it and asked if he is calling me about my refund? He immediately became rude and rushed me off the phone after giving me the customer service number. I phoned them and I gave them the tracking number. They told me I will get a refund within a few days. It's been two weeks now and instead, they sent me a letter saying I need to pay them or else they will send this to a collection agency. I tried phoning them today, and they said I need to pay the full amount before I get a refund (I opted for the 4 payment plan.) I told them that's the silliest thing I have ever heard, and they could not help me and I must deal with a customer service number which only goes to voicemail. We've left a message for them, and now I after reading these complaints, I am seeking out some form of class action against Tobi. It sounds like it's always the same people answering the phones. I also urge the Canadian customers to report this to [] . They investigate all telephone and internet scams. The product was nothing like what the infomercial stated.

I saw the advertisement about the tobi steamer on tv and a couple of weeks later I went on line to ordered it. I ordered 2 of them and paid in full with my debit card.A couple of weeks later recieved a email of confirmation that it was paid in full and that my tobi should arrive soon. Well when I recieved them I was totally disappointed and regretted that I had bought 2 of them. First of all this tobi is a scam because it is a piece of - - - - ! It doesn't take any wrinkles out it just makes your clothes wet and look worse. On top of this false advertisement they overcharge my debit card twice of $29.95 and I tried to call them and first there was no answer for several weeks then I tried to call again, finally I gave up and emailed them and they never emailed me back. Then I went to the bank to report this and said it was better to change the account., well to be on the safe side I closed out my account.
It has been almost 5 months now after I paid for 2 tobi's and sent me a letter saying that I owe them another $29.95 or they will report me to a collection agency, I was so pisted that I called the 800 910-8881 number and a guy comes on couldn't even speak english and I barely understood him and when you call usually the annoucment would say the company's name for example: You have reached so and so company well tobi wasn't even mentioned that's when I knew for a fact that this company is nothing but a scam and i will never order anything else from tv or online again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased the steamer in August of 07, luckily I dont have a horror story like you all, I ordered one did the monthly plan got the tobi and I agree it is not at all what it was described to be at all! the travel steamer is complete garbage as to all it does is wet your clothes. My debit card got messed up so I got a new card, well there for Tobi couldnt receive its final payment bc the card they had no longer exists. they sent me a email saying if i didnt pay they would send it to some debt collector place blah blah so should I not pay my final payment? I am afraid I will give them my new info and they will bill me incorrectly!

This is further to my posting on 1/3. I can't believe what Tobi is doing now. I've been busy and haven't had time to report Tobi. Lately I've been getting voicemails and a letter from them saying that I have a balance of $59.90. I do not understand what the charge is for. I ordered 1 unit and they sent me 2 and charged me for 2 on my credit card, and now they're saying that I owe them money?! They already charged me an additional $29.95 for no reason and that's when I canceled my card. Now they're saying I owe them $59.90. I tried calling the 1-800 number and nobody picked up for half an hour. I really truly regret ever ordering the Tobi.

I, too, purchased this steamer. The same day I ordered it I tried to cancel it, but no luck. Three weeks later 2 of them arrived, I only ordered 1, and yes I was charged for 2. Called Cust. Serv.immediately to complain and re-quest a pre-paid return label. The rep apologized and said he'd send one out and I should receive it within 10 days. Note: Getting thru to this customer service department is a nightmare in itself.I then unpacked the one Toby I intended to keep. To sum it up,its crap. It sure didn't work for me as it well as it did on TV. I could have ironed 5 items by the time I got one shirt steamed, and it was still wrinkled. You can't control the item your steaming, it swings on a hook and there is no way to get the cuffs or collar good, unless you could lay it flat and then steam it. I should have known it was too good to be true. But the most frustrating part is, as I said, getting your money back and trying to get through to the customer service department. Shame on the Toby Company for misleading me and employing no-minds to handle the customer service department.Save your time and money on this one. Go to [] and get one of their steamers. At least you can get immediate service.

I ordered Tobi 1/6/08. I received a confirmation with no confirmation # or order details. On 1/22/08 a charge was made on my debit card for $99.83. It was only supposed to be for $59.95, One payment and the shipping, as I had chosen the 4 payment option. I immediately called the 800-796-4431 # and got a person who I could barely understand on the phone. I wanted to know what the $99.83 consisted of as far as payments. I was told that a payment was taken out for each Tobi and their shipping charges. I said "whoa!" What do you mean each Tobi, I only ordered one and I was having it shipped to my son in Nevada. I asked the person on the phone to please cancel one because there was an error. He refused and said there was no way to cancel, and that I was the one who had ordered two so why should he have to cancel one. I said no, that is not correct. After much bantering back and forth, and threatening him with every agency I could think of, and asking to speak to a Manager, I was told he had no authority to put me through to a Manager. I told him, as long as they were extracting money from my bank account, I had every right to speak to a manager. He outright refused. This went on for 24 minutes, and finally I believe just to get me off the phone he agreed to cancel one if they hadn't shipped yet. I know what that means, I am in big trouble and am still getting two. I have a feeling I will have to go through the inconvenience of closing my bank account to ward off any more withdrawals. He was not even slightly affected by my threats of reporting their company, as he said that was fine because they deal with them all the time. Why after all the complaints I have finally seen on here, are they even allowed to advertise on TV. I really believed this was a legitimate company with a decent product. Not only that but they didn't even have the correct shipping address. That was really scarry because they would have told me they shipped it and I would never receive it. But I am sure this is not over. Why hasn't anyone shut these people down? I am yet to receive the product, but after all I have read on this site, I am not expecting a good experience with this product. Can someone tell me the phone number of their home office, or address. This was not a good product ordering experience at all. I think it is a scam! Thanks, Kathleen

It's funny how it's not until you have a major issue you start researching the internet for others with the same problem. I guess we should do that first. I too ordered and received the Tobi. It was a gift for my daughter. Needless to say it did not work anything like the infocommerical. I called customer service. They said I must have received a defective one. However, that too did not work. They told me that I could return them both but I would have to pay for the return of the second unit. I agree they are Crooks. They know their product does not work as it says. I also had to cancel my credit card to stop the deductions. They have since credited my account for the worthless product. Lesson learned. Research before buying.

My husband purchased the Tobi Steamer on 12/14/07. It arrived late after Christmas and spending an additional rush $9.95 s/h. The parts were missing for the upholstery attachment and the carrying bag was also missing. The order was also missing the "free travel steamer" which is NOT free as they charge an additional $13.95 shipping charge. The steamer has poor instructions and the CD that came with it does not open on my new computer at all. I called and got a guy that can hardly speak English and he babbled that he was sorry and that he tried to sell me some knives in addition to my problem. It was the WORST customer service department ever. I believe it is routed to INDIA. I am going to call directly to the company office in California to complain. Do not call the 1-800# as you get routed outside the USA. The extra package for the Tree was flimsey and does not hold up the clothes and keeps slipping down. My husband got the additional 3 year warranty which is worthless also. I guess we just will throw it out and throw away $209.13 as well. I am really mad. I will never buy anything from ONTV again. I will only buy in local stores with a person that I can actually deal with.

My mother ordered one of these things over the phone on 1-10-08, giving them bank information. 5 minutes after she placed her order I got a call from a guy in India asking for account verification for the order; I hung up on him. I took her to her bank today and the manager told us that these companies sell your credit/bank info to pretty much anyone. I read Holly's letter and this "Jack" might not be a hacker, but someone who bought the list. We've had to change bank accounts to prevent potential thievery. Good Luck!

I placed an order for 1 Tobi last Thursday. On Friday I got a call from a guy named "Jack" who claimed to work for the company. He said that they were having computer problems and would have to run my credit card again in order to process my order. By doing so he promised me free expidited shipping for my troubles. I didn't feel comfortable giving him my credit card info over the phone (thank goodness!) so I called Tobi customer service to check the status of my order. They said everything was fine, so I know that "Jack" was a hacker that got into their website and stole my info. He had everything except my credit card info! Next I sent them an online message from their "Comment" section on their website, telling them about the potential hacker. I had to fill out my name, address, phone & email in order to send them my message. The very next day I got another call from "Jack" who tried to sell me a Tobi again with free shipping!!! He did not realize that he had already called me the day before. I laid into him big time and told him I was on to his scam!! I tried to call Tobi to cancel my order but waited too long on their customer service line. I ended up just cancelling my credit card instead so they can not charge me. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! After all this I did a google search on "Tobi Scams" and found this website. I'm so amazed at all of this!!
