I ordered in Sept of 07.If I had visisted this website I would of never ordered. First Tobi I sent back, didn't have enough steam to remove a wrinkle and certainly not enough to go through a pillow. Sent it back and received another one with same problem. Sent it back and demanded my money, to no avail, I've been on hold with customer service up to 1 hr, and you can never speak to a manager or supervisor, I guess non existant. They always say they are sorry, I am so sick of dealing with them. Finally I got a refund to my account of 89.95 in Jan but on the same day they charged me another 29.95 which I have to fight for now. The worst product, company and definetly the worst customer service. Even the Fax numbers they give you are bogus.

Liek the rest of the people that complained. I also receieved 2 and ordered only one. I returned one and sent ceertified letters. I also sent and email to their customer Service dept. I have been charged an additional $29.95 which i have demanded a refund for the returned steamer and the addiditonal charge. Still waiting. It's not worth this much aggravation. Don't even consider purchasing this product.

I, along with many others, was fooled by the infomercial. I went online and ordered 1 unit, and received 2. Now I know it's a scam!!! The device looks cheap, and is not as lightweight as I expected. The steam is so weak I have to press it directly on my clothes, making them damp and still wrinkled! Worst part was a few weeks after purchasing the product, I received a call from a telemarketing representative saying she got my information from The Tobi and tried to push me to sign up for a $29.95 a month program. When I said no, she hung up on me. Next thing I knew, I got a charge on my online statement for $29.95! I'm disputing the statement. I do not recommend the Tobi to anyone!

I have a similar story to all the rest. I ordered 1 and received 2. They do not respond to email that are sent though their website. I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw my credit card bill and emailed them right away. When I received 2 instead of 1 I realized the error that happened and emailed again to ask about the return process. I decided to return both after trying the steamer which did not work well at all. My iron is faster and better at removing wrinkles. I received no responses to my emails so I called. I was on hold for over 1/2 an hour before getting someone. They insist that I ordered 2. I was put on hold repeatedly because their system was slow. I finally received a return number and instructions for return. I really hope it works and that I get my refund.

I think we all need to get together and have a suit against this company. These people need to be stopped and we all need to be refunded. When I did finally get in touch with the first rep I kept telling her I did not order 2 and she kept insisting that I keep both units instead of getting a refund. They are very tricky and scamming. If anyone knows anything and where to get help please please send me the info and I will do the same for you. Thanks, [] I ordered the Tobi and was sent 2 units insteads of one. The stories are the same as all the rest you are reading. I also tried to call and after staying online for ever I never got ahold of anyone so I kept calling and they were never opened the hours they claimed. Also they were rude, if you could ever get anyone on the phone. I have also sent several emails requesting someone call me or email me back and to date no response. Today I was credited 29.95 for what I do not know. Following is the letter that I sent to them and if we all were to get together and call every one we know, TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, maybe they would get their #$%^ straight.Their webpage is designed to make errors where more than one unit is ordered and your charged for all if not more money than you should have been. I signed up for the payment plan and never was put on that either. I have recently returned a Tobi unit and your company has received it. I was sent 2 units in error, I wanted the monthly payments on the unit I ordered and when the order was processed I was not only sent 2 units but also charged 193. and some change. I called spoke to a rep she said to just do a RTS (return to shipper) on one unit and the USPS would send it back, when I finally received the units they were shipped in the same box. I then returned 1 unit by delivery confirmation and was told by a rep that I would be credited 119.80. I checked my account this evening and I was only credited 29.00 and some change. Can you please have a rep contact me asap, I need to know what is going on and why I have not been fully refunded for the extra unit? I have had nothing but problems with this order. One of the reps I talked to was so rude I hung up on him. I feel I should not have had to pay for returning the extra unit I did not order, but I have and now I want the 119.80 immediately. If this matter is not taken care of soon I will be forced to take further action against your company. I will also follow up with calls to the TV stations that air your commercial and the Attorney Generals office, the Better Business Bureau, Oprah, The Today show, Good Morning America and anyone else I can think of including putting an ad on the internet under consumer reports. I probably am not the only one who has had these issues. I sat on hold for over 20 minutes and that was just one of the calls trying to get through to your company. I have sent several emails and no one has contacted me as requested. This will be my last email to you, I WILL TAKE FURTHER ACTION IF NECCESSARY. Thank You, Denise

I called and ordered the steamer at the end of September. I looked it up on the internet and read the complaints from others. I called back to cancel the order and was told I had to wait 7 days. I received the item in 2 weeks. I received 2. They first took out the 119.00 plus a service contract of 29.98 for 2. I called and told them I only ordered 1 and got 2 and was sending them back. They said they would send me a return lable which I never received. I finally returned the pair. They still took out another payment of 59.00 I called with the ups tracking number they said they received the items. They took out another payment of 59.00. I had my bank cancel my debit card and placed an official complaint. My bank refunded my money and are trying to get the money back from their bank. This company should be stopped from taking advantage of the public. There is litterally thousands who have been ripped off from this.

TOBI is an unbelievable Scam! I contacted them right after opening, assembling and trying my TOBI. I was told I could either wait for a UPS return label or return the item by UPS at my own cost, which is what I decided to do so I would have proof I returned the TOBI. This was on October 22. I still have not received the credit for returning it. My wife refused delivery of the back ordered TOBI travel steamer ( a mistake, because now there is no proof it was returned), and they claim they never received it back from the post office! Now I am getting a reoccurring charge for $29.95 each month on my credit card! I though I beat them to the punch when I closed my card account today, and would you believe they had already, just today charged me another $29.95! I still have no idea what the $29.95 is for! Some dispute resolving company the credit card company uses says that TOBI was able to prove they never received the refused item! TOBI is a SCAM Artist company from the word go!!! I will be contacting every agency I can to try and get these scam artists put out of business!

Report these people to the California States Attorneys Office, the BBB, State Ag and the Post Office. They are a complete "Scam". When going through the order process online I expected to get a review order page. Instead after entering my credit card number number and moving forward to process the order I got nothing...thats it!!.. order will be shipped...I was like whoa...where is my total. taxes, etc. I recieved an e-mail a few seconds later confirming my order and that it would be shipped in 4-8 weeks but again no dollar amount or anything. Of course the red flags are going up everywhere at this point so I immediatly call in to cancel my order. I do talk with a lady and she says that she can't cancel my order that I will have to call back in two days. I argued a bit with her but she assured me that it would not be a problem. I also e-mailed customer service within minutes of placing my order telling them to cancel my order. I then spent a few minutes online and found this site. Needless to say after reading the reviews I knew I was going to have a hard time. I called the next day and spoke with customer service. The connection was bad and CSR claimed that their computers were down and he could not cancel my order but that I should call back in a few hours and he would be able to do it then. I wrote several more e-mail letters to customer service to request at least a follow up e-mail confirming that my order has been cancelled. Today I received an e-amil saying "sorry your order has been shipped" I checked my credit card and there was a $198 charge. This is a complete scam to at least capture shipping charges and pay a few commissions and then hold the consumer hostage by charging their credit cards and making the consumer send back the merchandise but run up the shipping charges. These folks need to be stopped and the only way is if everyone reports them to the the State Attorney.

Purchased 1 Tobi, received and was charged for 2. Tried the product, burnt my hand as it dripped. Called spoke to Austin at X0501, advised him that I only ordered 1 and didn't like the other, he sent me a UPS return label. I returned both including the travel steamers. Today looking at my credit card statements, they charged me again $29.95. I called to find out why they charged me again and why no refund. After 25 minutes of holding Delsin told me they charged me for the label and have not received the package. Austin never told me I would be charged for the label and I had the ups tracking info. After advising them I was calling the States Attorney, Delsin put me on hold, after 5 minutes, he came back on the line stating I would be receiving $269.55 back in 10 days 10/10/08. I followed up with a email to the customer service department reiterating this to them. Time will tell if I get it back.

I tried to order one Tobi steamer online and when I called to confirm this order I was told that I will be sent 2. When I called the next mornng and told the representative (Joseph) that I only ordered 1, he told me "well too bad your getting 2 we already shipped it" I asked to speak to a supervisor and Joseph said "no" when I asked him why not? He responded with "he is too busy to take your call"

My experience with the Tobi-steamer sounds much like all your other cimplaints.A scam. I order 2 and got 3 I paid in full. But I am being charged $ 389.83. I was impressed by Kristen who was actually able to reach someone. and Doris was abe to get a refund.Joseph letter of getting a return lable. That part on mine was already removed from the lable. but in very fine print it said #3.Insure the package&keep the recipt. We are not responsible for lost packages.I knew then I was in trouble. Kevin the # I was given was 800-796-4431 no help there either.I as Subrina order the steamer for my daughter in- law and husband who both work in an office setting. I after seeing the Tobi on line debated severl weeks as to order it. Then I thought what a good gift for my daughter in law and myself. I went on line. But something in my gutt kept say dont do this. After several long minutes. I said to myself just do it. It looks like a great time saver. After clicking the send button. I wished I hadn't. I tryed for several days to reach them to cancell my order. I could not reach any one. Again I knew I this was bad. My home # must of been in their system as an all ready placed order (or should I say target) because no one called me back. The steamer is NOTHING like it shows on tv. And there is no customer service department. I am very surprised at those of you who was able to reach someone. I am happy that I google Tobi to find another way of contacting them. This is how I found this site. (As my hart went into my stomach) I only wished I would of done it before I ordered. I don't know why this product is still being able to be shown on tv. The station should be a shame of it self. I will never order anything from tv again. I only hope someone will stop this company and we all get our money back.

I too received 2 tobi steamers when I only ordered 1. I was billed $217 and was sent a receipt that showed I had a balance of $89. I've tried calling their customer service number several times and cannot get a hold of anyone. DO NOT order the TOBI. Tobi is a scam...

12/8/2007 - Chris writes:
Short story is that we received the TOBI, tried it and it did not perform as expected. Returned it with UPS tracking and after three attempts we have not received our refund. My question about this is why it wold not be feasible for a States Attorney General or even the US Attorney General to get involved to shut down this organization. It seems Interstate fraud would come to mind. Anyway I have put a stop payment on my account and do not expect to get a refund. Looks like we can just chalk this one up to life experience.

I ordered a Tobi online on a friday after seeing the infomercial. The webpage gave you no total before submitting card number and no printable receipt page for records. The "confirmation" e-mail had no numbers it just said will ship with in several weeks. I quickly got on line and found these reviews. I called to cancel and my info was not updated on the computer and to call back in 24-48 hours. I called back on monday and miracously the order that was supposed to take weeks had already shipped. Told me to refuse the order and they would credit my card back. Waited on hold for 20 min to speak to someone and then they acted like they couldn't hear me and hung up. I was on a landline. I work at my bank and i stopped payment immediately. I will still refuse the shipment if it has already shipped which i doubt. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS.

I've never been angrier at a company in my life than I am with tobi. At this point I have no reason to believe the company is anything more than a scam. One Saturday a.m. in October I ordered ONE tobi steamer (Order No. []). That same afternoon someone from Tobi called back and "said" my first order didn't go through and I'd need to reorder and then Tobi proceeded to FRAUDULENTLY charge a 2nd tobi to my credit card. I returned the tobi that I ordered on October 20 ([]) and UPS tracking confirms you received it on October 26. THEN when I'd spent all the time I wanted to with tobi, another tobi arrives. I shipped the tobi you FRAUDULENTLY ordered (Order #[]) back UNOPENED on November 3 ([]) and UPS tracking confirms you received it on November 9. On top of all my phone time and trouble, I had to pay the $14.88 shipping to return the tobi I did not order. On November 3, Ben, Station ID 0611, said he understood my concerns and that refund no. [] in the amount of $308.58 would be credited to my account. Today, NOVEMBER 30, I received my credit card bill, and there is no credit. There is however, a second FRAUDULENT charge of $17 something for a travel steamer that I did not order nor do I want.

Wow, I feel not so alone after reading these stories. I live in Canada. The tobi was a birthday present from my mother who also saw the infomercial and it looked like a great buy, that it would save time, kill dust mites etc. I ordered it August 25th. so originally the product cost $189. First time they shipped it to the wrong address which i didn't realize till I called them 4 weeks later. I finally recieved the Tobi in November!!! WITHOUT the travel steamer I was promised .. after about 3 or four phone calls totalling 2 or 3 hours of waiting and complaining to people who were reading off some sort of manuscript of how to answer questions without listening to what I was saying. So now I am on the phone again on hold for about 20 minutes because the product SUCKS. My fiance tried to iron a dress shirt ... he spent an hour on it .. he claims it looks the same ... and i have tried 2 cotton shirts .. and well it really makes no difference in my clothes too much. the steam is nowhere as powerful as it looks on the infomercial. I say its equivalent to going and getting a facial ... what a waste of my time.

When I wrote an email on 10/30/07 complaining about Tobi billing, I had not actually tried the product as it had not arrived yet. Since then, I received two Tobi systems, even though I only ordered one. I tried using the product. Steam emitted from a crack in the handle, burning my hand. I decided to give the system the benefit of the doubt, and tried again with a towel wrapped around the handle so I would not get burned. The Tobi DOES NOT remove wrinkles as the infomercial demonstrates. I recommend sticking with a standard steam iron.

They are thieves, never ever buy any product from them, I returned the Tobi I bought from them (big mistake, i should have kept it or junked it) since it has been 3 month and they never credited me back my money despite several phone calls from me and phony promises from them I dont advise any one to deal with this fraudulent company My God deal with their wicked ways

Well, I wish I had visited this website before I ordered a TOBI Steamer in the dead of night. Is there anyone who has actually only received one TOBI when they order one TOBI? I received two, wondering as I unpacked them why the company would even have shipping boxes for two products. Unbelievable. Then the billing/shipping page struck my eye...charged for two, charged for shipping, followed by both a TOTAL of $283.53 AND a BALANCE of $89.85! I haven't been in contact with my VISA company yet, but I hope I can at least stop them from additional charges. I am a state legislator in Washington State and I will be following up with my Attorney General's Office to file a consumer complaint. Then it will be on to determine if they have broken any current state laws here. If not, I'll be drafting one to protect consumers here in the future. I haven't even tried using the product yet!

I ORDERED THE TOBI STEAMER ON 9/10/07 AFTER WATCHING THE INFOMERCIAL ON T.V.. I OPTED TO MAKE ONE FULL PAYMENT, AND THEN WAS TOLD SHIPPING WOULD TAKE 3 WEEKS! SERVERAL WEEKS PASSED, NO STEAMER. I EMAILED THE COMPANY ASKING WHERE IT WAS, AND GOT NO RESPONSE. TODAY I DISCOVER IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS, STILL NO PRODUCT WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR. I AM SITTING ON HOLD WITH "CUSTOMER SERVICE" NOW FOR 38 MINUTES, WAITING FOR A SUPERVISOR AFTER BEING TOLD, IT WAS ALREADY SHIPPED AND RECEIVED. BY WHO? I NEVER SIGNED FOR IT OR GOT IT. I WAS THEN TOLD THEY COULD GIVE ME A TRACKING NUMBER SO I COULD FIND OUT WHERE IT WAS, AFTER THEY CONFIRMED MY ADDRESS. THAT IS NOT MY RESPONCIABLITY IT'S THEIR'S,I PAY, YOU DELIEVER! I WANT A REFUND FOR A PRODUCT I NEVER GOT. THEN I FIND THIS WEBSITE FILLED WITH COSTOMER COMPLAINTS. WHAT RIGHTS DO WE HAVE? AREN'T WE PROTECTED AS CUSTOMERS AGAINST SCAMMERS? HOW ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS COMPANY AND LET'S PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.
