I bought the TCP from the TV infomercial a little over a year ago for $130 plus shipping & handling. I'm too lazy to use the thing every day & ended up only using it a handful of times on 'special occasions', i.e. nite out on the town, sister's graduation, etc. Never been dropped or manhandled...for almost $150 bucks I was super careful with it! I went to use it last weekend &...nothing, zip, zero, nada. No power, no heat, no light. Checked it on mulitple outlets, pressed & released both the yellow & red buttons on the cord & still nothing. After reading the reviews here I see that this is a common problem. I can no longer find the TCP website despite my multiple google searches. After reading the nightmares here I don't expect to get a replacement much less a refund from the company, if I actually found them. I'm going to ask the mechanic at my work...who can pretty much fix antyhing...to look at it & see if he can fix it somehow. GRRRRRRR! Not worth the money!!!

I bought the TCP about 2 yrs ago, I too did not buy the warranty. Fortunately for me the 2nd time I plugged in the iron it made a loud pop and started smoking from the ceramic plates. I called the # and returned the iron, of course I had to pay the shipping. The rep told me I could keep the clips that pull my hair out, and the brush. The TCP was so hot on the handles that it melted my bathroom counter top, and I had the temp on a low-med setting! Well all I can say is that my $19.99 Vidal Sassoon flat iron has never failed and I've owned it for 7 yrs.

Hey guys... Who would have known there would be so many of us! So I bought this striaghtner, it was the best! I loved it. Then 3 months later when I would go to turn it on, no red light and no heat! I was pissed. Expecially after paying so much $$ I called customer service and they told me the same thing they told you all. That I did not buy the extended warrenty. So I asked for the young lady's supervisor. After holding for ten minutes a gentleman came on the phone and said he could do nothing, so I asked for his supervisor. He proceeded to tell me he did not have one! So I asked him if he owned the Co?! He said no, and so I asked him again, "let me speak to your supervisor." With hesitation, he put me through to her voicemail. I left an angry voicemail about reporting them to BBB, and this was 2 months ago.... Still have not had a return phone call! Do not buy this product! And for all you looking. The new customer service # is 1-800-901-5288.

I have a TCP and have not experienced the power problems or the chipping "yet". But the one complaint that I don't see on here is that the thing BURNS your fingers. They say that the outside of it stays cool, but that is completely false. It will burn you. Additionally, they give you a travel case that you are suppose to put it even when it is hot and it is suppose to protect things from getting burned. That doesn't work either. I put the iron in the case and set it on my bed and it burned right through the case and burned my comforter. I am very disappointed in this product, but won't be attempting to get a refund...that just sounds like it would lead to more frustration and no satisfaction. They should be completely ashamed that they blatantly lie on their commercials. I wish I had seen this site before I wasted my money.

I got the TCP for christias last year and i used every day, sometimes even more than once a day. And it seemed fine, worked fine, and i actually liked it. But, about a month ago i started to have problems with it. One day it just wouldnt turn on. I would flip the switch to on and the temperatire was set at what i usually have it at , but the red light wouldnt turn on and it wouldnt heat up. I figured out though, that if i pushed the on switch really far up and held it there that the light would turn on and it would heat up, but once i took my finger off the switch it wuld turn off again. I got really angry with it and stopped using it for about a week and went back to my old one. Then one day i tried it again and it worked. I was so happy because i liked the straightiner. But it happenbed again, about 2 weeks later. The same thing was happening. This time i decided i would stuff something in the little hole where the switch is, so when i switched it to on, i would put this little piece of paper in so it would hold the switch up. It worked for like a day. But now, it just straight up dosent work. No matter how hard i push the button in, or what way i rig the cord to go, nothing. This is a piece of junk. Dont buy it.

Ok. So here goes. I bought the product and it has been 7 months. The customer services number doesn't work and neither does the freakin' websites. The damn thing started giving off smoke and a weird gas just yesterday. Plus the ON/OFF switch doesn't move. I haven't done anything wrong to it!!! This thing is an effin' piece of shit!!!!!!! Nobody else should have to go through this. I say take the damn thing off market!

I ordered the TCP last September. It worked fine, I only used a few times. Then I noticed that it would act like it did not want to come on. Then it started to have this burning smell. So I stopped using it. Since, I did not order the warranty, I can not get a refund or a new one. This product is definitely a rip off and is not worth the money. However, I am reporting them to the BBB.

I too have been dooped by the outrages claims made by this product. Out if the goodness of his heart, my husband bought this product for myself and our daughter about 9 months ago. Yes it worked fine on our hair for the first month or so, then two things happened, the ceramic started to chip, then the power just stopped. I too called a CSR who informed me that I too had not purchased the warrenty, ( which we were never offered to begin with ) So we too am screwed out of $174.00 and noone within this company seems to give a rats ass how long the thing worked or what its malfunction was just so long as they have their money. First of all, had I known how much he paid for this, I would have said no way, but because I know how much it cost, made me real pissed when it broke and we can't get customer satisfaction from these rip off artists. They told me in short too bad so sad for you lady, we have your money, now take a hike! I hope one of these reps. mothers get ripped off like they're ripping us off and they get the same kind of bull shit when they try to get their money back. My husband works hard for his money and we are not a rich family, He did this out of kindness which makes it such a bitter pill to swallow because I feel like he tried to do a nice thing and now the thing won't even turn on and theres nothing we can do to get even some of our money back, let alone another iron. We got NOTHING! Stay clear of this product. If it sounds too goo to be true, you best believe it is. This is a complete lie and scam!

I never said how much it really coast and they are still taking money out of my checking account. I did not get all of the stuff that I saw on the infomerical and I can't believe this thing coast over $100.00!! I can't get intouch with them. Does anyone know how to get intouch with them and do you know how much this thing really costs. I will never buy any thing by way of internet any more I knew better.

I orderd the True Ceramic Pro online and did not receive it for about 3 months. Then, when I did receive it, I used it here and there (not everyday) and one day it just did not turn on. (I only had it for about 4 months). I called them and they said that they could do nothing because it had past the 30 day waranty. True Ceramic Pro is a rip off and I definately will be reporting them to the BBB. Do not buy it!

i saw the informercial on tv for the true ceramic pro. a $14.99 trial offer. so i went on line to order it, and found out it was going to cost me over $100.00. i did'nt expect it to cost that much, so i canceled the order. meanwhile i had already given my credit card number. there were 2 payments taken out of my credit card, and meanwhile i never recieved the item anyway. now i have call's coming in from collection agencies for the balance of the true ceramic pro, again which i had canceled and never even recieved. it's a scam if you ask me, and i'm having a hard time trying to contact the company to explain this rediculous situation. i will not pay for something i canceled and none the less never recieved. i don't know what to do, now my credit will be scarred because of this true ceramic pro product. they just want there money for something i don't have.

I saw the infomercial on TV and thought this was a great product. I paid my initial 14.99 and the shipping charges to get it for the 30 day trial, but declined the insurance. When I received my product the instructional DVD that came with the product didn't work, the product itself didnt' work and there was no information in the package (i.e. invoice slip, address to send back if you no longer wanted it or even if you had problems with the product. So, I went on the internet to try and find them so that they could give me a replacement product or a refund. All I came across was this website, so I canceled the credit card that I used to purchase it and still kept going on the internet to see if I could find this company. Never was able to pin point or find them, but they did call me to discuss the final payment on my product and I explained to them that the DVD didn't work and that I received my product broken. So, I asked if I could get the address so that I could send back the product and receive a new one. I was told that because I didn't purchase the insurance that I was not entitled to another one. I then asked how could I be held responsible for it being broken when I never got a chance to use it. Basically all the rep did was stay steadfast that I could not get another and that she couldn't do anything about the DVD either. So, in the end she wanted to know how soon could I pay the balance and I told her as soon as I get a working product and if I could not get a working product then I would like a refund. This company doesn't care if your product works or not all they care about is getting there money. They don't want to take any responsibility for something that is clearly there fault. I didnt' want my money back I just wanted to get a working product to use. They sit on TV and sell us hard working people lies. All the people want is the product that they advertise to work.

I purchased the true ceramic pro eight months ago. Recently, part of the reset button cover fell off and I called the company. They refused to issue another iron because they said I didn't purchase the extended warranty. I told them I was never offered an extended warranty. They said they would call me back to see if something could be done and I haven't heard from anyone. When I received the iron, I was very disappointed because it doesn't work anything at all like the infomercial portrays. It was an incredibly expensive iron, but after I realized it didn't work that well, I really didn't use it much, so it was in the box for several of those eight months. I wanted to report the company to the Better Business Bureau but there is no address listed on the paperwork I was sent with my iron. This is the first item I purchased from an infomercial and it will be the last. I do not reccomend this product at all. The Chi Iron is much better and much cheaper. True Ceramic Pro sucks.

My husband bought me the True Ceramic Pro and paid 174.00 for me as a present. I had it for about 5 months and it just died. I didn't know it cost that much or I wouldn't have asked him to get it for me. I received it after waiting forever to get it and absolutely loved it, til it died. I called the company and they told me my husband didn't purchase the extended warranty. So that's it? Obviously, there's a malfunction in it somewhere for all the complaints. If you pull up the True ceramic pro now, you can get it for 59.99 with a 2 year warranty. So how fair is that for the people who tried it first? Very disgusted, and what a way to run a business. Unacceptable. Susan from N.J.

I bought the true ceramic pro about 6 months ago. The day I received it and tried it out it did now work at all. I sent it back thinking maybe it was the temperature (winter) or something. I finally got another one back in the mail and used it for 4 months and it completely stopped working again. I was so incredibly angry that I paid payments and bought this expensive product and the second one I got in the mail still stopped working so soon. It was rediculous that this expensive product didn't come with a warranty ( you had to pay extra to get the extra warranty!! ) I will definitely NEVER buy a product from TV again no matter what it is thanks to the THEIFS of True ceramic pro!

My boyfriend bought me this product for valentines day 2007. Have used it maybe a total of ten times in all ...which now I read this site and that seems like alot compaired to most people. This morning I plugged it in and nothing it has stopped working all together. I am calling and searching every where and can't find a phone number to return it with its suppossed two year warranty. I am so mad its not funny. No one knows how to return or complain ...they only have places to order and for more people to become ripped off.

I purchased TCP in Nov of 2006 in March of 2007 it stopped working. It wouldn't turn on again. I sent it back to the company and received my replacement almost 6 weeks later. I have used my new TCP a total of 4 times and now the same problem is happening. The swivel is moved a certain way and it makes the TCP turn off and if you move it back and forth it will turn on but you have to hold it or it will turn off again. I love the iron and the way it makes my hair feel however it is poorly made and stops working after a few times of use. Don't buy this product. It takes forever and a day to receive it and then it stops working.

I was so excited when i got my TCP. I used it not more than 4 times until the wiring went crazy on me, and the only way for it to stay on was to turn it a certain way. i got mine around november and i waited for a long time to recieve the bill about 5 months went by and i still had not recieved a bill. Then next thingu know i recieved a bill from collections making it seem like i refused to pay the bill when the truth is they never sent me anything in the first place to pay them making my credit look bad. and then today i used it again and the power blew out. this flat iron is not worth 150 its only worth 5 dollars if that..................DoES ANYoNE Know the Customer svc number plz note it so i can get plz......

I bought the TCP about 2 years ago. I have wavy hair and don't use it as often as girls with curly hair. I was using it yesterday morning when the base of the TCP began to smell funny like something was burning. I thought it was my hair or something till smoke started pouring out of the base. It fried in my hand. After reading all your comments I have decided to not even try and contact them for a replacement, it doesn't seem like I would get any were. When you pay so much money for hair product you expect them to last. This company is a sham.
