I never ordered anything from this company, however, I received a charge from Video Professor for $89.95. I contacted the company (via the telephone number provided by my bank) and told them that this order was fraudulent. They asked for my name and I gave it to them. They told me that they did not have my name on file and the first thing I said ()before thinking first) was how in the world (cleaned up a little) are you charging my credit card and you don’t even have my name? His reply was that he need my credit card number to pull it up. Do I look like an idiot I didn’t give him anything. Never ordered any cd’s I never agreed to anything, as a matter of fact my credit card was stolen (a police report was filed and my cards were suppose to be closed prior to posting these charges, my bank dropped the ball somewhere). How can they charge my account and not have my name on file (I am single, never married so it can’t be under another name. It is a scam, there is no way I will buy a “learn Microsoft word” or whatever cd for $89.95! I have my bank working on this and other charges as we speak. This is crazy, there should be something we can do about these people. We work too hard for our money just to let a thief steal it and get rich off of us. Good luck to all, I am not stopping until I get all of my money back and I file a formal complaint.

I got scammed by this company a few years ago, too. I wanted to try out the video professor cd's because I like to learn things on my own. All of a sudden, I started receiving a new set each month, along with new charges that I couldn't afford. This continued for nearly a year despite attempts to resolve the issue. I contacted customer service repeatedly to cease sending me programs, charging my bank account, and waiting for a refund. There are huge warnings not to send anything back to the company without a confirmation number, but even that proved fruitless. Now, I've lost several hundred dollars that could have been used to go to the dentist for a much needed cavity filling. I doubt I will ever see my money returned.

I was referred by AOL,as on of their customers, who was working with Video Prfessor on a special for programs that I would need for school. The Excel program was $30.00 less than my school was selling it, so for $1.00 (that is one dollar)I was given a 30 free trial. In school my classmates told me to cancel right away, so not even bringing the CD into my house, I sent it back the day it came. I used my checking account that I do my bills from and kept checking until they assured me (after 6 calls) that I would just have the one dollar charge, and they had recieved the program back. Over the next few months they hit my account using different names, and not even listing video professor. The fraud department of my bank found out it was vp, and sent me a letter (still have) and said I had a time frame to go after them. Well, vp apologized, after talking to me like I was the thief, and said they'd credit my account. They did credits in various increments - and stopped when the time was up from my bank to go after them. I wonder HOW they knew??...hmmm. After numerous calls, the response was the same. You have gotten back what you are going to get back. I have the letter from the bank for the amount they helped themselves to. Between the unauthorized charges, and bank charges, I will never be suckered by infomecial garbage, or AOL promotions again.(I no longer use AOL because of this, and their foul way of handling my complaint againt their partner.) The response from AOL agents was that no one has ever complained about Video Professor, so it was essentially me againt the satisfied masses. I guess I am not the only one. Thanks for opening this to the public.

Oh, I just saw in Valleywag that this guy was being sued for sending people "subscriptions" they don't sign up for. This is totally, completely accurate. Last year, I started getting all these tripartite "shipping" charges, several weeks after these bizarre-looking DVD's starting showing up in my (overflowing)(with junk mail) box. I laughed at the DVD's. Weren't they funny? "Learn Windows 3.0!" and other titles made my friends chortle. But I wasn't chortling when they started charging my credit card $99.75 or whatever it was -- not exactly small change. When I called the Colorado number, a very helpful young person informed me that "VIDEO PROFESSOR" could only give me my money "back" if I sent back their DVD's. Apparently, accepting 2 out of 3 meant that I accepted all 3... and therefore owed them, like, $300+. I promptly informed this young person that I never ordered the things, and had long since thrown them in the trash from which they had come. They "talked to a supervisor," and I was eventually refunded, but had to wait 15 business days. Quick to take my money, not sure how they got my info, reticent to refund, but they did give the money back eventually. What a loser company. I hope the interest earned in the 45 days they held my money went to good use -- maybe VIDEO PROFESSOR made 1/34,465 of a downpayment on his yacht with my student loan money! If the judge in this libel lawsuit remembers Contracts from his 1L year the way I do... this is a new spin on the Book-of-the-Month club, and this website hasn't done anything but tell the truth of what slimy things VIDEO PROFESSOR has been up to.

Just like all the others I also got ripped off on the $6.95 special offer. I was even thinking of ordering another learning program until I saw my credit card was debited for $89.95. Nowhere did I ever see this charge mentioned and nothing that came in the mail said I would be charged $89.95 on top of the $6.95. This jackass is a fraud and something needs to be done about it. In the meantime I've cancelled my credit card so they can't keep charging me every month. I'm not going to send it back because it seems you will never get your money back nor will you have the lessons. I wish I had visited this site first.

I thought I'd try out these "free" lessons so I can get an opportunity for my father to experience the world wide web. I received the package in the mail, and never got around to actually opening it for a while. Big mistake. They send you with extra cds you didn't ask for, and if you don't return these cds you are agreeing to buy them! Next month I got more cds in the mail for a subscription I never agreed on, oh and a 80 dollar bill.

The Video Professor commercials are misleading and once they get your credit card information, they use that in an attempt to get you to purchase the entire lesson for a mere $70.00. When You order the "Free" lesson, they send one of a few CD's and want you to purchase the rest of the lesson or send back the free CD. I had ordered video professor and received the so-called free lesson. They had me return the "free" CD unless I purchased all three for something like $70.00. When I declined, they offered to send me other lessons free of charge if I purchased the initial lesson. I declined to purchase anything and sent them all back. A couple of days ago, I called and attemted to obtain the "free" offer. They said that I had to pay at $60.00 shipping and handling fee with a credit card. When I told them that I was not going to provide them with a credit card, they refused to accept an electronic personal check when I offered to pay for just the shipping and handling of the free offer.

I ordered the Excel cd from Video Professor June of 2007. I ordered it through a promotional offer stating "free, just pay shipping and handling" I figured $6 shipping to try the product should be fine. I received it in the mail a few days later, never opened it. 5 days after I was charged the $6 shipping, a $89.95 fee shows up. I sent the unopened disk back and called the main phone number. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes someone tells me they will refund my money. Today, September 24th, I have not gotten my refund. On top of it all, I am STILL receiving disks in the mail. Excel, Quickbooks, Windows, you name it! I receive them every 2 weeks, a $6 shipping fee shows up THEN ANOTHER $89.95 fee for each and every disk they send. I had to cancel the credit card to prevent them from charging me. I have called their main number numerous times to cancel the disks and to get my money back and no one is able to help me. They tell me there is no refund for the disks. I have sent each and every one back unopened. SCAM. Do not use this so called "program." It is a waste of money.

I had purchased one piece of software from Video Professor...before I knew what was happening, my credit card was overdrawn and more attempted charges were constantly occurring. I kept calling customer service, returned the original software and heard many promises of the 100% refund, less S/H. This has been over 3 years now and I am still waiting for all of my refunds (they still owe me about $171). I know I will never see it, so I hope to warn others before they order anything from The Video Professor.

Last March I tried to buy some QuickBooks training software. When my order seemed complete, the website said I bought something other than what I actually ordered. So I cancelled the order or so I thought. A few weeks ago, I tried once again to buy the Quickbooks training software. This time I called Video Professor. The gentleman to whom I spoke said "You already bought that program." When I explained what happened he said"Since we charged you for your order in March,I'll send the order you should have received in March at no charge. The gentleman seemed very nice and very accomodating. However, I never got what he promised. I never got what I ordered. They sent me Programs 2 and 3 on Digital Photography. Still no Quickbooks or Quicken programs. I called Video Professor again. I spoke to a lady who said "The shipment you received was sent on the 30th of August. The rest of the programs were sent on the 31st. You should be receiving that shipment today or tomorrow." Of course, I never received what I paid for even though they promised delivery three times, once in March and two times in September. Thus, I have lost confidence in the Video Professor. I will probably get my programs after I contact the Federal Trade Commission.

After watching the TV commercials for FREE lessons, I ordered one. I get it and find out they are going to charge me $89.00 for it. I'm sending it back, Scherers guarantee being "not satisfied for ANY reason, I will refund shipping and handling and send you $10.00" Now we'll see if he honors it or is a bald face liar.

I too was surprised by the cost of these Video Professor CDs. I was able to negotiate a deal with them but I still think that their infomercial is a scam.

Same as pretty much everyone else, I ordered their "Learn HTML" 3CD set expecting only to pay shipping, and now I find out about their $90 fee.

I ordered Word. I tried it and decided to keep it. I was charged 89.95 plus 6.95 S+H. This was expected. What wasn't expected is that although I declined another offer I recieved Excel. Thinking it was advertising I threw it out. Today I received Internet and called the company. They say I will be charged 6.95 plus 89.95 for the Excel and if I don't return Internet (at my expense) in ten days I will be charged 6.95 plus 89.95 for that unsolicited CD too.

Oh man. I am screwed. I ordered the video professor with an ink order thinking my mom could try this. Instead I find out later that there is a $90 charge on my dad's account. I was never told of this when I ordered my ink. I would never have ordered this if I had known. It was presented to me as a free gift along with a flashlight and some other gifts when I ordered the ink. This is seriously not cool.

I ordered from video professor and paid the advertised price of $6.95 for the shipping. No problems there. About a month or so later I was charged $89.95 for the product I ordered, I guess. Nowhere did it state that charge would be made. I am very upset and want my money back!!

Video Professor is an absolute scam. I was charged the 6.95 shipping, and then my 89$ charge came almost a month after the fact. I too received 3 Cds instead of one quickbook CD. this is just ridiculous. filed a claim with my creditcard company and now I'm going to report them to the BBB and maybe press charges if i can find enough complaints. (which isnt too hard when the professor is an absolute scumbag committing random acts of deuchbaggery).

Ordered Video Professor program HTML (3-disc set) for what I believed was a shipping charge of 6.95. Period. I received the set in a very timely matter, so far so good, then I get hit with a charge of 89.95, which had never been disclosed ... you can read their terms and conditions at videoprofessor.com ... amazing to me was that this 90 bucks was billed even before the 6.95 shipping fee I had agreed to. So, okay, live and learn. A few weeks after the HTLM product arrives, a FrontPage program that I didn't even order arrives what the %$#@, so I call and learn for the first time that I was enrolled in a program that would AUTOMATICALLY keep sending these $90 programs every month .. canceled on the spot. The program itself is very good, designed for people like me who are not very computer savvy ... the marketing and deceptive business practices, though, will prevent me from exploring future programs through this firm. If you want to start a "library" of computer programs, I'd say this might be the way to go, but be aware that that's what you're signing up for. Cheers!
